The Arena (Newbies to the BA)

OoC: After seeing all of the newbies, I've decided to give back to my BA community and "train" so-to-speak some of the people new to the BA. I will use all of my chars, simply because. For each of my chars, one person can join. So......that would be *counts on fingers* 9. Although I normally use BW & DC as a team, this time I will be using them seperatly.

So, as due to the nature of this battle, please do not take offence if I give you advice, or lecture you on spelling and grammer. Oh, and no, I will not, use all of my chars at once, it will be a tourny, in which one of my chars will fight someone else's, and the fighters moving progressively up to fight my other chars, as well as each other.



And mods, if you feel I'm overstepping my bounds, please, feel free to lock this. ^_^ I hope I'm not, I just want to help people be better BA members.

BiC: Over the course of the evening, more and more people filled the thousands of seats that lined the massive arena. The arena itself was rectangular, sporting nine seperate squares in a row, blocked off from each other by thick stone walls that reached for the heavens.

Each arena featured an iron door two opposite sides, which lead into a massive underground network filled with thousands of cells containing fighters from all over the universe. As the sun lowered under the horizion, huge fires sprang magically into life all around the arena, lighting each seperate battleground effectively.

The eighteen iron doors were thrown open, and the fighters entered the dirt battlegrounds to an overwhelming chorus of cheers from the spectators.

OoC: Well, there you have it. Have your char somehow get captured and brought to the arena, and choose who you want to battle of the following:

Interesting. Seeing how I've never battled before, not really anyway, please sign me up, would you?

Ooc: I'll join, since no one's bothered to post in my thread. I'll use my only BA character Kudo Hitari, his link is in my sig. Anyway, I'll choose to fight....Cerin. I believe someone named DanielDanciu did something like this, and his thread got locked. Although I'm new, and have no idea what that was all about, so I'll go along with this.

Bic: Kudo had left the town of Hutochi, and had come across an open field. Then, a group of six people came and grabbed Kudo, but he struggled to break free from their grasp. The people knocked out Kudo, and carried him to a large arena. Kudo awoke to find himself in a large, open, and dusty arena, where people were cheering.

"Where am I?" said Kudo as he got up from the ground.

OoC: Ok, remember that I said I was going to give advice (the whole reason I made this thread), so please don't take anything personally. Ok, first, your post is pretty short, which is ok, but most BAers prefer posts with at least 3 or 4 paragraphs. Two, the way you write is kind.....bland. You might want to word things differently so that the reader feels a part of whatever is happening.

Example: "Kudo had just left the town of Hutochi, and had come across an open field. As he walked across the grassy expance, a group of six people leapt out of the tall grass and grabbed Kudo. He struggled to break free from their grasp, but they knocked him out and carried him away. Kudo awoke to the sound of people cheering, and stood up to find himself in a large, open, and dusty arena."

Just some suggestions.

Also, Darril is also available to battle.

BiC: Kudo brushed his jeans off and looked around. Directly across from him was an iron door. Suddenly, the door was throw open, and a winged figure was thrown through it. Kudo's mouth fell open slightly as the figure stood up and ruffled his wings.

"Hi, there." The angel said, smiling and waving. "I'm Cerin." He said, holding out his hand. Kudo shook Cerin's hand numbly. He couldn't believe he was two feet from an angel.

"So, uhh...do you have any idea why we're here?" The teen asked the angel. His question was answered as the crowd started chanting, "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

"I, ah, believe that we're suppose to fight." Cerin said, stretching his wings out. "I have no intention of that however." He leapt into the air, his feathered wings pumping vigorously. He slowly gained hight and speed, untill he was almost to the top of the walls. Suddenly, a loud crack echoed around the arena as Cerin's head collided with an unseen barrier,

The angel fell to the ground, his eyes slightly dazed. Sitting up, he rubbed the top of his head. "Ow. That hurt. Well, I guess we don't have a choice." Standing up, he pulled a double-ended weapon out from under his robe. One end sported twin axe blades, while the other ended in a long, sword blade.

Holding the weapon out in front of him, the angel took a defencive posture. "Well, if we must fight, I promise not to kill you."

Ooc: Okay, so I got to make more detail in my posts, so I can get an emotional and visual connection with the readers right? Also, have at least three paragraphs in my posts? Thanks for the help man.

Bic: Kudo stood there silently, thinking of a plan. He didn't want to kill the angel, as the angel said he wouldn't kill him. Kudo had to find a way to knock or at least weaken the thing to win the fight.

Kudo finally thought of a plan. Cerin then pulled out a large, double ended blade. Kudo wasn't going to lose this fight, even if it did seem pointless. He readied his katana, and was going to defeat this angel, and become known just for that.

"You're going to be the first person I'm going to defeat, so be ready." said Kudo as he drew his katana.

He rushed at Cerin, and swung the katana at him. Cerin blocked with the two-ended blade, and went for a counter-attack. Kudo then used telekinesis to push Cerin back until he hit the wall.

Surprized at such a unique attack, Cerin braced himself as he hit the wall. Struggling against Kudo's mind, he tossed his weapon at the telepath. Using his own mind, he flew Heaven's Spear towards Kudo. Suddenly, the force pushing on him disappeared as Kudo turned it on Heaven's Spear, pushing it back.

Ah...A weakness. Concentrating on Heaven's Spear, he tried to force it forward as Kudo pushed it away. Locked in mental combat, the two struggled to gain control of the weapon. Gradually, the sword blade began to turn towards Cerin.

Releashing his own powers over the weapon, Cerin leapt to the side, advoiding being impaled. Throwing out his hands, he shot a bolt of lightning at Kudo, striking him in the chest and knocking him back into the wall.

"You may be able to control my weapons, but you don't have any defence against my magic." The angel told him, holding one hand up towards the large flame above the corner of the wall, the other pointed at Kudo. A beam of white light shot from his hand, bursting into flames as it hit the ground at Kudo's feet and started moving up towards him.

Kudo saw the flame travelling towards him, and he thought of a way to dodge or counter the oncoming attack. Kudo put his hand out in the and pointed at Cerin. Just then, the trail of fire began to become smaller, and travelled slower towards Kudo. Kudo then jumped back, trying to dodge the travelling flame, and threw his katana in the air.

He then moved the katana around while keeping the flame small, and dodging it whenever he had to. Kudo made the katana fly straight at Cerin, and swung it at him with his mind.

Either he'll try and block my katana, or he'll try and push it back. thought Kudo as he thought of a new strategy.

Cerin hit the katana back with Heaven's Spear, but the katana kept coming back at him. Ever couple seconds the flame came close to Kudo, and he moved a good distance away from it. Cerin then pushed back the katana, and Kudo let his katana go under Cerin's control for one second.

"Now's my chance!" said Kudo as he rushed at Cerin.

Cerin saw Kudo running at him in the corner of his eye. The katana under his control, he turned it and flung it at the telepath, moving the beam of fire at the same time. Kudo ducked under the katana, the blade just barely skimming his hair. As he came up from under the blade, the beam of fire slammed into his chest, causing his shirt to burst into flames.

Kudo was flung back, the flames spreading over his body. Releashing control of the flames above him, Cerin raised both hands above his head, twin balls of light appearing in each. Kudo rolled around on the ground, trying to smother the flames covering his body.

True to his good nature, Cedrin waited untill the teenager had managed to put out the flames and struggle to his feet. Combining both balls of light, the angel formed one, huge sphere of energy. Heaving it at Kudo, he raised Heaven's Spear and threw it after the energy ball.

Kudo leapt to the side, the globe of light missing him by inches. Crouched on the ground, the telepath was caught unawares as Heaven's Spear flew towards him from behind the energy sphere.

Ooc: Reading Cerin's bio was cool and interesting. Over the past couple days, I thought of making a sort of rival of Cerin, a fallen angel. Sounds good to you? Although I'm not making him until I upgrade Kudo one time.

Bic: Kudo had a newfound respect for this angel, but this wouldn't mean he would give up the fight. He barely doged the ball of light, and he raised his katana with telekinesis. He then heard Heaven's spear flying towards him, and he made his katana knock away the double-ended sword in a quick counter-move. The sword was knocked back, but it continued to come back.

Kudo barely dodged the sword the second time, and he pulled his katana towards himself. The sword swung multiple times, but Kudo easily blocked with his katana telekinetically every time. Kudo then knocked back the large sword one last time, and then pulled off a very risky move.

Kudo held back Heaven's Spear with his mind, and struggled to keep it away for him. He then lifted his sword, and made it fly. He made his katana fly at the angel while he was holding back the sword...

OoC: Sounds good to me. its hard to find people for Cerin to fight, since hardly anyone makes evil chars anymore. If you want, you can make that demon person in Cerin's bio, and he can be your char.

BiC: Cerin leapt to the side, dodging the katana and releashing control of Heaven's Spear. As he fell to the ground, he shot a two-handed blast of white energy at Kudo. Rolling as he hit the ground, the angel kicked off and leapt into the air, his wings flapping rapidly.

The large shpere of light collided with the telepath knocking him back. Cerin raised both hands above his head and summoned twin balls of energy again. Combining them, he whipsered to himself, "Its time to end this foolishness."

The energy sphere flew at the fallen Kudo, who was looking up to see the glowing white ball headed directly for him. Rolling away, he grabbed his katana. The sphere of energy hit the ground where the boy had just been , exploding in a shower of light and sparks.

Kudo raised his katana, preparing to throw it, but the angel fired a bolt of lightning at it, the electricity traveling up the blade and shocking Kudo.

((Very interesting. I am much too lazy to read all of your charries...but I suppose I must...give me a while, and I'll pick one to battle against Raziel, k?))

((Alright, How about Sakume fights Karis and Raziel fights Vanyel? I know your profile said Karis doesn't fight females, but can you make an exception? It shoud help my roleplaying skills and we'll be able to find out how good I am.))

Ooc: Let's continue.

Bic: Electricity went through Kudo's arm, and around his body. The shock sent him flying back, but Kudo quickly regained balance. He got up from the dusty ground, and was ready to finish the fight. He ran at Cerin, and swung his katana. Cerin blocked, and flew upwards.

Cerin made a bolt of thunder fly out from his hands, and aimed for Kudo. Kudo jumped back, and dodged the attack. Cerin then guided Heaven's Spear at Kudo, and made it spin while flying.

Kudo hit the weapon back with his katana, and Cerin guided it back to himself. Kudo ran at the angel, and threw his katana. The angel deflected the blow with Heaven's Spear, but Kudo was ready.

He caught the katana with telekinesis, and then threw it back at Cerin. He then pushed Cerin back against the wall with telekinesis, and held him there as the katana flew for him.

Telekinesis: Kudo can move people/objects with his mind, except he can only move one person at a time. He can lift multiple objects at once, but cannot lift people at the same time, or vice versa.

BiC: Using his own telekinesis, Cerin brought up Heaven's Spear and knocked away the katana. The swords clashed over and over again as the angel pushed the katana back towards Kudo. Twirling over the blade and forcing it inot the ground, Heaven's Spear flew at Kudo. The sword end plunged into his leg, causing him to sream in pain and releash Cerin.

The weapon withdrew from the boy's leg and swung around, the axe blades slicing into his arm. Cerin raised a hand and shot a ball of energy at Kudo, ready to end this foolish fight. The boy still had enough wits about him to dodge the sphere and attempt to take control of Heaven's Spear.

Cerin, expecting this, readily releashed the weapon, pulling the Chain of Heaven out form under his robe. As the blade soared towards him, he started swinging the chain around over his head. The angel leapt over Heaven's Spear as it reached him and spread his wings out, floating in the air. He snapped his wrist, sending the large blade and chain flying down at Kudo.

The telepath dodged the blade, but Cerin soared down at him, gaining speed with his momentium. The angel flew around the boy, the chain wrapping around him. Turning around Kudo closer and closer, he finally dug his feet down into the sandy dirt, having effectively bound the telepath.

Ooc: Hehe, he just threw it back at him, so he wasn't controlling the katana and Cerin simultaneously. I wrote it wrong, so my mistake.

Bic: The chain bound Kudo, which prohibited movement. Kudo had to use the technuiqe he hadn't used ever in battle, Astro projection. Kudo's head cocked backwards, and Kudo's body fell to the ground. Just then, Cerin was knocked back.

He was punched back a few times, until a figure appeared. Cerin saw Kudo, except he was a bit transparent. Kudo ran at Cerin, but Cerin swung Heaven's spear at him. The weapon went right through him, and Cerin was punched back.

Cerin let go of the chain, and Kudo grabbed it with quick instincts. Kudo ran at Cerin, and ran around him. The chain unraveled from Kudo, and went around Cerin. Kudo quickly darted back at his body, and entered back inside. Kudo's body began to move, and Kudo got back up.

Ok, guys, this has got to stop. We have a Battle School for a reason. I appreciate your willingness to help, HH, but it's not really your job to "train" newbies. If they're writing is below your par, then help them in individual battles, not by advertising your own Battle School. It's what our council members do when we see fledgling BAers. Just offer to battle with them, and help them that way.

For all of you guys who responded to this -- we DO have a Battle School (check out the sub-threads) for help on basic or advanced RPG writing. It's called the Dome, and as a graduate, I highly reccomend it.

So as for now, this thread is void. Can I get a mod to lock this?
