The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
OoC: (Edit: WE NEED 2 MORE PEOPLE!!! If you still want to join, you somehow get pulled through a warp into a cell, after one more person joins the mutants will toss you into the arena.)
this is for three or five people (not including me) and there will be teams of two or thee. (If there are three people and you want to join, say so and wait for a fifth.) ![]() “Oh Come ON!!! Not cool!” J yelled in exasperation. He had fallen right into her trap. J had been given the assignment to silence Tralisia Blackert, one of the organizers of the Under City Arenas, designed after the roman coliseums of old. Just when he thought he had her he was dropped through the floor and was now in an Under City Arena. J was now playing the game that he had initially come to put an end to. “This blow, I don’t have time for this.” J mumbled to himself, how could he not have seen any sign of this trap. He was mad that he had taken this job so lightly. And now that he thought of it, this whole job had seemed to have gone a little too easy. I shouldn’t have been so careless. The arena was huge, almost all dirt with twelve pillars around the outside and broken pieces of walls scattered about. Suddenly the metal shell around the whole arena started to open reviling throngs of people and mutants alike along with the deafening roar that was their cheer at the arrival of the long awaited worrier, J. “And now what you’ve all been waiting for! The Battle of the Century!” came the almost as deafening rampant from the loud speakers. J looked up to see Tralisia Blackert on all four enormous monitors in the center of the arena. She had the face of a curl witch and had silver straw hair to go with it. Her armor was black and silver and looked much like a robe with sloped up pointed shoulders. “Jeez, it’s as if she memorized the lines from all those cheesy movies.” “In this, the day of days, you will all be privileged to witness the epic battle between the glorious government,” she said mocking the government that J worked for. The crowed laughed. “And the magnificent tribes!” The crowd erupted in cheer once more, after they had died down a pit she continued. “That will leave you all dumbfounded and in shock!” and the crowd went crazy once again. “Bleh, this is the worst announcer ever.” J said, not audible over all the noise. “For this night, we give you the guest star of tonight’s entertainment, our most esteemed guest, the great and wondrous worrier!… J!!!” the crowd went crazy again. “But he is not the only guest star of this legendary spectacle! Oh no,…” the crowd settled down a bit and leaned forward on there seats. “Our scientists have been working none stop for months to give you all what you for so long now have been dyeing to see… FINALLY! They have created a portal to another dimension! A dimension filled with Savages! Savages more Ruthless! More Barbarous! More Powerful than anyone of you can ever imagine!” the crowed made more noise then ever. A gate at the far end of the arena started to open. The crowd fell silent, waiting for what felt like an eternity to them to see what would burst through the gate. “Oh boy, this is ganna suck” OoC: When you join this thread, you will some how be warped to J’s world and placed in a cell until three of you join, then you’ll be lead down a hallway and forced out the gate into the arena. Re: The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
OoC: Great this sounds fun. As always, ill use Camdel, link in sig.
BiC: Camdel grinned as he saw the deer. The deer had a limp, having broken it's leg by falling off a cliff. Camdel had been folowing her, and now she was finally in sight. He summoned a yew bow, took aim, and shot an iron arrow from the bow. He struck dead on target, killing the deer. It died instantly, and the other members of the heard started to gallop away. Oh no, you don't Thought Camdel as he raised his Staff. He shot a fireball at another dear, slower than the others, and killed it. He ate well that night, roasting the meat on a fire lit by his staff. He put out the fire, opened his sleeping bag and froze. There, right on his bed, was a hole. But this was no ordinary hole. It opened to another world. Horrible creatures were shuffling from one hole to another, and if someone walked past a hole, they took them in, examined them, and tossed them back into the hole they came from. Camdel suddenly felt a shiver down his spine, and he knew he had to close this hole. He was about to close it when one of the creatures grabbed him. He struggled, but they managed to inject him with a needle. A big one came up to him and asked something. "What is your name?" "Camdel" Camdel was horrified. He couldn't control what he said. They must of injected him with a truth serum. "How good are you at battling?" "Very good. I have survived countless battles. Many have died by my hand." "How is that? You don't look very strong." "My magic is unsurpassed." The Big mutant grinned (or at least it looked like a grin) and shouted something in another language at someone nearby. Camdel saw another needle, and felt a sharp pain before passing out. He woke up and his first thought was to escape. He tried to use his magic, but couldn't. He gazed down at his hands and howled in rage. That second needle must have stripped him of his powers. A note was next to him, and he picked it up and read it. Dear Prisoner We have taken away your magic. When we release you, you will get another injection to reinstate you abilitys. Until then, you are helpless. We will release you when there are enough prisoners for what we have in mind. Camdel read this and slumped down, defeated emotionly. So he ate, slept and awaited the day the other prisoners would come. OoC: Ok, now do we need one more person, or two more people? |

Re: The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
OoC: That’s really, really cool Meta-link. I like it a lot. Just a little background on Js world, Earth 4500, when the virus hit, everyone was infected with it. Most people went underground where the virus doent effect them, (although they still have it) they mad bio-mechanical suits so they could go above ground. Some people where able to evolve to survive the viruses’ effects. They turned into mutants. Almost all mutants just look like an animal or element people. ie gorilla man, lizard man, spider man… (oops) rock man, bat man, (dang there all taken). Some are just big and ugly and others look pretty normal. Some even get bio-mechanical armor just like every human wears making them exceptionally strong. Everyone with bio-mechanical armor have a specific weapon designed to go with their armor and different abilities that come with their armor. Most guards at the arena are bio-mechanical mutants.
Your post still works great though meta-link. After this guy and a next guy comes, you’ll be good to go. it will be two on two. (can get to 3 on 3) Last edited by I)ragon11; 01-23-2007 at 08:51 PM. |

Re: The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
The sun crept behind the high sierra mountains. Ralis headed to a large village to the east of the cold sierra landscape. The bitter cold was slowing advancing on the horizon like a hunter stalking its prey. The blanket of night and shadow swallowed the blue sky and the only light exposed was the white gleam of the moon. Ralis trudged along a beaten path, he could see his breathe in the frigid air.
"I hope it doesn't get any damn colder," Ralis shivered, pulling his arms into his cloak and starting a spark inside for warmth. The boy looked forward and saw the wooden gate of the village. Something was strange about the village. The gate was halfway open, it creaked in the wind. Ralis drew closer and examined the gate more closely. He saw footprints, probably from metal boots. They were being dragged around in the gate, into the town and behind an abandoned house. Ralis looked around the town from the square and saw no one outside. He kicked open the door and saw something even stranger. There was a fire in the hearth and food on the table. He took off a gauntlet and felt the cooked meat and baked bread. It was still warm. He looked around inside the house and everything was all over the place. Marks in the floor that people have been dragged, a dent in the wooden door, a hole in the left wall, chairs kicked over. Ralis grabbed two loaves of fresh bread ran back outside to notice a small red light shining from behind a house that he hadn't seen before. "What the hell happened here?" Ralis asked, scratching his head. He followed the tracks to the red light and turned the corner around the house and his eyes widened in awe. A gaping hole floating in midair. It was red, black, and orange, all the colors swirling around the pitch dark center. He took small steps toward the portal and stuck his hand out to touch it. Ralis screamed for help when the hole collapsed around his hand and swallowed him hole. He opened his eyes and saw himself flying in an orange and red tunnel, similar to the hole from before. He looked behind him and saw the village. Ralis looked forward and saw nothing, an empty void. He drew closer and closer until he was surrounded by a dark nothingness. When he opened his eyes again, he was in a long hallway, surrounded by horrible, gruesome, and menacing creatures. Their faces looked a green hue and their features were creepy and distorted. A rather large creature drudged toward him, a giant iron hammer in his left and disfigured hand. The beast stretched out its free arm and grabbed Ralis around the neck and hoisted him off the air. "You... you another one to fight here too, good... good, the crowd will like another one!" it said, rancid breath protruding from its maw and rotten, yellowish teeth. "Get off freak!" Ralis yelled. He raised his knee and kicked the monster in the jaw. It roared back in pain and fell back, clutching it's mouth, dropping Ralis and his monstrous hammer. Ralis fell to his feet and immediately released his sword from his sheathe and held it in a defensive position. "How dare you, you little nothing of a human!" the monster bellowed as it picked up it's hammer and pounded the ground. Ralis almost fell to his feet from the vibration and the beast charged forward and swung it at Ralis. Ralis stood with a smirk on his face as two giant shadow arms emerged from Ralis's shadow and grabbed the hammer, halting it in place. The other grabbed the beast by the throat and hurtled it to the floor. Ralis grinned and raised his sword in the air to yell, "Who else wants to fight me?" Another monster rushed in to see the unconscious beast and scoffed in a strange dialect. Then it stared at Ralis strangely before holding up a gun of some sort. The monster pulled the trigger and before Ralis realized it, he had been shot, drugged, and dragged into a lonely prison cell. Last edited by MaskedLegend; 01-24-2007 at 12:00 AM. |

Re: The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
This is the best thing ever. You see I have a 200-page comic devoted to J and this is cooler than most of what happens in my comic, I’ll probably have to make a comic out of this.

Re: The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
OoC: Woo hoo, I just got Lex approved, dragon is my bro, by the way
BiC: Lex's commander shot down two gargoyles with his arm canons as the coven swooped low. They looked hungry, but they were visibly thinning out. Commander Michael (pronounced in German like Mishhell) came in over Lex's radio "now would be a good time Lex." Lex blasted out of his trench before Michael finished his sentence. As melee fighter of the group with great six-foot diamond shaped arm blades it was his job to cut down as many gargoyles from behind and fly along with them before they noticed him. He took out three almost immediately with great swipes helped along by thrusters that somersaulted him through the air. Two more turned to the sound in time to see death staring right back at them. “Don’t cut me down I’m clearing a path to you guys.” Just then three more turned and engaged Lex’s Mech, when Tipps caught sight of them and cut two down. The third dug claws into Lex’s hull, one burying deep enough to take out his stats menu. “Lex, LEX you still with us?” “Don’t worry about it, can one of you get him off me?” Tipps aimed an amazing shot that pulled the beast right off him. Under the weight Lex had made a dangerous plummet and made his correction now, his shoulder scratching the ground and dragging through the mud till he corrected himself and uprighted. Now the majority of the coven was going for what they thought was easy prey, but Lex finally spotted the remains of his platoon; two more were down on the ground, only one was struggling, leaving only four still standing. Tipps aimed behind Lex now and his shot was true. The Gargoyles were practically lining up to get at Lex, but being cut down by Tipp’s machine gun. Presently two were angered by this development and flew into the low fog above, to come smashing against Tipp’s side. Tipps quickly realized his fate and even more quickly measured his resolve… he never took his aim off the gargoyles fighting for Lex. A primortal scream echoed over everyone’s radio as his mech fell into the mud, the hull horribly dented in. Lex hovered in beside his comrades and quickly took up Tipps’ gun, and now they stood back to back, marching in a grim circle and never taking their hand off the trigger. Time started to seem to blur then to Lex, everything slowed down as he hit a gargoyle going straight for him. The beast was mortally wounded but still had fight left, and still had momentum. A broken wing dropped it lower than it was aiming and it plummeted, right into the leg of Lex’s scout, crushing the metal. Lex’s mech fell sideways and the head’s neck snapped as the shoulder hit hard. Lex was unharmed but everything went dark. The seal on the hull broke and Lex could hear the battle raging outside. Slowly the sound of both dieing Gargoyles and gunfire stopped, and a few mighty thuds were heard, and then it was just the rain, tapping on his fallen mech. Lex was relieved to see his hatch open up when he tried too get out. He crawled out over the arm of the machine, and the dead smelly beast that had fallen atop it. The rain was so hard and the smoke so thick he couldn’t see more than twenty yards. Then the commander flew into view, a gargoyle in hot pursuit. This gargoyle was wearing a robe and had a staff, and a lighting bolt flew from its end, turning Michael’s mech in mid-flight in a complete circuit before slamming to the ground. "NOOOOOO!" Lex pulled the too long spear from his dead gargoyles hands and started for the spell weaver. There was nothing humans hated more than gargoyles, or if there was, it was spell weaving gargoyles. With his bionic arm throwing the spear, it would have surely impaled the demon, but the gargoyle broke the missile with a flick of a finger and its pieces flitted harmlessly away. He sent a bolt of black energy that hit Lex in the chest and he immediately winked right out of existence. Lex awoke a day later with a splitting headache, but otherwise completely rested and healed in a jail cell that looked more appropriate for horses or cattle. The only things he could discern for certain was the stench of gargoyles and a thumping and drumming in his ears that he could not make out. After many minutes he figured it out… a great throng of cheering and booing, several levels above him… |

Re: The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
OoC: Sweet! Let’s get this party started!
The crowd held their breath in anticipation. Then all the sudden… a purple haired kid was thrown out of the gate. He flew all the way across the arena toward J. Just before hitting the ground the kid used a wind spell to hold himself in place and gently landed on the ground in front of J. “… hello…” J said not really sure what to do. He had been expecting some kind of monster, and so, apparently had the crowd. Boos erupted from the stands. They had gone crazy, stomping there feet and making as much noise as possible. A tomato hit J in the back of the head. “Gross. I hate tomatoes.” Then all manner of vegetables and fruit started to peg J and the kid. “SILENCE!” Screamed Tralisia over the loud speakers. “Puny as this boy may look. He is a master magician and has survived countless battles. Many have died by his hand… His magic is unsurpassed… I give you! CAMDEL" The crowd started to mumble to each other at this. Some started cheering, others booing, and the waves of flung vegetation never ceased. “And in this corner, strait from the swamps of the barbarous world of bargu, tal…van. I give you… ALEXIA!!!” Lex was thrown out of the gate landing on his feet twenty feet from the gate. His boots flung out right behind him. The crowds’ response was the same as last, Lex caught an apple out of thin air with his bionic arm and thew it back at the person responsible. It splattered against a force field that protected the stands. Some of the crowd liked this. Others threw more fruit. “He is a cyborg with incredible strengths and a cunning mind and has survived many impossible missions.” Another wave of noise came from the stands. “And finally! The final challenger! From the Drainor Province in the backward plant of Spugortha. The shadow wielding sorcerer… RALIS!!!” The kid was thrown out of the gate and landing on his feet right next to Lex. “These will be the teams! The first team to kill both of the others will win and be sent back to there home planet!” she yelled over the arenas speakers. “LET THE BATTLE OF THE CENTURY BEGIN!” The crowd somehow managed to make more noise than ever before. “So Camdel, names J. ill be your teammate this evening.” ![]() Last edited by I)ragon11; 01-28-2007 at 05:12 PM. |

Re: The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
OoC: Is there a way you guys usually do teams? Do you do one team goes and then the other team goes or do you stagger it?
BiC: Lex viewed this change of events with stoic disgust. The boy at the far end in his shiny metal suit was the only familiar thing in the entire stadium. Lex thought he saw a design similar to ones the technitians had put into his mechs back home. It was definatly human made armor. There were also a few gargoyles in the stands, including some particularly roudy ones that were responsible for the apple, and were consentrating all their plant life at him. Lex had paid more attention to them thus far, considering his teamate and enemies far less dangerous and mere children who wouldn't even be through with vocational school yet. "They wouldn't even be old enough to enter the academy," he told himself; "what manner of magic could they have learned in so short a span?" Lex dispatched the fruit and vegetable in spectaular fashion, he switched his gun to semi auto and nothing but juice hit him. Then Lex looked to his teamate, particularly his shadow. In ultraviolet there was definatly something going on with his shadow. Almost like static on a screen if it was working improperly. Then the shadow started taking actions of its own, while Ralis stood quite still. The shadow was running on the ground, and as it approached the opponents it pulled itself completely off the ground and became three dimensional. Lex stood agahst as a rotten head of lettuce hit him in the back of the head "what manner of devilry is this?" The shiny one saw the shadow coming, just as it decked the other young sorcerer in the face. The soldier saw the source and took aim immediatly. A plasma shot erupted from the end of his arm, heading straight for an oblivious Ralis. Lex watched dumbfounded "the fool will be killed!" He quickly stepped in the way and put his arm out to shield the blast. The shot was decieving, though small the blast spread out around his unharmed arm and splashed into his face. Lex backed a step and put his arm down to reveal a slightly sunnburned looking face, ready for a fight. Ralis's concentration was broke "you stepped into me! My shadow warroir was ready to make a weapon to defeat that upstart Camdel." "Ahh, so you know each other." Lex said condesendingly as he started for his boots. "I've heard of him, and they just said his name! Look if you don't care about the fight, at least stay out of my way." Ralis shot right back. "And you'll defeat them singlehandedly I suppose?" "A warrior does what he must!" "You were ... whatever, look can you fly?" "No, why." Ralis said, his legs tensing as the opponents approached. The soldier was by far the faster, the young spell weaver was holding his nose and trying to keep up. "Because..." Lex said, "because this!" Right as the soldier was about to engage with him, Lex blasted into the air and grabbed Ralis by his sword on his back. It made for a nice harness and didn't choke him but he was upset and surprised nonetheless. "What are you doing?" "Changing the battle tactic" Lex said. Ralis was getting angry, he looked up at Lex and Lex thought he might attack, and was even more worried when Ralis's hand caught on fire and it went up his arm. Lex almost dropped him, when suddenly he turned and released the fire in a great fire ball, right at the two on the ground. Last edited by quick_silver20; 01-24-2007 at 11:43 AM. |

Re: The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
Before J knew it a shadow had ran up and punched Camdel in the face. J looked over at the other two and notice it was attached to the kid. He quickly took am and shot at the kid. It would have hit him if not for the cyborg.
“Are you alright?” J asked Camdel. “Fine, don’t worry about me.” “Here take this.” J said giving Camdel an extra earpiece. "Put it in your ear." J turned his attention to the other two who had started bickering. Thinking now could be his chance J started sprinting at the two aided by his thrusters. Just as he was upon them the man grabbed the kid and flew strait into the air. Ralis’s arm then caught fire and he threw a fireball at Camdel. Camdel cast a shield around him and wasn’t hurt by the flames at all as they dissolved against it. “Give me a push will ya.” J said for only Camdel to hear. J got a running start and jumped ten feet into the air, Camdel did as he was told and created a gust of wind that pushed J up another twenty feet strait at Lex and Ralis. J shot a blast at them and then got ready to bring them down. OoC: I kinda wanted to here how the mutants threw you guys into the arena. (and stung you so you can use magic again.) There’s no order to posting, but it should not be: me, meta-link, me, meta-link, kinda thing. |

Re: The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
He shivered in the cold, dank and dripping cell. He steel bars kept him trapped in the prison. He tried to jimmy the lock with his shadow, but he couldn't feel any magic and his sword and gauntlets had been taken. Ralis kicked the bars, over and over again, trying to dent it and break out. Fire wouldn't from from his hands either. He felt very drowsy and dreary. He looked at his ribs and saw a small injection mark. He had definitely been drugged.
Ralis grabbed the bars, shook them loudly, and yelled, "Get my the hell out of here, NOW!" His plight had been heard as the familiar mutant who shot him paraded to his cell, flinging the key back and forth between his hands. "Yes, you will be set free and you will go home soon enough, O Dark One," it said. "What about all my weapons and my powers?" Ralis asked. "We have the antidote for the sedative, but we won't give that to you or your weapons until you reach the arena, O Dark One," it replied. "Arena... and why are you calling me that?" Ralis asked. "Your powers... Dark One," it said as it snapped its fingers and two brutish mutants came and carried Ralis to a large metal gate. They gave Ralis his weapons and injected him with the antidote before tossing him through the gate and the metal bars closed shut. "I never sighed up for this!" he said as he was thrust into the air, but quickly landed on his feet next to man whom the announcer said was Lex. After knocking him out of the shadow state, Lex hoisted him in the air and Ralis thrust fireballs at a strange looking human with a metal suit covering his body. Lex swerved in the air, getting Ralis dizzy. Then the bionic man sprung into the air, aided by Camdel on the ground and hit Ralis and Lex, sending them plummeting to the ground below. Lex landed on his feet and ran toward J. "I guess I'll take care of Camdel, and if you can't handle J by yourself, you're free to ask me," Ralis said as he charged toward Camdel. "Time for a little show Camdel, just don't blink!" Ralis knelt to the ground and outstretched his hand toward Camdel. Camdel got into a blocking stature, but he didn't expect Ralis's next move. Camdel was grabbed by a dark figure from behind, a sword held to Camdel's throat. It was his own shadow! Camdel tried to stuggle but gazed in awe when he saw Ralis hurtle a giant fireball at the two before laughing. |

Re: The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
OoC: In this post, ill start with how Camdel was released, then ill continue with the fight.
BiC: Camdel sat up from the brass chair he was sitting on when he heard keys clinking together on the other side of the lock. A man with the legs of a horse that looked strikingly like a centuar from Camdel's world opened the door. "Time for a game" he said gruffly with the hint of a smile on his lips. "What game?" Camdel asked, wary that any 'game' from these people probably involved a lot of bloodshed. "A battle to the death, with you a contestent." "What is the prize?" "Freedom" "And my powers?" "They will be administered beforehand. Come, we have talked long enough." Camdel followed him down a hallway, excited to get his powers back, but nervous that he would have to fight someone. They climbed two flights of long stairs, and when they reached the top, his guard held up a needle. He jabbed it into Camdel's arm. Camdel felt the warm rush of magic leeping from his arm to everywhere in his body. He smiled a warm smile, which was a rare thing. They neered an iron gate, and Camdel was heaved from the ground by a man-boar. The mutant roughly threw him halfway across an arena, but Camdel gently glided down using his wind magic, landing right next to a man with a metal suit. OoC: Now, back to where we left off. BiC: Camdel was shocked at this turn of events. His own shadow! How is this possible? Camdel could summon Shadow Wraiths and cast shadow spells, but this was diffrent. Camdel suddenly remembered when he and his sister sparred, and how she had killed his Shadow Wraith with a light spell. He pointed his hand at his shadow, and thought of a spell that was one of his favorite. "Sunorath!" He yelled. A small version of the sun erupted from his palm, turning his shadow to dust. It appeared where it normally was, at his feet. He took a moment to summon a sword made of light, as well as an ordinary dimond amulet, that reflected the light radiating from his sword. He looked around. J and Lex were swerving around each other, shooting thier cannons. Ralis was running to help Lex out. Camdel summoned a light javilin. He hurled it at Ralis, striking him on the sight and sending him of balence, crashing to the floor. He got up wide eyed at the fact that Camdel had beat his own shadow. They ran towards each other, swords in hand. |

Re: The UnderWorld Arena (up to five people)
Lex, honestly, had been in so many battles that he was more at home in the air in combat than on the ground, but the obvious advantage was lost on Ralis. Lex was slightly preoccupied changing his gun's settings to shot gun with his free arm, realizing this would soon be a close range battle by the looks of it, so that when he changed course slightly to avoid hitting the invisible shield above their heads, Ralis acted as though he was going to be sick, and one of his arms dropped out of the loops of his sword harness taking the flight completely out of balance. Lex tried to correct their flight and noticed too late that the soldier was way closer to them than he should've been able to get on his own, and then he fired. Lex groaned and debated dropping the boy for his foolishness for a solid three seconds as he realized the shot would connect and he could do nothing to stop it. But he realized Ralis was probably just out of his comfort zone and coudn't cope with midair combat. Lex saw his opportunity and cut power to his boots and turned, so the shot hit him square in the back of the trench coat and was absorbed completely, keeping Ralis from harm and from being taken completely out of the fight. Lex dropped grudgingly to the ground and let him off to engage Camdel, and set his sights on the soldier. Lex took back to the air and did a midair kick, cutting the power to one boot to stick it out in front of him as he decended on his prey like a hawk. The kick would have landed, but he realized too late that J was playing his game, acting like he didn't see, and sprung to the side with more than enough time to dodge and make his own attack. Lex hadn't noticed the clawed fingers on the end of his gun arm, and these he swiped at Lex, and Lex missed them by a hair. Lex aimed his shotgun right for the sodier's face, and it hit, but did little more than slightly dent and discolor the metal of his masked face. Lex landed now on his metal arm in a one armed hand stand, and swiped one foot and then the other at his opponent, J dodged the first spectacularly, but the second hit and sent him flying to the side, and J responded by turning in midair and thrust himself right back at Lex without touching the ground.
