Recruiting station. (2 on 1)
OOC: The very little known oblivion alliance has started to thin out. Half of the members of the alliance have fallen into inactivity, time for recruiting! Two weak to moderate character ought to do. Remember that Gorin will recruit them to join the alliance at the end if he deems them worthy.
Also, remember that Gorin isn't a brand new character. He's powerful enough to take on three or four moderately powered characters, so don't have your character kicking his ass up and down the block. BIC: The echo looked around the bar. He was on his way to the foreign continent, where his army still existed. Although he was in a new body, the former dark god retained 30% of his memories. Most of those memories were about the Dome and his allies. It was then that Gorin remembered something. "My allies will no longer recognize me. I'm officially dead, and some random stranger going up to them and telling them he's Gorin won't exactly make them feel friendly to that person." he thought. The echo's thoughts were interupted by the sounds of arguing. "Why do I keep stopping at bars to think?" he thought to himself. The being born of the Echo Side stood up to leave when he heard something. Turning, he saw two people easily beating the unruly mob that usually builds up in bars. "Hmmm..." thought the echo. "You two meet me outside!" he called over to the people. Without giving them a chance to even turn their heads, Gorin left to wait for them outside. OOC: One other thing. Don't even think about posting in this thread unless you are a fairly active member. We've already lost a little over half the alliance due to inactivity.

Re: Recruiting station. (2 on 1)
OoC: I'm a very active BA-er, mostly because I hardly have a life. *Sigh* I hope I get in...
BiC: "What did you call me?" Latio shouted at a group of drunks. This wasn't like him. "Ye heard us." "I'll kill you all!" "Loner!" all the drunken men shouted as they threw empty beer bottles at the foxfolk. They had horrible aim, so Latio decided they wern't any harm, but he'd beat them so short of their lives, they'd hope they'd die. The foxfolk drew his rapier, creating small gusts of wind as he slashed at the drunks. They lost balence and fell, and Latio poked an eye out here and there, or sliced a scar down their faces, and he suddenly felt someone was watching him, in the shadows of the tavern. He also heard a similar group of drunks being beat by another figure. I wonder who's here with me. OoC: Sorry, I just can't see Latio senselessly killing a bunch of drunks, so it's kinda bad. Edit: I see you're using the sprite I made you, could you give credit? |

OOC: Great, now to wait for somebody else. I normally don't make posts like this, as it makes me seem impatient, but I'm just keeping the thread from dieing before the battle even starts.

Re: Recruiting station. (2 on 1)
OoC: Still one of my first battles. What is the "Oblivion Alliance" about?
Jodd sat at a booth, in a dark corner of the bar. He didn't have any money, and was unable to get himself a drink, but he had a hip-flask of ale with him. He closed his eyes, planning his next move. He could go east, to a small town and try and get a job to get some money, or north, to a large metropolis. He was probably better off going east. Crowds and noise unsettled him. His thought was interrupted, as a group of drunks started throwing bottles at someone. He smiled slightly, as the fox-folk starting beating them with his rapier. Jodd watched, as the fox gave mercy to the poor drunks, and the group ran from the rapier-wielding fox. Some of the more wounded ones had left, probably to get treated for their nasty injuries. "Hey mate! Buy us a drink, would ya?" Another drunk had sat himself beside Jodd. "I don't have any money. And even if I did, I wouldn't buy you one. You've had quite enough." Jodd soon realized that the man wasn't asking for a drink, but demanding one. "Hey Cliff! This kid's depriving me of a drink! What do we do to people like that? "Why, we MAKE 'em buy us a drink!" The first man tried to make a grab at Jodd's pockets, but her stood up from the table, out of the man's reach. "C'mon! Give us a couple a coins!" The man staggered upright, and made another grab at Jodd. This time, Jodd gave him a quick hit to the back of the head, knocking him out. "Hey, that little blaggard's killed poor Jerus! Git him!" Four men followed Cliff, thedrunken man's friend, over to Jodd. Jodd's heart jumped, as he realized, drunk as the were, he may not be able to beat them with out magic. He raised his staff in front of him. "Haha! Lookout lads, he's gonna turn us all into toads!" The men roared with laughter, while Jodd silently put a magical sphere around himself. One of the men tried to punch him, but his hand was deflected by the faint blue orb. "OW! He done broke me hand! Owowow! You little..." The man rushed at him, and Jodd dropped the magical shield and sidestepped to the left, leaving the man to crash into a table. He stunned Cliff with a quick bolt of lightning, strong enough to sober him up. The other two men backed away, no longer willing to fight. Jodd bent, checking the two unconcious men, and recovering his breath.

Re: Recruiting station. (2 on 1)
OOC: Errr, I told somebody else they could join as the second combatant. Oh well, first come first served. To BB_11, I'll be sure to reserve a spot for you in the next recruiting station.
To Jodd: The Oblivion Alliance is like a clan in a way. You can have the Oblivion Alliance banner in your sig, and you are able to join any battles that say "Oblivion Alliance" in the title. Non-Oblivion Alliance members aren't able to join those battles. Also, your character will have a group of powerful allies that can aid them in team battles if you PM the character's owner. BIC: Latio was the first one to come outside after Gorin called. He could feel the dry and parched air, as well as the smell of rotting flesh. It seemed that two men had grown angered when Gorin called out to Latio and Jodd, as they were trying to get over a hangover. They had followed Gorin outside and intended to beat him. The echo snapped the first one's neck, and grabbed the fleeing one by the back of the head. It was then that he noticed Latio. "I'll let you live, with a warning of course." whispered Gorin into the man's ear. Jodd came out second, standing on the porch of the bar. Gorin looked the two men over. "Hmmm... They can fight slightly well, and listen better than some other people I know." thought the echo. He declared his intentions to the two men. "We will fight. I don't expect you to beat me, but I promise I won't kill either of you. If you do well enough then you will be admitted to join the Oblivion Alliance." he said. Jodd was puzzled as to what this "Oblivon Alliance" was, but Latio had heard of them already. Without warning Gorin created a halberd and attacked.

Re: Recruiting station. (2 on 1)
Jodd sidestepped the vertical swipe, and so did Latio. The blue mage shot a weak lightning spell from the blue orb at the end of his staff, and Gorin made a transperent red bubble around himself. It reflected the lightning bolt, which Jodd absorbed back into the orb. "Whoa, he's good!"
Meanwhile, Latio was sneaking behide Gorin, the former dark god, and built up some wind in his rapier. He slashed at Gorin, but suddenly, Latio felt as if something, or someone, was tearing into his mind. It was very quick, but enough to distract Latio from his sneak attack. His horizontal slash was blocked by an exact copy of his own rapier, absorbing the wind energy, and blowing it straight back at the foxfolk. He flew through the air, smashing into a nearby house, breaking through it's wooden wall and sending the family inside fleeing away from the battle. The rapier was sent flying through the air by Gorin's counterstrike and peirced five inches into the cornerstones of the ruined house. Latio went to retrieve it, but couldn't pull it out! "Guess it's time for your turn, Horizon Scar." he said as he drew the massive blade. |

Re: Recruiting station. (2 on 1)
Gorin cracked his neck. "Hmm, almost hit me." he murmered. These days it was considered rare for any warrior besides the ultimates to even come close to harming the echo. Gorin smiled. "This is going to be interesting." he said.
Jodd started to focus the energy of his staff as Gorin stalked towards Latio. The foxfolk could tell that Gorin was near, despite his blindness. He swung the Horizon Scar towards Gorin. The echo deflected the attack with his halberd, nearly knocking the weapon out of Latio's hands. Before Gorin could countarattack, he was struck in the back. Jodd had fired an electrical blast at the echo, which hit its mark. The electrical attack had struck Gorin just under his shoulders. As the electricity shocked the echo, Latio could tell something wasn't quite right. Gorin smiled. "Thanks for the electricity." laughed Gorin. The electricity stopped flowing through his flesh and blood. The echo lifted up his halberd for Jodd to see. The electricity had been focused into the halberd by Gorin. OOC: Interesting fact that Latio might like. Darges, from "It rains diamonds", is Gorin's uncle.

Re: Recruiting station. (2 on 1)
Jodd stood shocked. Lightning magic didn't look like a good way to go, and Jodd wasn't very good at physical fighting. Jodd threw up a magical barrier, it might hold off some of the weaker attacks and deflections. He wondered if he could hold one around his ally for any length of time. Worth a try... He concentrated, and managed to put a weak blue sphere around Latio. The added concentration of holding two barriers distracted him, and he didn't notice Gorin striding towards him, halberd raised...

Re: Recruiting station. (2 on 1)
Jodd didn't notice the echo's impending attack, but Latio was able to sense it. The foxfolk hurled the Horizon Scar at Gorin. The former dark god was struck in the shoulder by the blade of the weapon, and cursed. "I can't believe I fell for that." he said to himself.
Jodd had noticed by now, and ran to get the Horizon Scar for Latio. Without the weapon, Latio was defenseless. Much to Latio's surprise, Gorin scanned his mind rather than attacking him. The echo mulled over Latio's thoughts and memories for a few seconds before pulling his mental claw out of Latio's mind. Jodd brought the Horizon Scar over to Latio, and handed it to the blind foxfolk with a little difficulty. Once Latio was armed again, the battle continued.

Re: Recruiting station. (2 on 1)
OoC: Damn, I'm all messed up, we're disscussing Latio's memories, an upcoming battle, and Gorin's family. In this battle I'm fighting Gorin, right?
BiC: "Thank you, mage." Latio said after recieving his blade from Jodd. "My name's Jodd, and if we're getting into this thing, you'll have to remember it." "Sure thing." Latio said as he ran towards Gorin. Lightning, is lightning a tempest element? he thought as he planned his next tactic. "Hey, guy with the mind thing, what's your name?" "My name is Gorin." "Well, Gorin, we're not just going to earn our place in your club, we're going to beat you, as well!" "I very highly doubt that." Gorin replied. Latio charged at the echo, and slashed vertically. Gorin easily dodged the strike, his back turned to the ruined house. The foxfolk just kept pressing the attack, pushing the echo farther towards the house, until his back was against the stone pillar with the Tempest Edge embedded in it. Latio pinned Gorin to the wall with the flat of his blade, making it impossible for Gorin to move his arms. The skilled fox then smashed the rapier out of the pillar, and pierced Gorin to the stone support. "Jodd! Cast your most powerful lightning spell on my rapier!" "But why?" "Just do it!" Jodd unleashed a strong lightning spell on the thin, decorative sword and it glowed light blue, absorbing the spell, and adding to it's power. "Shoot more!" "But I'll run out of power!" "It doesn't matter, once this is done, we win!" the foxfolk ordered. The blue made shot many bolts of lightning at the gleaming blade, until it was white-hot with power. Latio ran towards Jodd, who had just enough energy to make one last shield. "This better work, Soferithis!" OoC: Man, that was fun! |

Re: Recruiting station. (2 on 1)
Latio was horrified to find out that he had overdone it slightly. Not only was the ruined house completely incinerated, but the nearby bar had been blown up as well. He sighed. "I guess we won't be getting into that club if the leader is dead." he said.
"What are you talking about?" said a voice from under some burning rubble. The debris was thrown aside as Gorin freed himself from the rubble. His body was smoking as if it were on fire, yet no fire could be seen. Latio's rapier was still lodged in Gorin's shoulder. "I'll have to admit, that was an amazing attack!" laughed the echo. He pulled Latio's rapier out of his shoulder and handed it to the foxfolk. Jodd was prepared to fight more, but Latio stopped him. "I think we've made our point." he said. Gorin nodded. "Yep, I'd be glad if you could join the Oblivion Alliance Latio." Latio was surprised for a moment. "Why me? It was Jodd's magic that caused that explosion." Gorin shook his head, smiling. "Actually, it was your advice that caused the explosion. Your also not bad of a fighter." Jodd stepped forwards. "So am I in?" Gorin shook his head. "You are a powerful mage, but you aren't powerful enough to compare to the enemies the alliance has to fight daily. Maybe in a few years if you're more powerful." Jodd had a somber look on his face. Gorin chuckled and stepped forwards. "Don't worry, we'll still help you if you ever need any. You just can't follow us around." Gorin took Latio by the shoulder and started to walk towards any bar that he could find. The nearest one was demolished, so they didn't want to go to that one. OOC: Sorry Jodd. Latio Scaptur made better posts, and it's more likely that Gorin would ally himself with somebody who is an experianced fighter. The youngest member of the alliance, haven't checked Latio's age yet, is Gorin himself. He's twenty years old, less than a year if your just counting by his new body. Congratulations Latio, you now have the right to wear the Oblivion Alliance mini sig in your sig, as well as join any battles with "Oblivion Alliance" in the title. I'll send you the Oblivion Alliance mini sig and banner.
