Where Logic Ends. (Daru, HH, Puck)

OoC: Okay, you guys will understand the title after I finish my post. After reading Franz Kafka, I found myself in awe, so I think I'll make this post in honor of his odd openings to his stories.

BiC: "Well, this is a fine mess I've gotten myself into," Zorlo groaned as he looked around. The fencer only had a loss for words at the moment he began to take in where it was he actually found himself. The green haired man had awoken on a giant platform high in the air; now to those who think that sounds strange as well as impossible, it gets better. The platform was tiled in the same manner that arenas were, with stone tiles. At each corner of the square platform, which must have been at least two hundred yards in area, there stood a strange pole which seemed to merely shoot into the sky.

The sky around the arena was blue with small wisps of white clouds and the sun shining down upon the gray, stone like floor that the fencer stood atop of. To all sides of this floating arena, there was nothing except blue sky, a cloud here or there, the sun shining from where it sat in the sky at the moment, but nothing to explain how or why this arena existed, much less how it stayed afloat.

Now the Aura Master had seen some pretty insane things, but this had to take the cake. Gods, warriors with insane powers, insane villains with cliched plots of taking over the world, stupid tyrants that wind up being deposed by a single person even though they have an army and parts of a person soul splitting from them don't even begin to compare to how illogical this is. I mean, I'm on a floating arena, from the looks of it, and the worst part is, I can't even explain how I got here.

In fact, that part was wholly true. Zorlo had gone to sleep last night in his bed, and woke up this morning on the cold stone of this floating arena. He had no idea what cosmic entity or what supreme powers he could have angered to wind up here, and much less create such an impossible thing, but all he knew was, he was here. His emerald green eyes floated about the arena, walking the distance of it a few times, hoping to find some way or getting off of it and get back to the world below, but none existed.

I could always jump off and use my aura to prevent me from being splattered across the ground, the green haired man thought as he approached a nearby edge and reached his hand out, but soon found an invisible barrier between himself and the sky, even though the fencer could feel the breeze blowing right into his face gently. Okay... invisible barriers as well. Man, something very strange is going on... and all I'm trying to do is get home. What's next, am I going to become a giant bug or something? the fencer asked jokingly, but then rescinded his thought for fear it might become reality.

Suddenly, the platform began to shake violently, throwing the green haired man to his knees. As he watched the other side of the blank arena, a large break appeared in the middle, in a very straight line along the yard area tiles, and quickly began to rise up. As the fencer watched, two strange metal things attached to the bottom of the two halves of the arena pushed one half above the other, making the pit of battle have two floors. When the shaking of the battlefield finally stopped, a tile from the floor above at the far left end moved and slowly became a stair case that lead from the top floor to the bottom floor; this same thing happened moments later on the far right side, creating two ways up and two ways down from floor to floor.

Okay, well that was sufficiently strange. This place gets stranger and strange the more I sit here, and I can't even leave. I wonder what could have called me here while I was asleep to bear witness to the greatest extent of insanity I've ever seen, the fencer stated to himself, more annoyed at the fact that he had no idea what was going on then anything. Obviously he had been called here to fight someone or something, but where was his opponent? This arena, which stood out as a mix of technology and magic, was bare except for the fencer who stood upon it. "I guess I'm waiting for my foe to arrive so I can settle this battle and get the hell out of here," the Aura Master muttered to himself, removing his sheathed sword from his belt and placing it on the ground next to him.

While the fencer waited, he decided to eat some breakfast to get him energized. According to the shear size of this odd arena, this battle was bound to be epic, but the only question the fencer had was why were there two floors? Maybe there was bound to be more then one foe. He shrugged, he'd just have to wait and see. He removed from the pockets of his jacket a loaf of bread that had been nicely covered in a napkin and a canteen of water and began to consume his breakfast. Now this was all a game of waiting.

OoC: Okay, I know this post didn't help much with how to get to this arena, but hey, I know you'll all come up with something either inventive or insane. Either one would be great, since both make battles great fun! Good luck! ^_^

Re: Where Logic Ends. (Daru, HH, Puck)

Trees going by in the darkness making an odd sounding wind pattern. All the assassin could hear was that pattern and the sound of his beating heart. Of course, there was the sound of more than just a few angry guards tracking him down. A left here and right there, sweat beginning to drip down his cheeks. He didnt think this assassination would contain such an ending. Meteora looked to the trees and smiled. Lets make this chase go to whole different level. Now running and jumping from branch to branch seemingly more swiftly than on the ground the assassin felt more comfortable. That was until he ran out of trees to jump to. Looking ahead he found that not only do the trees stop, but so does the earth! Ive been through worse he thought as he made a grand leap from the final tree into the darkness below. The wind from the fall came over his body, faster and faster he fell hoping for water below. He closed his eyes, BAM! He felt the pain of hitting something alot more dense than water.

He opened his eyes to find that the night was no more. Shielding his eyes from the sun he looked around. What he saw was just impossible to describe. The cliff, the trees, the men, the darkness....all gone. Now Meteora sat on cold stone with the sun shinning brightly above. After his eyes adjusted to the light he stood up and looked around. Nothing but blue sky with a few clouds.

"I must be dreaming" he said aloud while shaking his head and adjusting his armor that got messed up during the fall.

He walked to an edge that was closest to the place where he fell. Piering over Meteora noticed another platform like this one was below. He also noticed that there seemed to be no way down and he was way the heck up there. How did this even happen? Im not saying I dont deserve it but this is impossible! AHHHHH He thought angerly while kicking a loose pebble towards the egde. He watched as the pebble hit some sort of barrier and bounce back at him. He rolled his eyes, figures. But then he felt a cool breeze shoot through his hair. He raise his hand towards the breeze and walked to the edge. Again, the barrier. OK this has to be a dream he thought as he spotted some stairs on the far side from him. He knew they led to the platform below, but what he wasnt sure about was what he would find below. The assassin readied his bow and walked calmly to the stairs. This should be interesting

Ooc:short but im just waiting for the others to arrive, ALSO make sure you guys check out Meteora one more time, b/c i think he changed a lil since our last battles. (he has a berserker form)

Re: Where Logic Ends. (Daru, HH, Puck)

“We’re lost aren’t we?”

“We are not lost,”

“Then where are we,”

“…In a forest,” A black-cloaked man replied after a short delay. Of course they where lost no matter how many times he stated other wise. His black cloak floated swiftly just above the ground, brushing against the tallest shards of grass. Oddly enough though this day was not about him, in fact it was about his companion, and polar opposite; the lovely Maria.

Stopping for a second to rest Maria placed her arms irritable over her chest, and leaned against a nearby tree. The Dark brown trench coat she was wearing brushing hard against the scaly bark of the giant redwood, of course she didn’t care about the coat, the only reason she was wearing it was because it was cold, and Tsuukai insisted she wore something over her usually attire. In her mind she didn’t know what was wrong with what she was wearing, a low cut, short sleeved purple shirt, with a type of lace trimming, and a pair of matching shorts, these along with her black leather boots( No not hooker boots). Brushing a loses strand of hair out of her eyes she lifted herself up, and stated pacing waiting for Tsuukai to make up his mind.

“So where to next, master,”

“I don’t know, and don’t call me that,”

“But I thought you knew everything,” She said placing her hand on his left shoulder, and resting her chin on them.

“Have I ever told you, you can be very irritating,” Tsuukai remarked coldly, causing Maria to get off her shoulder, and turn with a “humph”

“No need to be so grumpy,”

“I’m not grumpy…”

“Keep telling yourself that,” She replied whilst lazily sitting on a near by log. Putting her arms over her head she leaned, and gave a loud over exaggerated yawn, “I’m bored, amuse me Tsuui,”

“Here?”

“…That’s not what I meant, and you know that!” Slightly taken by the comment she stood, and turned to face him, only to find he was smiling, and holding back a laugh. Crossing her arms over her chest she gave another “humph” and stuck her nose up.

“What now, you can have fun at my expense, but I can’t”

”You can have fun at your expense anytime you want, just not mine,”

Staying quiet staring at the girl for a few minutes Tsuukai finally decided to speak, “You done,”

“Almost,” Still sticking her nose up, she starting counting backwards from ten in a incoherent mumble. When she got to zero she started laughing uncontrollably, so hard she fell hard on her butt, but didn’t stop.

“Was it really that funny,”

“No…but you face was,” She said in between giggles. The face she was talking about was Tsuukai’s scrutinizing look, you know wrinkled nose, and squinty eyes; Maria seemed to find it amazingly funny.

“You…are…strange,” Tsuukai commented, before pulling out a map, and getting back to work, Maria on the other hand was still bored. Of all things she hated long treks through the woods, what was worse Tsuukai only seemed to have a sense of direction when they where riding, and those moments are few, and far between. Fumbling with her saber, which was place awkwardly at her side, she started to search through the roughage, looking for some clew as to where she was.

After being unlucky in finding anything for the umpteenth hundred time, she irritable kicked a pebble, which bounced of the ground once, launching itself into the air. As it soared through the air, with a slight whizzing sound it suddenly disappeared, as if the air in front of her swallowed it whole. Raising her eyebrow she tried another stone, to the same result, the air seemed to suck it up. Drawing her blade slowly so Tsuukai wouldn’t hear, she poked the air, to find the sword to disappeared. Walking over to it, after returning her blade to its seethe, she thought to put her hand through, but instead, her foot his a large rock, causing her to lose balance and fall through the portal, disappearing in a yelp.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

“Owwie,” Maria groaned rolling onto her back. In her half daze, she opened her eyes wearily; quickly bring up her arm to shield her from the light. Sitting up after a few seconds of this, she looked around, only to find herself in what looked to be an arena, shock, and slightly confused, she slowly got to her feet, and turned around to see an oddly familiar sight. Green hair? The man standing on the opposite end of the strange place had green hair…it wasn’t till he turned around that Maria recognized the figure.

“Zorlo?”

OoC: Maria, link in my sig. I really needed maria to have a battle for her own, so I decided to use her, this place sure does sound like fun though.

Re: Where Logic Ends. (Daru, HH, Puck)

Air and concrete whistled by, a gray and blue blur surrounding the ronin. Violet wisps of hair snapped wildly around his face, his trailing sleeves and leggings fluttering just as violently behind him as he fell from an indeterminable height, nothing but the gray and blue around him, and the looming blackness threaded through with multi-colored lights ahead. A separate orb of deep black and gray shot in from the side, rapidly growing larger as Koganei flew towards it. The orb swerved around, revealing a bright red light in its center. The light pulsed, flaring as the droid prepared to fire. Forewarned by recent experiences, the samurai snapped his blade before him, the thin red laser bouncing off the reflective surface. Koganei flailed his arms and legs, struggling against the forces of gravity and inertia to get his feet in front of him and closer to the concrete surface speeding by.

The ronin’s sandals scraped against the rough concrete as Koganei stretched his legs as far as he could, the droid ahead looming closer and closer. Shifting his balance, the swordsman dug his left foot into the wall, spinning to the side in time to dodge the second laser. Shifting his balance again, the samurai dug his right foot in, spinning the opposite way as he fell. Grasping the hilt of his sword with both hands, Koganei brought the blade across in front of the droid, his weight and the power of his rotation behind it. Sparks flew as the blade sliced through the machine, the third laser shot dying before it could be let loose.

Three more black and gray orbs shot into view, spinning rapidly as they entering the air stream. Twin red flares warned the swordsman, his second blade flying free of its sheath to join the first in deflecting both shots. Koganei straightened his body, his twin blades lengthening as he brought them in front of him in a protective cross stance. Twisting his body around as the droids swerved closer, the violet-haired ronin reversed the blade in his right hand. A quick snap of his feet sent the young man twirling between the next volley of lasers and towards their sources. Another quick twist and he was facing backwards, his left blade slicing through one droid and the right stabbing clear the other right in its glowing red center.

“I,” Koganei growled, turning around again and whipping the impaled, sputtering remains of the droid off his sword, “hate the twenty-eighth century!” This time, a line of bright red snapped across in front of the ronin, the two droids flying into view connected at either end. Two more spun into the air stream, lasers flying out to touch and connect with other; an adjacent line to the first. Twice more, pairs of droids flew in from nowhere, connecting a laser line through the middle of the existing lines. Koganei swore as the droids began to spin around, the barrier of scorching lasers melting into a deadly red blur. A blue aura surrounded the samurai’s blades, a pleasant offset to the bright red. Yelling a battle cry lost in the whistling of the wind, the ronin launched into action, flinging blue arcs of energy from both blades to crash through the spinning droids, each explosion causing a laser line to flicker out of existence.

“This era sucks!” Koganei yelled, bursting through the other side of the cloud of smoke. Kicking off the wall behind him, the ronin turned over in the air and slammed both blades into the concrete. Sparks flew as young man continued his downward descent, leaving twin furrows in the side of the massive building. A cursory glance down showed that the colorful lights below were growing larger by the second, and his descent wasn’t slowing at all. Yanking the blades out and slamming them home in their sheathes, the ronin grasped the pendant around his neck; his final hope before he splattered against the unyielding ground below. Golden beams of light shot out from between Koganei’s tightly clenched fingers, the pendant’s magic activating. The light grew to encompass the swordsman, soon reducing him to a faded out shadow amidst a ball of light. Then, the light flared, erasing even the shadow of his form. And as suddenly as it had appeared, the light was gone, Koganei with it.

<====}=0 – 0={====>

The darkness of the twenty-eighth century night was gone, replaced instead with a piercing daylight of some unknown era. Before he could react, Koganei slammed into a very hard, unyielding surface, the air driven from his lungs in a heavy whoosh. The ronin bounced twice before he flopped over onto his side. The violet-haired man groaned, a hand tentatively reaching up to probe at his face. A sharp pain lanced through his right cheek. That’s going to leave one hell of a bruise. Koganei thought, working his jaw as the pain receded into a more dull sensation. And damn if it isn’t going to be sore for a week. Sighing, the young man pushed himself into a sitting position. Wherever he was, whenever he was, this place did not pale in comparison to the twenty-eighth century. Gods, time-travel sure could be troublesome some times. Leaving you stranded on a platform suspended in midair and whatnot.

Re: Where Logic Ends. (Daru, HH, Puck)

The green haired man turned and looked at the young woman that had appeared upon the strangely placed platform. She was all too familiar to the fencer, and he was unsure why she was here. This woman was the lover to the Aura Master's rival, the Master of Shadows, and the fencer knew for a fact she was strong. She had, after all, fought on par with Nekatsuki.

"Well, it is good to see you again, Miss Maria," the fencer told her, smiling. Zorlo knew she probably knew as little as he did, but it couldn't help to ask. "So, interesting that we find ourselves here... wherever here is, no?"

"Zorlo, where are we?" the female fencer asked, looking around just as confused as Zorlo had been when he first arrived.

"I haven't the faintest, but I'm sure there is probably for a good cause."

"Right... strange though, I find myself in a strange place with my lover's rival. What are the odds?!"

"Not very likely," the fencer whispered. "I get the feeling we'll get our answers soon."

Suddenly an omnipresent voice seemed to echo loud enough that the arenas could here it. "Warriors!" it said, shaking the arenas slightly. "The time has come for the clash of some of the strongest warriors in existence. I've brought you all here to battle each other to decide which of you is worthy to become my guard."

"Yeah, and why would we do that?!" a warrior from the upper level asked as the stairs vanished, making it so neither sets of warriors could change floors.

"Mortals! It would be an honor for anyone to be my guard, for I am a god! Heed my words. You will all fight one another at separates times. Whoever is on your arena, you two shall fight! Let the battles begin!" the voice echoed loudly through the arenas until they faded, leaving the warriors to their battles.

"I guess we begin then," the fencer told Maria as he drew his sword. "Ever since you fought Nekatsuki and Stacia, I've wanted to see how strong you are," he said pointing his golden blade at her. "Shall we begin?!" the green haired man asked, smiling at the empowered woman.

OoC: Short, but it does its job. You heard, so let the battle begin!

"Yeah, and why would we do that?!" The assassin asked as the stairs faded before his eyes.

"Mortals! It would be an honor for anyone to be my guard, for I am a god! Heed my words. You will all fight one another at separates times. Whoever is on your arena, you two shall fight! Let the battles begin!" The booming voice slowly left the floating platform.

I can't begin a battle without an. . . . Meteora turned and spotted a man getting to his feet. Oh. The half-elf, filled with confusion took aim upon the man. With a deep breath he released the black arrow. The arrow flew through the air ever so silently, and was heading straight for the man's head. At the last fraction of a second, the man planted his left foot and threw his body to the right side. Meteora watched in complete shock as the man held the arrow in his right hand.

"How. How did you do that?. . ." The assassin walked closer to his opponet. "Thats impossible! What art do you study to perform such actions? Oh, forgive me. My name is Meteora Darku, pleased to meet. . . and fight you." He said with a slight bow, keeping his eyes on the man.

The black arrow hit the ground, bouncing twice and rolling a little before finally resting.

"Oh, that. Well, I thought you were just a random foe I was supposed to defeat for the damn god who put us here. Normally things would have been different. . . Ok then, I can see my shooting at you made you rather upset." Meteora drew his katana. "How about we discuss who we are while we duel then, hm?"

Then man smiled and drew a single katana. The assassin's blade met the man's in the form of an X. "Good luck sir." Meteora said; the man giving a nod in agreement. The blades made a sound that echoed through the air as the two separated their katanas and got into a stance.

Meteora led the attack with a spin, bringing down his sword fast, and hard. The man blocked and retaliated with the same move, but while flipping over the half-elf's head. Meteora blocked and pushed against his opponet's blade.

"Wow. You are a man of many talents aren't you?" The assassin stopped pushing and jumpped back. "Now will you tell me your name and something about you?" He brought his blade down to his side, waiting for something to come out of the man's mouth.

Ooc: Getting the intros out of the way so the fight can begin!

Re: Where Logic Ends. (Daru, HH, Puck)

OoC: Its a secret to everybody!

BiC:

The threads of destiny. It is said that the threads of destiny have already laid out a path that the world will follow no matter what. It does not matter if you believe you follow your own path, because frankly it isn’t true. Even if you are one of the lucky few that can move against the fates, the threads will pursue forward with, or without you. It is the hidden truth of this world, and through it, all things are decided. However do not believe the threads are not without a sense of humor, as it is a tendency for them to make people’s lives a living hell. Little did Maria know, but she was one of these people.

Warriors!” Those words where the trigger that started a series of events that would only be connected when they where all over. As soon the blond haired women let the words enter her ears, she groaned in agony, immediately dropping to the ground holding her head, unbeknownst to green haired fencer who had been turned away.

“That voice…”Suddenly her world went pitch black, an abyss of darkness. Her body seemed to be shivering, and her mind was far beyond the reaches of her control. But as fast as the darkness came, a bright soothing light that seemed to calm her to her very soul thwarted it. What happened next is something of a mystery, as they would say, for not even Maria can recall exactly what see had seen.

What she does remember is vague; she spoke of seeing people she knew, and people she didn’t, flashing before her eyes. They where never in the same place twice, it was like looking at a slideshow moving at super speed. Not even the exact picture could be remembered; all she could truly remember about this otherworldly experience, was that it was terribly frightening.

Not a second after she dropped, she was already back on her feet, shaking the creeping sensation of despair, and loneliness from her. It seemed her “phase” had come, and gone must faster in real life, then in her mind. She stood to hear the rest of the speech soon forgetting the event, and losing herself in the excitement of a new battle. Zorlo had, after the speech was done of course, turned to her with words of a challenge, drawing his golden blade in a classic hero manner. Now Maria being a direct disciple of the one know as Tsuukai Ita, was taught never to back away from a fair fight, so in response she drew her blade as well, speaking no real words.

Who lunged first is actually irrelevant, as the only thing that truly matters so early in a match is who drew blood first. This honor of course was given to the more experience fencer, for as Maria lunged for a strike, Zorlo had easily parried the attack, with a simple flick of his pale hand. Zorlo testing Maria’s fencing skills at first moved in for a fake attack, and as the ever beautiful Maria attempted to dislodge It from its given trajectory, Zorlo edited his fingers slightly causing her blade to miss, and his to scrape along her right arm.

Maria jumped back after the first blow grabbing her arm with her right hand (Maria is left handed). Subsequently she looked at her hand after to find a thin line of blood etched into it. The wound may have been deeper, and have drawn more blood, had Maria not seen the subtle movement of his blade, and quickly lean to the side. The blade still grazed her arm, as her normal speed was like a tortoise to a hare when compared to Zorlo’s. Luckily for her the adrenalin was pumping to the extent that she couldn’t even feel any pain from the attack.

“Lucky shot,” Maria said as she conjured a fireball behind her back, in her hand.

“Saying that you remind me of him,”

“I’ll take that as a complement,”

“It’d be best you do,” he said with a sly smile, as he subliminally adjusted his headband.

“Catch!” her words where spoke at almost the exact time the small sun leapt from her hand, aimed jokingly at his green hair. At least if he beats me, he wont be able to say I didn’t even cut a hair from his head

OoC: OMG FORSHADOWING!
