A failing conscience... (anyone)

OoC: Alright, im trying to come back from a sea of inactivity, lets try changing Sorelu up a bit...

Sorelu's eyes blazed with the intent to kill as he mercilessly slaughtered the human boy. His mother had defended him bravely, but lost her life to the glowing Avenger. Blood dripped from its tip, staining the Earth below the elf. The humans must die! roared an internal voice, his command so compelling it actaully made Sorelu's legs push off the ground, avoiding a few incoming arrows. A split second later, the three archers defending their master's shop fell to the ground, writhing in pain as a flame consumed them from the inside.

A strange wind blew this night, as the red Sun fell into its sleep. Orange smoke filled the air from the buring buildings below. Off in the distance thunderheads roared with the anger of the gods, this was a prized city, and Sorelu had become a renegade Elf, seeking only to kill the mortal humans. The gods of Ingfi must punish Sorelu, despite his status as king. But for now they must watch the town to fall into ashes and the void of death. Maybe, just maybe someone will stop Sorelu... and maybe not.

Sorelu sheathed his swords, unstrung his bow and began to leave the buring rubble behind him, when a shady figure caught his eye, he assumed it was a spy and started his journey out.

"Stop! This will not go unpunished!" said a voice from behind the elementalist.

Re: A failing conscience... (anyone)

Iyasis strode on silent feet into the bleeding village, silver eyes flashing in a growing storm inside her, scanning for the cause. Finally ahead she saw a figure, armed. Her silver eyes turned golden and fiery, and fire obediently gathered from around her, spiraling up her arms. Her blood red hair waved softly in the wind, making the silver tips look like liquid starlight in the dying light. She saw the figure notice her, and make to run. Iyasis could hardly allow that.

"Stop!" she called to him. "This will not go unpunished!" her normally softer, almost musical voice rang strong and steady. Her bonded sword hilt glinted from behind her black cloak. Fire danced at her arms and hands. "You have done enough. Face your actions or die in blade and fire." Her voice spoke with not a threat or warning, but just a calm, collected manner, as if was addressing a much less bleak subject.

Re: A failing conscience... (anyone)

Sorelu's ears twitched with the slight annoyance of resistance, he turned, releasing his burning vengance at the mortal behind him, a short burst of blue fire relieved itself from Sorelu's palm. The projectile never hit its mark, for a wall of fire rose in front of his opponent, diffusing the burning magics with in the heat blast.

Sorelu's eyes widened slightly when they saw a figure running through the fire, straight at the elf. The female had already drawn her sword, and had her own fiery magics surrounding her, dancing gracefully around the controlled woman. For a moment Sorelu felt mercy, his innate hate for violence overwhelmed him slightly before a merciless, raging conscience took hold of him. She is helping the humans... said a cool, commanding voice from inside Sorelu. The same humans that killed your father, and destroyed your own innocence. She must die like the rest, for the sake of all Elves! For the sake of your own power, she must be killed! Sorelu's eyes returned from the back of his head, but a second too late. The girl had thrust at Sorelu, who instictively parried, but not before a screaming fireball roared from the blade's tip, aimed at Sorelu's chest.

Sorelu broke the combat, narrowly avoiding the fireball. In one fluid motion he drew, strung and nocked an arrow. After training on the girls chest, he released the shot, which immediately vanished into the air. The woman did a double-take, wondering if she had actually seen the shot. A sharp burst of air hit her chest, threatening to break her sternum as she flew back into some near by burning hay stacks.

"Your incolence will be punished, no one will stand in my way! The humans must die!" roared the Vengence within Sorelu. His eyes blazed with the passion to kill, but tears screamed down his face. This was not the same elf as the King of Ingfi, who had gloriosly saved the Elven race, detroyed the invaders and above all, felt compassion. This was a heartless beast, one that will kill for his own power, and worse... pleasure.

Re: A failing conscience... (anyone)

Iyasis blinked as the arrow flew through her chest, feeling nothing. A moment later, a weighty blast of air slammed hard into her chest, sending her flying back a few yards. She bit back a cry as she nearly landed on her feet, but as the wind was knocked out of her, wavered. She picked up her bonded sword and dusted herself off, coughing once. "Ooookay then... no more playing around." she muttered as she regained herself quickly and reapproached the elf. Her silver eyes regarded him carefully, shimmering softly, hauntingly. "Why are you trying to kill the humans, stranger?" she asked softly. "I realize they're all really dumb and stuff, but death seems a bit extreme. What have you against them otherwise?" she tilted her head a bit. Regardless of the elf's air and destructive glint in his eyes, the woman's face was relaxed, calm, as if unthreatened.

Re: A failing conscience... (anyone)

OoC: Tell me if I'm doing this right. This is my first time.

Here goes nothing...

BiC:

"Dumb and stuff, eh?" said the voice of someone hidden in the shadows.

Kartaikian had been drawn here by the smoke, because where there was smoke, there was always fire. Where there was fire, there was bound to be trouble. Where there was trouble, that's where you would find Kartaikian. When he saw the smoke, he had urged his horse into a gallop. He had pushed his horse almost to it's limit. Even so, he had not made it in time. It was too late. Now, all that was left was the one who had committed the crime.

Kartaikian stepped out of the shadows. He had already drawn his black and green sword, Soulsplitter, and it reflected light that wasn't there. The bright blade contrasted with Kartaikian's drab attire. His sharp gray eyes studied the two people who now stood before him, and they looked at him.

"We humans are much smarter then you think us to be," he spoke. "I won't deny 'stuff' though."

He brandished his blade...

Iyasis turned to face the newcomer, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"We humans are much smarter than you think us to be," he spoke. "I won't deny 'stuff' though." he said.

Iya shrugged and put her hands up. "Alright alright, i realize that that isn't always true, it's a general term, i meant no offense." she said.

She saw the man pull out a sword, brandishing it before him. The immortal sighed softly. "There is no need for that blade, stranger, i assure you. If to anyone you should be flashing it at that one," she pointed to the other with a shrug.

Re: A failing conscience... (anyone)

Sorelu watched as the female sweet-talked her way out of a fight. The new warrior pointed his weapon at Sorelu and stated, "We humans are stronger than you think, elf!"

Sorelu's pointed ears twitched with annoyance, "That is the last time you will point your sword at anything." said he as flames jumped across his arms, threatening to release their burning fury. "Now prepare to die." Flames erupted from Sorelu's compact form then redirected themselves toward the human.

Wide-eyed, the man in gray lifted his sword, deflecting the blast around him, forming a cocoon. Sorelu leaped into the fire while the defender was distracted, with a quick flick he knocked the green sword from his sight, and delivered a punch into Kartaikian's stomach. Sorelu's fist was surrounded with rock.

A gust of wind then came from behind Sorelu, knocking the man off his feet. The elementalist lifted the man to his knees. He placed both swords, Avenger and Redeemer upon either side of his neck. "You are not forgiven for your race's idiocy. Die!" said the elf; his eyes were redder now, glowing with the thrill of a kill, dancing in the starlight of blood. He drew back Avenger, preparing to end this miserable creature's life on this realm, and dooming him into an abyss of torture.

Re: A failing conscience... (anyone)

For a moment it seemed like Kartaikian was doomed. His death seemed imminent. Kartaikian, however, knew better. He had mastered his sword, and the cursed magic that lived deep inside its blade.

Kartaikian closed his eyes, calling upon the curse of Soulsplitter, his cursed longsword. He felt the magic of the sword come in contact with his mind, and he felt the familiar pull of the curse on his soul. He didn't let it overcome him, and instead he called the blade to himself. With a high-pitched sound and a short bright green flash, the sword materialized in his hands, from wherever his foe had flicked it to, just in time for him to block the elf's attack. He quickly jumped to his feet, and with a firm kick to the chest, knocked the surprised elf to his back.

Kartaikian sheathed his blade, and whistled, calling his horse to him. The horse had been standing in the nearby shadows, and quickly trotted to where his master stood. After he had mounted his horse, he strung his recurved bow, nocking an arrow into place.

"What is it that you have against humans? We are not all alike, you know," Kartaikian said. "It is not right to attribute the idiocy of some to all."

Re: A failing conscience... (anyone)

OoC: I myself shall be using Tacheon, the link's in my signature.

BiC: The ground parted several meters away from where this conflicted had broken out. Tacheon strode out, uniform slightly dusty, but not a single tear or rip.
"I'm afraid that I'll have to side with Kartaikian on this one. Humanity is stained with idiocy, but the untarnished spots are of a briliance coveted by most. Whatever grudge you may bear against a human, you must therefore bear against myself," he knelt down to the ground and, feeling the chemical compound of the ground beneath him, crafted a katana-style blade, which he drew from the earth as though it were a sheath. "So pardon me for joining at such a late time, but I'm afraid that I must protest this show of force."

Tacheon drew up alongside with Kartaikian, who by then recognized him. They nodded at each other, then prepared for the next phase of the fight.

Re: A failing conscience... (anyone)

Iyasis smiled softly. For different reasons, and yet the same, more were coming to the battlefield where the company stood. She turned to face Sorelu with the other two, standing beside them, but a little bit ahead. Her silver eyes sparked dangerously and she took on a fighting stance beside Tacheon and Kartaikian, watching their enemy with blazing eyes. Tiny lights flickered at her fingertips, ready to explode into inferno at the slightest whisper from the mage. All she needed was the softest excuse...

Re: A failing conscience... (anyone)

OoC: I can't think of anything to really add at the moment, but this thread has kind of died, and I think it needs a little catalyst. So here goes...

BiC:

Tacheon sneezed. Everyone was so tense that their nerves were totally destroyed by this. People started to attack. Things went to hell.
