The Underdark - Anyone, any number.

Ooc: For those of you who don't know, The Underdark is a huge complex of caverns and hallways underneath the continent of Faerun (learn more in the Drizzt Do'Urden books by R.A. Salvatore or the Tangled Webs series by Elaine Cunningham). The Underdark is inhabited by Drow (dark elves) Druegar (Grey Dwarves) Sviferneblin (deep gnomes) and Ithilids ( Humanoids with octopus heads and huge psychic abilities); but these races ussually stay to their cities. Other monsters are: Hook-horrors (flightless vulture demons, 6 ft tall) beholders (giant floating eyeballs that are uber magicians) and minotaurs.

Ok now that that's over I can tell you what we're going to do. This is a quest for a magical orb called the Pendant of Stoneblood, which grants the user greater resistance to blows. When the quest is over, the winner can have it if approved.

He could see his house burning, the whole village burning. Women were running, babies were screaming, and the Men did nothing to save their homes. And in the middle of it all was a little boy, smiling with glee. Daryn tried to reach out to the little boy, but his vision faded as something pulled on his left arm.

"Wha-?" Daryn asked as he slowly woke up. Looking down at his arm, he realized what was happening. A long sticky tounge was latched onto his arm, drawing it up to the ceiling.
"Summon," whispered Daryn as the fingers of his left hand moved in an intricate motion of his spell.

Suddenly a giant spider appeared on the floor, clattering it's feet in an effort to rech the ceiling. It's arm lanced out like a spear, and was rewarded with a sickening crunch and an inhuman scream.

Grabbing for his knife, Daryn didn't even notice as a huge wall crab hit the floor. As soon as Daryn had cut his way through the tounge, he dismissed his familiar.

"Well isn't this a cheery little place," scoffed the spellcaster as he gazed about his small cave. Stalactites hung from the ceiling, while most the floor was covered with glowing green lichen.

"Better here than some creature's stomach" The Voice reminded him.

"If it wasn't for this thrice damned quest your mother sent us on, we wouldn't even be here sleeping on stone and always hunted by some new monster!" shouted Daryn.

"Yes, but if It wasn't for my mother, I would not be here, and you would be a poor lost little boy, with noone to remember your name. Besides," added the Voice, "that amulet could increase our chances of survival until we find the Dark elf city."

"Even if that fool sviferneblin was telling the truth and not some tale to keep him alive...... I trust your servants enjoyed the meat?"

Before the spider could answer, a magical alarm went off. "Intruder!" thought Daryn to his counterpart. Daryn peeked his head outside the cave and caught a glimpse of the traveler.
"Definetely not an animal," he thought, "but probably not a friend."

OoC: Sweet! Some one else reads the same books I do! I'll edit this later.

Dreugar are grey dwarves I'll join with Varimathras, who's heavily based on forgotten realms. Got your PM, Varimathras is here . Varimathras will be the beginning of the good side of this story, ne1 can ally with him.

BiC: Varimathras came out from the mushroom forest. The hook horror he was pursuing had a sword in its hand which meant there was a way to get under his armor. If Varimathras could get the sword from the hook horror, he could slide it under the small slit of a crack between its upper and lower ribs, the only weak spot on a hook horror. He ran stealthily into the hook horror's line of sight, only he was behind it. He got directly behind it and used his innate magic ability, the globe of darkness, to surround the hook horror in a dome of darkness, blocking all sense of sight. Varimathras switched his eyes to the infrared end of the light spectrum and smacked the sword from the hook horror's hand. He spun around and jabbed it in the achilles' heel of the vile beast's shell.
"Another one down," he whispered. He then put the sword in his robe's belt and ran to the drow city under control of him since Rein had ditched. He needed to get some allies to find this fabled orb he has heard of, so he walked around the drow city. He then ran to his throne.
"Fire the ass cannon!" Varimathras said.
"Umm, my liege, the ass cannons are empty, we need time to-" the slave was cut short by Varimathras's sword.

OoC: That last part never happened, he's not at his throne.
But yeah, just a question, how much of the Legend of Drizz series books have u read? I'm still reading the Crystal Shard..

Ooc: I've read all of R.A. Salvatore's books except the thousand orcs series. It just didn't appeal to me. But I have read the War of The Spider Queen, which gave me this idea. Oh, and in Varimathris' Bio it never said anything about him owning a city? And ass cannons? Is that a joke?

Daryn could now hear the footsteps of the intruder reverberating off the cavern walls.

"The damn fool would raise the dead with the racket he's making, if the creatures here left anything dead," complained Daryn. "Summon," Daryn commanded again. This time two giant spiders appeared on the floor. Taking what was left from the cloth of the dead gnome's clothes, he wrapped their spear-like feet to muffle their clatter.

"Go now, and bring the fool to me," commanded Daryn.

"This is not a wise choice; we could use an ally here, and wrapping him up in your web will not kindle the flames of friendship."

"Better safe and alive than trusting and dead!" Daryn shouted out loud. The shuffle of boots stopped. "Damn it he's been spooked! Take him!" From where Daryn stood he could here the cat like drop of the two ton arachnids, the shuffle of battle, the insectoid scream of a spider and the dead silence that followed.

The two familiars returned with a twitching mass of humanoid wrapped in spider silk, with barely an air hole to breathe. Grabbing his specially suited gloves, Daryn ripped open the web where the creature's face was.

"Hmmm....." said Daryn. "Interesting."

Yes, the ass cannons were a joke, and its in the fight called the Underdark Duel where he and Rein Aeria took over the drow city of (long name)
