Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
A shroud of Darkness has fallen over the savagely beautiful land of Bengalia. Over the course of a year their royaty was shattered, peoples imprisoned or evicted and farmlands and forests corrupted. Deemed a lost cause by the imperials they sent only a few scouting forces which were quickly lost.
The guardian spirits of Bengalia gave the last of their fighting energy to open gateways, drawing warriors from random worlds and unfortunately, some evil forces too. Strength spent, the spirits retreated into five sacred groves which then came under attack by the evil. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Shasta! Shasta where are you!" the little girl cried. The only reply she heard was the hungry crackle of fire. She ran back into the temple and was showered with embers. A frantic movement caught her eye. In the corner near the altar, a figure wreathed in black held the stone head of a deity in one, long clawed hand. The body of small boy lay sprawled near the wall. The little girl screamed as the figure raised its free hand and smeared her brother's blood over the eyes of the god that abandoned them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our heroes have the choice to try and save the spirits and reunite them, cleansing the land of evil and make mincemeat of the demons. Or attempt to marshall the forces of Bengalia and build an army, assaulting demonic strongholds and freeing the kingdom. Evil characters can do what they want...

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
Nyle rode silently along, on a land animal that the primitive people in this time called a horse, his hood up and his left hand straying to the gun hidden behind his cloak. Behind him rode 300 warriors, all who had joined him for a sole purpose, to help rid these lands of the evil demon hordes. So far they had been fairly quiet, talking silently amongst themselves. Most of them came from this time, but with a few trips back in time, the soldier had recruited a few of his older friends, army buddies from his days in the Armgron 5th platoon. He himself didn’t know why he had been brought back, but the soldier was not one to question fate after all he had been through. There was a grunt behind him and another rider came up along side him, Nyle, but he preferred to be called Nyke.
“There is an uprising, the blue haired one wants to leave, and he is trying to persuade others to do the same,” the man said silently. Turning round, Nyle watched as the blue haired man muttered words to those around him, who were nodding in agreement. Sticking a hand up, he stopped the group, dismounting the horse with a quick jump. Before the blue haired man noticed, Nyle was next to him, and with a swift tug, pulled him from his steed. The man landed with a thump, and was about to get up when he felt the cold barrel of one of the soldiers pistols to his head. “If you wish to desert fine, but don’t ever try to take people with you,” Nyle said coldly, and fired. The bullet passed the man’s face, catching the end of his nose, and buried itself in the dirt. The man screamed, clutching his nose, and ran off, stumbling into the edge of a forest. Shoving his gun back into its holster, he turned back to the small army. “I do not blame you for wanting to leave, but know this; the next man who tries to take anyone else with him will have a bullet lodged in his head before he can blink!” Nyle shouted angrily. No one moved to leave, but all bowed their heads. Mounting his horse again, he started the group going. “That wasn’t that harsh” Nyke grumbled, shoving his own gun back into its holster. Laughing at his friends face, Nyle rode on. Ooc: ok im going to combine getting an army and freeing the spirits, ill explain how in next post. Oh and no killing of my army!.... yet! |

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
Dusk snuck up on the land of Bengalia, it's wide open field prepairing itself for the darkness that arives with nightfall. Near the edge of the field the forest wavered nervously as it awaited.
Out from the forest a shadow leapt forth. It spun through the air and zipped across the sky faster than the human eye could keep up with. Although it was moving fast, not a single sound could be heard coming from it. It moved like a ghost from a young child's nightmares, yet it would cause the bravest men to cry out in fear. But you would be thankful if this figure flew past you this fast without stopping, for this shadow was more frightening when it was standing still. This shroud of darkness was known only by the name of Sin, although he had gained a new name since his last rampage. He had heard of the growing darkness in Bengalia and he needed to see it for himself. It was a shame that such a nice land had fallen under darkness under someone besides himself. He knew he had to eliminate this force. But sadly Sin wouldn't be doing so to help, he would only free the land so he could take over and claim it as his own. In the distance he noticed a large figure marching through the grass, obviously a demon of some sort. Sin licked his lips in hunger. Out from his sleeves and into his hands shot two large weapons much resembling zanbatos, only they were seratted. His form pelted forward through the sky at the large monstrosity and aimed directly for his head. The demon never knew what hit him, the last thing he remembered seeing was the grassy path in front of him. Sin hacked off the creature's head without even slowing down. It flipped up into the air as Sin snatched it in his hands, continuing his lightning fast trip across the field of grass. He grunted with distaste as he absorbed the contents of the demon head into his body, then he discarded it along his path, "Weak minded fool." he thought to himself. He ignored his poorly fixed meal and returned his attention to his path in front of him. There was small hill up a ways in his path, so he proceded to fly over it. But on the other side was a small army of about three-hundred or so. Sin paused in the sky and fazed into invisiblity. He examined the army and saw that it was not demonic but human. Human's were weak minded, even weaker than demons. He tried to think if he would either help this pathetic force out and turn on them later, or kill them now and save them the trouble. Deciding to take his first choice he floated down to the ground. It would be more entertaining to kill them off after they became heros anyway, but he couldn't be seen in his normal form so he transformed himself to appear as something else. He regained his visibility, but the soldiers had not noticed him yet. He tried to think through who he would disguise as and finally decided. His entire body began to melt down into his desired shell. He quickly morphed into a tall and muscular warrior with flowing white hair, two long swords were sheathed neatly on his back. Black robes covered his entire body save for his head. This was Sin's favorite part: The deception. Ooc: Ok, I don't want Sin to be revealed. Remember he is a master at deception so his intentions are not going to be discovered very easily.

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
A man ran through the forest clutching his nose. His fear and pain were so intense he didn’t notice a crimson boot stick out in front of him, causing him to fall to the ground. Neither did he have time to react as the Bloodsaber plunged into his back and a hand reached into his pocket, extracting his gold. The domensian warrior pocketed the gold and looked out as an army marched across the plain. An army? I wonder where they’re heading. Well the more humans killing each other the better.
Giving the dead body one last kick Link XI walked off through the forest. He looked up through the trees and guessed by the position of the sun he had been here about an hour now. The memories were still fresh in his mind of the great black wormhole that had engulfed him and sent him flying into this forest. Where am I? He asked himself once more but he was still no closer to finding the answer. As he walked he pulled out his Bloodsaber and absent-mindedly spun it between his fingers. “Man, I’m so bored. I need a battle and soon.” He thought out load. He looked forward to a clearing of trees and was shocked at what he saw there. A near-death human female who wore ripped and torn clothes and chains round her ankles. Her face was scratched and scarred and looked very weak. Link XI ran up to the woman and knelt by her side. “Wha…what is going on? Who did this?” She weakly looked up at him and said in a weak voice; “Demons. They attacked our village and imprisoned us all” She had a violent coughing fit and continued; “Me and a few others managed to escape the demonic prison but many of us perished on the journey to this forest.” She had another coughing fit and said a few more words. “Please help us, save Bengalia.” And with a few more coughs she passed away. Link XI had a large lump in his throat. He had always had the highest regard of demons as they had fought by the side of domensians in the ancient war against the angels. How could they allow humans, however foolish and useless they were, to suffer so? If they had any honour they would kill the humans straight away. “I must honour your last wish” The warrior said to the deceased woman, “I shall rid this land of demons even if I must sacrifice every human on this miserable planet, I shall.” But how? He wondered. A smile appeared on his face as he pulled up his long hood and turned back the way he came. That army must be attacking the demons; I shall follow them in the shadows, evading their gaze. They should lead me right to them. And with the plan forming in his mind he set off after the humans, stepping on the fallen solider on the way. |

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
In a tangle of forgotten ruins by citizens and travellers alike, a hidden wind rustled the many creeping vines trailing from the walls. It grew in intensity, pushing piles of leaves and derbis into tiny dust-devils. From its epicentre the air itself seemed to be splitting open. Surely enough, a sliver of light opened, becoming longer and wider and blazing blue-white. Now the size of a well-mouth, its intensity retreated, pulling back and halting at its edges. It resembled a circle of slowly churning water seemingly lit from within.
From within a figure emerged, a dark silhouette against the dancing light. Illdian stepped clear of the portal, brushing wisps of blue light of his shoulders. He started off toward the east, his cloak rustling behind him.

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
Illdian rambled into the shattered remains of a village. It was deathly silent, like a crypt. Burned out houses and the bodies of livestock stretched into the forest. He walked slowly, careful of every noise and strange shadow. He neared a house with broken windows, its door ripped off its hinges and flung aside. He leaned inside only to see dried blood peppering the walls. A shifting movement caught his eye and he recoiled, instinctively reaching for his sword. A sudden blow to his face threw him backwards and out of the room.
Over his head a spined figure flew, landing heavily on the dust of the street. Ildian spun, drawing his katana and holding it straight at the creature. Seemingly ready to pounce, the creature instead seemed placated and settled on its rear legs, growling deeply and raising the many dagger-like spines on its neck and back. It skin was a deep, translucent red and seemed to be stretched over its rippling muscle. It snapped at Illdian, revealing three rows of interlocking teeth. Illdian circled it and made his way to the village centre. There, at the edge of a stone platform he faked to the left, jumping right and skewering the creature down the back. By the way the demon fought Illdian was sure he didn't cut its backbone. Black blood oozed from the wound. Getting closer to the spines, he almost sat on the bucking creature, braced himself and wrung the curved blade. The demon's spikes tapped harmlessly on his armour as the sword twisted into its back and finally, broke through. As the body slumped to the ground Illdian could see dozens of figures emerging from the forest. They were of average height, with wiry muscles and short brown hair. Some carried short spears, axes with weighted heads and even crossbows. From the pained look in their slanted eyes Illdian could see they were accustomed to hardship and not merely hiding. A grey-haired man stepped from the crowd, two boys at his side. One had twin wakizashis at his hip and the other a Kunai. The old man extended his hand and Illdian took it. He had gotten his army and a good one at that.

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
Ooc: no posting twice in a row is spamming, and shouldn’t be done unless you have a good cause, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s your thread.
Bic: The army rode along silently, Nyle once again at the front with Nyke behind him. Suddenly something appeared up ahead, a man, who was waving to the group. Once again Nyle put his hand up to stop the group, and with a jump dismounted. The man came running up to him, his white hair blowing about wildly. “Are you the group of warriors heading for the demon castle?” the man asked. The question slightly puzzled the soldier, since the army was supposed to be a secret. “Yes, why do you ask?” Nyle said cautiously, his hand straying to the V.M.H.P.S. The man gave off a aurora of unease, which made Nyle feel very… uncertain about the man. “I would like to join you,” the man replied. The request took Nyle by surprise. “Umm… okay. Do you have a horse,” “No,” “That’s lucky then, a horse became spare a few moments ago,” Nyle replied, and gave a high pitched whistle. The blue haired man’s horses came trotting up, stopping near Nyle. “Take this until we finish the journey,” the soldier said, handing the man the reigns. As the man grabbed the reigns the horse began to whinny in fear, bucking and trying to get away from the man. Ooc: sorry for short post im a little backed up with other stuff at the moment. |

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
"That horse's sixth sense is going to cause some trouble." Sin thought to himself.
"So, what's your name?" Nyle asked casually as he began to signal his troops to begin moving once more. Sin placed his hand on the horses head, causing the fluids in the animal's mind to slowly message and relax the brain. He grabbed onto the saddle and swung himself onto the creature, placing a firm mount, "My name is Sed, I was born in Bengalia but was raised elsewhere." He lied with perfection, "That's why I come to fight with you, to defend my home." Nyle nodded as the army began to move once more, "Have you ever fought in a war before?" Nyle asked. The sound of the horses feet trotting was not quite what he was used to in war, but still it gave the feeling something big was about to happen. Sed chuckled slightly, "I've fought my whole life and got the battle scars to prove it." he smirked, "Fought to defend a city called Rainburn far south of here, but the city fell. I was the only person who escaped alive." Sin felt proud of his lies, he had already planned out an answer for any question thrown at him. Nyle raised an eyebrow but said nothing more, this man reminded him a bit of himself. Sed was the only one to survive in a large war, very similar to what happened to himself. Sin glanced back at the army, the whole lot of them very capable soldiers. He couldn't wait to sink his teeth into their minds, but he would just have to wait. Of course he kept these feelings deep within himself so as not to recieve unwanted attention. Bengalia could be seen now, a small thick line on the horizon. The filed was quite long, even larger than the famed Hyrule field. Ooc: Meh, this one is short but CJ's need to be influenced.

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
The forest was silent. No a leaf blew in the wind, not a mouse scurried past the trees. The only sound came from an army that was marching parallel to the foliage a short distance away. All was tranquil and peaceful. That is until a certain domensian came rushing through.
He lept over logs and swung on branches as quietly as he could. He had greatly fallen behind the army in his speaking with the woman and now had to reach them before they disappeared into the distance. Damn. I’ll never be able to reach them at this pace. If only Anope could run through these woods. I could ride her just outside it but there is a too bigger risk of being seen. I’ll have to try and do it like this. After another half hour of running he was no closer than before. He decided his best option was to ride on Anope. He stopped and left the trees before reaching for his harp and plucking its strings a few times. He closed his eyes and concentrated on Anope’s face and began to play the melody of howls. As he had anticipated the silver steed came running from the direction of the army and the domensian lept in the air before gracefully landing on her bare back. She put her head down and had a nibble of the grass, which Link XI couldn’t help laughing at. When she was ready they set off in the direction of the soldiers. It took another 15 minutes before they came into view and the dark warrior and steed edged their way next to the forest. Well that didn’t take as long as I anticipated. Suddenly the wolf’s voice came to his mind. This time he only said one word; Look. Then something happened to Link XI that hadn’t before. The wolf sent him images, moving images. He was in wonder of what they meant until it dawned on him and he took his bow and an arrow from his back. A solider turned as he heard something like a stick brake; he had always had excellent hearing. He turned to where the sound had come from and was surprised to see a man on a silver horse some distance away. He decides to mention it to the man next to him, who had a rather curly brown moustache. “Hey, did you se-“He was cut off in mid-sentence by an arrow in his forehead. He slumped down on his mare’s back, dead. The moustached man turned to see where the arrow had come from, great surprise on his face, and met the same fate. In that brief second a sense of unrest filed its way through the small army, as did the message that two of its soldiers had been killed. |

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
Ooc: sorry angel. it sucks to be a newbie
Bic: Illdian's archers all pulled back on their bowstrings and released another volley into the woods. He had instructed them to keep the metallic glint of their enemies' weapons in sight and aim just a little above it. Surely enough alarmed cries and shouting rose up from below. "Keep firing." he commanded, nodding to the Chieftain's son. He raised his arm, and roughly two dozen blue-skinned creatures each the size of a large workhorse ambled forward. Their heavy, reptilian legs were covered in a thick, leathery skin while their forelegs were nothing more than clawed stumps. Two riders balanced easily on their backs, seated between wide backbone joints. The trainer held reins that ran forward and through the creature's nostrils. The other rider was armed with either a spear or crossbow. "Hold there. You others, come forward." he called, and small groups of armed men jogged forward stopping short of the riders. Illdian walked to the highest point of the hill, where the Chieftain sat, looking pensive. "Honoured one, the archers are doing as told. The onslaught will flush them out of the trees. When they attack, our forces are prepared to fight them on the slope. If they try to run however our riders are eager for a good chase." Illdian paused and glanced at the battlefield again. "The Kevlars are ready?" the Chief asked, a hint of nerves in his tired voice. He knew that the Kevlars were natural hunters and were more aggressive than horses. Even Illdian knew them to charge a terrified cavalry, more often killing the horse first. "Yes Chief. They have not had meat in two days." Illdian said, keeping a respectful tone. The Chief's tribe was now in real danger, a few were in his family. To force them to fight would be insanity. Thankfully the war effort was of their own choosing. The sun was just beginning to set when he called off the archers, ordering them to conserve arrows and wait it out. Soon he could see figures emerging out of the woods in battle formation. Their horses halted and thumped the ground nervously. Illdian readied the archers and brought the footmen to the lip of the slope. The Kevlar riders stood back, their steeds snorting and growling deeply.

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
Ooc: don’t beat yourself up, we were all n00bs once.
Bic: Stopping the group and ordering them into a huddle, he signaled for Nyke to dismount as well. Noiselessly the other soldier jumped from his horse. “Arrow’s came from over there,” Nyle said silently, scanning the area for any movement. There was a whistling sound and moments later another arrow was shot, aimed at Nyke’s head. Smiling, the man didn’t even move, but just watched as the arrow drew closer. A moment before it struck him it exploded, making ripples in the sphere that surrounded him. “A basic flaw in your plan my friend, he’s a shielder, while me on the other hand, well, im a shooter,” Nyle shouted, trying to get the hidden enemy to reveal himself. A neurotoxin missile would flush him out, but the soldier preferred not to waste ammo on petty opponents. Another arrow was shot, this time at him, and at that moment it gave away his position. In a split second the two soldiers acted as one, Nyke jumped in front of the arrow, while Nyle whipped out both pistols and fired off 10 rounds from each gun, and after a millisecond some of them struck a target. There was a sound of a horse panicking and another sound of someone hitting the floor. “Like the old days in Armgron,” Nyke laughed, walking towards the fallen foe. After several minutes of cautious walking, the two found their hidden archer. He was laid on the floor unconscious, two bullet wounds in his arm. Next to him was a horse, who was nudging its master. “Bind him and put him on his horse, we’ll keep him till he wakes,” Nyle chuckled, and scooped up the man’s weapons, a bow and a sword with a dark red handle. Studying the weapons, he waited till Nyke had finished securely binding the man and then he walked with him, the horse slightly nervous at being pulled along. “Nye, keep these safe,” Nyle shouted at a female soldier, throwing the weapons to her. Not even looking at the weapons she caught them with one hand, her eyes focused on the road ahead. “What is it?” Nyle said silently, his voice filled with slight puzzlement. The woman had been an excellent sniper in the army days, since her eyes had been genetically enhanced to be able focus on anything far away. “Get everyone in a circle, and get the shielder’s ready,” the woman replied, still keeping her gaze fixed on the horizon. Not even questioning the woman’s judgment, he shouted orders for everyone to form a semi circle. “Nyke, Nyl, Ny, get shields up to max, cover as much of the group as possible, Nye get ready for cutting down whatever tries to shoot at us,” the soldier barked, bringing out his V.M.H.P.S. In response the woman brought out her own weapon, a long barreled sniper rifle, capable of punching a hole in even Nyle’s armor. Four soldiers moved to the front of the group, and after a moment a silver transparent shield buzzed up, covering the group, and after a moment it disappeared, invisible to human eyes. “Isn’t this a little much? We don’t even know what’s ahead of us,” Sed said, trying to keep his horse still. “Nye never bother’s with studying something if it isn’t a threat to us, or its something we have to help,” Nyle replied, keeping his eyes fixed on his weapon. With his free hand he reached to the back of his coat, and brought out a small purple colored missile, and loaded it into the top barrel of his weapon. Satisfied that the group was now ready, he barked more orders, making the group advance forward. The trees were beginning to thin, and soon they would be out in the open, ready to face whatever enemy was about to attack. As if in response a volley of arrows suddenly rained down upon them, but none got past the shield. Someone was unlucky, and the sound of a horse whinnying in fright was heard, and a few moments later a body hitting the ground. “Don’t break ranks, we have the enemy outmatched, nothing will be able to penetrate the shield as long as it has power,” the soldier said, making sure no one turned round to see the arrow filled corpse of a man and horse. Another hail of arrows rained down upon them, making some of the men cry with alarm, thinking that the shield wouldn’t hold. “Can anything penetrate this shield of your?” Sed chuckled. “Nothing short of a high powered laser gun, which is what most of my soldier friends are using. When we fight, we don’t like to be outmatched.” The soldier replied, his hand twitching near the trigger for his weapon. After a few minutes the arrows stopped, giving the group time to recover and ready for a fight. “Nyke, get the rest ready with your weapons, I want all shielder’s picking off the front line of the enemy, but keep enough energy for the shields,” Nyle barked. The man didn’t reply, but turned to the other men and began issuing his own orders. After several minutes of quiet conversation, the trees finally ended, and the army was met with quite a site. They were at the base of a small hill, with another opposing army at the top of it. “No Rewan or Flagin soldiers, or any of our own, so there’s no possibility of them breaking the shield before it loses energy,” Nye said, reading the enemy lines like a book. “Are there any demons?” Nyle replied. “It looks like it, but on each is sat two men, both bearing weapons, so it is more likely that they are just steeds,” the woman replied, already aiming her sniper for one of the beasts. If these people were not in league with the demon’s there was no point in killing them, but since they had already taken a life, he had to kill at least one. Scanning he found the perfect target, an old man sat with two young boys and a rather young looking man. Striding over, he picked a large micro pad off the back off one of the shielder’s, who was equipped with a speaker. “ATTENTION!!!! OUR ARMY DOES NOT WANT CONFLICT, WE ONLY WISH TO KILL THE DEMON’S THAT PLAGUE THIS LAND, BUT SINCE YOU HAVE ALREADY KILLED ONE OF OUR MEN, WE MUST REPAY THE DEED!” Nyle said, his voice ringing around the hill. Making a chopping motion, he gave the signal to Nye, who in a millisecond fired off a round. A millisecond later it struck its target, the bullet passing through the skull of the old man and carrying on. Even from their distance the men of Nyle’s army saw the bullet strike, and how blood splattered over the people around the old man. From his many days of commanding his own platoon, Nyle knew that something like this would register as too harsh with his own men, but the message had been sent, and more would follow if the army attacked. “IF YOU ATTACK EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU WILL MEET THE SAME FATE AS THE OLD MAN! A FIGHT IS NOT NEEDED HERE, BUT IF YOU WISH TO DIE THEN ATTACK!” Nyle shouted through the micro pad. The army didn’t move, they were waiting for an order from someone. As the army waited, there was a groaning sound, and Nyle turned around to see the man from the forest waking, his shoulder still bleeding from the blood. Ooc: okay Shimsil if you choose to attack your army will be decimated, but if you choose to not then Nyle will make peace and not attack you, and probably ask your army to join his. |

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
Sed chuckled and unsheathed one of his zanbatos, "You do know that a noise such as large as the one you just blasted across the field will alert the demons of our location?" Sed asked, staring off into the woods far ahead.
Nyle turned to the man on horse back to his side, "I know that, don't question my actions." Nyle warned him and turned back to the other army who were still trying to decide on what to do. "Don't underestimate these demons, they have power much stronger than your pathetic lazer guns." Sin chuckled as he awaited the demon hoards that would soon rain upon them. Sin would be commanding his own army at this moment if he could get to it, but he needed someone strong enough to help him to do so, and he hated the idea of help. "THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE," Nyle boomed through the micropad, "WHAT IS YOUR CHOICE?" Sin smirked as he pulled out his second blade, both of them quite long and crossed at his sides, "Here they come." Sin smirked as the trees far ahead began to rustle slightly. Birds flew from the woods far ahead, screaching in fear. Nyle noticed it too and squinted his eyes to get a better look. Out from the forest, a volly of arrows zipped through the air and toward their shield. "Steady, the shield will hold!" Nyke shouted to the others. Sure enough, the arrows bounced off the shield, none of them getting past. "See, Sed? Our shields will hold." Nyle bragged slightly. "You ever heard of a thing called dark magic?" Sed asked the warrior next to him. As if on cue, another volly of arrows pelted from the trees and through the sky once more. But as they got closer, a dark ball could be seen on the tips of them. "Just a heads up," Sed said calmly, "these ones will get through."

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
Illdian slowly wiped the blood off his face. The Chief was dead, being cradled by his sons and wives. Their cries of pain seemed far away. Illdian walked over and lowered the dead man's eyelids. He then gestured to the archers to hold fire. Silently he strode to the Kevlar riders and jumped up onto a small, wiry beast. He rode off leaning into the slope of the hill. Two others hustled forward to ride alongside him.
Trapped within his own thoughts Illdian reached the cluster of troops under the trees sooner than he thought. A rippling shield covered the lot of them. "So this is what kept or arrows at bay." he thought. Without a word he slipped from his steed, the other two riders trotting up behind him. The Kevlars seemed spooked and fidgety. His hands tested the strength of the field. The harder he pushed the denser it seemed. With dozens of eyes and weapons trained on him he gently stroked the surface, a purple light building between his fingers. The riders behind him muttered nervously.Without warning he walked through the shield, leaving a pale ripple of energy in his wake. The click of a rifle broke the silence. "Your commander, please." he said in a smooth, polite voice. After much shuffling and sour looks a man stepped forward through the ranks. Illdian looked him in the eye for a long three seconds. A hatred unlike anything he had ever felt passed through the air between them. His tone however, was as polite as could be. "Your technology is commendable. Though these people would most definitely disagree." he said, looking back at the hill where a number of figures were hurrying around. "I sorely hope this dosen't feel like a victory to you." he said, an unreadable look on his face. Nyle tensed at the statement. "Now you judge our actions. Who do you think are the real demons?" Illdian paused, and raised his hand which trailed wisps of purple light. He tapped the inside of the silver shield which softly imploded, with the generators sizzling slightly. "Funny. Demons often balk at technology." He turned and walked back to the circle of Riders that had formed around the troops. Clustered together as they were, Nyle's forces would have been easy to skewer in one brutal charge. Illdian leapt onto the back of his steed and turned his spearmen around. A sudden flash of crimson light erupted from the hillside and another from near the trees behind them. He could see a smoking crater on the hilltop, with shadowy figures emerging. The tribesmen were under attack!! He snapped the reins and galloped faster, not bothered with the fate of Nyke's forces huddled together under the trees.

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
A few things:
1) As I said, nothing can penatrate the barrier from the outside, not even dark magic. 2) the generators only malfunction either when the packs lose power or the shielder is killed, so Shimsil your trick wouldn't have done anything. oh and Shimsil you skipped Link X_I, you were supposed to post after him. |

Ooc:
1- It wasn't your forces, Shimsil, it was the demons! Re-read what I posted. Quote:

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
Link XI gave a small gasp of pain in his right arm and shoulder. A slowly opened his eyes to see Anope’s red mane and broad neck and slowly lifted his head. As he did a great pain rushed through his mind and he tried to clasp his head but realised his hands were bound.
“So your finally awake.” said a voice next to him. He turned to see a woman that looked a few years older than him and wearing some kind of silver body suit. She had similar weapons to the one who had attacked him before. “What gave it away?” He said painfully as he sat up on Anope, his shoulder and arm aching and saw the woman gaze at it. “Do you have a healer or something here?” “A healer...oh, you mean a doctor. Well I can help you out there. Let me look at your arm.” She lept of her horse and walked behind Link XI, unbound his hands and looked at his blood-soaked arm. She looked at them for a moment and said; “The bullets aren’t very deep in your arm, brace yourself” The domensian didn’t have time to and let out a cry of pain as she pulled the shell from the skin. He clenched his fists and teeth as pain once again rushed through his body. I should be used to this by now. Behind him he heard someone laughing and turned to see a man with flowing white hair. He had two blades strapped to his back and long black robes. He felt Anope shiver and take a few steps away from the man. To his right the woman said to him, “That’s Sed, he joined our army not long before we picked you up. Oh, by the way my names Nye.” “Link XI” he said tearing his eyes away from the man. Suddenly the domensian heard a small bang to this far right that almost sent him flying off of Anope. He looked round to see he was the only one to have surprise on his face and eventually saw a man holding the weapon that had been used against him before. “What in the name of chaos is that?” he asked Nye. “A gun?” she asked seeming surprised “it’s a weapon that you use to shoot far away things with, like Nyle just shot that demon out of the sky. That reminds me.” She pulled out a long ‘gun’, held it to the sky and suddenly the same bang was heard and the second demonic creature dropped from the sky. She turned to look at him. “Want one?” “I’d prefer my bloodsaber any day.” He felt his back for it before realising it was gone. “Where’s…?” By the time he had asked Nye was already back at her horse and collecting his weapons from the saddle. He thanked her and asked; “So what do I do now? You took me along with you even though I had already taken out two of your men and you could have left me there to die.” “Well” she said “you could always join us in our fight against the demons. You’d have to ask Nyle though” She pointed to the man who had used the gun before. Link XI lept off Anope and walked off to where Nyle stood looking at someone who had ridden off into the distance. He gave him a tap on the shoulder. “Yes” He said turning to face the domensian. The man’s face was emotionless and it annoyed him that no-one even commented about his eyes. “I wish to join your forces. I shall follow your every command if you just allow me vengeance for the woman in the forest.” He said confidently to the leader. He stared at him for a moment and looked down to a mouse scurrying through the grass. “I must trust that you will follow my orders without question. Kill that mouse.” The response startled Link XI but he held the bloodsaber in the air and thrust it down, slicing off the mouse’s head in the process. “You shall do. Report back to Nye.” And with that he turned back to face the far off rider once more. He walked back to the woman and told her of what had happened. “Looks like you’ll need this after all” She said thrusting a gun into the domensians hands. Only as a last resort He reminded himself. |

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
Ooc: ok before anyone asks, Link XI actually got the idea for my post off me, so there’s nothing wrong with it. Also I will allow Shimsil’s attack, simply because it will benefit me in this post.
Bic: “What happened to the shield?” Nyle hissed. With a flick of his hand he brought up his gun, letting off a blast into one of the beasts the man had brought with it. The shot struck true, and the shotgun pellets buried themselves in the beasts head, also killing both the rider’s as well. At this the other riders charged, waving their weapons, preparing to attack. With boredom showing in their eyes a pair of soldiers from the front fired, their guns emitting white blasts of energy, cutting the riders and beast down with ease. “Something disrupted the flow, but it was only temporary,” Nyke replied, tapping buttons on a small computer attached to his hand. A few milliseconds later the shield buzzed back up, once again disappearing from view. Confident that they were safe again, the solider turned his attention back to the man who had just left, who was riding off to the hill again, where an explosion had just happened. I could so easily pick him off, just one shot to his head and I would be satisfied… Nyle thought to himself, aiming his gun at the man. Deciding that it would be a pleasantry reserved for another time, he lowered his weapon. “I want the entire army fitted with armgron weapons, and I want it five minutes ago!” Nyle shouted to his men. If the enemy wanted to play hardball, he would make sure that all of his men were ready and better equipped. The four at the front nodded, and two disappeared to the back. “Good thing you brought the Weaponry cubes,” Nyke chuckled to another soldier next to him. A few moments later the two returned carrying what appeared to be a small black box, though for some reason it took two of them to carry it. Dropping it on the floor next to Nyle, the two opened it, revealing its contents of hundreds of white cubes. “Pass me one Ny,” the soldier said. Without looking the other soldier flicked up one of the cubes, Nyle catching with one hand. “When you get one of these, press the middle and wait for 5 seconds, then drop your old weapons!” the solider shouted, demonstrating with his cube. Pressing a finger to it, he waited, and moments later the cube disappeared in a cloud of smoke, leaving a machine gun with serrated edges in its wake. Dropping the weapon, he turned his attention back to the battle in hand. Moments later there was a rustling sound as everyone dropped their weapons, all wanting to have a new one. Overhead there were screeches, and Nyle looked to see that some sort of flying monster was slowly making its way to them. Lazily he shot the thing out of the air, watching it fall to earth. There was another one, but before he could waste it like the other one it was shot out of the air. Suddenly he felt someone tapping his shoulder, and Nyle turned round, seeing that it was the assassin from earlier. “Yes?” the soldier said, trying to control the fact that he just wanted to punch the man’s lights out. “I wish to join your forces, and I shall follow your every command if you just allow me vengeance for the woman in the forest,” the man replied. Rolling his eyes, he contemplated the idea. No doubt it was Nye who gave him the idea… Nyle thought to himself. Looking round, he saw a mouse scurrying around near the man’s feet. Deciding that was all he could think of the moment, he put it to the test. “I must trust that you will follow my orders without question. Kill that mouse,” Nyle said, not letting the amusement he was feeling show in his voice. The request startled the man, but he followed the order, beheading the creature. “You shall do, report back to Nye,” the soldier said. Waiting for the man to leave, he began to laugh silently, but snapped out of it at once as he saw the other army being ravaged by the flying demons and also other types of the monsters. The people weren’t putting up much of a fight, and were slowly and surely being slaughtered, all except for the man on the horse, who was in the midst of a group of them, slashing away. “Nyke, Sed & …whatever your name is with the red eyes, follow me!” Nyle shouted, kicking his horse’s sides, spurring it into a gallop. A few moments later the others followed, Nyke riding alongside Sed with the other man trailing behind. As they neared the fray Nyle jumped from his horse, shooting out with his gun at nearby demon’s as he did. Landing with a thud, he shot a missile out of his gun, the small rocket hitting the ground where a bunch of demons were stood, releasing the gas, making them all choke. Dropping the bigger gun, Nyle grabbed his two smaller guns, cutting a way to the other man. A demon got past his defenses, but before it could touch him a sword cleaved its head from its shoulders. “Took your time getting here,” the soldier grunted to Sed. The other three were now stood with him, helping him cut a way through the hordes that blocked their path. |

Re: Quest for Bengalia (5 heroes, evil characters allowed)
Sed lunged forward into battle, spotting two lesser demons that looked like they had too much to eat. Quite amused, Sed moved in for the kill.
"If only they knew who I really was." Sin thought silently to himself as he spun both zanbatos around as if they were lightweight daggers. Both of the over confident lesser demons dropped to the ground, their two ugly heads bouncing down the hill. The whizzing sound of arrows filled the air as Illdian's archers opened fire on the demonic hoards. Although they took down many, the demons greatly outnumbered them Sed jumped through the battlefield with grace, severing each and every one of the monsters in his path. The sight of heads plopping to the ground made him hungry for their minds, but he would have to resist eating for a while until the small battle was over. Only a minute or so later, which seemed like hours to the humans, the demons stopped fighting and stood still in their path. Nyle fired a blast toward them, but somehow an invisible barrier deflected it and the bolt was sent flying into the sky. "What?" Nyle said confused. The demons had created a force field similar to Nyle’s own only it was created by black magic and not technology. All of a sudden, Sed's ears began to pick up on something unusual. High-pitched squeaking sounds began to fill the air. "What's that?" a particularly skilled marksman asked, his keen ears picking up on the sound as well. The noise grew louder and louder until it was unbearably loud. The squeaking reminded Link XI of the mouse he killed earlier, only slightly deeper and more frightening than anything. Suddenly, screaming sounded from behind the warriors soon followed by gunshots. Nyle wheeled around to see his army shooting at the ground; something was crawling up through the ground and attacking the warriors within the shield. "Quick, back to the force field!" Nyle ordered as the soldiers quickly obeyed. Sed left his horse where it was and ran by foot since he moved faster that way anyway. He arrived at the force field before the others. He chuckled slightly as he looked upon the chaos crawling from the ground. Hundreds of small imps were popping out of the ground, biting at the soldiers' ankles and the horses' legs. Sin smirked at the trouble they were going through, but quickly wiped the smile from his face. Nyle and the others soon arrived by his side, staring in horror at the small red fiends. “You guys go ahead and help them, I’ll fight off the demons who are coming back again.” Sed informed, pointing out the demonic force behind them. Their magic barrier had been deactivated and they were all coming back for more. In a flash, the disguised Sin pelted down the hill to great the legion with sword on flesh. As if it were perfectly planned, a volley of arrows joined him in the march down the hill. Ooc: I was a little confused if the forcefield was still up or not.

Well, this is how I pictured it but I couldn't think of how to word it.
![]() Sloppy writing/drawing because I drew it in a hurry without typing. That's my lazyness for you.
