Fury at the Lake (Southern Belle)

OoC: Well, since Insaney wouldn't reply to this battle, I've asked Belle to battle me instead.

BiC: It was a bright early morning. Erani had just woken from a good night’s sleep and was ready to continue her travels. She’d been traveling through a forest and had found a nice place under a tree to rest for the night. Now that it was morning, she walked on through more of the forest, which seemed to be quite big. The tall trees towered over her and seemed to go on for miles. Rocks and small plants were everywhere and in every direction. Occasional streams were flowing in all directions, as well as providing some breakfast for Erani.

After catching and eating a few small fish from one of the streams, Erani walked on, admiring some of the scenery around her. Suddenly, she happened to look down at the ground and find a group of hoof prints in the dirt. They looked too old to be her own, and had seemingly been there for years. Erani’s eyes widened. Wow…those look like Centaur hoof prints, she thought. It could only mean one thing. Could this be the forest my herd once inhabited? I wonder…maybe if I looked hard enough, I could find some sort of indication that a fire burned here long ago.

Erani kept her eyes open for any sign that a fire had burned. She looked around for burnt twigs and leaves, fossilized ashes, and anything else she could think of. That would definitely prove that a fire had burned up most of Tahiki Forest, forcing the herd to leave before Erani was born. While she looked, Erani also kept an eye out for anything that might indicate Centaurs once lived in this forest.

However, just as Erani was approaching a cave near a stream, she saw something sparkling in the dirt in front of it. Uncovering it, she noticed it was a necklace with a flower shaped emerald in the middle. Something was written on it. Erani looked closely at it and read it. It said “Cielle” in some sort of fancy black writing. Erani gasped. She couldn’t believe it. Cielle was her mother’s name! If this was indeed her mother’s necklace, this had to be Tahiki Forest. Erani decided to keep it with her. She then wiped off the rest of the dirt and put it around her neck. Now she had something to remember her mother by if she never saw her again. That is, if the necklace really was hers.

Continuing through the forest, Erani now concluded that it was indeed Tahiki Forest she was in and that she was glad to have found it. Pretty soon, though, something made her forget about it. She finally found an opening in the trees that had sunlight showing through. Erani galloped to it and to her amazement, she saw a big lake, the sun shining down on it. She hadn’t seen one of these in a long time, and decided to go for a little swim. Erani galloped to the edge of the lake and leaped in. She swam around.

After awhile, though, she took a rest and stood there in the water for a minute or two. Suddenly, she heard something coming from somewhere in the trees. It sounded like a stick break. Soon, Erani noticed a figure moving around near the trees. It appeared to be trying to get to the lake. The figure appeared to be a girl who looked about Erani's age. She had long and straight red hair with a tint of brown. Erani also noticed she carried a quiver full of arrows and a bow, which made her gulp slightly because Erani had always been weak against arrows. The red-haired girl also carried a sword and a dagger, and appeared to not be very strong in terms of physical strength. The girl also had pointed ears, and Erani guessed she was not a normal human, but something else. She was clearly not a Centaur, for she did not have the body of a horse. Erani had no idea what she was.

“W-who’s there?” Erani called. No answer. The girl just kept moving around the lake. Soon, she noticed her.
