A fresh grave (Zelda Gaiden)

Kaid looked over the edge of the woods in remorse of his old life, before he had learned more than he wanted to know of himself. His longing for the familiarity of his forests grew as he watched a swarm of birds ascend to the heavens and then plummet back into the trees. The smell of freshly upturned earth convinced him to stand from his position in the grass in favor of seeking out the scent. As he reached it he noticed the smell of blood intermingled with it. As he reached the cause it was obvious, a fresh grave for some creature. The limbs mangled out of it at different points. He looked away giving it its proper burial with a quick heave of dirt.

As Kaid looked towards the northern section of the forest he saw a figure through the trees, walking slowly towards his direction. Quickly grabbing a limb from a nearby oak, Kaid swung up into the tree and quickly ran through the treetops until he was over the figure. It seemed to be a rather young girl, too young to be walking the forests on her own, especially with fresh graves turned up for the animals to root around. He dropped down in front of her, hands raised as to not arouse any violence.

“Sorry little girl but I think you should leave before you get hurt in these woods.” Kaid grinned as he pointed to the shallow grave behind him. “Some dangerous animals will come to dig up that scent and eat the carcass, and they’ll claw their way through you for a meal.”

The girl just snorted at Kaid as she passed him by. Kaid reached around and grabbed her by the hand, and almost lightning fast the girl grabbed a sword from her sheathe and slashed at his arm.

Backing up slightly, trying not present himself as a threat kaid told the girl ‘Now I don’t mean to make trouble. I just wanted to warn you, but if you insist on fighting me allow me to call my priest so we may both live after our battle.

Nodding slowly the girl lowered her blade a little, giving Kaid a gap to sound off a few rapid whistles and a portal of light flashed into existence and a man clothed in dusty robes stepped out and nodded at both Kaid and the girl, signifying neutrality to each of them.

“Are the conditions fine with you?” Upon asking the question Kaid awaited the girl’s resonse.

OoC- Wow...my first battle...I'll go easy on you, Okay? lOl.

BiC- "Conditions? Yeah." Sakari said bluntly. Although the young girl had no idea of what those were. She took a few steps back and readied herself.

Then she ran with all her might, she is very light which allows her to run at great speeds, and she struck him in the side.

The man doubled over, but pushed the pain aside quickly. This might be harder than I thought... Sakari thought as she watched him get up. He had the most intense expression on his face...

Suddenly before Sakari could dodge the attack, Kaid knocked through her with his shoulder which sent her flying back into a tree. She too shook the pain off quickly and got back up.

Sakari performed a "high jump" and brought her sword down on Kaid before he could move. He fell to the ground. "So...am I still a little girl?" Sakari said hatefully while running towards the fallen Kaid.

Kaid just grinned and blocked her with his sword, Now their faces were close but, with the swords between them. She could see he had a patch over his eye.


Sakari then jumped and kicked off of Kaids chest performing a back-flip. She landed a couple yards away and readied herself for his next attack...




OoC- I'm, like, really sorry that its so short, but I just got back from a tireing softball game and I really have to get some sleep.

Not very good and again quite short, I promise I’ll get longer as time goes on.

Kaid rose to his feet laughing, he pulled his bow from his back along with a few arrows. Sighing he placed them on the shelf of his bow and took aim at the ground before Sakari. Concentrating, a red sheen flashed over the tip of his arrow, and he let the arrows fly hitting the ground just before they reached Sakari. An explosion sounded and dirt flung itself into her face and all over her clothes. Wiping the dirt from her face, Sakari charged Kaid again, he watched as she brought her sword to swing at his right shoulder. Falling back he placed his bow onto his back and waited for her to reach him. As the girl began to bring her sword against him he drew his broadsword and planted it in the ground, caulting over it he brought his right foot smashing down into her left shoulder then planted his left on top of his right, bringing her to the ground.

Drawing his blade from the ground and placing it back in his sheathe Kaid sighed as he said “Are we done yet, little one?”

As she rose from the ground Sakari stated plainly “Not even close, and stop calling me little damn it!” she swung her legs around at Kaid’s knocking him to the ground and pointed her blade at his throat. “Are you done, stranger?”

“Oh I assure you little one. I will not let you continue in this forest.” Kaid grabbed the end of the sword and pulled himself up by it, his hand bleeding and muscles torn within it. He brought his hand to his mouth and drank his blood. “I do not take minor wounds as a serious threat, to pass by me will be to injure me beyond repair.” Kaid concentrated and the forest let off small amounts of energy which flowed into Kaid’s hand, mending the tissue.

Redrawing his bow Kaid pulled a small flask from his pack and took a deep drink of the wine inside. He then beckoned for Sakari to charge him.
