Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

“It’s time to die. For you.”

A lack of response failed to amaze the man with the three-cornered hat and the inky-black wings. After all, the lack of response was due to lack of people to hear them. He had only just reached the port, after all. How he loved the fresh, salt-tinged air of the sea, the gentle roar of the wind and waves, the cry of the gulls and gannets wheeling overhead. After growing up near hills and mountains, the sea seemed…special. Even as he folded his wings, hiding them from view, he wished he could unleash them, extend them to their fullest span, and fly off to race the pelicans.

The ships that piddled around the harbor, however, drew his attention away from the birds and towards a murderous business. Pirates! Pirates everywhere! They raped, pillaged, and burned. It was time for one hovel of the rats, pi-rats, to be exterminated. As a concerned citizen, Kellson could do nothing less.

Walking briskly towards the center of the port, the demi-angel wondered vaguely if, had his birth and the circumstances surrounding it been different, he could have been a pirate. Even though he detested those foul vagabonds, those leeches of society, he couldn’t help feeling drawn to the swashbuckling sailor’s life, a life with no laws.

Oh, well. People were still going to die. “I should join a city Watch somewhere,” he mused aloud. “I’d be amazing and what I’m about to do might actually be allowed.”

Pirate or not, Kellson did not follow many rules. He was a Man on a Mission.

He pushed open the double doors to the pub, adjusting his hat as he went. Ignoring the bouncers, he made for the bar.

“Hey, you!”

Well, now he couldn’t ignore them. How sad. Kellson turned and looked into the eye and eyepatch of one of the burly hired thug. Good grief, was this all the famously wealthy pirates could afford for protection? Maybe they didn’t think anyone was crazy enough to barge in and attack them. They were mistaken.

“Yeah?” he drawled.

“Leave your blades here, matey. No weapons allowed,” said one of the bouncers.

Kellson drew his sword and long knife and stabbed both pirates in the chest.

Screams and curses echoed from the bar for five long minutes, drawing a horrified—yet slightly amused—ring of bystanders around the doors. After silence fell, the doors swung open and Kellson, blood dripping from both blades, inclined his head to the masses.

“Afternoon. The Wrath of God is here.”

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

The young swordsman had found himself, not to his total amazement, utterly lost again. He wondered how in the name of the gods he always found himself in these situations, and what's more, who in the name of the gods he was always lost. His hunt for the green haired fencer had seemed to lead him awry ever since it began, and tended to always leave the young red haired fighter in bad situations. The young boy detested that green haired man, and even thinking about him made the young ice innate's blood boil and his powers begin to activate, although they did little without his sword drawn. The ice warrior stopped at the gates of a city, knowing that surely civilization could help him find his bearings.

"Dammit, what crappie luck. I'm utterly lost, and I can't even fathom where to start looking or whom to ask where in the name of the gods I am," he muttered as he walked the streets of the city, finding them to be most empty. The young boy picked up a navy blue cloth from an abandoned shop and placed it over him as a cloak to hide himself from onlookers. Being red haired was odd, but this city was far odder, seeing as there seemed to exist no living creature within her walls.

The young boy had moved around the outer edge of the city, looking for a captain or someone that would know navigation so the sword fighter could find his bearings and decide where to head from where he was currently situated. The boy walked along the docks and finally gave up and headed into the city, hoping to find someone amongst the center. It had to have people, right?

The boy's guess was more then correct, namely as he noticed that there were quite a few people, and he pulled the sleeve of one vender, hoping the man could help. "Um... Sir..." he began, looking at the brown haired man who had turned to face him. "Could you tell me where we are?"

"Don't ask. It is in your best idea to leave now, or risk being killed by pirates," the man retorted, looking away from the boy.

The young swordsman didn't say anything, and simply moved deeper into the city. Pirates eh... This place could be more fun then I thought, the young warrior told himself, moving further towards the interior of the city.

"Foolish boy," the exiled demon spoke, not to any in particular. "I can't believe that you can get so lost all of the time," the demon complained, grasping his spear tightly. "Until you find the fencer, I have to stay here and watch, occasionally using you as a puppet to help me, but you are more hassle then help."

The boy couldn't hear the whining demon and knew not of his existence. The exiled monster only effected the young boy when he was knocked out or could send subliminal impulses that may or may not effect the boy, but for the most part, they would assist him in making decisions. The boy walked into the center, where a tavern stood, and shortly after arriving, an odd man burst out, holding two weapons, a sword and a long dagger, and seemed to be blood thirsty.

“Afternoon. The Wrath of God is here," the madman stated as the masses of people ran in terror, but the boy did not leave.

No, Zachary stood unafraid of the creature that stood before him. The boy drew his sword and looked at this odd man, ready to stop him before he caused to much damage. "Hey, you!" the boy ordered, stepping forwards. "I've been looking for a strong foe, so lets dance!" he commanded, placing both of his hands on his sword. "Unless you are afraid." Leos knew the mock, if nothing else, would draw this man into combat.

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

The boy seemed a bit strange. He was clothed with strange garments, jumping out randomly to attack the deadliest man in at least a twenty mile radius…odd. Very odd. Kellson twirled his blades, flicking off most of the blood, leaving red trails along the ground below. “You’re not worth my time, kid. Besides, I’m not here for you. Beat it.”

Pushing past the young man, Kellson strode past him, trenchcoat fluttering in the wind. Now, where had that crowd gone?

A whizzing behind him made him turn slightly. A knife struck him in the shoulder, impact causing him to stagger slightly. “Jesus.”

“You are scared, then,” the man said, laughing. Kellson winced and yanked the knife out of his shoulder. Upon closer examination, he found it was made of ice. Dropping it, the demi-angel turned fully, raising his swords.

“Not smart,” he grunted, and loped forward.

The boy, sword in hand, conjured another ice knife and hurled it. Kellson was ready this time; he dove out of the way, throwing his own knife (the good, old-fashioned metal kind) as he fell. Neither steel nor ice met their mark. As the knives clattered to the sandy ground, Kellson sprang up and rushed the man, swiping and slashing. He had to give the man credit—he wasn’t bad at swordplay, though not as good as a man who could literally practice for days and nights on end without pause. As he parried, the boy grinned—rather annoyingly, in Kellson’s opinion—and said, “My name’s Zach.”

“I’ll remember to tell the undertaker that,” Kellson chuckled dryly.

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

OoC: That post was fine. Short isn't bad.

BiC: The ice innate blocked attacks thrown by the strange warrior, who swung his blade wildly at the young, red haired fighter. The ice warrior drew some of the ice element from his sword and jumped back, throwing it at the man in the shape of a sharpened rock. The man dodged and Leos took his shot, charging the man and jumping, swinging his blade down and knocking the other warrior's blade down, and forcing the strange fighter to step back. "First rule of combat: Never underestimate your opponent. I learned that the hard way," the ice innate stated, pointing his sword at the demi-angel as he spawned two more ice blades and readied them for combat. "So, show me what you've got!" The boy stated, flicking his hand and throwing the ice weapons at his foe.

The crusader charged at the boy, knocking the ice crystals away and swinging his sword, meeting the young warrior's blade, and the two stood with their blades locked. Kellson and Zachary both pushed their swords with all the force they could mutter, and, due in part to his strength and enchantment, the demi-angel began to overwhelm the young warrior. "You seem to have some skill in swordplay, but you are not match for me!" the multiweaponed warrior stated as he slowly moved the young sword fighter back.

"That is what I thought you'd say," the ice innate said as blue energy from the runes of his sword began to float up and freeze into ice shards. Before long, five of them appeared around the ice warrior's sword, and they were all sharpened and appeared as needles. "But I don't need strength when I have my powers," he stated as he flicked two fingers forwards and the ice needles flew at the brawler, who jumped back as they came after him, deflecting and defending himself as best he could.

Despite the warrior of God's skills in combat, two of the needles broke past his defense. One embedded itself in his right, upper thigh, and the other found its way into his left, lower abdomen. Blood trickled down his body slightly as he looked at the boy, who had already made another pair of ice daggers by this time. "Not bad, again, kid," Kellson stated as he charged at the young warrior, who let his blades loose towards the man, who blocked them both with ease as he swung his blade down at Zachary.

Leos used the flat of his sword to absorb the blow and stumbled back after the impact from the attack. Damn! He's really strong. I'd better be careful, lest I wind up dead, he told himself as he swung his blade in a powerful horizontal slash, which his foe guarded, but moved back slightly. The ice innate began to rain out slashes in all directions at his foe, who was being forced back as the ice warrior swung his blade fast as he could manage. Sparks and small amounts of escaping ice magic seeped as the warriors clashed; finally, the two warriors locked swords again, and Leos stared at his foe intently. "You are strong. I think I want to know your name, just to make sure I've got it right when I give my sermon at your funeral," Zachary mocked, beginning to create more ice needles to embed in his foe.

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

Kellson suddenly grew angry. "Only Christian sermons at my funeral, kid," he snarled, pushing Zachary's sword back and kicking him in the chest, sending him stumbling backwards. Sheathing his sword, Kellson spread his hands wide. "C'mon, Mister Zach. Throw some ice. I'm not moving."

As the ice knives came zipping towards him, Kellson held out a hand and fired a short blast of golden light. When the light and knives connected, the light disappeared while the knives were fired towards the opposite direction. As more ice flew at him, he easily blasted them away with holy energy until Zach halted his assault. The demi-angel let the energy play around his fingertips before disappearing.

"I don't underestimate foes, Zach," Kellson said, dusting off his hat and replacing it on his head. "I just laugh at them. Ha. Ha." He pulled out the ice knives from his stomach and leg, grimacing slightly.

Zach sprinted towards him, sword raised. Kellson unsheathed a dagger and murmured, "Let's see how fast we can go."

As the boy swung with a horizontal slash, the demi-angel leaped over it, landing behind the ice innate. Dagger held in a reverse style, he flailed around, catching the boy in the shoulder. The boy's disproportionately large sword already came around to cut off his foe's head. Kellson bent backwards, feeling the whoosh of the blade above him. Springing upright like a jack-in-the-box, he parried a thrust with his knife and grabbed the boy's throat with his free hand. "I'm Kellson," he said, and kneed the boy in the stomach. Advancing, Kellson spun his long dagger in his fingers. "I can imagine it out. 'Here Lies Zach: He was a Damn Fool Who Bit Off More Than He Could Chew."

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

"Right..." the red haired youth responded, holding his gut as he rose. This guys no joke, and to make matters worse, he has wings. What the hell is this guy? the young swordsman asked himself as he grasped his blade in both hands, wincing slightly at the pain in his shoulder. Brute force and ice magic didn't seem to do the trick here, so that only left the ice innate with one thing left: He'd need to be creative. Thankfully, that crazy woman taught me how to think on my feet, but I don't think I've got anything to exploit this time, he told himself as he examined the battlefield. What was there he could use? Then he noticed it, the thing that could give him his edge. The ground had several water spots, caused from the melting of the boy's ice attacks. That will do the trick!

The ice innate struck at his foe, making powerful swings at his foe with his sword, but so much to strike as to initiate his plan. Each time the ice warrior hit a puddle, he manipulate both the magic from his sword, and to a very small extent, the water as he began to form large numbers of ice needles. After the third puddle, the boy's brain was becoming strained with the ice weapons, and the demi-angel was fighting back with amazing force and speed with his chosen weapon for this moment. Odds are, the regicide had taken note of the boy producing more ice pins but paid not attention to it, knowing he could deflect it. The swordsman had a plan, he would just need to wait, and his ice needles were ready to use when he needed them.

Despite the fact Kellson had ignored the boy's ice needles, he was wholly prepared for the swordsman's sword attacks, which hit hard, but pushed the demi-angel warrior back slightly, especially as the multiweapon counter attacked, pushing Zachary back a bit as well. His dagger cut the air with a strange amount of speed, and the boy would block it, but be thrown back slightly; nevertheless, the boy would charge and strike down, but cause little or no damage with his sword. Suddenly, the demi-angel pushed forwards, as did the young ice innate, and their swords clashed again, but the demi-angel made a quick, yet powerful, slash that pushed the boy back. "You can't beat me," the demi-angel stated as he stepped forwards, finding the boy had launched himself in the air and the regicide was pushed back, his feet landing into a puddle.

"Perfect," the boy stated as he displaced some of his ice energy and froze the small pool completely, locking Kellson's feet inside. "This took forever, but I think this will work just fine," the boy stated nonchalantly as he flicked his fingers upwards. Suddenly, all around the demi-angel appeared the massive number of ice needles the boy had made. The youth had produced at least twenty ice needles, and they pointed at the black winged man from all directions. "And this... is checkmate!" the boy roared as he swung his arms in a downwards motion, and the needles all flew towards the divine creature.

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

Kellson took one second to figure out what happened before he crouched, wings folded to protect his back and arms raised to hide his head and chest. There wasn't enough time to shoot away the needles; he would just have to take it.

They came from every direction, zipping into the demi-angel. At least a dozen buried themselves in his folded wings and back, while another seven hit his sides and arms. One especially large needle dug into his left fist, poking out of his palm. All in all, it hurt like hell--thank God he wore chainmail, or he'd really be hurt. He would have fallen over had his feet not been frozen to the ground. Crying out, the regicide yanked various ice shards out from his body. His wings hurt the most, but he couldn't reach them, so he shook vigorously, howling again as the ice was shaken loose from the sensitive feathers. An angel's feathers were his most sensitive part of his body. As a self-proclaimed demi-angel, Kellson's were practically imobilized, hanging limply out of his shoulder blades.

The boy, Zachary, was chuckling softly. As blood dripped to the ground from a score of places on his body, Kellson placed his good hand to the ice that bound him to the ground and blasted it with energy, shattering the ice. More pain raced through him; he had forgotten that shooting it would make sharp edged pieces go into his foot. They were too small to take out now, especially in a battle. Kellson ignored the cold, lancing pain in his foot and yanked its partner free, limping out of the frozen puddle.

"Kid, you're going to wish you hadn't done that," Kellson growled quietly. He slipped brass knuckles onto his wounded hand, keeping it inside his pocket. That would come soon. Raising his sword, he spun it in circles tauntingly, waiting for the now-confident ice innate to make his move.

The boy did, charging and brandishing his sword. Think I'm weakened, eh? Kellson thought angrily. Bad move, Mister Zach, bad move. As he backpedaled and parried at the same time, wincing every time he put down his injured foot, he balled his other fist as tightly as he could without causing serious pain. Just like Jesus, he'd gotten a nail through his hand. Now, he appreciated the pain of the crucifixion even more.

As Zachary took another slash at the demi-angel, Kellson whipped out his brass-ringed fist and slugged him in the chin, sending him flying backwards into a wall. He heard the crack of mortar and was slightly pleased, but satisfaction was quickly overridden by the agony of his wounded hand. Trying not to gasp, he grated out, "I'm not done yet, kid, not by a long shot." Swinging his sword, he advanced on the stunned boy.

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

Didn't see that coming, the young boy told himself as he slowly pushed himself to his feet from the indent in the wall he had created after Kellson's strike. That guys got one hell of a punch. This could be fun, the ice warrior stated as more puddles began to form. Zachary knew he could easily draw on this area now, especially after such an attack as he had thrown at the strange man with black wings. The ice innate's eyes took note that the man's wings appeared limp and wounded, and perhaps that could aid him. This is way to much fun. This guy is way different from that psychotic woman or that green haired fencer. This guy is strong, but I can actually seem to fight him on an almost even level. But that is shifting, mostly thanks to all of the water around us, the frost warrior noted as the demi-angel appeared, swinging his blade wildly.

The divine warrior's attacks were both wild and powerful, and the swordsman was finding himself rather outclassed in terms of shear power. As the man's dagger came down, the youth ducked, and the blade became caught in the wooden wall of the building. Suddenly, the demi-angel felt something thrust into his chest, and he stumbled back slightly. The young warrior had thrust the hilt of his sword into the man's chest, causing the wounded man to step back slightly. "Damn punk," he muttered, barely loud enough for the boy to hear.

As the demi-angel held his gut, the young swordsman made his move, swinging his blade at the man wildly as one could imagine. The multiweapon moved back, keeping his eyes on the boy, who swung his sword berserkly at the man with everything he could muster. The man's attack had startled the boy, and it still hurt, but he knew that before long, he'd moved his foe into a trap, and then he could end it. Suddenly, the barrage of sword swings ended and the boy began to draw ice from his sword and threw three ice shards at his foe, who merely dodged them as the boy rushed him again, making a powerful downward swing.

The man with several weapons finally made a decision, drawing another dagger and defending himself from the runic edge of the boy. The two were locked in combat, and thanks to the boy's last strike, the demi-angel was nearly in position for his trap. It was all a matter of planning. Suddenly, something changed the boy's plan, as a powerful, brass lined fist drove itself into Zachary's forehead and threw him backwards, slamming hard against the ground as he slid back. "Damn boy, that stings you know," he said, dropping his dagger and looking at his hand.

Dammit... That punch was stronger then the first, but I'm so close. He's nearly in position, which means I can possibly defeat him soon. The boy's hand shook as it reached for the rune blade; as the boy's hand touched the pommel of the sword, the runes glowed a light blue, but the boy's body ached all over. Slowly, the swordsman pulled himself to his feet, with the aid of his sword of course. "I can't lose... I have to kill that man... The one with green hair!" The boy roared as he rushed at the demi-angel who quickly picked up his dagger as the boy's blade came down and pushed the regicide backwards, with astounding force, into the puddle that had been formed from the ice warrior's last attack.

"And now! I'll defeat you!" The boy's words were not empty, and were proven so as he his foot against the water several time, freezing and creating large numbers of ice needles before finally stabbing his sword into the puddle and freezing it, and the slouched over Kellson, in place. "This time, I'll make sure you can't walk away!" Zachary cried as he focused his energy and created about fifty ice needles, moving them all to surround the young angel. The boy's breathing slowed, he was less angry, mostly because the focus from keeping all of the needles was so straining. I can't lose to this man. I have to get stronger... To defeat the green haired fencer. TO KILL HIM! The boy's body and sword pulsed as he swung his hands down. "I'm sorry," the boy said as a tear dropped from his eye.

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

"Don't be," Kellson said emotionlessly, and raised his hands.

The boy had been stupid, giving him enough time to prepare. Not only did he know what was coming, but he could defend himself adequately. As the ice innate's hands dropped and the needles whizzed through the air, Kellson dropped down as low as he could and fired.

Light energy erupted from his hands in an enormous wave, ripping through the air and obliterating the ice in front of him. Before the energy faded, he quickly moved his hands to the side, knocking away the projectiles to his left and right. His back, however, was unprotected. A score of needles thudded into his wings, making him scream in pain. Even after the initial impact, the pain still racked through his body. He slumped over, trapped in the ice, and stopped moving.

Fighting as hard as he could to block out the pain and remain motionless, Kellson held his breath as Zachary slowly walked towards him. Yes, come here, kid. Am I dead? You need to find out...you need to know.

Zachary lifted Kellson's head with his sword. Eyes snapping open, gleaming, Kellson grinned savagely.

"Surprise!"

Lifting his clenched fists, he fired a second round of energy, in one concentrated beam, straight at the ice innate's chest. It lifted him up, suspending him mid-air in a glow of light, before throwing him into another wall. This time, he didn't just make an impact--he flew through the wall and into the bar Kellson had already "cleaned out," rubble crashing around the hole. Kellson was surprised the wall hadn't collapsed.

Gently firing a third beam into the ice and ripping his feet out, Kellson banished his wings, making them shrink until they disappeared--if any bystanders hadn't seen him with wings, they would now think he was a normal, wingless person.

Ha. Normal. But at least the pain in his back had almost completely dissappeared with his wings. If he brought them out again, he knew it would return. But now, except for his hand, foot, and side, he felt practically brand new.

Kellson stalked towards the swinging doors of the tavern and blasted them open. The impact removed them from their hinges, flinging them into the opposite wall. Zachary lay, groaning feebly, in a heap, surrounded by dust and rocks. The demi-angel strode over to him, looking quizzically down at him.

"You know, Zachary, it was you who started this fight, not me. You can leave whenever you want. Of course, I may kill you anyways," he smirked, kicking the boy in the ribs, "but it's your decision."

Sheathing his sword, he picked up a long piece of stone and hefted it like a club.

"Your choice."

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

The ice innate watched in terror as he saw his ice needles deflected with the greatest of ease. The swordsman suddenly found himself being flung through the wall of a bar, and his body rolling as he hit the ground and pain running through his body. Dammit... What is this guy? He isn't human, but I don't think he is an angel either, the ice fighter thought as he looked up at the man who stared down at him.

"You know, Zachary, it was you who started this fight, not me. You can leave whenever you want. Of course, I may kill you anyways," the regicide smirked, kicking the boy in the ribs, "but it's your decision." The man walked over and grabbed a stone that he seemed to want to use as a club. "Your choice."

Right, I started the fight, when your the one going around claiming you are the god of wrath. Right... Zachary whispered to himself, laughing at the man who kicked him in the chest again.

"What are you laughing at boy?!" he growled angrily.

"I'm laughing at your claim of being the 'God of Wrath'," the boy told him, resting his left hand on his sword, making the runes light up. The boy focused as best as he could as the man towered over him, readying to use the stone to kill the boy. "But I think you were just showing off," he said as he quickly made an ice dagger and flicked his fingers forwards, thrusting the icy blade into the demi-angel's right abdomen. The youth rolled out of the way as the man let go of his stone and pulled the ice dagger out of his side.

The regicide looked down at the ice innate, who was slowly rising, holding his sword in combat ready stance. The man picked back up the stone he had lost grip of when the dagger had pierced his chest, and swung it a few times, getting a feel for it. Before the demi-angel knew it though, another ice dagger was coming at him, but he moved his head and avoided the sharpened frozen liquid, if only by a hair. Suddenly the man swung at the boy, and met his sword in combat with the stone that had the sword cut through most of it, but was now stuck within the condensed pebbles. Suddenly, the boy felt a powerful blow as Kellson drew his sword just enough to thrust the pommel of his sword into the ice innate, who was thrown back slightly, losing hold of his sword. The man sheathed the drawn portion of his sword and threw the stone and the trapped rune blade away from himself as he stared at the wounded boy.

The ice based warrior slowly rose to his feet and stumbled to maintain his balance. The fighter noted that his sword was stuck in a stone and that his foe was unarmed currently as well, except for his brass knuckles, that is. The boy charged at the regicide, who didn't flinch in the least, and simply punched the boy with the chest and threw him back to the ground. "Dammit," the boy the stated as he pushed himself from the ground and charged again, this time elbowing Kellson in the chest, and causing him to stumble back as the boy rolled and grabbed his sword and flung the stone from it, which the divine warrior dodged and looked at the boy. "Come get me now!" the boy commanded, ready to fight on again.

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

“I didn’t say God of Wrath,” Kellson said, drawing his sword once more. “I said, Wrath of God. God Himself would not take time to crush something as pitiful and insignificant as you. I’m just His servant!”

He rushed forward and they began their dance again, weaving in and out, slashing left and right. The regicide’s stomach hurt from the dagger wound and his impaled hand was unusable, forcing him to fight one-handed, but it didn’t matter. He was sick of this man impeding him in his duty. He had people to kill.

“Either way, I will defeat you!” Zachary shouted, and threw two ice needles which Kellson lazily blasted out of the way.

“Yeah, right. Enough games, kid,” Kellson drawled, parrying another sword thrust. The boy surprised him, though, and smashed his rune-covered sword down onto Kellson’s own hard enough to knock it from his hand. Kellson stumbled, tripped over a decapitated pirate’s body, and hit the floor with a thud. Instantly, Zachary’s sword was at his throat. Kellson lay impassively on the ground.

“Strike.”

The ice innate hesitated a second too long. Kellson lashed out with a booted foot, kicking the boy in the groin.

As he fell over, cursing, Kellson retrieved his sword and walked back to the boy. Sheathing the sword, he grabbed the boy by the neck and effortlessly slammed him up against the stone wall, strangling him with his bare hands.

“I came here to kick ass,” Kellson said, tightening his grip, “and you’re in the way.”

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

"Normally..." the boy stuttered, feeling breath leaving his body as he stared at his sword. "I wouldn't have gotten involved, but you entered in such an annoying fashion and scared away anyone that could have helped me find my way back to wherever it was I was heading. Not that I knew where I was going," he muttered as he pushed his foot against the wall and drove his other foot into the man's gut, making him wince. "But... I'm going to defeat you!" he told the man pushing both of his feet against the wall and moving them from it, driving the toes of his shoes into the man's chest and loosening his grip as the boy moved the balls of his feet into the man's stomach. The swordsman placed his hands around the regicide's wrist and twisted, finally managing to free himself with another quick kick to the demi-angel's chest.

The boy fell to the ground, fighting for breath. Damn! That was close, that guy could have killed me, Leos told himself as he ran towards his sword, but soon found Kellson impeding his path. The ice innate slid low and performed a sweep kick, knocking the man's feet out from under him and causing him to slam, front of his body first, into the ground as the boy rolled and made another dash for his sword.

The warrior of God was not quite stopped, as he jumped to his feet and rushed after the boy, driving one knee into the young fighter's stomach and throwing him a good ways back. As the ice warrior slid on his heels, the demi-angel was already making his next attack, another punch aimed for the young ice elemented swordsman's head.

The ice warrior responded almost by impulse and pushed the man's hand out of the way, thrusting his own fist into the multiweapon's forehead and pushing the demi-angel back forwards, throwing him onto his back as the ice innate fell to a knee and looked at his foe. The young warrior had began to run out of energy, between the large scale ice attacks and the sheer intensity of the battle, how could this man still have so much fight left in him. Much to Zachary's disdain, the man with black wings slowly began to rise, rubbing his forehead and getting ready to attack the red haired youth. Slowly, Zachary pushed himself to his feet and stared at the man, one question still burning in his mind. "Who are you bringing the 'Wrath of God' upon here? Tell me this, and perhaps I'll leave you alone, it is hard to say. Hell, give me a good enough answer, and I may find cause to help you."

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

"You certainly are annoying," Kellson said. He rushed forward, pretended to punch to the left, and kicked as hard as he could towards the boy's head. It knocked him over a table with a humorous crash. Kellson leapt up and slammed down on the table, punching as hard as he could and breaking it in half.

"Unless you want to be like that table--cut in half--I'd leave me alone, if I was you," Kellson chuckled, massaging his fist. "I'm just getting warmed up."

"Just answer me!" the boy yelled, scrambling upright to attack Kellson once more.

"Fine. I'm wiping this entire town out of existence. It's full of rapists," he grunted, punching with a brass-lined fist, "pirates, and all sorts of scum. I'm damn tired of it, and you're interrupting."

The boy was getting tired, while Kellson felt wide awake, albeit sore. He could keep this up all day. Wrenching a leg off of a chair, the regicide swung at the boy’s head. Zachary barely dodged in time.

"So you're here to kill the pirates?"

"Pretty much--ugh," Kellson said as the boy planted a foot in his abdomen and shoved hard. "Make what you will of that."

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

"Very interesting, but what proof do you have that all pirates are bad? Have you ever thought that they do what they must to survive? Some of them may just be poor and need subsistence just to live on, and the only way they can do that is by stealing from much richer, merchant vessels. Do not judge action based upon belief, for it tends to lead you into a very ill fate, and one you cannot escape," the boy said, looking at the man, ready to fight again. The boy rushed at the man, dodging one of the pirate hunters punched and then using his palms to push himself up as the demi-angel tried to kick him. with a quick movement, the ice innate punched the divine warrior as hard as he could in the face, throwing him back slightly.

The multiweapon hit the ground with a thud as the boy landed and rushed towards his sword, grabbing it and finally brandishing it again against his powerful foe. The regicide dusted himself off and looked at the boy, not drawing a weapon; he moved forwards, at a speed that was impressive to the young boy, but he already had his plan set up, forming two ice daggers and launching them at the warrior of light, who merely knocked them away with his bare hands, causing small cuts on the back of his hands, but not really causing any damage besides that. The man watched as the boy swung his sword, striking at the demi-angel, who merely caused light to emit from his hand and pushed away the blade of the ice warrior, delivering a knee to the youth's chest.

The ice innate flew through the air, slamming through the banister of the tavern's stair case as he landed, and slowly pushed himself to his feet. Well... I can say for a fact that being thrown through stuff hurts like hell. Okay, note to self, avoid being thrown through things in the future. No matter how powerful this guy is... I cannot lose. I must kill that man! "I MUST DESTROY THAT MAN WITH GREEN HAIR!" the boy cried out as he leapt from the stairs and ran at the demi-angel, making a powerful swing as he charged, the runes on his sword glowing brightly as he moved.

The regicide moved his head slightly, evading the blade of the sword (or so he thought) as he watched the boy, but he then felt a small bit of blood drip down the side of his cheek. He wiped it up, and then looked at the boy's sword. "The hell did he do that?" the divine warrior asked as he looked at the ice warrior's sword, which had a layer of ice formed over it, making the blade slightly longer, just enough so to cut the angel like man's face.

The ice warrior turned towards his foe as the blood trickled down the frozen edge of the youth's sword as he readied it for his next attack at the black winged man. The boy charged again, but his foe would not be caught of guard again as he jumped over another slash from the warrior's sword, but the youth was ready, sliding his foot and quickly slashing again, cutting along the demi-angel's arm, making a shallow cut in it. "I cannot lose... Not until that green haired man has died at my hands. Neither you, nor anyone shall stop me!" the boy cried, turning to face his foe, ready to attack again.

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

"Wrong!" Kellson said, and fired two blasts of energy towards the ice innate, who leaped out of the way as rubble was propelled into the wall. The beams swept after the boy as he scrambled out of the way. Kellson stopped firing and picked up two pieces of wood, bounding after Zachary. Ice and metal smacked against timber as they duelled, Kellson grunting out fragments of sentences in between blows.

"I don't...care who the green-haired man is," he grated out, spinning and catching the boy on the leg with a block of wood. "All that concerns me...is that you're in my way!"

He flung both pieces of timber at the boy. Using the distraction, the regicide dove over to the now doorless entrance of the pub and snatched up a cutlass that had been confiscated by the bouncers. Unsheathing it, he looked over to his foe--Leos was already charging towards him. Kellson swung the sword, fighting the young man off with one hand as the other found a hard, metallic object. He grasped it and held it behind his back, still being forced back by the furious, ice-tinged swings of the boy.

"Bottom line is that they're breakin' the law," Kellson said, "and I'm just doing what no one--not ships, not the Watch--could do: killing them!"

Whipping out the iron mug he had found, he smashed it into the boy's face, who fell back with a cry. Now, to hit him again... Kellson jumped up, swung on the rafters, and kicked the ice warrior in the face as hard as possible, throwing all his weight and momentum into the blow. Something cracked audibly.

Retrieving his cutlass, he swung it easily and prepared to attack again.

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

Zachary clicked his jaw back into place, making sure it still worked. Dammit, why is this guy so insanely powerful, and where the hell is the end to his stamina? I'm getting more and more tired, and this bastard is still fighting like he hasn't fought at all. Something is very wrong here. Slowly, the ice warrior pushed himself to his feet, his right hand holding his sword tightly, and his left arm holding his right arm as the ice warrior looked at the charging warrior. The ice fighter slid his right foot, sliding his left arm down, seeing as his right arm was fine, he was just holding it with his left to give the image of being hurt.

As the cutlass came down towards the ice innate, he made his move, swinging his blade, the broad side toward the cutlass, and deflected the curved blade, followed by a quick turn, followed by a horizontal slash that cut along Kellson's abdomen, scraping along his chain-mail, but not causing any damage, but the boy followed closely after his attack with a shoulder thrust, that threw his back slightly. A quick kick suddenly followed by the red haired youth that threw the demi-angel into the bar seating area, slamming his back against the bar area, keeping him upright. The boy followed behind his last attack, bringing his sword down at his foe, who moved his cutlass to defend himself as the frozen blade came down, aimed for the man's skull. The two warriors stood in a blade lock, but slowly, Kellson pushed the young boy back, finally delivering a punch to the boy's chest to throw him back.

The boy looked at the demi-angel, who slowly trudged towards him, spinning his blade in his hand as he moved slowly towards the red haired fighter. The boy moved his hand back and ran his hand over what was behind him. A wine keg... This could be really useful, I think, the youth told himself as he watched the man slowly draw near. The boy lifted his blade over his head and slammed it down on the ground, shattering his ice casing and making the ice runes glow bright blue. "Come get me," the boy said, slowly raising his eyes to meet his foe.

The demi-angel suddenly charged and swung his sword down, cutting into the wine barrel and causing the liquid to spray out as the boy rolled out of the way and shoved his sword into the barrel and freezing the wine, freezing it and Kellson in place. The boy yanked out his sword as the contents of the barrel and the demi-angel stood silent, frozen in time. "That was fun, and I wouldn't have thought of that without you, so I say thanks," Zachary stated as he slammed his foot on the ground and caused the liquid wine on the floor to rise up. The ice innate quickly froze it and started making needles of ice and wine and moving them into position to strike his foe. "Here it ends, and I move on to continue my search for the green haired fencer. I'm nearly sure you'll survive this, but I don't care, I don't want to kill you, merely make you leave me alone!" The boy yelled, swinging his arms down and causing his twenty two colored needles to rain down.

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

He wasn’t listening to the overly satisfied boy…no, he was mentally raging at his own stupidity. Ice needles surrounded him, his limbs were frozen to the wall and his own torso, and this runt was about to walk away, saying, “Hurrah for a job well done.”

You bloody idiot! Kellson roared at himself. You bloody great stupid moron!

If he ever found this green haired man that seemed to give Zachary is drive to success, there would be hell to pay.

The boy dropped his arms, turned, and left the pub as the needles rained down around his trapped foe. Kellson was left alone with his furious thoughts and about two dozen needles zipping towards him.

Clink, clink, clink.

They hit the ice around his body and dropped to the ground harmlessly. Kellson took a moment to give a mental “phew” before trying to escape.

First, he fired energy blasts against the ice on his hands, freeing them. A lot of good that does, he thought, irritated. He still couldn’t move his arms or wrists. Now, the cold started to creep into his body, like a thief into a mansion. Struggling, he cracked some of the ice around his legs, but nothing more.

The regicide relaxed and tried to clear his mind of the anger and think of a plan. Seconds passed. He gazed around the room, looking for inspiration. Weapons he couldn’t reach, torches he couldn’t pick up…oh.

The answer stared him straight in the face. Angling his uninjured hand as best as possible, Kellson tilted it towards the torches placed by the doors. Who knew why they were lit at this time of day—maybe it was ambience. Whatever the reason, he was getting out of here. He fired three rapid-fire energy bolts at the flames, knocking a torch loose from its holder. It fell to the ground, rolling towards the spilled wine.

Now, the hard part. He braced himself as the torch continued and finally stopped at the wine, flame licking the dark violet liquid.

With a whoomph, the alcohol exploded, a ball of flame shooting into the demi-angel and sending him flying back. He landed with a crash, propped up on a table. The flames caught on the frozen wine that captured him and erupted on his torso, spreading to his limbs and neck.

The ice hadn’t melted completely, but it was enough. With a roar, he wrenched free of the frozen liquid and staggered forward, clothes on fire. He barreled out the door, flaming, and hit the sandy ground, rolling and rolling, patting on fire, until the conflagration was extinguished.

At least, it was extinguished for him. The bar behind him had caught fire. Poking his head in and trying not to breathe in smoke, he picked up another cutlass and strode out, singed trenchcoat fluttering in the ash-ridden breeze. As he strode away, there was a second, much louder whoomph as the fire reached the actual bar section of the tavern, igniting the alcohol in a massive chain reaction that blew half of the roof off of the building. Kellson didn’t turn, but instead looked around for that damned child who was going to die rather soon if the demi-angel caught up with him.

OoC: I dunno if that was supposed to be the end or not, so it's up to you.

Re: Sea to Bloody Sea (Zorolo)

The ice innate left the bar, not even watching the ice needles strike down his frozen enemy (as he thought they would) and slowly moved through the town. He was lost, but he didn't care, he didn't know where he was going anyway, so how did being lost effect him. The boy grabbed another cloth from a table and placed it over him as a cloak with a hood, hiding his face and hair. The only major difference with this one was it was brown instead of dark blue, as the last one had been, and it smelled rather like fruit instead of fish, as the last one had. The boy trudged slowly towards the town exit, watching as the bar blew up from a ways away and laughed.

"So, that idiot got himself out and survived, that's good. One day, after I've killed that green haired man, I'll come to find him and kill him as well." the boy moved through the empty town, knowing of its eminent destruction and the need to kill that green haired man arose in the boy again. The time is slowly drawing near. I don't think it will be long now before I kill off that green haired guy that defeated me. That black winged guy can have this city, for it won't matter, because I was only there looking for that man... that Zorlo! The boy's mind was filled with dreams of grandeur and defeating Zorlo, and perhaps it would happen one day, but Zachary would need to wait.

Meanwhile, the demon Magnus sat down in his throne and looked at the sky of exile. The blood red sky and demonic black sands swirled about the throne of the exiled damned, and the man who had taken the title as king sat silently, awaiting the results. Magnus didn't care about the boy, but this boy was his tool to kill the fencer who could destroy him and end his reign. He laughed at that thought. "What do I reign? All I have are these worthless exile demons and the power of a sword that isn't helping me. But one day, I know that boy will meet the fencer again and weaken him enough so that I can kill him. Whence he is dead, I can reclaim my seat of power!"

The demon rose from his seat, grabbing his spear and looking into the empty distances of the demon land of exile. "So soon will death occur to that man, that even the bravest demons shalln't challenge me! I will be invincible!" The laughter of Magnus was so loud and evil that it could be heard through the vast, empty miles around the demon's living area.

OoC: That seems good. This was an awesome battle. Thanks for battling me, and whence next we meet, Zorlo and Kellson shall face off.
