The demon castle (anyone can join, any number)

Ooc: ok this is a quest type battle, you can win an item, so long as you get it approved by someone. This battle will be about a group of people, trying to get a chunk of holy metal blessed by the gods for a blacksmith to make into some holy weapons, amulets, shields, clothing etc. But it is guarded in the bowels of a demonic fortress. You can pick what you want your piece made into at the end. Any kind of person can join. For this I will be using my character, Valion.

Bic: Valion wandered the streets, looking for the talented blacksmith he had heard so much about in this time. As he walked by, people stared at the weirdly dressed stranger, with his black overcoat, with two slight bulges at the back. The also noticed his face, it was horrifying. Half of it was skin, which was normal, and the other half was, metal. And his eyes. Those were the worst. One was like a hawks, the other was blood red.

‘People are staring’ Valion muttered, looking at the gawping faces of the people near him.
‘I should have just flown and looked from the sky’
‘Negative. You will have an increased chance of finding the blacksmith this way.’ said the voice of R.V (Robot Valion, his other personality)

After another ten minutes of walking, Valion came across the black smiths, which had a sign of an angel striking an anvil with a hammer.
‘Humans, think they know what a angel looks like’ Valion chuckled, going inside.
‘Is this the blacksmith of Holy men?’ Valion shouted.
‘Aye, this be it, where supposedly an angel blessed the blacksmith that once worked here, giving him the power to create mighty weapons. What do you want?’ the black smith replied, walking out from next to a burning fire.
‘Can you fix my weapon, I got into a scrap with some… thieves, and it nearly cracked my sword’ brining his sword out of its sheath on his back
‘Well lets have a look at her’ the blacksmith said, taking the sword from Valion. He gave a low whistle.
‘This sword was made in the forges of Heaven, wasn’t it angel’ the blacksmith suddenly said.
This took Valion by surprise.
‘How did you know that’
‘Many angels come from above to fix weapons here, that sign outside is to make people think that it is a proper forge. Well, your sword not that badly damaged, but I can fix her with a bit of the holy metal here’
At this here opened a box and brought out a small chunk of white glowing metal.
‘High positive energy signature detected’ muttered R.V
‘Holy metal, not much left, but enough to fix your sword’ said the blacksmith.

After an hour, the blacksmith was finished.
‘Here you go, that’s going to be better than ever, and will be able to take more damage.’
‘Thanks a lot.’ Valion replied, dropping several gold coins into the mans hand and heading for the door.
‘Wait a moment, I have a proposition for you, if it isn’t that much trouble. Have you ever heard of Bogannais, the demon castle?’
At this Valion stopped and shuddered, as though he had just been doused with cold water.
‘Know it, I have seen it, though only from far away’ he replied to the black smith.
‘If you could you bring me back from it the diohen, the only metal on earth to be touched by a god, I would gladly make you something out of it, and there would be loads to spare, so I could carry on to fix angels weapons’ the blacksmith said.
‘Ok, you got yourself a deal, so long as I get to choose what I want my part of the metal to be made out of’
‘Deal, now you will need some more people to help you on your quest. The fortress is heavily guarded’ the blacksmith said.

The pale figure walked along the main street of Gren-Almadi using his broken spear as a staff. A short while ago, the blades were shattered by an angel in battle several days ago.

The man looked up at the building he was stood by, it was a blacksmith's. Entering, he was hit by a wave of heat. Sidling past the tall, winged being who was also in there, the figure came to the front and put his spear on the counter.
He leaned towards the blacksmith, "Can you repair this?"
The huge man turned from what he was doing and held up the metal shaft. "It will take some time, I haven't seen one of these weapons in a long time."
"It will be done in two days."
"Wait! The very best I can do-" the blacksmith cut off as he noticed the sword pointed at his neck. Gulping, he replied, "Two days."

Valion narrowed his eyes at the hooded figure and approached him, "You have no right to threaten this man like that!" He pulled the hood off.
Asidus looked back at Valion. "You!"
Valion stepped back, "Why have you followed me here?"
"I have done no such thing, I simply heard that this was the best blacksmith in the area. I don't want revenge for the destruction of my weapon."

The angel's bionic eye glowed. "If you don't wish to destroy me, then you can assist me."
Asidus smirked, "Why should I help you?"
Valion held his weapon, "I know you are looking for greater magic, so how does a piece of holy metal sound?"
The Jadran's eyes widened, "Blessed by gods."
"Exactly, all I ask is that you will assist me in retrieving it from the fortress of Bogannais."
"Will others help?" Asidus sheathed his sword.
Valion walked to the door, "I do not know yet, but we will see."
"I trust you.........for now. I believe I will join you, so long as I get my own share of the metal." Asidus pulled his hood back up and left the building, following Valion who was heading up the cobbled road.

BiC: Kyran seated himself across the table from the cloaked pair in the back room of a tavern named the Forester.
"So, this quest is to a demon castle, Bogannais you said? It'll be difficult and dangerous?"
"More than you would believe." One of the hooded figures replied.
Kyran leaned back in his chair and smiled. “You know, I’ve been looking for something like this for nearly a year now.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, and you say that there is this holy metal there? That we can have any kind of weapon we want made out of it?” Kyran closed his eyes and sighed. “I know exactly what to have done with it.”
“Then you’ll come with us?”
Kyran looked around the room, taking in the polished wood of the tables and chairs, the light of the lamps placed around the room lending a warm glow to the place.
“You know, if I go I won’t see anything like this again for a long time?” Kyran said.
“But you’ll come?”
“Oh I’ll come.” Kyran said. “Like I said, I’ve been looking for something like this for nearly a year. Where would I be if I didn’t come?”
One of the cloaked men nodded. “Be ready for when we leave.”

Bic:Twilight walked along the sidewalk, holding her broken sword in her hands. Rain poured from the sky and drenched Twilight. I knew going on that 'pumpkin' thing would break something she thought. Many people told her that the blacksmith in this town was the best. Some also said he could make the weapon unbreakable. A chill ran down her back. The cold air was freezing. Twilight saw the blacksmith sign and rushed in. A burst of heat was refreshing to her as she walked inside. Three others were standing in a circle muttering about something. The blacksmith stood by an anvil.

"Excuse me, I'm in need of a sword repair." Twilight handed him her broken sword. He chuckled at it.

"This will not take more than 15 minutes, miss" The blacksmith said, "It will cost 20 rupees." He started to work on her sword. Twilight got out her guns and sat down. I won't pay him, I'll kill him, then kill the other 3 for no witnesses. she thought. As soon as the blacksmith was done, he called her up.

"Miss, your sword is done" he said. He reached out his hand for his rupees. Twilight put the gun to his forehead and put her finger on the trigger.

"Put the gun down" said a voice. Twilight looked to the side to find a sword at her throat. She did as the voice said. The sword was held by a rather strange man who had a black overcoat and white hair. Twilight shoved money in the blacksmith's hands and took her sword. The man put the sword from her neck.

"You like to ruin peoples fun, don't you" Twilight said quietly. The man looked surprised.

"Fun?! You think destroying innocent peoples lives is fun?!" the man yelled.

"Well, yeah, is there a problem?" Twilight said even more quietly. She backed up a ways from the man. She then dashed for the door.

"Wait!" said another figure as she was a little bit from the door. She turned to see a hooded man.

"Will you assist us in something?" he said.

"Depends"She said. They told her about the plan.

"Well, okay, but I don't need anything, keep the metal." Twilight said.

"Be ready to leave" said the wite haired man said.

The group drew attention as they talked outside the blacksmiths, as everyone was racing about to their homes because of the downpour that had started.
‘We leave now. The blacksmith has provided food and blankets for the journey, and also a map. It’s a half a day trek to the castle.’ muttered Valion, pulling up the hood on his overcoat.
‘How many demons are we talking about in this castle, thousands?’ asked Kyran.
‘Three hundred’ Valion replied, seeing the look on the mans face. ‘Have you ever encountered a demon? The monsters of this world are nothing compared to them.’
‘What I want to know is how they got the metal in the first place’ Asidus asked
‘Bogannais’
‘What?’
‘Bogannais, the demon lord. Some demons were descended from disgraced angels, and so still carry some immunity to it. Bogannais is one of them. He moved the chunk of metal to his fortress.’
‘How would you know?’ asked twilight skeptically.
‘Angel and demon history 101’ Valion muttered.
‘Where is it located?’ twilight asked
‘Between those two mountains’ Valion said, nodding in the direction of the mountainous area to the north.
‘So what are standing round for lets gets going!’ shouted Kyran, eager to start.

They bid farewell to the blacksmith, and set off towards the mountains.
‘These packs are too heavy’ moaned twilight, shrugging her pack.
‘You carry the same as the rest of us, it’s only what you need, food and blankets.’ said Asidus.
‘I wonder what im going to have my part of the metal made into, maybe a sword or shield, or a…’
‘All we need to concentrate on now is getting the metal out of the castle’ Valion said, slightly hovering above the ground.
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning lit up the sky.
‘Well, I am tired of walking for today, lets set up camp’ Valion said.

OoC: Sorry this took so long. Anyway, here it is.
BiC:“Okay, the terrain is pretty open, but there will be enough cover to hide our approach.” Kyran said. “We can be arriving at dawn, if that’s a better time than any other.”
He shivered inwardly, remembering the tales the others had told him of the demon who owned the castle. “I’ll look for a way in once we’re there, see what the options are.”
The other two men in the group nodded, but the girl just sighed. “When do I get to kill something?”
“When they find us.” One of the two men said. He wore a long cloak with the hood pulled back, hiding his body but showing his face. Half of it was covered by his long white hair, the other half was nearly as hard as Kyran’s own face.
“Then let’s get going!” She snarled impatiently.
Kyran looked to the white haired man. “Your call.”
“Let’s move.”
Kyran nodded and began to lead the group through the hills by the light of the setting sun, strange reds and pinks lighting the sky.
“The hills will hide us for now.” Kyran said. “Later we will need to move through a forest. Don’t speak except in whispers once we get to it.”
The journey was almost silent, filled with only the sound of the night as they travelled through the hills. Then they reached the forest.
“Try to move quietly.” He whispered excitedly.
He quickly found a path through the woods, examining it as they used it to move towards their goal. Then he saw … something.
“Wait.” He whispered, holding up his hand.
At that instant five demons charged at them from out of the forest, their bodies twisted beyond any recognition of what they had once been.
An instant later he heard a sound like a twin thunderclap, only louder, watching as one of the demons was blasted back by the impact.
Puzzled he called his magic to him as the girl began to laugh, then the demon stood, and the laughter died in a strangled cry of dismay. Two holes had been blasted into its chest, but it seemed not to notice.
Kyran drove a spike of earth and air magic into one of the creature’s head with all the strength he had, and almost smiled when it exploded, and the demon dropped to the ground.
“Die damn you! Die!” The girl screamed as she fired again, this time both shots blasting into its head. This time it didn’t get up.
Two more went down to a flare of white light from the white haired man, as if it were a blast of fire, their bodies coming apart from the blast.
The last turned to flee, but Kyran formed a rope of air and tripped it, while the last member of the group, still in his black robe, rammed his spear though the demons head, killing it.
“We haven’t introduced ourselves, have we?” Kyran smiled, suddenly realising that in their rush they didn’t know each others names. “I’m Kyran Knight.”
“Asidus.” The cloaked man replied.
“Twilight.” The girl smiled as she eyed her kill.
“Valion.” The white haired man replied.
Kyran smiled. “Asidus, Twilight, Valion and me. Let’s do this.”

Is anyone going to post, I am dying of anticipation

The castle of Bogannais leered at the party as they reached the peak of the small mountain in front of it. The hive of spires, archways, and domes were arranged beneath a most unnerving sight. A collosal, black tower hovered silently in the air, some hundred feet above the castle.

Valion's electronic eye zoomed into the castle gates, they were heavily guarded. "It seems that we need another route into the stronghold."
Kyran turned away from the castle, "The underground of this area is a honeycomb of caves and tunnels. They may not be as well guarded as the rest, I believe there is an entrance to the network a half-a-mile east of here."

Ooc: Since Chari hasn’t bothered to post in a while, I will post.

Bic: After another half an hour of walking, the group finally reached the entrance to the tunnels.

‘Researching….. Memory banks have located a map that was made of this area in 1947, though there may be some slight changes to it, feeding information directly into left eye’ said R.V, and in less than a second a projection of the tunnels was shining out of Valion’s eye. His companions looked at it in amazement.

‘Is this map accurate?’ asked Asidus, studying the map.

‘It should be, though there may be some slight alterations’ Valion replied.

‘As soon as we enter deep enough, I can do a visual scan to see if there are any more… demons’ R.V said, obviously not accustomed to saying the word demons.

The group entered the caves, looking at the map to show them the way. After 30 minutes and 4 wrong details on the map, the group were starting to get bored.

‘I hate walking’ Twilight moaned ‘That stupid map is wrong’

’Warning, figure approaching from ahead’ said R.V suddenly, and the group moved into the shadows on the left. Valion noticed that the girl was getting ready to attack.

‘The loudest way isn’t always the best’ he said to her, and as the demon walked past, built up some holy energy in his right hand, and brought it down on the demons head, melting it. The demon didn’t even make a sound as his headless corpse hit the floor.

‘Show off’ Twilight muttered, putting her guns back in their holsters.

After another 5 minutes the group reached the doors that lead into the castle, only to find out that it was also guarded.

‘It won’t be guarded he says’ Asidus muttered.

‘How was I to know?’ replied Kyran.

‘What now?’ asked Asidus.

‘As I said earlier, the loudest way isn’t always the best’ Valion replied.

‘R.V, move into Evasion mode, work at 75%’ Valion muttered to himself. There was a sudden click that the group heard and Valion stood up, and started walking towards the demons. They sensed his presence immediately, and went to attack him. At the last moment, Valion side stepped, and brought out his sword, decapitating one of them. Suddenly he felt a fist collide with his head, and was knocked to the floor. He turned over to see that the other demon was raising his weapon to kill him. But just as he was about to, the tip of a sword appeared through his skull. He fell backwards, revealing Twilight stood behind him, holding her sword in front of her.

"Down!" Kyran yelled, using his magic to throw a foot wide ball of compressed air towards the demons.

The others dropped to the floor, but the de4mons wee caught by the spell. The spell knocked them off their feet, buying the group a little extra time.

Valion used that time to kill three more of them, while Twilight and Asidus killed a pair between them while Kyran recovered from using the spell.

Kyran gathered himself and his magic, using it to drive a spike of earth and air into two the demons, slamming them home into their skulls with all the force which he dared.

The remaining three died while Kyran forced his body to keep going, his breathing even and steady. None of the gruards had been able to raise the alarm, killed within moments of realising there was a threat.

Valion checked the bodies, making sure that they really were dead, before they continnued on into the heart of the castle.

Twilight kicked one of the ones she had killed on the way past, a saticfied smile on her face as she went through the door, closing it gentally behind her.

A shadow detached its self from the wall and began to walk towards the door. "They may yet prove worthy of killing myself." The shadow said, amusment thick in its voice. "The white haired one must be some kind of angel to kill these things so well. it has been some time since I killed an angel."

The shadow melted into the surrounding shadows. "But not yet."

First I shall find out about them. Watch them. Learn their strengths. Their weaknesses. I will learn how to kill them. Its sense of amusement grew stronger. And then they shall die.

The group continued through an open steel gate and into a large, circular room.
Twilight: "There are no doors."
Asidus: "They are consealed, we must locate them before more demons find us."
Valion: "Too late. They are here."

Two enormous, three-headed blue creatures shoved their way through a wall and into the hall. Asidus, sick and tired of fighting, lazily threw a sword at one of the demon's heads and it instantly burst.

Twilight got out her sword and burst another head. She burst the last of one beast. Valion simply destroyed the other by holy magic. Then the headless one. Twilight was dissapointed she couldn't kill one beast, but was satisfyed to eye dead bodies. She put her sword away then got out her guns. Just out of fun she shot one of the dead bodies. Then she stopped to reload her guns.

"Let us progress" Valion said. He lead the group down further into the castle.

The door was well hidden, its looked like it was the very corner of the room, and took 2 minutes to find. A few more demons had appeared but had been dispatched quickly and efficiently by Twilight and Asidus, while Valion and Kyran had searched for the door.

‘We move in deeper’ Valion said, at last finding the door. They walked through the door, and down a sloping path, the door closing behind them. They walked in silence for a few minutes, down the gradually sloping hallway. After a while the group came to another hall, with the door standing directly in front of them. But this one was locked securely, with an intricate lock, and the only way to open it was to solve the riddle that was written on the doors.

‘They only way forward are up and down for those who seek the holy ore or Bogannais’s crown’ Valion read aloud.

’Scanning…. answer is one way leads to the ore, the other the throne room of Bogannais, but the ceiling is composed of solid rock, which is 1 meter thick, and the floor is the same’

‘Hold on, I think I know what it means’ Kyran said, running headfirst into one of the doors and jumping at it. If the door had been real he would have broke his neck, but amazingly he passed through the doors as if they were just an illusion.

‘That’s using your head’ Valion muttered, watching as Kyran jumped back through headfirst.

‘That’s the answer, for one we jump through head first and the other we jump through feet first.’ Kyran said.

‘But which ones which?’ Asidus said.

‘Don’t know, just…guess’ Twilight said.

‘What did the one you jumped through look like’ Valion asked Kyran.

‘It was another hall that was sloping down’

‘That’s probably the one’ Twilight said.

‘Well, everyone lets go and try to find that ore’ Kyran said, once again jumping through the door headfirst.

By the time the shadow had managed to get to the second doors, he just saw Valion about to jump headfirst through the doors. But as he did, Valion looked straight at it before he disappeared through the door, giving the shadow an agonizing pain in his brain for the few moments they had eye contact.

‘He will die by my hands’ the shadow muttered to himself, rubbing his head with his hand.

‘That is, if Bogannais doesn’t kill them all first.’

The long slopped corridor led down, twisting and turning its way to a huge bronze door, easily twelve feet high.

What ever needs a door this large, Kyran thought. I don’t want to find it.

“Through the door!” Valion said. “I can feel it.”

Kyran nodded as he checked the door for locks. “Good news and bad news. Good news is that I can unlock the locks that I can reach. Bad news is that there’s one at the top. Any ideas?”

“Stand on my shoulders. Asidus said. “That should be high enough.”

“We’ll cover you.” Valion said. “Right?”

Twilight nodded. “Right.”

Kyran gathered a small amount of power as Asidus helped him to clime to his shoulders. Kyran stretched out his hand, touching the lock as he reached out with his magic, shaping the air so that it would function as a key. The lock clicked open.

The second and third locks followed, the four of them opening the door and beginning to search inside.

Valion closed his eyes and followed his senses towards the metal. He opened his eyes when he sensed that he was nearly on top of the metal and looked down.

“I’ve found it.” He called, turning. Just in time to see something fill the doorway

The demon was twelve feet tall, barley able to fit under the doorway without having to bend over and just as wide as any two of the people that had penetrated this far into the castle.

Its skin was blood red, bone horns rose from its skull, and bone spikes descended from each elbow. The beast’s aura of corruption made Kyran fell sick, its unholy power burning through his senses.

Valion sent a burst of holy power at the monstrous creature, his magic cutting through the air, striking the demon’s chest.

When nothing happened the demon laughed. “Your power cannot hurt me, fallen one. I can withstand holy metal, and I can withstand your power.”

Twilight opened up with her pistols, her shots punching into the demon, but with no effect. Asidus and Kyran could only watch as it reached out to blast Valion with demon magic, while Valion raised his other hand, lightning erupting from its fingertips, slamming into the demons outstretched hand knocking it away, spoiling its aim. The bolt of darkness that had been aimed for Valion flew straight at Kyran.

Kyran’s subconscious surrendered, giving Kyran access to his full power, unlocking the strength that came when his life was threatened.

The demon smiled as the darkness enveloped Kyran, certain that one of those that dared to enter his castle had fallen.

Then Kyran walked out of the settling dust, his eyes glowing with power, a smile on his face.

As the demon’s attention left him Valion rose into the air, his sword raised.. Valion drove his holy sword into the demon’s head, his blow reinforced by Kyran’s magic, the air it’s self, giving more power to the killing blow.

The blow tore through its eye, then the brain, then the skull at the back, the tip of the blade visible out the other side of the demon skull.

Valion felt the shock of the blow through his entire body, knowing that without Kyran’s help the blow would have failed. But it had worked.

The demon Bogannais, Lord of the castle, fell to the floor, dead.

The sound of one person clapping seemed to fill the room as a shadow detached from the fall. “Well done.” It said. “Few could have done that better.”

Somehow it seemed to be a shadow, even though it stood in light. “Now I kill you.”

A bolt of blue fire launched from its shadowy hands, the blast heading straight for Asidus…
