Venture into the tangled forests of Faedwood, far from the walled cities and wide streets of civilization---far from all semblances of law and order. Here amid the shifting shadows and tightly packed trees strange cries echo, their sources growing ever more distant as you attempt to get near. Come deeper still, across a bridge whose builder’s bones are imbued in the masonry and whose names are long forgotten. Here your already doomed soul will meet a man the likes of which you have never seen. He is ancient, having spent his youth long before the bridge was raised. His body is worn and beaten with age, wrapped in robes made of tattered cloth and leather. He holds in his hand a staff of ironwood—gnarled and pitted as the fingers that grip its dark brown surface. One glimpse into his eyes however, would teach you the truth of his entire existence. One glance would unfold the reasons for his hermitage. Unfortunately, that one look would be your last.

Voyage into the forest, seeking the legendary hermit and the powers he wields, safe in your knowledge that one mere look can’t possibly kill you. What do you have to gain from finding this old wizard? Well, you could put to rest the rumours that secretly he has built an unholy army out of the tortured and transformed remains of the forest’s vanished tribes. Or, you could seek him for more personal reasons; tap his knowledge of magic, alchemy and the dark arts---provided he finds you worthy enough…
