A memorable battle. (Drewey, Hyrulian Hero, Icy Angel)

OOC: As promised, here's the PG vs OA battle. From what I know, the PG is being represented by HH's Brightwind and Darkcloud, as well as Valion and Sudran. The OA is being represented by Gorin, who will fight Valion and Sudran, and Nenet Miniya, who will fight Brightwind and Darkcloud.

BIC: "I still haven't found her..."

Gorin was sitting in what he considered his temporary home. The late Grasthos' lab had quite a few things that interested the Oblivion Master.

Rather than reading the various books, or training on Grasthos' surviving experiments, Gorin was pacing about the lab trying to think of a way to contact Nenet.

"I just know that Encorna is up to something involving her..."

Gorin sat on one of the old experimentation tables. There wasn't a single sign that the table had been covered in animal organs just months previously.

"How stupid could I have been! Of course!"

Gorin grabbed a pen and paper, and jotted down a letter to Nenet.

Dear Nenet Miniya,
I'm sorry for the urgency of this message, but I fear that a foe of mine is planning on doing something to you. I need you to meet me at the location that Frank will lead you to. I apologize in advance for Frank's lack of any and all manners.
Sincerely, Gorin.

"Frank, Jeorrod!" Gorin called. A red imp and a domerri entered the room. Frank moaned when he saw that the echo had a letter in his hand, but Jeorrod seemed delighted.

Jeorrod hated delivering Gorin's letters, until he met the Oblivion Master's allies Isis and Mirrorin. They actually thanked Jeorrod for the service of delivering a letter.

Frank however, was far less pleased. His role involved leading the letter recipient to whatever location Gorin wanted them to meet him at, and he always had to stay inside the envelope until Jeorrod delivered it.

Gorin wordlessly handed the letter to Jeorrod. The domerri opened the letter for Frank to enter. The imp transformed into a liquid version of himself in order to fit inside the paper envelope.

Once Frank was inside, Jeorrod teleported away. At least now Gorin was bound to find Nenet.

"Oblivion Master! We have come to do battle!" came a voice. Gorin moved over to a window. Four warriors were standing outside the lab, each of them preparing for a fight.

"May as well try to take out the trash before Nenet gets here." thought Gorin. The Oblivion Master leapt out the window, making sure to do a few flips on the way down.

"Now, which one of you wanted to fight me?" he asked.

Re: A memorable battle. (Drewey, Hyrulian Hero, Icy Angel)

OoC: Icy, for all intensive purposes, this is after the "official" joining of the PG.

BiC: Brightwind chanted under his breath, laying shield after shield over the four combatants. Absorbing shields, reflecting shields, blocking shields, trap shields, every shield he knew.

While he cast his protections, he studied his fellow Guardians. His brother, Darkcloud already had his bow out and drawn. He stood out in front of the other three, ready, as always, to bear the brunt of the attack.

Valion stood to Brightwind's right. The mage rather liked him, he reminded him of several of his old friends in K'Vala. The half cyborg, half angel stood with his legs spread, sword held out at the ready.

Looking to the left, Brightwind saw Sudran. He was not officailly a Guardian, but if all went well, prehaps he would join them in their "quest". The warrior's stance was confident, his sword out, but pointed down to the ground, the man leaning upon it.

The mage smirked at what might be called arrogance, but he knew that Sudran had plenty of reasons to be so confident. With the shields in place, The Hawkbrother turned his sight in, up, and out, looking at the landscape with his mage-sight for any nearby ley-lines. The 23 year old nearly fell back in shock.

Not only were there a ley-line, but there were several, and they all joined together directly under the lab in front of them. The lines of power flowed downwards like rivers, and converged to form a small swirling lake of power. Thats-thats a node! I can't believe it! Here?

OoC: For info on ley-lines and nodes, check their history. If you want more detailed info on them, pm me.

BiC: Brightwind could not yet touch the node, only an Adept-class mage could, but he could at least use the ley-lines that fed it. They would support him for a while before he had to fall back on his own mage energies.

The Hawkbrother changed his vision back to normal as Darkcloud addressed the inhabitant of the lab. He didn't understand exactly why this "Oblivion Master" was so important to their hunt, but he trusted his twin's judgement.

The shields set, Brightwind grabbed and connected his powers to a ley-line, shivering as the sudden increase in power surged through him. He drew on the river of energy and gathered it's powers around his hands, ready for whatever happened next.

Re: A memorable battle. (Drewey, Hyrulian Hero, Icy Angel)

Sudran leaned on his blades, his face showing that he wasn’t concerned with the happenings of the battle to come. Valion was puzzled, how could someone who was about to face such a deadly battle not be concerned.

“If you have a question, then just ask it,” Sudran said suddenly, without even moving his head. Surprised, Valion turned his attention back to the lab.

“Why aren’t you nervous or scared or… anything,” Valion asked.

“No point to it, I get distracted, but when in battle, well, you’ve seen me fight,” Sudran chuckled, watching the lab. Suddenly he let out a terrific sneeze, the liquid flying only a few feet in front of him before they hit an invisible wall. The other three took no notice and continued to study the lab.

“Why do we need all these shields, ive never used one in my life, and I have never needed one.” Sudran moaned.

“This person we are fighting, he’s probably more power than anyone we have ever had to face.” Valion replied dryly. Sudran moaned again.

Should have just let Aristo come along for the ride, lousy animal tamer, getting to go with Cyno to claim a bounty, serves him right if they get beaten up on the way… Sudran thought to himself.

“Oblivion Master! We have come to do battle!” shouted one of the twins. Sudran looked in their direction.

“Did you have to make it obvious that we were about to attack?” Sudran muttered under his breath.

“You should never attack an unsuspecting foe,” Valion replied, his hearing much greater than the flame warrior thought. Suddenly a figure jumped out from one of the labs many windows, flipping and landing smoothly on the ground.

“Now which one of you wanted to fight me?” the man said, and Valion recognized him instantly. From his training in the dome he had meet this man, and with his help had defeated a demon.

“Gorin?” Valion shouted hesitantly. The man instantly locked eyes with the cyber angel.

“Ahh, its you, the angel from the Dome, its nice to see you again, although im sorry to see you on the wrong side,” Gorin replied, a fleeting smile crossing his lips.

“Well then, I wish to battle with you now to see if that is correct,” Valion replied, a thin smile crossing his lips. With a swift movement, the angel flicked his sword up onto his shoulder and confidently crossed the space between the two. There was a puffing sound, and Sudran came running up behind him.

“Im only here to even the odds,” the flame warrior grumbled. The two stopped a few feet away from Gorin.

“Shall we begin?” the man said, and without waiting for a reply, attacked.

ooc: Sudran's thought is a link to a second meeting.

Re: A memorable battle. (Drewey, Hyrulian Hero, Icy Angel)

Gorin created twin longswords. He was going to see how the "Ni'Tenchi" or "Two Heavens as One" style worked against two opponents.

He'd tried it on a single powerful foe, two moderatly powerful foes, and large amounts of weaker foes before. This was going to be yet another test of how well the style worked.

Valion brought his blade down towards the neo-echo. Gorin blocked it with one sword, twisting his grip on the hilt to lock both blades and force the angel's weapon to stab into the ground.

The Oblivion Master nailed Valion across the face with the hilt of the other sword. The holy creature stumbled back as Sudran charged into the battle.

Gorin sidestepped a horizontal attack from the flame weilder, countering it with a roundhouse kick to the face. Valion had wrenched his blade from the ground by now, and the fight continued.

OOC: Sorry for the short post. I guess we'll just continue for a bit until Drewey joins the battle.

Oh, here's an explanation of "Two Heavens as One": It is a style that utilizes two longswords. The style specializes with locking enemy attacks towards a desired area (IE: Forcing their weapon into a rock, the ground, etc. Countering their attacks), then countering with a powerful attack.

Masters of the style can even twist their wrists at just the right angle to block and counterattack at the exact same time. There's a few other things about the style, but those aren't important at the moment.

Re: A memorable battle. (Drewey, Hyrulian Hero, Icy Angel)

Darkcloud leapt into the fray to assist the other too as Brightwind tapped into a leyline. The scout slashed across the Echo's back while he was turned to Valion, who had renewed his attack with a downward chop. Gorin caught Valion's blade and side-stepped and sent the angel's blade into Darkcloud, who only just managed to deflect it.

The Oblivion Master was hit from the back again as Brightwind fired a magical bolt at him. The Echo turned on the Tayledras mage and summoned a long spear. Heaving it at the mage, he was attacked yet again while his back was turned by Sudran. The warrior deflected the flame weilder's next attack and prepared to counter, but was forced to leap back as multiple spears flew back at him from the side.

I cannot continue to battle here. They will continue to surround me and attack me from all sides unless I can get a wall to my back. Gorin turned and fled back towards the lab, leaving his foes to follow after him.

The neo-Echo spun around once he reached the building, the others spreading out to form a half circle around him, but now unable to surround him completely. Valion and Sudran advanced on the Echo, their blades weaving slightly on either side of him.

Between and behind them, the Trayledras brothers readied their own attacks. Darkcloud nocked and drew several arrows, while his twin gathered the magical energies from the leyline and formed two more bolts.

Re: A memorable battle. (Drewey, Hyrulian Hero, Icy Angel)

Ooc: the only reason I will stay is if Drewey posts, either that or I’m dropping out, no offence to you Mikey or HH.

Bic:

Stabbing forward at the same time, the two’s weapons moving for different parts of Gorin’s body. With slight difficulty the oblivion master deflected Sudran’s swords, but missed Valion’s, the angel’s sword cutting a deep wound in his leg. Roaring more from the shock of the blow than the pain, the echo took the chance and slashed out at Valion, his swords catching the angel’s left hand, creating sparks as the metal cut metal. But before he could strike again, another bolt of magic struck him, forcing his back to the wall again. Grabbing Valion around the waist, Sudran pulled him back behind the two brothers.

“What did he get?” the flame warrior asked, checking to make sure that his friend wasn’t badly hurt.

“Its nothing, he just made a little dent in my hand, that’s all,” Valion laughed, showing Sudran the tiny cut in his left hand. Sighing with relieve, Sudran turned round to see how the battle was faring, and saw that Gorin was evenly matched against the brothers. Closing his eyes, the fire warrior built up a small amount of energy in the palm of his left hand, and opened his eyes to find a small ball of fire resting in his left hand. With a flick he sent the ball flying at his opponent, watching as the ball left a fiery trail in its wake, nearly catching one of the twins and hitting Gorin in his chest, nearly knocking him over. Before the man recovered the twins were on him, one of them punching him several times in the face.

“Looks like this battle has swung in our favor,” Valion muttered from behind Sudran, preparing to once again join the fray.

Ooc: sorry for short post but hardly any CJ for this post.
