Out of Character Thread

Welcome to the Out of Character Thread! ^^ ...Again. Here is where you may discuss any and all things related to the Battle Arena. As the name implies, discussion here should be entirely OoC, meaning, of course, Out of Character. IC (or In Character) posts go anywhere else in the BA, such as your battles and/or your RPs with other members.

Here is a list of possible topics which may be talked about in this thread (you don’t need to feel limited by the list either, as it is just a guideline).

• Characters - This includes characters production, development, inspirations and so forth. Anything related to BA characters, as long as it does not have a better place in the character approval section.
• Writing - This can range from showing off your technique to asking for criticism. You can discuss how you write, or whether or not you want to learn something. You can post some actual work and ask for comments or advice and so on.
• Specific events - Such as battles that are taking place or ones that you plan on making. This can be to recruit members, or just to get some publicity. Not a wide variety in this category, but I’m sure you’ll all find something.

Errrm, this is something that you would normally ask about in the OOC thread in the BA. I can't really help you with that, it depends on whether you want your character to be magic based or not. Just post your character in the Character Approval section.

If any changes need to be made, an approver will let you know.

And I already have my char approved, but when i advance my magic, I wanna have some Idea what Zhou can do

So, does this mean we can introduce scenarios and all yet? Or shall we wait for everyone to settle in to their new hobbit-holes?

I'm already settled into mine. I've got a hot tub, big screen TV, and a shooting range down here. So if you've got a scenario, go ahead.

Then again... Maybe you'll want to wait for some more people to settle into their new holes.

If it's the entire thread that you post as the monsters, I'm not quite sure. I know I've had battles where one or two posts are focused on the technically NPC villains.

Man, has anyone noticed that there's a lot of people asking for teachers. I don't think I've seen so many for a long time. Yay, the BA... er... EH's is growing! Is someone eventually going to change the name back?

Well, I don't mind the name, though I prefer the Battle Arena.

I was wondering what you all thought of my writing style. This is a battle-type part from the fanfic Me, Sugaroxxx, and Djinn are working on called Telling the Untold. I wrote this over the past few days.

Shron couldn’t bear to look, and yet he did. The slaveholder slapped the young girl hard across her mouth. The child sent out a chilling cry of screams, screams that belonged to Klinia. And that was it. Shron’s fear disappeared. All he thought about was the young girl. Shron moved through the crowd and to the black gate. His fits closed over two bars of the fence and his leg pushed him over the entire gate. “Stop!!!” Shron screamed at the slaveholder as he was running towards him. Before Kune could hurt the child again, Shron sent his elbow flying at his head. The bandit slammed to the dirt. Shron unsheathed his curved blade and spoke again, “Leave her alone! She has done nothing!” The frantic child ran back to her parents.

“Let them go!” Shron yelled a split-second before Kune could regain footing. The angry man snarled and tackled Shron, who pushed Kune back again. “What have they done to deserve this?” Kune unlatched the monstrous blade from his back and swung it wround madly. Shron bent over backwards to avoid the sharp edges. He then parried as the cutting edge fell at an oblique angle. Shron saw his chance in Kune’s defenseless side and took it.

Brought back, Shron’s leg was able to kick Kune’s side at full force. Kune turned around and whammed Shron with the flat side of his axe. Shron turned in a profile stance to make his shoulder accept the blow. This attack would’ve seriously injured any other person, but to the Sheikah it was merely a bruise. But he was still knocked to the ground. The Sheikah flew from the dirt and performed several spinning crescent kicks with fire spewing from his feet. Kune fell and Shron unsheathed his sword.

Pretty good.

Why won't they change the name back? It should stay as Battle Arena, since that was the best name for it!

Not bad, Wolfen. Though, you still lack in description. Maybe I could provide a few tips? I was your teacher once ^^

Okay, so you described her cry pretty good here, but what about her face? What does it look like while he's hitting? After? You've got to see everything.

And that was it. Shron’s fear disappeared.

Care to show what his face looks like as he loses fear? You're telling, not showing. Describing his expression as fearless would tell the reader that he is, in fact, fearless.

I'll stop there, in case you're getting annoyed with me, heh.

I dunno, I kinda like the name. ^^

And welcome, Zelda Gaiden, to the ZUBAC! We're always happy to have promising newblood to liven up the place. I'm starting to think, though, that we actually don't have enough teachers. Once Milady returns from Summer Break (which has yet to even begin) she can take up some of the slack for everyone; but we're stuck in a rut till then. *sighs* ...Maybe I should become a... ... ... *blinks* Did I almost just say that? o.O; I'll shut up now.

Oh, and one more thing... *christens the new OoC with Jack Daniels* Whooo! Party!! *turns the OoC into a rave*

Actually, Wielder, you can't say ZUBAC anymore. At least, not until they change the name. Right now, it's ZUEHC... which sucks.

Heh, Wielder, you really need to get over your having power issues . It's not hard to tell that you'd like to teach, but if you don't speak up soon, either someone will get a position before you, or you'll not be needed. Get going!

On another note, I hereby order everyone to pay attention to Icy Angel's "Battle Arena" thread. It's going to be wicked. As soon as we get posting, that is.

But I was only joking. You don't have to read it, but... you should.
