Okami's Rain (insaney)
Valkyhn stood there in the pouring rain, chilled to the bone. His sword was raised at his waist; he was situated in his battle stance. He stared at the man in front of him, no…the vampire. Valkyhn’s breathing was heavy, though the man’s was shallow, almost as if he wasn’t breathing at all. Suddenly, Valkyhn pushed down upon the mud and rushed forward. As he came close enough, he swung his sword for the man’s head. Instantly, the man disappeared and reappeared just to the right of Valkyhn. Grunting, he followed his momentum and swung around for another strike. Right before contact, the man vanished again. Valkyhn immediately shifted his momentum and shot his arms up. Simultaneously, he turned his body and brought down his sword on the man. And yet again, before contact, he disappeared.
Valkyhn was getting mad now. He had no idea about what he had gotten himself into. “Well well. Poor little werewolf tired now?” The voice came from behind him. “You knew?” Valkyhn asked, slowly turning around. “Of course. It’s one of my…gifts.” “Is another gift cowardness? You sure do seem to excel at that.” “Such a sharp tongue for such a young man. Careful now, or someone might rip it out.” “I’d like to see you try.” “No problem.” Before Valkyhn could even blink, the man had grabbed his throat. He squeezed down upon the pressure points right below the jaw, causing Valkyhn’s mouth to open. Valkyhn pushed against the man’s strength, but ultimately it overwhelmed him. He tried to speak but all that came out was a croak. “Wish granted.” The man reached into Valkyhn’s mouth and grabbed his tongue. Fool! thought Valkyhn. Valkyhn grabbed tightly to his sword and thrust it into the man’s stomach. The man grunted and released his hold on Valkyhn’s neck and tongue. “You idiot. You left yourself wide open.” Valkyhn quickly pulled his sword out from the man’s chest and raised it. “And now to end your suffering.” He swiped down upon the vampire, but was only successful in hitting the mud. “What the—,” he started, but was interrupted as pain shot through his neck. “Aaagh!!” Valkyhn glanced to his left shoulder. There, he saw the man had two teeth stuck in him, blood being sucked out. “Get…off me!” Valkyhn swung his sword at the man, causing him to appear in front of Valkyhn again. Valkyhn grabbed his shoulder with his right hand; one eye winced in pain. “You’re the idiot if you thought I would fall for something like that!” “But…your wound!” And then, to his amazement and confusion, the wound in the man’s chest slowly died away as skin formed over it and the blood disappeared into his body, like water in soil. “I have the ability to heal any major wound by drinking blood from another person. Yours was…quite delicate. I can’t wait until I can drink the rest.” “Yeah, well, hope you liked it. That’ll be the last thing you ever taste…except my cold steel!” And Valkyhn rushed forth once again to attack the man.” “Oh, by the way,” said Rain, dodging one of Valkyhn’s attacks. “My name’s Rain.” OoC: I'll leave Rain to decide how they met. ^^

Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
Whether you believe it or not, Gods do cry.
They cry from their sorrow and sometimes hate for the world and it's inhabitants and their senseless, bloody wars. And they shed their tears very often too. Sometimes, their pain is so great that the sky itself roiled and rumbled, groaning and screaming with sorrow. A flash of rage would become evident from time to time, letting the world beneath know that this was the time to fear. And yet... sometimes, they were not violent, but instead kind enough to shed a silent weep for the fallen. Now was not that time. A city sprawled out over the landscape, just touching the horizon. Concrete and steel pieced together to form their perfect structures, which included the thick city walls, a line of defense from the warlike countries around. The walls were the tallest structures in the city, and caged in the populace on all sides. No one noticed a lone, dark cloaked person standing on this wall. Of course, who would have? The skies overhead darkened, thickening into a dark gray. No one would have even guessed that the sun was above the clouds, for the clouds themselves seemed intent on keeping the rays from the earth. The vampire held out his hand, and looked towards the clouds as his namesake fell from the heavens. Strands of his gleaming black hair, now weighted down with water, glistened at each flash of lightening. The sounds of the rain pattering against the metal cars, and the cloth umbrellas all reached his ear. Everything seemed like just a normal day in the city. The sight of almost endless lights, the hammering of rain, the engines of vehicles and the shuffling of feet on the crowded sidewalk. Everything was in a harmony of dissonance. Everything... except... Seraph closed his hand, squeezing the water from his black glove. He gritted his teeth slightly and turned towards the city streets. Gold eyes searched amongst the crowded sidewalk. Something was there. He glimpsed a coat of bright white fur, and arched an eyebrow. A woman with a bright white fur overcoat stepped out from the crowd, attempting to cross the glistening street. Rain shook his head, and closing his eyes quickly, then returning his focus to the crowd. Dark blue fur caught the corner of his eyes. Teeth, and claws then came into view. A blink, and the werewolf seemed human. Black shirt, blue jeans, with a sword sheathed at his side. A werewolf? Here? Now? Rain was sure his eyes were deceiving him. The wall was above him now, he floated slowly to the ground. Rummaging through the crowd, he singled out Valkyhn. With a twist of his foot, he appeared infront of the werewolf, stopping him in his tracks. |

Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
It was an omen. I had a feeling, but now it’s confirmed. The coming of the rain signaled the coming of the Rain. As the sky dimmed and the rain came, the Rain came. Valkyhn laughed to himself. Of course… that’s the luck of Valkyhn!
“So…. Rain, is it. Seems fitting enough considering the weather.” Valkyhn laughed. “Never a boring day!” “So then…I’ve told you my name, now what is yours?” “You’d really like to know, wouldn’t ya?” Valkyhn then spun around, slashing at Rain. Again, he disappeared. “Not really. I guess asking someone something doesn’t really mean that person doesn’t want to know the answer.” Valkyhn laughed again. “Just like me! We may have a lot in common, you and I.” He turned around behind him to face Rain. Rain was smiling, smirking. “You really wanna know my name? Fine. I’ll tell you.” He faked a strike towards Rain, who didn’t take the bait. “It’s Valkyhn, otherwise known as the last man you’ll ever see!” And with that, Valkyhn rushed forth, sword first, straight into what would have been Rain’s chest. A laugh sounded from above. Valkyhn looked up to find Rain on top of a house. “All talk, no action. I’ve seen people like you before…and I’ve killed people like you before.” “My turn to do the killing then!” Valkyhn ran towards the house. Throwing his arm back and then propelling it forward, he plunged his sword into the wall. Immediately, he flipped up into a somersault, landing on the sword blade. He then jumped up and flipped onto the shingled roof, sliding his sword out simultaneously and bringing it to his side. He then looked up towards Rain, who stood on the lip of the roof, looking down upon Valkyhn. “Impressive!” he yelled to Valkyhn, over the rain. The man’s eyes widened as he dropped his fork onto the table. From across the table, his wife looked at him in confusion. “Honey, what’s wrong?” The man looked behind him to find nothing but his wall. “Honey?” “I…I thought a sword tip just touched me!” Grumbling, the woman turned her attention to her food once again. “You and your paranoia.” OoC: Hee hee hee. Sorry for the shortness, but I'm kinda busy and gotta go soon. Hope you liked the little tidbit I added there at the end.

Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
Rain watched as Valkyhn completed this slight feat of acrobatics, just to approach the vampire upon the roof. The werewolf certainly wanted a fight, and it was extremely difficult to deny him one. If the vampire chose to fight, he would end this quickly,so as not to draw the world's attention to a monstrous battle between the Lord of Vampires and a seemingly very skilled werewolf.
The water poured from the heavens, soaking every inch and yard of the earth. Rain's cloak became darker, for the rain had soaked it well causing it to be an extra weight upon his shoulders. It was enough with Valkyhn ready to bear down his sword against the vampire's neck. Seraph took only a small moment to pull his arms out of the sleeves, dropping the soaked and heavy coat down behind him. Suddenly, the roof shingles cracked underfoot. But not under Rain's feet. A shout from the front. The cry, accompanied by the tip of a blade spiraled towards him. Valkyhn had rushed forward, holding his sword in a way so that it would be driven through the vampire's chest. For Rain, time began to freeze. The raindrops slowed to a halt. The drops of water that the wind had decided to strip off Valkyhn's blade had denied their release into the air, for the moment. The vampire spun, and at the same time, lifting his right foot up into the air, his left foot grating on the shingles. The sole of his foot made contact with Valkyhn's chest, completing a precise and powerful roundhouse kick. The werewolf shot through the air, his body concaved from the impact of the kick. Rain's counter attack was not about to end there. Valkyhn's body, in mid-air, began to stretch out. He faced the sky. But if his eyes were open, he still wouldn't notice Rain about to land upon his chest, feet first. The vampire landed on the werewolf, forcing him to a hard landing on the grating shingles. Then, finally, the beams beneath the roof creaked, the ceiling caved in. Rain kept his stance upon Valkyhn's chest until the ground below the roof was met. |

Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
The fork dropped to the floor with a soft clang, the only sound within the dusty mess of shingles and humans. Two humans, husband and wife, stared at what lie, or fell, in front of them.
Two men had suddenly come crashing down from the ceiling, right upon their table, shattering it into a million pieces. One was dressed in a black t-shirt and dirty blue jeans, the other in a white button down shirt and black slacks. Both were soaking wet. The one with the white shirt and the golden eyes had been standing on top of the other one upon impact with the ground, and then jumped in the air, flipping to land at the side of it. The one in the dirty blue jeans seemed to have lost his breath. “Oh….hello,” said the golden eyed one, innocently. “Sorry for disturbing you. We’ll uh…be leaving now.” He smiled and walked towards the other man. He grabbed the man’s shirt and instantly, both vanished into thin air. For a few minutes, neither of the two said anything. Then the man said, “You see? It’s NOT paranoia!” Only did Rain stop when the two of them were far away for civilization, as to not put harm in any human’s way. Rain let go of Valkyhn, leaving him to fall to the ground, hard. Valkyhn hit the ground and immediately shot back up, twisting and turning and landing again and repeating, unable to stop himself. Cuts, bruises, and torn cloth and skin accompanied his abrupt landing. After a few minutes, he finally slid to a halt, face first on the ground. Rain appeared directly in front of him, breathing hard. “Geez, you’re fat!” he said. “I could barely lift you!” “Shut…up!” whispered Valkyhn, surprising Rain.

Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
Valkyhn whispered his protest at Rain's last insult. The mud where the werewolf had landed lifted from the ground and clung to his clothes. His face held the splatter from when the ground had seemed to collide with him. Blood, mixed in with the mud, caked on his clothes, but it was difficult to tell whose crimson fluid stained the cloth. Rain had bled and healed, red-stained rips on his shirt had proved this. There was no telling if the vampire had damaged Valkyhn's body enough to surpass the skin. The only evidence of shedding blood from the werewolf, were the two puncture wounds on his neck where Rain had regrettably drank from in order to seal a grave wound.
"Oh, you're awake." Rain responded, without the slightest hint of anger, or desperation in his voice. There was no presence of insult on his tongue either. Valkyhn seemed paralysed for a moment, probably sore all over from that -supposedly- fatal stunt the vampire had pulled on him earlier. The water fell from the skies, digging holes into the dirt, splattering on leaves, running down the smooth surfaces. The drops sought others like them, combining when the rest was met. Even the muddy brown droplets had been found and taken in by their crystal clear adopters. Valkyhn was just there. Just... lying there, for what seemed like minutes going on to hours, but only the measure of seconds were spent. The silence became deafening, shutting even the pattering of the falling rain out. It weighed upon the two as Rain continued to watch Valkyhn laying on the ground. Soon he would be ready to get off, and probably attack again. Better to break the silence now... "So are you going to lay there all day? Or are you going to tell me exactly why you want to jam that sword throug me." |

Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
Valkyhn couldn’t answer. Pain racked his body, ironically enabling him to feel nothing at all. His whole body was numb. Just those two words he said a minute ago used up the last of his energy. And so, he laid there in the mud, breathing deeply, covered in mud and his crimson-colored blood. What felt like hours was really only minutes. Eternity…
Finally, he was able to answer the vampire who stood in front of him. “You…know exactly why. You can feel it. See it--,” he coughed and continued. “I knew what you were when you first stepped in my path. I could feel your energy; your aura completely overwhelmed me. I felt like I had to fight you. Maybe it was my fear blinding my thinking…or the rain. But…I know now it was destiny. I knew as soon as I knew your name. The impending rain signified your coming. The harsh storm, your strength. You’re….no match for me.” “So then, do you accept defeat?” Valkyhn sighed. “Yes…yes I do.” Rain walked forward, smirk on his face. “Seriously?” “Tch. No!” And with that, Valkyhn morphed into his wolf form and flung himself into the air, landing upon Rain and forcing him to the ground. He slashed again and again at Rain, tearing his clothes and his skin; blood rushing forth from the wounds. He once even bit him on the neck. After a few seconds of this, he jumped off Rain and morphed again. “I play dirty. Oh, and that bite I made on your neck…payback.” Now, it was Valkyhn’s time to smirk. But not for long. Immediately, Rain disappeared. Valkyhn, expecting him to come from behind, spun around, ready to strike upon seeing him. As soon as he did, Rain appeared behind him, grabbing him in a headlock and thrusting his neck out. “Even through pain, I think clearly. Trust me, mutt, I’m smarter than you ever could be.” And Rain sunk his canines into Valkyhn’s neck and sucked his blood, weakening Valkyhn even more for every drop he took. Valkyhn knew he would die of blood loss if he didn’t do something now. “Let…GO OF ME!” Valkyhn thrust his head back, knocking it into Rain’s, releasing Valkyhn from his grip and halting his blood sucking. Valkyhn collapsed to his knee, unable to stand up due to his weakness. He breathed hard, for breath came hard. Rain laughed. “You’re blood really does taste good, Valkyhn!” His wounds had already started to heal. “I usually don’t like blood, but you’re an exception.” He laughed again. “Gee, that’s great! Maybe I can make a business out of it! Vampires everywhere will love it! I’ll make millions!” “Too weak to fight, yet still strong enough to be smart… I’m getting tired of hearing your voice. Let’s change it!” Rain disappeared and instantly, pain shot through Valkyhn’s chin, sending him sprawling back, blood flowing from his mouth. He landed hard on his back. Rain appeared again from his unnatural speed directly in front of Valkyhn. “Zu made may bit may tung!” “Oh don’t be a wuss!” “But zi bit may tung!” “Here, remember earlier, when I was going to take your tongue out? Well, I’ll do it right now. You know, to cease the pain.” Rain smiled. “Oh ha ha ha! Vewy funnay!” “Tsk. Tsk. Still talking. You know, you really are very annoying.” Before you could say “I”, Rain had grabbed a hold of Valkyhn’s neck and had lifted him off the ground. He squeezed tightly, blocking Valkyhn’s air path. “There we go. That oughta shut you up for a while.” OoC: I think in every battle, I make Valkyhn nearly die. Har. O.o Anyway, I was hoping to uh...level up (right? o.O) Valkyhn. Who would I ask to do this?

Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
OoC:
1: Rain only bites for grave wounds, he's a vampire, hence wounds like those (stab and slash wounds) aren't grave to him ![]() 2: XD he doesn't like blood - no exceptions 3: Rain doesn't talk so much XD and 4: The evolution system is scrapped - gone. If you want to upgrade Valkyhn.. you just.. go ahead and do it O.o You don't need permission anymore. 5: You said you want to level up Valkyhn, right? I have a slight idea :3 I'll PM it to you when I think it through. *goes to research* BiC: Fingers gripped the neck, pressing into the throat. The air, sensing no right of passage, dissipated from the lips, causing them to be washed over in a blue tint. Killing this one wasn't essential, so there was no need to force such a fate upon the lycanthrope. Rain took on a frightening tone, hoping to scare the lycan out of attempting another attack. His voice shifted, sounding like a low, frightening grumble rising from the very depths of the lake of fire itself. His eyes flashed crimson. A red that resembled the stains on his clothes, but much brighter, and much more convincing than his iris's previous colours. Rain now saw everything through a blood-red filter. The water falling from the clouds seemed like blood running off the leaves now. Vampyric fangs seemed to lengthen, but it was only his lips parting. A rumbling tone that suited such a vampire escaped the parting, and with it, words to adhere, and fear. "Do you even think you can defeat the likes of me?!" Rain's wrist shifted, making Valkyhn's neck twist slightly, threatening to break it, or rip it off... whichever came first. His attempt at frightening the werewolf seemed to be working, and at this point in time, acting like a ruthless vampire lord would seem to be sufficient, but only for now. "Well, do you?! The most powerful vampire lord that ever walked Earth, one who has been to hell and back!" For a moment, his acting turned into reality. Gritting his teeth, a flung Valkyhn into a nearby tree, splitting it. Splinters fluttered, Rain regained his mentality. Although, it hadn't been totally lost, he still knew what he was doing, and how he was doing it. For now, he couldn't contain the shadows any longer, the exploded from his own, and scattered about, covering the area with a black mist. But no, now wasn't the time to grant an escape. Rain would have to make sure that the lycan wasn't ready to follow. From what had happened already, the vampire had realized that Valkyhn was a slippery one. Being scared after what had been dealt would just be a mask of conscious illusion. |

Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
OoC:
1. I thought I showed that all those slashes made them grave. Guess not. Sorry. 2. Again, sorry. Earlier, you said we could make it work, and so that's what I tried to do. 3. Sorry. 4.Sweet. His "upgrade" is shown in my post. It's a double-edged sword so to speak. With one edge being more sharper than the other. (I think you'll know which one )5. I'm still waiting. IC: His pain was no longer present, his mentality, consciousness, retreated into his subconscious. His fear and pain induced rage was all that was left. It had bottled up inside him until he was unable to contain it anymore. Though he was aware of his surroundings, he paid no heed to them. All feelings were gone, save hate. Valkyhn’s eyes gleamed with bloodlust and rage, his teeth were now fangs, as if he wasn’t able to fully transform into his wolf form. Death was the only thing on his mind. To kill Rain and make him suffer. He quickly stood up, kicking a tree branch to the side. His eyes registered that his surroundings were darker, mistier, but he paid no heed. His eyes focused on his prey and he pounced. Valkyhn’s rage enabled him to tap into inhuman powers, superhuman strength and speed, speed that rivaled even Rain’s. And with this speed, he closed in on Rain. Valkyhn lunged his sword towards Rain’s chest, but he moved to the side with his own inhuman speed, barely missing the blade. But Valkyhn didn’t stop. He immediately turned and swung to Rain’s head. Rain ducked just in time and slammed his fist into Valkyhn’s chest, sending him flying into yet another tree. Much to his surprise, Valkyhn stood up as if unphased, though Rain knew he was. With that punch, he had broken three of Valkyhn’s ribs, one nearly puncturing his heart. Valkyhn attacked once again, swinging his sword at Rain who continued to dodge. Finally, after five minutes of non-stop slashing and dodging, Valkyhn finally caught him in the arm. His blade went deep into Rain’s shoulder, blood oozing out the wound. Rain was wincing in pain and gritting his teeth. Valkyhn pushed down even harder, causing a scream to utter from Rain. “Yes! Beg for mercy! Beg me to save your life!” yelled Valkyhn, laughing. “If this….doesn’t stop…you’re the one who’s going to die!” “No. I have no weaknesses. I feel no pain! I am invincible!” Something of a smile quickly spread across his face, and then quickly went away. It seemed as if he knew something Valkyhn didn’t. Or at least that Valkyhn wasn’t able to.

Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
Dissapointed?
Yes, he was. Feeling overpowered by a mere creature of the underworld? Not in the slightest. Rain watched as blood stained his clothes as it did so many times before. He felt the crimson fluid trickle down his arm and chest. Although it seemed to be a hefty price, Rain had gotten what he wanted. Valkyhn was becoming overconfident. That alone would be his downfall. "No. I have no weaknesses. I feel no pain! I am invincible!" Rain chuckled to himself. Such a fool. No one on earth is invincible. Everything has a weakness. It's just a matter of a little time, and a little thoughtfulness, not excluding a little trickery sometimes. Valkyhn twisted the blade, Rain gritted his teeth at the sound of grating flesh, steel and bone. Ugh.. Rain thought, Enough of this. Seraph raised his hand, and put it against the blade. His fingers wrapped themselves around the sharp edges as they etched into his skin, soaking the metal with even more of what it hungered for. The vampire bared his fangs threateningly as his strength overpowered that of Valkyhn's. He forced the sword out of the wound, and at the same time, connected the werewolf's chest with the sole of his foot. He once again found himself airborne, but without his weapon. Where was his sword? The answer to that, would soon fall on him. Literally. The clear sound of scraping metal and the shimmer of sunlight bore down as the sharpness pierced his stomach. Done so with such a force that cratered the ground. Rain landed softly a few feet away from Valkyhn's body. Perhaps the fight was over, or perhaps Valkyhn would be up for another round. Either way, the werewolf wouldn't stand a ghost of a chance. OoC: Lunchbox, POST IN OKAMI'S RAIN! |

Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
OoC: XD XD XD XD
IC: It’s over. But I thought… The cold steel that lay in Valkyhn’s chest numbed his body. He couldn’t move. Only feel. Pain, agony, the cold hands of death slowly reaching towards him, turning him to dust and soil and transporting his soul to either a paradise or a hell. His rage, which had given him temporary immortality, or so he thought, had dissipated, its aftereffects left to present even more pain to Valkyhn’s already agonized body. He could taste blood in his mouth. He could smell his sweat. Hear his heart thunder against his chest, threatening to burst out of his chest, trying to keep him alive. Funny, how at times like these, you realize the irony in things otherwise would be hidden or unaware. His vision was going dimmer, cloudier, blurrier. It was hard to keep focus and Valkyhn soon found himself slipping into and out of consciousness. Time slowed, only amplifying and elongating his agony and unbearable pain. And then, it was gone. The pain, the agony, everything. At first, Valkyhn thought that he had been blinded, but soon found he was surrounded by nothing but light. He had suddenly become calm, peaceful. He no longer had feelings of pain or thoughts of death, for he now was dead. He didn’t know how he knew this, just that he was. He looked down upon his body to find himself wearing an elegant white robe with gold and silver designs etched all over. His body had no scars or wounds. His face was not dirty nor his hair messy. Instinctively, he looked for his sword, but did not find one. It was then he found he was floating. Though he did not panic. He knew that if he were alive, he would be surprised, but here it felt natural, as if he had been doing it all his life. After noticing all the changes of the afterlife so far, he turned his attention back to his surroundings…or lack of. He was unsure of where to go now or what to do. Did he just stay here until someone got him? Or was this it? Was death just endless wandering around an endless world of light? And then, a thought crossed his mind. Mom? Dad? Are they here? Will I be able to see them? Timmy? What? Did someone speak? Frantically, he looked around. Am I going crazy? No, Timothy, it’s me. Your dad. You’ve grown up to be a fine son. I wish I could’ve been there to help you through life. His eyes widened. Dad? Where are you? I want to see your face! DAD!! Valkyhn dropped to his knees as tears flowed down his cheeks. Do not cry, Timothy. Though you cannot see me, I am here. But, can I see you? Just once. No. I’m sorry. A hand suddenly fell upon Valkyhn’s shoulder. It’s not the time to meet your parents. You still have a life to live. Now, go live it! And suddenly, the white light was gone. Valkyhn now stood in nothing. And then, he too disintegrated into little flecks of light and disappeared to go back into his world. Valkyhn’s eyes opened slowly and sleepily into a world of light. But this light wasn’t white nor did it envelop everything. Instead, it cast a bright glow on the earth. It warmed the body, calmed the mind, and made the world a happier place. Silently, he pushed himself up from his prone position and looked around. Never before had he sent he world as he did that moment. Everything was more vibrant, alive. Somehow, the world had changed in those hours he lay dead. No longer did he see the evil and darkness in the earth, but instead the “bright side of life”. His concealed depression had now disappeared. He himself felt more alive. All thanks to a vampire. A creature of the night. Oh, sweet sweet irony. OoC: It's not the end. Not even close. Yes, it's the end of the fight, and Valkyhn has lost, I still have a lot of stuff planned for this. Well, maybe, it'll be implemented into a Crossroads. But, as for now, it shall be continued. Edit: As I said in the post I have written after this one...wait...time travel? Sorry, off topic. As I said, this is the end of the battle, but it will continue on in my new fan fiction that I should (heavy emphasis) work on during holiday break and a Crossroads meeting with Rain and maybe a special guest!...who will want to kill me...and Rain....maybe...STAY TUNED AND FIND OUT!

Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
OoC: *Keeps count of all the FFVII: Advent Children references* I think I counted.. two so far XD.
BiC: Valkyhn sat up slowly, grunting as if still in pain. His eyes held a bewildered gaze on the world around him. He rotated his head slowly as if he awoke in some strange new place. The sunlight filtered down from above, the clouds had dispersed, the day was turning into the night. After Rain's final attack, he had stood there for a long while, just watching the rising and falling of Valkyhn's chest. The vampire was slightly surprised that he was able to survive an attack of that caliber, but not surprised enough to be moved by his survival. Rain had been standing there for hours, just waiting to see if Valkyhn would eventually give in to the wound or if he would live to fight another day. The latter was becoming more and more prevalent with every passing second. The vampire somehow expected this, Valkyhn was strong. Not one to be put down easily. He exhaled heavily before struggling up a little, bewildered by the sights around him. Rain smiled to himself. I just knocked the freaking wind out of him. When Valkyhn stood up firmly, his eyes fell upon the vampire, who folded his arms and leaned into the shadow of a tree. "You've been out for hours." OoC: Sorry, all I could scrounge up. Re: Okami's Rain (insaney)
The sight of the vampire came as a surprise for Valkyhn. He had thought the vampire would have left by now, figuring Valkyhn was dead. Though his amazement flooded him, Valkyhn kept his face blank. “And you’ve waited for me this whole time? Aww, how sweet. Somebody must love me”
The vampire laughed. “Even close to death, you keep your insolent remarks.” “What can I say, it comes naturally.” “Clearly. You’ve gotten into a lot of trouble with your smart ass mouth, haven’t you?” “Well….yeah…Wait! Are we gonna sit here talking like old friends, or are we going to fight again?” “Depends.” “On what?” “You. I only fought you because you attacked first. I don’t go around fighting unnecessary battles with idiots like you to pick fights just to windup dead. Now, if you want to continue fighting, be my guest. But, this time you won’t get up.” “No. I’m done fighting. When I was….dead, I… met my parents, who were killed only days after I was born. My dad told me something… something I’ll never forget. Oh god, I’m sounding like a soap opera.” “Then please…shut up!” “So then….what now? We shake hands, wish each other luck, and just walk away?” “If that’s how you want to do it.” “You’re not a very decisive person.” “Yeah, I guess. The two warriors fell silent. Valkyhn looked out into the forest looking, really, at nothing at all. Seconds turned to minutes. The sounds of nature were now all about them, no longer part of the sub audible of their conversation. The trees rustled in the wind, the sunlight gently casting its light to the dark forest. Suddenly, Valkyhn spoke up. “Have you ever…felt like you just wanted to die?” “What?” “I’ve been….depressed for a long time, having thoughts about killing myself. I was weak. Too weak to face my fears. I would hide from them and after a while, I became depressed. Instead of doing something about them, I would pity myself.” Rain laughed. “You freakin’ emo.” “Hey!” He pointed up towards Rain. “Don’t call me emo!” They once again fell silent. The wind was blowing gently, whispering. “So…,” started Rain. “What now?” “I don’t know….I’m having second thoughts about something… Have you ever felt ashamed of something?” “Oh god, here comes the emo crap again.” “Shut up! You know, I’ll fight you again! I feel better than ever! I’ll run laps around—,” “Oh, really!” Rain had suddenly appeared behind Valkyhn, pressing Valkyhn’s sword against his neck. Valkyhn stood “Well, okay….maybe if you, uh….stood still.” “Goodbye, Valkyhn. May you live to see thirty.” Rain returned Valkyhn’s sword to his sheath. He turned around, walking away from Valkyhn, towards the thick woods of the forest. “Wait,” said Valkyhn still facing the opposite direction. “If I never need help again, would you be willing to help me?” “I’m a vampire, Valkyhn. You’re a lycan.” “So? What does that have to do with anything?” “You’ll see…soon enough. And yes, if it doesn’t involve getting my head chopped off, I will help you.” “Thank you. It’s kind of ironic that you nearly killed me just hours ago.” Laughing, he turned around, only to find Rain had already gone. “Well, fine! So rude. I wonder if all vampires are like that…” Then, he noticed a difference in color and texture in the grass. He walked towards it, finding it to be a piece of paper. He bent down to pick it up. Valkyhn Okami, you have been invited to a trip to the moon by Virgin. The launch will happen on September twenty-third at ten-thirty a.m. We will arrive shortly after midnight on the Twenty-fourth. Be a part of history! The rest of the letter was legal notes, explaining that they were not responsible anything that were to happen to him, unless a problem concerning with Virgin. In the back of his mind, his mind was racing about why Rain would have something concerning of his. But all he could utter out was: “Well…that’s a... nice birthday present.” ZEE AND! OoC: FFVIIAC Refs? Well, I could see how the afterlife part was subconsciously influenced by it, but what about the other one or ones? Also, insaney, I will PM you very soon, with an idea that could be very pwnsome indeed. Let me work on it some more, okay. For now, just uh.....be you... >> Edit: Well uh...I guess it was close to the end. I'm gonna go...edit that now...>> Edit 2: Sorry, I use the white background. I changed it to red. Maybe that's why everyone hates my small writing.... Hmm....
