Unusual meeting. (Female character)

OOC: I'm trying to get a GF for Gorin to add a little more depth to his personality. I'm not just going to make a femal character to be Gorin's GF, because I already have too many little used characters.

Look at Gorin's profile before joining. It wouldn't make sense for a girl that wouldn't appeal to Gorin's personality at all to have a relationship with him. This is a quest styled battle, with our characters meeting in a bar. I'll explain the rest after the girl character's first post.

BIC: Gorin sat at the bar. The usual bar sounds filled his ears. The singing, the fighting, the puking. He was only here to have a drink as things weren't doing so well.

Most of the members of the alliance were missing, and he was still reeling from Grasthos' final words. The echo had been trying to start a relationship with a lady, but they always rejected him.

He heard a woman's voice nearby. "I'll have a water, thanks." she said. The lady seemed to be the kind that prefered anything but alcohal, but Gorin couldn't be sure.

"May as well give it a try." he sighed. The echo went to introduce himself to the woman, not knowing that one of the horrors from Grasthos' lab was heading for the bar that very minute...

OoC: I'll use mine. I'll edit this post with my reply.

To see if this would make sense to you... mine is kind of a party animal, and is an optimist. She's humourous, and hates to loose. She can be the best ot friends.

Her name is Nenet Miniya and she is a pirate. She's also 23, and not that much older than Gorin.

Nenet can virtually lift anyone's spirits.

Being a pirate, Nenet was used to theivery and is very sneaky. Now, being seperated from her league, she is nuetral. Therefore, she treats any bad or good person that doesn't tick her off quite nicely.

Sound good? Just wanted to check, incase this wasn't the type you were looking for.

I also have a question about the Oblivion Alliance... is there a spot for me to join? I'm interested.

“Can I have water, please?” Nenet asked the bartender politely.

The bartender nodded quickly and had a stiff look on his face, as the scent up puke wafted from the men’s bathroom. Unlike the bartender, Nenet immediately put her hand up to her nose. “Bah! You’d think that they’d know by now to stop drinking.”

Just then, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around, and saw a man… just a plain, old, ordinary man. Not old in the sense of age… just in the sense of ‘there’s so many of ‘em’.

But this one was different. He was strikingly handsome, with yellow and slightly cat-like eyes. She had never seen anyone like that. And then, there was his hair. It flowed down to his shoulders, and was jet black. He looked at her with a face that was obviously trying to look friendly, because as she could tell, it was normally not.

“Do you mind if I sit next to you?” he inquired, pointing out the barstool to the right of her.

For a moment, she didn’t respond and just stared at him.

“No, no. Go ahead, really. I don’t care.”

The man gave a rare smile, and sat down on the barstool. He took a swig of his drink, as a bartender brought the lady hers.

“So, who might you be?” the man asked, proceeding to take a sip.

“Nenet, Nenet Miniya,” she replied with a large grin. “And you?”

“What?”

Nenet gave a playful laugh. “What’s your name, silly?”

“Oh,” he said, attempting not to blush, “my name is Gorin.”

“Age?”

“20.”

“I’m 23.”

Nenet was being awfully up front and matter-of-fact with him. Not that he minded, though; all he cared was that she seemed to be interested.

For a moment, there was an akward silence.

“What are you?” Gorin asked, immediately regretting it.

“I assume you know I’m human… but… well, actually, I’ve never really told anyone this, but I used to be a pirate. I know, it sounds really corny… but I was kidnapped and thrown overboard. I swam who-knows-how-many miles back to shore, barely making it.”

“Pirate… interesting. Tough girl, eh?”

That moment, they heard glass shatter.

OOC: Nice, you got Gorin's personality down better than some people do.

BIC: Both Nenet and Gorin turned to where the shattering sound had origionated. A large man was standing in the middle of the bar. The man's size was surpassed only by the his strange looks.

He had yellow skin, and he was completely bald. The man's eyebrows stretched out like cat whiskers, and he wore a muzzle. Gorin recognized the man as one of the creatures that escaped from Grasthos' lab.

"Ugh, not now."

The shattering sound was made when the large man tipped a table covered in empty beer glasses over. The drunks were spread out on the floor, obviously because they had already been out cold before the table was knocked over.

"Where is echo?" inquired the large man. His voice was incredibly deep. The man fingered a club at his side. Gorin stood up and sighed.

"Of all the times for one of you things to come after me, why did it have to be now?" he inquired. The large man answered Gorin's question by swinging the club at him.

The Oblivion Master grabbed Nenet and leapt into the air. The barstools that the two of them had been sitting at were reduced to splinters of wood by the mutant's swing. Gorin landed at the other side of the bar and set Nenet back on her feet.

"You ok?" he inquired. He didn't want the first girl to ever show an interest in him getting hurt, especially not when they first met.

"I'm fine." she replied. Gorin noticed the sword on her back for the first time.

"Can you use that thing?" he asked. He didn't know exactly how powerful this thing was, so he might need some help.

"I can hold my own in a fight." she replied with a smile.

"You'd be suprised. To me, this thing is as light as air," she replied, with a wink.

Nenet swiftly jumped to the side, and dashed after the... thing. It roared in anger, and attempted to bring his club down on her head. She scooted to the side, as his club sunk into her blade. Still, the club being thick, didn't get cut in half.

As she did so, Nenet swung around the side and whipped the sword into it's back. It screamed out in agony. Using it as an advantage, she concentrated hard and brought a barrel full of beer into the air, only raising the barrel because it was enclosed around the liquid. She hurled it at him, as it hit the beast squarley in the head. Alcohol burst out everywhere, drenching the thing.

"Now all we need..." thought Gorin. There were no people smoking pipes or anything nearby, so Gorin couldn't simply absorb the fire element from the pipe and launch it at the alcohal drenched beast.

Seeing as he didn't have fire Gorin decided to kill it the old fashioned way. He created a spear out of thin air. The sharp metal weapon fealt slightly unfamiliar in his hands.

"Been awhile since I used one of these." he said. Oh well, the spear would serve its meaning by forcing the beast out the door. They couldn't fight this thing inside the cramped bar, where it would be harder to avoid its attacks.

Gorin rammed the beast with his spear. Ignoring the monster's frantic attack with its club, many of which came within inches of his head, Gorin continued to run.

The echo's strength proved to be greater than the beasts. Nenet followed Gorin as he forced the beast out into the cobblestone street.

"Now we don't have to worry about him bringing the roof down." thought Gorin. He had survived entire castles caving down on top of him, but he wasn't sure about Nenet.

The beast roared and picked up its attack when Gorin pulled the spear out of its gut.

Nenet siezed her chance, and dashed forwards head on. He sword was raised high above her head, straight towards the monster's heart...

Splattered.

The next moment she came back to her senses, and saw her blade deeply embedded in the thing's stomach. It groaned as blood trickled out of its mouth, waving his club helpplessly in the air.

Nenet yanked it out, and with ease, pulled some moisture from the air, formed it into water, and stuffed it in his mouth.

There. He could bleed to death as well as drown.

Oh, how she loved being a pirate! It made her not care about these very things.

The beast made a horrid gurgling noise in its last moments. As the life left the mutant's body it fell to the ground in a bloody puddle.

Gorin and Nenet stood motionless for a moment. It was not because a creature had died around them, both of them were used to that. The real reason they were silent is because neither one had ever expected this to be the way they'd meet anybody.

Gorin finally broke the silence. "You did pretty well." he commented. Nenet had actually done better than the Oblivion Master had expected. She seemed pretty harmless at first glance.

"You too." she replied. The two of them stood motionless yet again before bursting out laughing. What a wacky way to meet somebody!

"So ummm... Want to go to dinner sometime or somethin?" asked Gorin.

OOC: Welcome to the Oblivion Alliance Drewey. You can join any fight that says "Oblivion Alliance" in the title, as those are battles where only members are allowed.

"I'm flattered," she replied as she flashed a quick grin.

"Alright,"

There was a pause.

"Where are we going?"

"I don't know. Where did you want to go?"

"Not the bar, please. We don't need to smell throw up while trying to eat."

"OK, then what do you have in mind?"

"...I don't know."

They laughed. The two of them had just gone in a complete circle.

"I kind of have an idea..." said Nenet tentatively. "Do you like the sea?"

"Yeah, the sea's nice." replied Gorin. Fish food was one of Gorin's favorites. Back during the days of being the god of wrath, Gorin ate fish quite a bit while sailing from continent to continent.

"I think I know a place then." said Nenet. Smiling, she grabbed Gorin's hand and pulled him down the street. He eventually picked up step and strode beside her.

"So, what's the story with that?" the female pirate asked. Gorin raised and eyebrow at her question before answering it with a question of his own.

"The story about what?" he asked.

"That thing you did back there. Not a lot of people can just make weapons appear out of thin air." she said. Gorin fought a mental battle within himself. Should he tell her about Echo Side, or lie about it?

He finally decided to tell her about Echo Side from what he knew about his own experiances and what he had read from Grasthos' notes.

"I died about a year ago. After I died, I was experimented on. Ever since then I've had a body different from my old one, along with new abilities like the one you saw back there."

Nenet's eyes widened at this information. She understood what it was like to be tortured, but to be tortured in death?

"What happened after you were experimented on?" she asked.

"I was continually tortured for almost a year, then I was let free for some reason. Nothing's quite been the same since then." he said. They were both silent for a moment before Nenet suddenly smiled and turned to Gorin.

"Don't be so sad, you can make it better than it was before!" she exclaimed with a smile. Gorin returned the smile.

"Thanks." he said. Little did Nenet know, but she had just finished an emotional battle that had been raging inside Gorin's head for months. Upon Grasthos' death, Gorin had been told that he was in fact a fake copy of the origional Gorin.

Nenet's comment on how he can make things better than they were before made Gorin realize that whether he was the real thing or not, he could still enjoy life knowing that he was himself.

They found themselves at their destination within minutes.

The sea breeze flowed through Nenet's hair as she took a deep whiff.

"I love the sea, so much. If there was anywhere I could be, it's here."

She turned towards Gorin, and he flashed a smile at her. "It really is beautiful."

For a moment, there was an akward silence. That was, until Goring brought up the question, "What are we going to eat?"

"Have you ever fished?" Nenet inquired, with a playful look on her face.

"Well..."

"Without a rod?"

He shook his head, indicating a no.

"Well then, watch this!"

Nenet dashed towards the shore, and leapt into the water. She swam out about twenty-five feet.

"Nenet?!" he shouted, voice echoing. "Are you sure you're not to far out?"

She stopped swimming, and turned around, floating.

"It's fine, really. I'm a pirate, remember?"

And with that, she dove underwater.

Ten seconds passed. Was she... OK? Just then, she popped out of the water and held uper hand in the air. In it was a fairly large fish.

"Look what I caught!"

Gorin's mouth gaped. "You got a fish... with your hands?" He moved closer towards shore.

Nenet nodded, and gripping the fish tightly, swam back towards shore. Rolling onto the beaches, she dropped the fish in dry sand and watched it wriggle.

"I love doing that."

"You mean you've done that before?"

"Of course! When I was younger, I used to jump overboard and catch fish all the time. They'd always haul me back up though. You know, it's funny. Most pirates don't even know how to swim. They love the sea... but they're afraid to be in it if not on a boat. I love it both ways."

"You're one daring kid."

Nenet smiled. "I know."

The fish now appeared to be dead. She had instructed Gorin to find some nice driftwood and reeds to build a fire.

Fifteen minutes later, they had all they needed with their own little campout thing set up. With a flick of her wrist, Nenet lit it and placed the fish on a rod above it.

"Now, we wait. I hope you enjoy my authentic meal!" She flashed another grin.

Wow, she does grin a lot... but that's not a bad thing! Gorin thought, smiling inside.

Gorin smiled. "You really are an interesting character, aren't you?" he laughed. She had surprised him multiple times.

First by being the one who dealt the final blow to that beast from Grasthos' lab, then inspiring him to stop worrying about if he was the real Gorin or not, then by catching a fish with her bare hands about twenty feet from shore.

He sat down next to her as the fish cooked over the fire. The echo enjoyed the smell that the cooking fish was resonating. So much different than the smell of rotting fish, which sometimes made Gorin gag.

Just then a voice Gorin hadn't heard in years piped up behind him. "So the tale's true, you've got a different body than your origional one eh son?"

Harges!

Indeed, Gorin's father was standing behind him. The former god's arm was in the form of a sword. "I'll kill you before you have the chance to escape me again!" Harges shouted.

Gorin's father brought the blade down towards Gorin. "Isn't this old act of trying to kill me getting old?" asked Gorin. He spun around and dodged the blade.

After a quick look to make sure the blade hadn't hit Nenet, Gorin grabbed Harges by the throat. "Listen old man, I've gotten much more powerful since the last time we met and even then I was too much for you."

With a quick spin Gorin through Harges as far out into the ocean as he could. The former god dropped down nearly three miles away. Seeing as Harges didn't have any skin, the salt water would be enough punishment for interupting Gorin and Nenet.

"Who the heck was that?" asked Nenet. The man seemed to have been an old foe of Gorin's, but the Oblivion Master had taken care of him easily.

"Nobody. He tried to kill me two years ago, lost, and came back for revenge. He hasn't gotten any stronger since then." replied Gorin.

Nenet took a look at the fish, then turned to Gorin and smiled.
"Fish is done!"

OOC: I inserted a little joke in there about how I've used my character Harges so little that Gorin's several times more powerful than him, even though they were approved at about the same time.

Nenet slid the roasted fish off of the stick, eager to eat. She was hungry anyways, but on top of that (and most importantly) she hadn't had fish in a while. It reminded her of her days back with Nate...

Oh, Nate...

Suddenly she felt the urge to cry, but she resisted it. She pulled a loose peice of cloth off of her apparel and placed it on the ground, putting the fish on top of it. Carefully slicing it with her sword, she cut them into small cubes so they could eat a small peice a time.

Nate.

Leave my thoughts! Leave them now! she shouted to herself, inside her head.

"Nenet... are you alright?"

Nenet looked up. "...yes."

"You were gritting your teeth and had your eyes squeezed shut.

"Oh..."

"What is it?"

Nenet gulped as she popped another peice of fish in her mouth.

"It's... Nate."

"Whose that?"

"My uncle. Though he's more like a father to me."

"Explain," he asked quietly.

Nenet took a deep breath. "My mother was going to bear the child of an opposing pirate league. My uncle, Nate, was the captain of the ship, and he condemned her to death after I was born. He raised me, took care of me, and we were always great friends.

"When I was 16, I finally got the courage to ask about my parents. He told me, reluctantly, and I got mad at him for killing my mother. I didn't speak to him for days.

"A few days later, we were attacked... attacked by my father's ship. He kidnapped me and Nate, and tried to teach me to be his successor. The kept Nate purely for the intent of making my former pirate league fall apart, which it did. That's besides the point.

"Anyways, I wouldn't cooperate so they threw me overboard. Nate had told me he didn't think I would survive, but I did. Ever since, I've wanted to find him. ...He's the only family I've ever known..."

"Sounds like Jamenda to me." Gorin said. Nenet looked at Gorin with a puzzled look on her face. "Who's Jamenda?" she asked.

"Jamenda was my best friend, but I haven't been able to locate him since the whole Echo Side ordeil. I know what it's like to lose a friend, so I promise to help in any way I can with you finding your uncle." replied Gorin.

Nenet smiled at the echo. "Thanks, that would be nice..." she said. Something about Gorin made Nenet feel as if he would keep his promise to the best of his ability.

Gorin tried a piece of fish, savoring the well cooked meat. "Mmmm, this is the best fish I've ever had." he said.

Nenet turned to Gorin. "Naw, I'm sure it's not as good as you say." she said.

"You're just being modest. It's really good." said Gorin. Nenet and Gorin both began to laugh, forgetting the fish in their mouths for a moment.

Just then, they both started to choke on their fish at the same time. After about two seconds of choking, they both were able to swallow their fish.

"That was weird!" laughed the female pirate. Gorin nodded, laughing as well.

The two continued to have much fun throughout their evening. Nenet caught another fish, and they had a second serving. Next, they had taken a walk along the beach as the sun set. Now, they were finally back at their cookout site, and were lying down in the sand.

"That was really fun, Nenet."

Nenet laughed. "I had a good time too."

"Yeah... who knew that a pretty... erm... pretty nice.... girl like you could slaughter one of Grathos' men, just like that."

He snapped his fingers to add an effect. Nenet laughed.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"I like tough girls."

"Ahh." she replied, in a playful tone.

"Well I like tough guys."

For a moment there was silence. Change of subject.

"Do you think you could teach me how to catch a fish like that, sometime?"

Nenet turned her head towards him.

"Of course! I love teaching people things I love to do."

Again, silence. However, this time, no one tried to break it. Gorin was bold, and moved in closer. He craved her lips, everything about her.

Could he fall in love that quickly? Or was he making a mistake?

Nenet closed her eyes and relaxed as he reached for her.

"Aww, look. Two little lovebirds!"

They both sat up straight, and whipped around. Only god knew who was staring down at them.

OoC: Just make up someone. I don't really care who. XP

OOC: I think this would be a good place to insert Grasthos' former minion Toka. Toka is a necromaster, the highest form of necromancer. Since Grasthos' death, Toka has taken over the death dealer's minions.

BIC: A man wearing red robes was standing over Gorin and Nenet. The man had an aura of unholy power about him, and carried the late Grasthos' staff.

"Toka!" shouted Gorin. He and Nenet jumped up quickly. Gorin remembered the necromaster, and Nenet remembered what happened the last time somebody she didn't know asked for Gorin.

"It seems that the beast I sent after you wasn't tough enough. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to avenge Grasthos and Tohinka's deaths myself." said Toka. The necromaster was flanked by several undead warriors.

Toka wasn't much of a figher himself, but he always seemed to bring company with him. The undead soldiers stalked towards Gorin and Nenet slowly, several of them dragging swords in the sand.

"Nenet, watch out for Toka. He knows dark magic and can attack you with a spell while you're busy fighting another opponent." the Oblivion Master warned. He created twin longswords, ready to use the "Two heavens as one" style.

Toka slammed Grasthos' staff into the ground, sending a wave of energy through the sand. Gorin and the female pirate lost their balance temporarily. During this moment of weakness Toka's minions attacked with greater speed than they had been showing.

"Grrr, why did you have to choose now to be the time for revenge Toka?!" thought Gorin.


OOC: "Two heavens as one" is a style Gorin has modified for his own use when using twin longswords. It involves holding both weapons lightly enough to twist them at perfect angles during attacks to block counterattacks and attack at the same time.

OoC: Alright. I'm going to make up the minions as being little demon-like things. There are other things they could be, but these would seem to be the most fun, as I don't know what the minions look like.

BiC:

Nenet watched intensely as Toka slammed the staff into the ground. A wave of power rippled out, causing her to stumble. She fell backwards, hand outstretched, to catch her balance. Landing with a thud, she rubbed her wrist.

Slam.

A leathery figure, no more than two feet tall, had just attached itself to Nenet's back. Ht threw itself on with a thud, and was continuously pounding on her back. She shook her back hard, attempting to throw it off.

It wouldn't budge. Standing up, while kicking around the oncoming little minions, she jumped upwards and prepared to land hard on her back.

Thud.

The minion squealed and grunted as all of Nenet's 103 pounds, with extra force, slammed into it. She rolled over... phew. It was off.

Next thing she knew, was was on her leg. And then, on her arm. She threw her arm at the ground, and kicked more minions with the minion on her leg. Eventually, both of them fell off.

This is freakin' ridiculous. she thought, and sighed. Why must Toka, or Grathos, (or whoever it was) come after her right when things were getting good with Gorin? Oh, for the love of God!

OOC: Good choice. The minions are different almost every time, and most of the good ideas had already been used before.

BIC: "You should have followed your master to hell!" shouted Gorin. He was trying to hit Toka with his blades, the necromaster narrowly dodging the attacks.

Toka had caused enough trouble for the Oblivion Master in the past. His necromancy had nearly doubled Grasthos' army, he had temporarily turned Jamenda against Gorin, and now he was ruining the perfect evening!

Toka continued to dodge the echo's attacks. Gorin's attacks started to slow down as lesser demons clamped onto various body parts. Toka blocked one of Gorin's attacks with Grasthos' staff.

"You may have killed Grasthos, but I assure you that the same fate won't befall me." said Toka. Gorin swung one of his blades in a last ditch effort to behead the necromaster before there were too many lesser demons holding him down.

As the blade cut through the air towards Toka's neck, one final lesser demon leapt onto Gorin's arm. The extra weight pulling back on the echo's arm caused the attack to stop within centimeters of Toka's face.

"As you can see, a large amount of lesser demons works better than a small amount of medium demons or a smaller amount of higher demons." said Toka. The red clothed man was grinning evily at Gorin and Nenet's predicament.

"I'll just leave the two of you to my friends." laughed Toka. Two dark forms appeared behind him as he began to fade away.

"Toka!!!" shouted Gorin. The Oblivion Master absorbed some water element from the nearby sea. The water erupted in a huge blast that knocked most of the lesser demons off of him.

By now Toka had dissapeared, and two demons stood in his place. They seemed to be identical twins. Gorin realized with an angry feeling in his gut that the two demons were Iruki and Shanz, former allies of his.

Iruki was weilding a broadsword over his horned head. Shanz held a rather large ax with his clawed hands. Both winged demons were wearing identical black armor.

The only good thing Gorin could tell was that Iruki and Shanz were dead and under Toka's control. This was bad news in and of itself, but at least that didn't mean that the two of them had turned on their former friend on purpose.

"Agh, get off of me!" Gorin turned around to see what the female pirate's distress was about. She was surrounded by all of the lesser demons, having been told to by Iruki and Shanz through their minds.

Gorin ran to help Nenet, not noticing that the two demons were charging to attack him from behind...

OOC: Iruki and Shanz are the typical demon. They have red skin, horns, wings, and wield weapons pretty well.

Nenet was completely surrounded. If there was one thing she hated in battles, it was having thirty times the amount of opponents. One on one she could handle... but one on thirty she was not so sure about. Nenet shivered, trying to put the thought out of her mind. As she did so, an idea sparked inside.

"Gorin, step back! Farther... yes, just a little more!"

When he was far enough away, Nenet felt her rage begin to build. A fire seemingly flowed through her veins, attempting to get out. Flames whirled up around the sword, encasing it in a circling motion. Her eyes turned red, as Gorin gaped and stood even farther back, fighting off the two demons attacking him.

Nenet dashed forward with all her might, slashing through through demons with her firey sword like scissors cutting paper. The demons screamed as they were put down, dissolving into a black powder. It began to collect in her hair and on her shoulders, but the flames burned it up.

In less then fifteen seconds, all thirty demons were gone. Ordering Gorin to jump into the water, he did so. The two demons attacking him dare not set foot in there, as the most likely did not swim.

When Gorin was far enough, Nenet chased after the two higher demons, and with one swipe, ended their miserable lives. As she did so, she fell backwards into the sand, panting and exhausted.
