A Terrible Misunderstanding. (Scoria)

Alchemy, the art of deconstructing a nonliving organism and rebuilding it as the alchemist desires. It has been said that an incredibly skilled alchemist could probably create intricate mechanisms out of mere dirt.

To this day only one alchemist has successfully created none other than a clock, made purely from dirt. The alchemist was titled ‘The Gear Alchemist’ by the government of the country of Amestris on the northwestern continent.

Eiro was seated in a library. She had been trying to find a way to be able to at least remove the helmet of her armor, and alchemy seemed to be the key.

If this guy can create a clock out of dirt, imagine what he could do to relieve me of this curse.” the armored knight thought. Eiro quickly left the library to catch the next boat to Amestris.

If she moved quickly she could find this “Gear Alchemist” before the week was over. Amestris was only a two days boat ride from the port, and she was sure that she could discover where this man lived once she was over there.

Two days later…

“Attention!” shouted Eiro. She had just exited the boat and found that Amestris seemed quite similar to where she was from. The only major differences were the clothing and the weapons.

“Does anybody know where I can find the ‘Gear Alchemist’?”

A few people laughed at her. Most people were too frightened of her due to the demonic voice her helmet produced, but enough people laughed to keep her from hearing any answers.

Grumbling to herself, Eiro made her way through the town to the local tavern. She was bound to find somebody who knew where this ‘Gear Alchemist’ was there.

Little did she know that ‘The Gear Alchemist’ also known as Zapri, was in this town. In fact, he was at the exact tavern that she was heading towards…

OOC: Dreadfully sorry for the short post. I have quite a bit of catching up to do on a few battles, but my other posts in this battle will be better than this post.

Re: A Terrible Misunderstanding. (Scoria)

"Not only are you to young, but we don't want your kind around here!" The proprieter of the tavern yelled as he literally threw Zapri out the front door, seconds after a strangely atired person walked in.

"Nobody takes me seriously..." Zapri muttered to himself as he rubbed his butt and stodd up, brushing dirt off his pants.

Wiping his forhead he headed off into the rest of the town to look for a place to stay for the night. He'd be leaving in the morning on the closet train. The young alchemist had just finished a mission and was ready to head back to Central City.

The owner of the tavern walked into the building and placed himself behind the bar counter, going back to his usual work of keeping the place clean, the drunks out, and customers happy. Rubbing his scruffy beard he noticed a newcomer he hadn't seen in town before. This person wore large heavy looking armor, somewhat menacing to any normal person, but as the owner of a tavern he gets quite a few strange people daily, whom sometimes bust up the building.

This mysterious person simply sat at the front counter, not saying anything. So wondering what was up with him the bartender approached.

"What'll it be stranger?"

The stranger lookinghim straight in the eye through two tiny slits, "I'm looking for an alchemist, going by the alternate name, the 'Gear Alchemist'. Do you happen to know where he is?"

The bartender sighed, "Yeah, he was here only minutes ago, but I threw him out. We don't like alchemists around, plus he was to young."

To young? How old is this alchemist? Eiro thought.

She immediatly stood and walked out the door, as she left the bartender called out to her, "He said he was leaving in the morning, better find him before then."

----------

Hours past and morning came, Eiro didn't find Zapri for he was hidden well. He had climbed up to the top of a building and just layed there to sleep for the night, and now that it was morning the young alchemist made his way down to the train station.

By Eiros luck she was making her way to the train station as well, last place she hadn't looked in town. As she walked by passerbiers she asked if they had seen an alchemist, most shook their head, but one pointed to a young man with a long fleece and short brown hair who was hopping onto the train at that very moment.

"Hey! You! Alchemist!" Eiro yelled.

Zapri looked in Eiros direction with a tired look on his face. As he saw her he was startled by the armor. Oh crap! More trouble!

He moved fast and jumped onto the train.

Re: A Terrible Misunderstanding. (Scoria)

Not even bothering to take into account the fact that she didn’t know what a train was, or what its purpose was, Eiro ran onto the metal contraption after Zapri. The door was slid shut behind her by a uniform wearing man.

“Where did he go?” the knight asked. The uniformed man pointed wordlessly towards the front of the train. Eiro could barely make out the alchemist’s form weaving in and out of the small packets of people.

Damn, I can’t move as freely through these people as he can,” thought the female knight. She quickly smashed a window and slipped out of the train, climbing onto its roof.

She nearly fell off as the train began to move. “So that’s what a train is for.

Eiro ran across the roof of the train, jumping from car to car. She nearly fell multiple times but managed to make it across the train to where Zapri was. The alchemist was sitting in one of the padded seats thinking Eiro had given up chasing him.

“I wonder what that guy wanted,” the Gear Alchemist muttered to himself. “His voice sort of echoed. I wonder how he did that…” If the alchemist weren’t so focused in his thoughts he would have noticed the armored warrior hanging upside down at his window.

Eiro merely hung for a moment trying to decide what to do. This kid was obviously frightened of her, so he probably wouldn’t stand still while she climbed into the train. If she smashed through the window though, that definitely wouldn’t help with getting him not to run.

Zapri yawned and stretched. Despite the fact that she was four years older than the boy was, the armored knight noticed his amazing looks. He was quite handsome for his age, something that probably got him quite a few girls.

Stop it Eiro,” she scolded herself. “You’re four years older than him and you can’t even take off your armor. Remember, you’re just trying to see if alchemy can help you remove your armor.

A rather rotund man sat across from Zapri. The man was roughly in his sixties, and was reading the local newspaper. When he was finished with his paper the man lowered it.

Upon lowering his paper the fat man noticed Eiro. His gaze focused on the armored warrior, thinking it to be another invasion, the rotund man slowly drew a pistol. The armored knight saw this but being from a foreign continent, she had no idea what a pistol or a gun for that matter was.

Zapri saw the man raising the gun and interpreted it as the man drawing the gun on the alchemist. He quickly sprang up and attempted to wrestle the weapon from the man’s hand. During the struggle a couple shots were fired into the ceiling.

“What the hell are you doing?!” shouted the old man. Passengers left and right screamed and ran off to different cars. During the chaos Eiro broke into the train through the window completely unnoticed.

“’Gear Alchemist’,” said Eiro. She had to yell in order for her voice to be heard over the screaming passengers. The demonic voice her helmet produced boomed over the civilians. “I wish to speak with you!”

Seeing that the armored warrior had broken into the train, the old man twisted the pistol and aimed it at her…
