Power of the Inferno (Zorolo, Puck)

Damn! They're all over me! Rex dodged to the side as a gaping maw lined with razor-sharp teeth grazed his armor. Why are they attacking? I didn't even do anything! Using the momentum from the turn, the fire adept finished a complete turn and brought his sword down over the beast's skull. The wolf crumpled to the ground in a lifeless heap. But before Rex could rest, the rest of its pack of five came rushing in.

Parrying the first wolf as it came rushing in with its mouth open, he ducked another as it leapt overhead. Throwing the canine off of his blade, the outnumbered warrior rolled to the side, holding his blade out and catching one of the others on its underside. It whimpered a bit, and remorse flashed over Rex's face. The last thing he wanted to do was kill these innocent animals. But as another wolf came at his throat, he instinctively raised his hand and fired off a ball of flames. The beast tumbled down, landing at Rex's feet as smoke poured from its mouth.

With three more wolves circling him, Rex knew he couldn't keep fighting them all. They jumped in unison, and the only human around dropped to one knee and covered his head. As he came up and the pack landed, he used his powers to create his shield, keeping it around him at fist but then extending it to catch the animals. As their tails caught fire, they finally decided they'd had enough and ran off into the surrounding woods.

Sighing heavily, the man relaxed against a tree. Like the rest of the wooden sentinals around him, this one stretched far into the sky and spread its boughs wide. Still, sunlight streamed through easily, warming the forest floor and keeping Rex in some good spirits. Creating even that amount of fire was exhausting to him without the demon's power inside him. Being a mere mortal, he could not sustain such fighting for too long. Sitting down heavily with his back still to the tree, he opened his map to study it. The temple should have been quite close. But he could see nothing through the trees in any direction. Pulling out a compass to compliment his map, he redirected himself and found his course.

Random wolf attacks and unpleasant travelling had worn the adept down. He had been in the forest for only a few days, but the terrain was hilly and the ground was rock-strewn. He had to constantly remind himself why he was traveling to this fire temple. A spirit of the flames was said to still reside in the ancient building. Seeing as Rex was closest to that particular element, he was hoping the spirit might be able to help him in his search for the other remaining member of his family.

Picking himself up, Rex began making his way in the proper direction once more, hoping there were no more animals as vicious as those wolves willing to take up the fight.

Re: Power of the Inferno (Zorolo, Puck)

OoC: Dude, sweet opening. I'm happy you decided you wanted to do this.

BiC: "DAMN YOU REX!" Zorlo shouted as the massive clawed arm of the jungle camouflaged creature came toward the fencer, who jumped back as the creature's arm crashed into the ground, and then pulled dirt out and threw it to the side. The swordsman rested his hand on the handle of his sword and moved into a striking position, but he would first have to wait for the monster to attack again. Stupid map... Rex told me that old man's maps were indecisively, one hundred percent, correct, and yet I'm totally lost, being attacked by whatever this thing is. What a day... what a damn day, the Aura Master thought.

The creature stood at about nine feet tall, easily looking down at the fencer with its massive, black eyes. This creature was no doubt old, having moss and other strange fungi growing upon its hide, allowing it to blend better into its surroundings then other creatures. The monster had small horns upon its head, and three red stripes running down the center of its face, one over each eye, and one running down to the tip of the beast's nose. Its massive arms were muscle bound with sharp claws upon the hands, which also seemed to emanate with a small amount of magic. The creature's massive legs had its knees bent at about a forty five degree angle, and the creature had massive hooves on its feet, making its steps appear like that of a horse, which was the thing that had thrown the fencer off in the first place.

The green haired man stepped back, taking a deep breath and relaxing his body, getting ready for the next attack the creature was bound to make. The monster stepped forwards slightly, getting ready to make a similar attack to before, the fencer guessed. The Aura Master was ready, grasping the hilt of his sword as suddenly, the creature made its move, charging at the swordsman, who made a quick move and drew his sword, severing the monster's arm, which flew in the air for a moment before hitting the ground.

Blood sprayed from the creature's arm as it cried in pain, looking at the lost arm and crying, but this did not stop it. The monster seemed to only get more angry and swung its other arm, transforming four trees into trents, or tree people, and ordering them to attack the fencer in the beast's strange language.

The fencer had seen these creatures before, mostly because his Master, Cenarius, had summoned one, which he sent out to retrieve the fencer's lover, Selene, from some strange dimension. The Trents struck, launching themselves into the air, but the fencer was all to read, as he quickly began to make some fancy foot work and cut the wooden creatures into parts, splintering all of them in four simple movements. The fencer shook his sword to the side and then charged, striking at the creature again.

The creature wasted no time, charging in opposition to the fencer, which turned out to be a mistake, as, after the two met in a quick strike, the beast had the fencer's sword driven into its chest. It coughed up a small amount of blood and moved back, sliding itself from the green haired man's blade and fleeing back into the forest to go recover. Its shrieks of pain and agony rained out, but the Aura Master simply ignored them, cleaning and then sheathing his sword as he headed back towards where he was heading.

It didn't take long before he recalled how insanely lost he was. The forest around him all seemed the same, but something about the auras around him seemed amiss in the seemingly endless green of the landscape. Before long, the Aura Master spotted something that seemed to be very misplaced and moved towards it, a strange building of sorts he guessed. Hopefully it was somewhere he would be able to find out where he was and where to head next.

Re: Power of the Inferno (Zorolo, Puck)

The forest was deathly, the birds had stopped signing long ago, and it seemed only the animals ready to kill where wandering this part of the forest. Kaze’s dirty blond hair was dancing playfully in the wind, as he walked slowly along the forest depths. He smiled enjoying the seclusion; it was a nice change from the busy cities or rat infested marshes. He enjoyed being alone every once in a while the quiet air suited him, but as all things must come they also must go. He was being followed, he had been for hours, four to the left, four to the right, and two from behind, eventually he stalkers would strike, what would they have to lose, ten against one, it would be like taking candy from a baby.

Almost suddenly he felt a quick pain in his back the, would be assassin smiled as his blade started to sink in, but his smile all but left as he flew backwards by an unseen force. Kazaisu stifled a chuckle as the rest of their group emerged from the forgery, all with similar style daggers.

“Like a moth to the flame,” Kaze whispered under his breath before speaking to the whole group with his usual cocky tone, “Ten against on small boy, seems unfair, so I cut you deal, I will give up if any of you can strike me once,”

“Who do you think you are kid?” A middle-aged man with a scar across his face sneered.

“The bringer of your destruction,” That must have sounded cool, “The cold rain pierces the soul, while the chilling wind ravages the mind” As soon as he spoke his Prima Incantatio all ten bandits that surrounded him felt a shiver going up their spine, small at first till it engulfed them like a storm they felt frozen, and as fast as it came the feeling left, leaving them with a small bit of fear in their hearts.

The one who spoke struck first, his blade was slashing downwards only to be blocked as the “boy” created a cross with his arms, causing a thin black shield to block the attack, the large thief was to shocked to block a ventus vesica which slashed up his torso, and sent him back several feet. ,”One arrow of ice,” Kaze sneered impaling the overconfident man’s throat with a light blue icicle.

At once five of them surrounded the caped stranger, and with fairly bad synchronization they all leapt at once hoping the boy wouldn’t be able to black, an assaults from all sides. And all at once they all failed to hit, as Kazaisu flew straight up leaving them crash into each other. All eighteen eyes looked up at the flying man is disbelief, and using this lack of judge meant to his advantage three of the watches found their heads incased in water. Fighting violently to escape, each one by one succumbed to lack of air, and fell over without breath.

“Four down six to go,” Kaze laughed as his cape danced through the air. Another attempted to attack throwing his dagger into the sky towards the boy with the blue tunic, but to his dismay the blade stopped only an inch from his skin, to turn around, and fly back, stabbing its owner in the chest a stream of blood soon followed staining the lush ground. This all happening while Kaze preformed another hand seal, and as it finished a large rock moved itself from the ground, and proceeded to crush, and kill yet another bandit brutally.

Four still stood ready to attack, but a lightning bolt took one by surprise, shooting at an angle just enough to blast him about seven feet in the air, “Seven arrows of ice,” He chanted as the arrows flew downwards faster then the man. All seven pierced his body before he hit the ground. The remaining three took a long look at each other, before the turn tailed and fled, leaving a laughing Kazaisu behind.

“Well that was fun,” he laughed looking at the carnage around him, “Pity I do hate killing people, but sometimes it needs to be done,” Right then a noise took his ears, it sounded like a cry, a scream neither human nor animal in nature, some sort of monster was crying for help. I guess curiosity killed took the cat, as the Archmage of wind followed his ears silently to the noise. He ran only for a few minutes leading himself to a clearing, taking caution he made a supported leapt into a large tree branch to watch the battle between thicket.

His eyes followed as a green haired man took one a large horned beast, and four tree beings, and he continued to watch as the green haired man became victorious defeating all five of the creatures before heading on his way. Hmm a powerful warrior walking the woods alone, defeating several large monsters, and still continuing on his way, I may be fairly new to this adventuring thing, but he seems to be following something certain, probably a valuable treasure. I think it would be worth the while watching him…at least till I get bored,

Re: Power of the Inferno (Zorolo, Puck)

"North by northwest the map says. North by northwest my compass says. But where is it? Nowhere." He crushed his map as he shoved it violently back into his pocket. Throwing his compass out past his visibility, he heard an odd sound as it hit something definitely not made of wood. Running as he got up, he cleared the tree line in front of him and stumbled upon what he was searching for. A large building loomed before him.

It was three stories high and made completely of worn red brick. Weather and the forest around the temple had worn the color down to a faded version of its old splendor. Vines clung to the bricks, covering much of the walls. Even the entrance had creepers hanging down, clouding Rex's view of some kind of entrance hall. Most of it was shrouded in shadow, anyway.

The fire adept marveled at its size around. It covered at least half an acre judging by the one wall. He didn't know if the building was quite so square, though. For all he knew it could be quite rectangular, thus covering more of the forest. If not for the thick trees he would've seen it quite easily before he even left the nearest town. Moving toward the entrance, Rex pulled at the vines so he could get in.

These are a lot stronger than they looked, he thought as he began tugging. Soon he realized it was a futile effort, and moved to pull out his sword. Before he began tugging he heard a familiar voice hail him from behind.

OoC: Sorry it's so short. I need to get back into this. >_<

Re: Power of the Inferno (Zorolo, Puck)

The fencer moved slowly towards the red brick building, looking about the wall he had found himself looking upon. The green haired man placed his hand upon the brick, and suddenly a strange power rushed into the swordsman's mind. A strange, gray colored aura ran up his arm, the energy slowly entering the fencer's eyes, forcing him to see something that he could not explain.

The images that entered the green haired man's eyes were terrifying, some great force that could do little more then destroy everything in its path. White flames engulfed every piece of land that they touched, swallowing the life from the land indignantly. Other warriors stepped up to fight this creature, the one the fencer was seeing through eyes, and only found themselves dead, that is, until one warrior.

A man in gray plate armor appeared, holding a glowing yellow bladed saber with a brown handle. The blade itself seemed to be made of energy, emanating brightly from the hilt. The gray armored man's hair was semi-long, and white in color, and a wide smile crossed his face. On the crest plate of the gray armored warrior was a dragon's head engraved into the armor itself. The eye of the dragon was a gray stone that shone brightly, the man's sword burning intensely as he held it tightly. The gray armored man had a staff along his back which had a glowing blue orb atop it, the orb radiating bright energy as it remained strapped to the man's back.

The white haired man smiled as he placed his hand upon the staff that had latched to his back, removing it from its straps and a bright light exploded from it. The blue light engulfed the creature, making it scream in pain as the gray armored warrior attacked, swinging his blade wildly and holding his staff out, blasting off a powerful blue energy blast. The creature the fencer was seeing through eyes went blank for a short while, and suddenly, the fencer watched from the eyes of the dragon's corpse.

The only reason the swordsman knew that the creature was a dragon was he watched as the soul of the beast was drawn into the silver orb in the gray armored warrior's chest, absorbing the energy of it as the man held the orb out. The soul of the dragon fought angrily against the containment energy of the white haired man's entrapment orb. The white haired warrior dropped his sword, the energy blade fading out as the gray armored warrior fell to the ground, dying.

Slowly, the fencer's sight returned, looking around at where he had been before. The green haired man looked upon the temple moving back, wondering why he had seen the vision he had been given. What was that? the Aura Master asked, stepping back, holding his head as two energies entered his mind. One of them was all to familiar; whereas the other was new and very strange at the same time.

The fencer walked towards the familiar power, smiling brightly as he did so, knowing that a friend was nearby. The fencer walked towards the fire innate, Rex, and smiled. "REX!" Zorlo yelled, smiling brightly as the man turned to look at him.

"Zorlo?" the fire innate asked, turning and smiling at the warrior. "Why are you here?" the swordsman asked the fencer.

"YOU! You told me that old man's maps were foolproof, and yet I'm utterly lost in the middle of these woods looking upon this strange structure! What is this thing anyway?" the Aura Master asked his friend.

"This is a temple, and I'm here to claim the fire spirit that lives within. Care to join?" the formerly demon infused boy asked.

"Of course I would, but first, you can come out now! I know you are there, trying to hide from me!" the fencer yelled into the woods, waiting for whatever watched the two swordsmen.

Re: Power of the Inferno (Zorolo, Puck)

The blue capped man sat crouched nervously on a tree branch, his gloved hand tapping the truck impatiently as he peered through folds of green to the two men below, Definitely adventurers He thought to himself Now the only reason two powerful warriors would travel through dense wood, and treacherous passes such as these is for some unimaginable treasure of unbelievable proportions, if I can just follow them… the teenager lost himself in thought of riches completely ignoring the two he was supposed too be spying on.

“Come on out, I know your there trying to hide from me,” No response. The Fencer tried again.

“GET OUT OF THAT TREE I BOY I KNOW YOUR THERE,”

“Huh,” Startled Kaze attempted to take a step back, only to find nothing was there, “YAHHH!” after crashing through about five brick branched the boy landed with a loud thud several meters down in a small clearing. He sort of stayed there for a few minutes till he remembered he had company. With a quick movement he tried to regain his dignity by leaping to his feet, and brushing off the dirt from his clothes, and turning to them with an arrogant look.

“A spy Zorlo? You should have stopped him sooner,”

“Yeah, but it was more fun this way,”

“I suppose you make a good point,”

“You two realize I can hear you right!” The boy yelled at them from across the clearing.

“What’s your name boy,” Zorlo drew his rapier and pointed it menacingly at the follower, "Don’t make me, make you, tell me,”

“Sheesh, no need to make a fuss about it.” The Archmage replied before turning his face to the wind for his usual flashy introduction, “I am Kazaisu the Archmage of wind,” As he spoke the wind picked up blowing his hair, and cape back, “I am the bringer of storms, the master of the waves, and the ruler of the weather,” The wind slowed down, and died, ‘You may call me Kaze, and you two are,”

“Zorlo, fencer of the Tasogare,”

“I’m rex, and your going no further,” The fire innate stated bluntly.

“And why not,”

“Simple,” Zorlo butted in, “You chased me through the woods, and are obviously just looking for treasure, and we don’t know you so we can’t trust you,”

“I suppose,” Kaze stated bringing his gloved hand to his chin, as if to think, “But if I go, I’ll tell ever traveler in a fifty mile radius where this place is, and it’ll be swarming by night fall,” With a sly smile the Archmage continued, “But if you let me stay, and journey with you guys, then it’ll only be the three of us. Better one freed loader then thousands, eh,” The Green haired fencer, and the black haired fire warrior turned to each, and through mumbles, and indecision replied to him after about a ten minute period of Kaze tapping his foot.

‘Fine, in one condition,” Zorlo stated.

“That is,”

“You don’t do anything dumb,” Rex stated simply before turning around towards the entrance of the ancient building, Zorlo soon followed suite as the two began walking. Much to their surprise the young Kaze ran up beside them, and put an arm around each of their shoulder jokingly.

“Then its settled, where a team, like the three musketeers,” At the same time Rex, and Zorlo brought up there left, and right fist accordingly, and smashed the new comers nose, causing him to fall back as the two continued forward.

Whipping blood from his upper lip Kaze valiantly returned to his feet, “I have a feeling I’m not wanted,” No response, “Whatever, wait up,”

oC: Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, and sorry for taking so long, i givw both of you a free hit in the face, i'll give you my address if need be.

Edit: If you noticed that post made no sense it was because I somehow copy, and pasted only half of it. Sorry...again.

Re: Power of the Inferno (Zorolo, Puck)

OoC: I GET PUCK'S ADDRESS!!! Unfortunately, I already have it. And I know you're too far away. ;_; WHAT STALKER?!

BiC:

Rex continued onward, not minding the boy rushing up behind them. He was arrogant, a trait the fire wielder didn't appreciate. The title he gave himself was enough to earn his dislike of the boy. He was certainly a pompus fool. Still, he was a pompus fool who was stuck with them. It was better that he try to take a liking to him.

Turning around to talk to him, Rex nearly tripped with his mouth wide open. Zorlo had put an arm out to stop him from stepping any further. Turning quickly, he gave the fencer a glare.

"There's a trap," he said simply. Turning, Rex scanned the environment ahead of him. He stared, but saw nothing.

"I think you're just-" he was cut off by Zorlo's glare. "Okay, okay. Then how do you propose we disarm it?"

"I'm not sure. We could step over it, but there are so many in one area it'd be nearly impossible to miss them all. We could trip them, but that would block our path." Closing his eyes, Rex let his senses flow out into the bricks around them. The light from the entrance still shone brightly, but by this point torches had been set on the walls to provide more lighting. He felt out a little, but then noticed something. The torches were lit.

"The torches..." he pointed out, but Zorlo had already noticed. He nodded quickly. "Were we expected?" He was met with a shrug from both companions. "Maybe it's just a spell. This is a fire temple, after all."

"How about we get a rock from outside?" Kaze interjected. Both of them looked at him, then at each other. Rex shrugged.

"Simple, yet effective. We can blast through whatever comes out, right? What kind of trap is it?" Before he could answer, something triggered in the back of Rex's mind. He hadn't brought his mind fully back from the probing. Looking the two others in the eyes, he mouthed one word. Lava.

"How did it get here?" Kaze asked.

"Fire temple," Rex reiterated. "So you get the rock, I'll deflect the flames!"

"You can deflect lava?"

"Lava's almost fire, right? I should be able to. Quickly, the rock!" Zorlo looked at Kaze, who then gave a sigh and walked outside to retrieve the rock. While he was gone, the two friends looked at each other. "What do we do with him?" Rex asked.

"We'll have to deal. We don't want treasure hunters all around." With a shrug, Rex turned back toward the entrance, where Kaze was coming back with a good-sized boulder.

"That'll do," Rex said appreciatively. Kaze gave a smile. Returning the smile, Rex pointed to the area ahead of the trio. The archmage tossed the rock, and it landed with a resounding thud. After a few moments, Rex gave a skeptical look to Zorlo. Saying nothing, the fencer just nodded toward the boulder.

The temple began to rumble, and Rex looked all around. The walls began seeping at first, but soon they exploded with the lava rushing into the entryway. The fire mage stepped in front of the other two and extended his palms, hoping he could manipulate the way he thought he could. The liquid fire rushed toward him and stopped before him. As it kept rushing in, the lava slowly made its way closer. With a roar, Rex pushed back as he fought against the tide. Harnessing his power, he shoved forward, slowly making progress.

"Stay close!" he yelled behind him. Step by agonizing step, he made his way into the hall.

OoC: >_> NEXT!

Re: Power of the Inferno (Zorolo, Puck)

OoC: And so it commences...

BiC: The fencer looked at the lava, and then at the fire innate, knowing exactly how long it would be. Rex could hold this lava back for now, but his magical energy was being strained. Zorlo had recalled the fire mage telling him about the demon that left its mark within him, and that had been where the youth drew his fire magic from, but with that gone, Rex had effectively lost most of his power. The green haired man wouldn't have much of a choice, the lava was far to large a quantity to simply try to hold back, even for a fire innate.

The three travelers were now surrounded by lava on all sides of them, encircled by it with only the fire innate protecting them, but this wasn't anything beyond normal for Zorlo. What fun was traveling if your life wasn't on the line? Perhaps, though, a bit of aid was all that was needed to help the three get through this trap.

The boulder began to superheat, and even though the lava did not dissolve it wholly, it chipped and washed away as the sea of flames continued to try to engulf it. The Aura Master knew all outcomes of this situation could lead to only one thing: The ultimate goal of the three travelers. The boulder proved almost to easy to move for the fencer and the archmage, and the fire mage's powers held back the lava, but the hallway didn't seem to be drawing towards an end any time soon, and it seemed Rex was growing tired.

"Rex, are you okay?" the fencer asked, looking at the boy who seemed to strain his mind trying to hold back the blazing sea.

"I'll be fine!" the youth responded, his eyes filled with the shear, overwhelming force of trying to contain so great a source of heat energy.

"Rex..." the fencer stated, looking at Kaze. "Okay, I think he needs some help, and seeing as you are a mage, you could perhaps help him."

"Not gonna happen," the wind mage stated, looking at the fencer. "My skill in fire magic, they aren't exactly the best," the archmage stated.

"Not good," the Aura Master stated, looking around. "Liquid flames... I've used my powers to control fire before, should work similarly," Zorlo stated as the two mages looked at him quizzically. "Okay, Rex, when I give the signal, you and Kaze move that boulder with everything you've got and I'll try to contain this sea of fire for a little while."

"What are you talking about Zorlo?!" Rex asked, his mind growing weaker from the severe strain.

"Don't worry about it and just listen, I think he might have an idea," the elementalist stated.

"I do, now go!" the Aura Master yelled out as the two began to shove the massive rock with everything they had. "Now then, to test to see if my powers are truly what I think they are," the fencer stated, standing in the center of the circle of fire as it came cascading towards him, like a sea of death and destruction. "I shan't die here," he stated, a green flame emerging as the lava converged upon him.

"ZORLO!" Rex yelled out as he looked back, watching as a sphere of pure lava stood where the fencer had once been. The fire mage returned to using his powers, keeping the lava from himself and Kaze now, but something seemed different. Although Zorlo had been engulfed in lava, the lava didn't seem to move closer to Kaze or Rex from behind them, and the sides began to thin out slowly. "What's happening?" the fire innate asked.

"I don't know, but let's keep going!" the archmage yelled and Rex returned to pushing the boulder, quickly covering the rest of the distance and get to opposite side of the pathway and looking at the entrance to the next room.

"I can't believe that happened," the fire innate stated, looking back, but finding something most peculiar. The sphere of lava stood silently, swirling, drawing the lava around it in, controlling it seemingly. "What the hell?!" the youthful warrior asked, staring in awe.

The Aura Master stood inside of the sphere of lava and had been swirling his aura in a circle in order to draw it away from Kaze and Rex and make their escape easier, but now that he sensed they had gotten away from the lava, it was time to make his own. The green haired man's eyes opened and the lava sphere exploded, scattering it back within its own sea, and a green flame stood in the center of what had been the sphere, but now pushed off from the crater in the center of the lake, making a hard, quick move for where the others were.

The fencer's aura was drained, but not used up, and he used it, as best he could, to protect his shoes and feet from burns as he pushed off the lava, almost appearing to be running on the liquid flames towards the other two. After a few seconds of this, he had made it to the other side and slammed into the mages, knocking them into the next room.

The green haired warrior rolled over as he landed, looking into the room he and his compatriots now found themselves in. The fire innate and the archmage both looked about this new room as well, pondering where they now found themselves. The room was circular in shape and had torches lining the wall every few feet apart, giving ample light in the room. The floors had engraved markings that, to someone who hadn't studied the language, appeared rather frivolous and unimportant. The ceiling was in the shape of a cone with an almost snake like coil running around it. On the other side of the room from where the warriors had entered, a door of magma stood with neither a handle, nor any apparent means of opening it.

"Any ideas?!" the fencer asked, looking at the other two, hoping they had some better idea on how to deal with this situation then he did. The fencer was exhausted from pouring so much of his energy into forcibly controlling the raging sea of flames and to try to damage magma with his reduced energy would be foolish. He'd need time to regain his power before he could try anything like that.

Re: Power of the Inferno (Zorolo, Puck)

OoC: Not even a week, wow i'm improving. Now I demand gifts for my timly reply.

BiC:

“Any ideas?” the green haired warrior asked, his question seemingly more directed at his friend, other then the tag along. Kaze still pondered the situation with some intensity, by his reckonings the magma door, that stood at least ten feet high, had no means of opening. Its hot lava center seemed to intertwine with the black rocks, laving any who would touch scarred, and burnt. The Archmage, Kaze, put his hand on his chin thoughtfully, and came up with what he thought was a solution.

“I do,” Kaze replied.

“You do?” Rex inquired, one eyebrow slightly higher then the other. It was obvious the pair didn’t trust the stranger’s abilities, and for good reason, thus far he had done next to nothing, and showed no powers other then extreme clumsiness.

“Yeah, just give me a second,”

“Take all the time you need,” Zorlo replied.

“Cold rain pierces the soul, while a chilling wind ravages the mind,” this was of course the first display of power emitted from the new comer. As he chanted his prima Incantatio, which he has done many times; the entire room seemed to go down to below freezing temperature. As such his hair seemed to rise, along with his cape as if it was being blown upwards by some unknown force, as a blue aura swirled around him, as he looked towards the ground. The pair of swordsmen exchanged confused looks as the boy finished, and looked towards the door.

“What was that,” The fire Innate questioned, breaking Kaze’s chain of thought.

“Huh,”’ he said looking over to where he, and the Green haired fencer stood, “That was my Prima Incantatio, it is a spell that awakens my powers, and allows me to use other spells, like this one, “The lake stays still, as the goddess treads upon it, the lake stays still as the frozen mistress weeps, and the lake lay frozen, when her last step is taken, Water-Frozen touch,” Like the last time he used this spell the Oxygen, and hydrogen molecules in the air weaved together forming a thick mist which swirled around Kaze’s hand, forming a swirling blue mist around it, giving him an icy touch.

“And that is?’ Zorlo this time asked, it was obvious Kaze’s powers where slightly different from the norm, instead of releasing magical power through bursts of energy he used them to create different spells with varying effects. This allowed the Archmage to adapt his fighting style to different situations. Also he seemed to chant with his spells, which s unusual in the battle world, (though for some spells he didn’t have too, but he enjoyed the feel it made)

“A water spell, simply put it allows me to freeze anything I touch to an abnormally low level,”

“And you think you can make that door cold enough to break through,”

“Warranting it doesn’t burn me first…yeah,” he smiled in delight after the short lesson he just gave; he seemed to take pleasure in his vast knowledge of spell casting.

“Then go, I am curious to see the results you can produce,” Zorlo said confident, his hands folded over his chest. Nodding the blue caped boy walked over to the door, and placed his hand on the fiery door. Gritting his teeth, and wincing his eyes at first, Kaze held on to the door, slowly relieving his face, as the place he immediately touched slowly turned cold, and hard as an ice mass formed on it; the mass grew bigger, and bigger, till it was at least two and a half feet in diameter.

Then something unpleasantly unexpected happened. The hot magma suddenly glowed a sun like orange, and engulfed the ice mass in a flash of fire, and lava, sending Kaze flying backwards holding his smoking hand. Instinctively the two who watched the explosion ran over to help the boy up, but he shrugged then off, “Its fine my spell will cool it down, and it’ll it heal within minutes,”

“Well that idea is out, any more bright ideas,” rex said shrugging his shoulders towards Zorlo.

“Well, maybe these markings have something to do with how to get out of here,” Zorlo said motioning with his head towards the ground, to which both adventurers looked down at. Kaze more importantly looked intrigued at them, almost instantly taking a book from his side, and flipping through it. He stopped a few times read a passage or two then continued, till he found what he was searching for. Pointing with his finger to a certain point he finally spoke up.

“Ancient runes, a long lost language used by ancient mages, these markings on the floor seem to be some sort of spell,”

“Well what does it say,” Rex asked as he leaned against a wall.

“Nothing important, something about a lake of fire, and a seven headed dragon, I would say it in English but it probably would be incorrectly translated.”

“Try whatever language it’s in then,”

“Umm, I’ll try, its really complicated so bare with me,” Immediately he started mumbling some incoherent words, that seemed to repeat themselves. Occasionally he would stumble over a word, only to go back and correct himself; to be honest it was a wonder the spell worked at all considering how many times he screwed up, but it did so they could thank the gods for that. As soon as he finished speaking the last word the spell took effect, and the ground started to shake, and they got a strange movement sensation, though all of them didn’t move, but as soon as Zorlo looked towards where the Magma door was his suspicion was confirmed.
“Guys, I think we are moving,”

“Why do you say that,” Rex said holding the wall as to not fall down from the vibrations.

“Look at the door,” When they did they saw what looked to be a moving wall, it appeared to be moving around them, but as they felt the strange sensation in their stomachs, they knew they where the ones moving, and up at that. Suddenly so it seemed the ground shook even more violently for a second, then stopped completely, leaving the door opened to a long hallway, lit with torches every two meters or so.

“Well that was fun see what’s in door number two,” Kaze stated as he stared to their newly found exit.

Re: Power of the Inferno (Zorolo, Puck)

OoC: Not even a month and 7 days. Ohwait. Damn. Sorry about the reply. I just haven't had the time/creativity. Don't blame me if this suxx0rz.

BiC:

The group moved down the hall in silence. Everyone was alert for any more dangers that could come their way. Senses were heightened in the gloom. Step by slow step, they eventually made their way to the end of the the corridor.

Exiting the darkness, the men were temporarily blinded by the brightness of the new room. After letting his eyes adjust, Rex noticed the shape. It was a large dome, sort of like a fighting ring. Vines clung to the walls like a child hanging on its mother. Suddenly, his gut began to tense up. This wasn't a good place.

"I have a bad feeling about this place," the fire adept piped up. The other two merely nodded. They had also sensed the menace about this place.

A flash of grey appeared in front of Rex before he found himself on the ground. Gathering his senses, he figured out what had tackled him. He leaned up on his elbow and noticed a wolf behind him, growling menacingly.

Great. Another one. He looked to the other two to explain to them that these wolves were vicious, but it seemed they had found out. Both of the other combatants were engaged in their own battles. I'm just wondering how they got here.

We guard this temple. Leave now, and we will let you. The thought growled into Rex's head. More wolves moved into the room from a corridor ahead and circled the humans.

What? Who is this?

You can hear me, yet you do not know? Only recently have you been connected to nature.

Rex then realized who was talking to him. Closing his eyes and laying back down, he calmed his mind. He searched out the threads of nature. He saw the green moving off toward the vines. Then, he saw lines of gray moving off toward the wolves. He concentrated on the one that was pulsating. The one that was speaking to him.

You're the wolf, aren't you?

Yes. Now, leave this temple. You should not be here.

Please, just let us pass. I only wish to see the fire spirit. These two only stumbled upon this place by accident. We mean no harm.

We are the guardians of this temple. Leave.

Yes, I've got that. Now I'm begging you, let us pass. We don't want to fight us.

If you want to pass, you'll have to kill us all.

Opening his eyes, Rex found his two companions shaking him.

"Rex! Are you alright? You didn't get up after that vile creature attacked you." Zorlo, being the good friend he was, had much worry in his voice. Kaze looked down upon him with indifference in his expression. Rex looked back at both of them with a crestfallen visage.

"We have to kill them. All of them."

"What?" Zorlo exclaimed. "They are not demonic creatures. I sense no evil. They are just wolves."

"They're the guardians of this temple. They won't let us pass."

"I'll make them move!" Kaze stood up and created a small tremor, knocking the wolves over. Then he ran toward the open door. Before he got far, two wolves tackled him and pinned him down. Rex just looked on.

"We have to kill them." As much as he wanted to find his sister, he didn't want to have to kill innocent animals. He unsheathed Eliendel, but his arm became limp. He could only fight if...

Zorlo's blade sliced down at Rex. Sidestepping, he realized it was needless. The wolf that had jumped at him was dead. Zorlo's eyes were stone cold. He knew he had to do it to help his friend. Rex knew he had to do it to help his sister. Steeling himself, he threw a couple of small fireballs at the wolves on top of Kaze, singing their fur.

"Finally!" Kaze exclaimed, hopping up and returning to the group. Back to back to back, they prepared for the battle ahead.

I'm sorry... Rex thought as he readied his sword.
