Of Fox and Man (Chozo)
OoC: I know, very lame title, but I've never been good at titles. Using Zorlo, link in Sig. I'm so happy I finally get to test out his new powers.
BiC: The ancient aura master slept well this night, retaining his peaceful glee upon his return from the Ethereal forest and his meeting with Cenarius, God of the druid and forests. The dreams of happiness and love that the fencer had been having since he returned reassured his hope that no problems were on the horizon for himself and his lover, but fate would not be so linear as he imagined it. The dream the green haired man was having became fuzzy as a dream version of his body appeared in what seemed to be the Ethereal realm. The green haired man looked about, as if from nowhere, a body began to take a physical form. The fencer had been summoned to the Ethereal dream, called upon by his Master Cenarius, obviously for a reason. "Zorlo!" The God said in a commanding tone from his deep, booming voice. "The time that I have to request your assistance, as my hero of your world. Since Gods cannot directly interfere with mortals, or are not supposed to anyway. Several have crossed over into your realm, one of which is no longer a God and searches for the secret to destroying an ancient power." "What is it you desire me to do, my master?" The dream form of the fencer fell to one knee and looked up to his master. "You must find a creature called a Foxfolk named Latio Scaptur, for he knows where the mind of the former God of Wrath Gorin is, since the warrior has joined forces with the one known as Dante, the vessel that holds Gorin's mind. Be weary though, the Foxfolk, despite his youth, is very powerful." "Where do I find this Latio person master?" "You shall find him in a forest temple, a good ways away from where you are. Good luck!" The God said as he waved his hand and the fencer began to vanish. With a quick bow, the green haired man returned to his peaceful dream. This would be his last night of sleep in a place he loved for a long while, for the next morning, he would begin his travels to find this Foxfolk. *** She looked at him, clasping his hand tightly as her beautiful, wheat colored hair blew through the air. "Do you have to leave?" She asked him sadly. "You know I do... I must go for only a little call... Cenarius has need of me," he told her, wrapping his hands upon her waste. How he would miss her while he was away, but he kept the thought of absence makes the heart grow fonder upon his mind. His desire to see her would make him grow stronger, simply from a grand design to keep her safe. "Why can I not accompany you?" She asked, about to cry. "It will be easier for me if you simply wait for me here... I will not be long, and when I return, we will be together for a long time. You will be comfortable here, I'm sure. Master Kurenkento owns a comfortable house," he responded, running his hand across her cheek. "I... fear you may never return..." She told him, clinging to his arm strongly. "Of course I will... you can count on it. I'll never leave you... I promise I will return in a short time, just promise you'll wait for me and be here when I return." He smiled at her. He would not let his promise fail. His return would be celebrated, and he would be much stronger then he was now. I won't let you go... I'll wait for you to return, Zorlo!" She waved his bandanna and he gave her a thumbs up as he left with a smile on his face. *** Two days passed of the aura master walking from place to place, looking for the temple that Zorlo had been told about. His green eyes examined his surroundings for anything that was out of the ordinary. For the first time in the young man's life, he noticed how similar forests appeared when you were looking for something out of the ordinary. The fencer saw nothing like he had seen in the Ethereal forest; no grand temple, no people and worst of all, nothing at all to do. The fencer rested his right palm upon the pommel of his sword, flowing slightly onto the hilt, and pressed down ever so lightly, to prevent the sheath of the sword from dragging upon the ground. The fencer looked about, and suddenly something caught his eyes; a strange light in the distance seemed to beckon him to it. The fencer pushed his way through the brush and trees with his left hand until he found the massive stone structure he had been searching for. Looking upon the top of the structure, the fencer noticed a mirror that was reflecting the sun from it into his eyes. As the green haired man moved closer, he noticed how massive the structure was. The building was in the style of a Sumarian Ziggurat, with rising stone steps that form a pyramid like shape. In the middle of the structure, a lone door appeared and the fencer moved to investigate if this was where he was headed. He moved in front of the door and pushed upon it lightly; a crack was heard as he peered into the room he had just opened. "Hello?!" He said lowly as he walked in. OoC: As you can tell, I'm also not very good at openings. Well, here is the battle I promised you, so have at you!

Re: Of Fox and Man (Chozo)
The light of a full moon seeped through the cracks and spaces of the temple’s walls, illuminating the usually dank, dark corridors with a mystic blue radiance that seemed eerily unnatural.
Latio, the foxfolk, resided at the upper room of the great, pyramid-shaped building, soaking in the magnificent pale light as it burst through an intentionally carved circle in the flat roof. Vines draped down from the shape, and the floor below was covered with thick, green foliage, though the moon’s refraction of light greatly blighted out the colour, covering anything and everything it came in contact with in a pale blue mask. The foxfolk sat cross-legged directly under the moon’s mystic gaze, eyes closed, head bowed and his hands gripping his knees, contemplating various troubles he’ll be having after breaking from the Alliance. I’ll need to support myself, become powerful enough to defend myself, and others… He lifted a paw to his textured face mask. … From myself. He then said out loud “Then it’s decided. I need to collect to remaining spirits. And why not start here?” The words echoed back at him, followed by an inquisitive “hello?” The fox could hear the footsteps of the newcomer approaching, as well as the slight jingle of metal weaponry, specifically swords and a shield. “Who’s there?” Latio said back. OoC: They'll get longer... later. |

Re: Of Fox and Man (Chozo)
OoC: Don't matter, good post.
BiC: The aura master moved slightly farther into the room that opened up to him with the door. The green haired man found himself in a very large, octagonal room that was lit by torches that are lined up along the wall. To the back of the room, an opening existed and the swordsman moved into the stranger room, still resting his right hand upon the pommel of his rapier, relaxing himself as best he could. The opening in the back of the room still intrigued him as he continued to step farther into the temple chambers. The green haired man now stood in the center of the temple room, wondering if who he searched for was here, or if he had found the wrong temple. He would receive his answer soon enough. As the fencer examined the old building, he heard a voice call down, "Who's there?" Upon hearing this, the fencer jumped back slightly, surprised that someone was in this building, but recalling why he had been sent here. The fencer slipped his right hand into his buckler and tightened the strap so it was bound to his arm. The fencer's left hand gripped the handle of his rapier, ready to draw it if need be, but it depended on if this person that had just called to him was the person the aura master was searching for and if it was, how much that person was willing to tell the fencer. The swordsman stepped forwards, into the opening, which contained a dimly lit stair case. The warrior looked up, into the unknown, but did not yet head up the stairs. "I am Zorlo, fencer of Tasogare, and I am looking for a man named Latio Scaptur, do you know of him?" The aura master asked, taking a step onto one of the stairs.

Re: Of Fox and Man (Chozo)
“I am Zorlo, fencer of Tasogare, and I am looking for a person named Latio Scaptur, do you know of him?” the voice echoed back up the spiraling staircase behind the fox.
“I am him. What do you want?” “I request information concerning Dante. You are one of his acquaintances, correct?” The fencer questioned. “That would depend on who’s asking” the fox replied. There was a hint of sarcasm in his voice. “Are you a friend?” “I’ve been sent to ‘purge’ him, so to speak.” “Well I simply can’t help you with that. More for your safety than his,” He mocked slightly. “You’d hardly be able to beat me, let alone my leader.” Then again, this could be the chance to test my new toy. His metal mask jumped to his right forearm, and blended into the fur. He then stood up, and walked towards the fencer. “But, I’ll give you a shot. If you surprise me, I’ll tell you where he is.” He raised his hand, ready for a handshake. “Agreed?” OoC: Lawl small post |

Re: Of Fox and Man (Chozo)
The fencer was not offended at all by the mocking the foxfolk was giving him, merely because the fencer could sense a good amount of power in the fox warrior, but the aura master could not sense the full power of his foe. The fencer stepped forwards and noticed that the fox did not move, then the fencer moved to the right of the fox warrior, who again made no sign to be trying to follow the swordsman with his eyes. Could it be that he is blind? The aura master asked himself, moving back to stand in front of the Oblivion Major.
The Major had not moved since he had asked the fencer if he would agree to the terms that the foxfolk had made, and the fencer had to ponder this to see what he would do. Surprise him? I wonder what he means... I have a bad feeling about this, the green haired man told himself, sliding a piece of his green hair to the side. I Think he has more power then he is letting onto, the warrior told himself as he looked the foxfolk over. Hmm... Seems he doesn't have any weapons, which could be worrying, the aura master told himself, diverting his eyes to the fox's claws. Yet, his claws are rather long and sharp, but those can't be his only weapons, unless he... It was then that the aura master figured out what it was his foe had over him. I see, he is adept in magic odds are. That or he is skilled in mixing magic and those claws of his, like Tsukineko is. It is a good thing I've seen power like that before, or else he would surprised me, the fencer told himself and chuckled slightly. "Agreed," the fencer said as he shook Latio's hand and moved his left hand onto the hilt of his rapier. The fencer would not strike the foxfolk yet, but instead wait for them to finish their honorable handshake and then fight. The green haired man could tell this would be a long battle.

Re: Of Fox and Man (Chozo)
Well, he’s honourable, I’ll give him that. The two warriors took their sides of the round, stone room. Their footsteps would have echoed, if not for the vegetation draping over the walls. But what his technique? “Well, let’s get started” the fox said aloud to his opponent. His metallic mask leapt unto his arm, and coated it with the blue-silver substance. The swift creature then back flipped against the craggy, worn-down slabs of rock, pressed his feet against them, and pushed toward Zoloro like a bullet, claws aflame.
The fencer reflexively took a defensive stance, effective absorbing most of the blow, though he stuttered back, and Latio took this time to perform a low sweeping kick, knocking Zorlo to the ground, face up. Latio stepped on the fencer’s chest. “Well, that was easy.” |

Re: Of Fox and Man (Chozo)
"Really? You think so?" The young Aura Master asked as he quickly began to plan. Okay, things I've learned thus far about my new foe. Well, he's fast and can wield flame around his claws, just like Tsukineko is wholly capable of doing. The fighting style he's implemented thus far is so similar to Tsukineko's it's creepy, the youth thought to himself, looking at his foe who did not appear to be looking at him. Another odd thing to take note of: He doesn't seem to make eye contact, meaning either he doesn't use his eyes, or he doesn't need to use his eyes to fight. Either way, its an advantage for him, the fencer noted as he could feel his body being pinned to the ground by the Foxfolk's foot.
The green eyed man kept his emerald gaze fixed upon the blind warrior, who didn't move, but flames still danced around his claws. With a blink, the fencer suddenly grabbed the fox warrior's foot and pulled it forward, causing the young Foxfolk to fall backwards as the green haired man rolled over and quickly slid himself backwards, rising to his feet. The fencer noticed that the fox fighter had risen to his feet already and was battle ready again. I need to be careful, after his last attack, I know that he's fast, which is a disadvantage for me. We... I haven't seem my full speed yet, but I know not to underestimate my foes. This warrior is a path I must cross in order to complete my mission, the swordsman pondered. "You are strong, mister Latio, but do not think me weak," the green haired warrior stated, drawing his gold bladed rapier. "Let us settle this!" The fencer said as he pushed forwards and charged at his foe, making a powerful horizontal swing at his foe when the warrior fell into striking range.

Re: Of Fox and Man (Chozo)
Latio brought up his arms in a cross as Zorlo’s sword swished through the air, slicing against the fox’s hidden metal skin. The blow glanced off in a flash of sparks, and the fencer recoiled back, though retaining his balance. The foxfolk then morphed the metal, almost living being into a longsword and swung vertically at Zorlo, who seemed surprised at how the strange biometal could transmute so quick. He blocked easily with his buckler, though Latio snuck in a quick flare of lightning to ail his opponent’s vision, and cut down on Zorolo’s exposed shield arm with his longsword.
