Battle in the Sky (3 people)

OoC: This is the first battle I've hosted so bear with me, please. I'll be using Kai, link is in the siggy.

BiC:

With the large amount of spare time Kai had now aquired, there was nothing more for her to do than to walk around the building known as the Dome. This is so boring..., she sighed. The long corridors appeared to go on forever. Finally, fed up with just walking, the female entered into the first door on her right.

A beautiful blue sky filled her sight with small, fluffy cloudy moving lazily across the blueness. It was a peaceful sight, until Kai realized that the clouds were too close. Looking down, she noticed that she was standing on a cloud. At first, the dragoon panicked, but the cloud obviously held her weight. This is kind of cool. She walked around the fluffy platform, which was hardly big enough to hold two people. Peering over the side, she saw a green field far below. Kai had flown through clouds before, which are wet and cold, but had never stood on one. Maybe I'll waste some time here, she decided.

But she didn't realize that she wasn't the only person in this sky...

OoC: Alrighty, can I have two more people to join this battle?

OoC: Alrighty, this'll be my first battle in the BA, so please go a little easy on me.

Bic:
Lyra, having nothing else to do, decided to explore around the Dome some more. It’s not like I’ve got anything better to do, she thought as she wandered around the empty halls, her foot steps echoing throughout them. Lyra picked out a door and muttered to herself, “Let’s see where this door leads me to.”

She opened the door and found herself looking right at the sky. She stepped out from the Dome, and immediately sensed something strange about the ground that she was standing on. Looking down, she found herself on a white, fluffy surface. Almost like a cloud, Lyra thought, before pushing that thought aside. People can’t stand on clouds. It’s impossible! Lyra then noticed that the ground seemed to just end. Walking over to the edge, she looked down and saw green, and assumed it was a field that was below her. It looked far away. Very far away. “I sure hope I don’t fall,” she muttered as she walked away from it. “I guess I am on a cloud,” she said to no one specifically.

“How long did it take you to come to that conclusion?” a voice called out.

Lyra spun around. “Who’s there?” She asked, unsheathing her sword.

OoC: Let the fun begin, I guess.

OoC: Can I reserve, Lady Grace? I'm about to make a new character, and I'm almost done typing, I'll delete my post if it doesn't get accepted.

Edit: Pfffft, forgot about character history, I'll use Latio instead.

BiC: "AHHHHHHHHH!" Latio had been drafted for the Dome Skydiving Club to serve his unserved detention. "Look out below!!!" he shouted as the air flew past him at 200 kilometers per hour. He suddenly stopped, with a suprisingly soft landing, followed by a shove from underneath him.

"Ugh, get off me!" A girlish voice yelled from under the young foxfolk, who ws disguised within a grey robe thatv had a big hood to disguise his long snout. "I said get off me!"

"Oh, sorry." the polite foxfolk leaped off the brown-clad girl. He then immediately noticed the scent of pine that his friend, Kai Chosen, carried with her. He reached out to the girl he crushed, and offered to help her up.

"I don't need your help, whoever you are!"

OoC: I was looking forward to me your new fighter, Latio. Oh well. And don't worry, Rising Light, we'll go easy. If you have any questions, just ask.

BiC:

"Who's there?" the small female asked. Her medium-sized sword was drawn and ready for battle.

Kai descended in front of the girl, "Don't worry, I'm not here to fight. The name's Kai."

The girl's eyes widened at the spectacle of Kai but her sword lowered, "I'm Lyra."

"Nice to meet you. I take it your a student at the Dome, too," the dragoon said in a friendly voice.

"Yeah, I..." but Lyra was interupted by the sound of someone yelling.

"AHHHHHHHHH! Look out below!!!" a cry came. The shouter's voice was very familiar to Kai. Suddenly, the form of Latio Scaptur came down and crashed right onto Lyra.

"Ugh, get off me! I said get off me!," she shouted at the foxfolk.

Latio rolled off the girl and offered his hand, "Oh, sorry."

"I don't need your help, whoever you are!"

The fox's eyes narrowed, "I didn't mean to fall on you." Latio wasn't about to put up with rudeness when he apologized.

Kai, however, was laughing her head off. "Wow, that's an interesting way to met girls, Latio. Glad you didn't try that on me. What were you doing, anyway?"

He scowled at the dragoon's sense of humor, "I had to join the Dome Skydiving Club to make up for that dumb detention." That sobered Kai a bit, that battle was all to fresh in her memory.

"Um, can I be included in this conversation," Lyra injected.

"No one asked you," was Latio's reply.

The Hylian's sword rose in defiance, "You shouldn't be so rude!"

The male unsheathed the Horizon Scar, his scimitar, and pointed it at her. "You shouldn't get in my way!" Kai just looked at the two fighters who were about to go at each other's throats. Another battle? I thought maybe I could get some peace and quiet. Well, it will pass the time. She studied Lyra and then Latio, But who should I help? Latio is my friend but that would be unfair for Lyra, she looks a tad shaky. Maybe I'll stay out for a little bit.

OoC: Okay, just a little description. The cloud you two are on is large enough just to hold you two but there are other clouds around, so you guys can jump from cloud to cloud if you want.

OoC: So, like a Lizalfos battle in OoT? YAY! I gotta go to bed though...

Lyra had her sword ready for battle when a female voice replied, “Don’t worry, I’m not here to fight. The name’s Kai.”

Lyra looked at the owner of the voice and saw herself looking at a…Lyra was not quite just what this Kai was. She had vivid violet eyes that Lyra notice right away. She had never seen eyes like those before-they didn’t seem human to her. Lyra had the feeling this person was speaking the truth, so she lowered her sword and said, “I’m Lyra.”

Kai smiled and said in a friendly voice, “Nice to meet you. I take it your a student at the Dome, too,”

Lyra nodded. “Yeah, I…” she began to say, before she was interrupted by the sound of yelling of someone yelling. The voice seemed to come from above her. She was about to look up when someone crashed into her. Lyra felt her anger rising, and immediately yelled, “Ugh get off of me!” When the person didn’t get up right away, she yelled louder, “ I said get off me!”

The person got off of her. “Oh, sorry,” he said as he offered a hand.

Lyra pushed the hand aside. “I don't need your help, whoever you are!" she replied as she got up on her own.

Lyra looked at the figure who had landed on her, and found herself looking at a fox-like creature. He was silver, and he didn’t look too happy to her response. His eyes narrowed as he said, “I didn’t mean to fall on you.” He then turned to Kai, and they began talking.

Lyra, eavesdropping, discovered the fox’s name was Latio. They were talking about how he had to join a sky diving team because of a detention, or something like than. Not one to be left out of a conversation, Lyra butted in by asking (not too politely), “Um, can I be included in this conversation?”

“No one asked you,” Latio replied.

Lyra, seeing this as a challenge, raised her sword. “You shouldn’t be so rude!” she growled, preparing for a fight.

The fox replied to this by pulling out his own sword, a scimitar with a silver blade and a gold handle. “You shouldn't get in my way!"

Lyra wondered if she should just back out of the battle now. Was it really necessary to fight? No’ she thought, I can’t show any weakness! But he seems like a good fighter. And indeed, he looked like a much more experienced fighter than herself. Lyra stood there for a moment, unsure of what to do, until she swung her sword at him. He easily blocked the attack, and then attacked back at her. She ducked, Latio's sword nearly cutting the hair on the top of her head. Lyra rolled away from him, trying to think of a plan.

Lyra looked around for a bigger cloud to take this on, since the current cloud was not big enough for her liking. Lyra resisted looking down as she scanned the sky for a larger cloud. She jumped to a neighboring cloud, and instantly wished she had the talent for a bow and arrow. I sure could use that right now, she thought as she gripped her sword.

She felt someone else jump on the cloud, and turned around to find the fox standing right next to her. She looked at him and immediately noticed his white, pupil less eyes. She immediately realized what this meant: he was blind. She swung her sword at him, and found he blocked it with ease. “Is that really all that you’ve got?” He smirked.

Lyra felt her face redden in rage. “Why you…” She stabbed at him, and he blocked every one of them. Well, his blindness doesn’t affect his skills, she thought. Crap. I’m in a bit of trouble now.

OoC: Just a hint, Rising Light: It is very common to use italic writing for thinking.

BiC: Ha! Unless she thinks of something else, she'll never hit me! Latio thought as he parried and blocked Lyra's wild blows. "Is that your best shot!?" He said as the female tried to cut through his demonhide.

"Mabey, mabey not!" the beauty said as she finally hit the skillful foxfolk on the leg. He winced and hacked away at the much smaller figure. The quick fox backflipped and, by luck, landed on the original platform. Lyra jumped up and slashed at Latio, who raised his sword, blocking the gravity-backed short sword with the flat of the huge scimitar.

"Whoa!" Latio yelled as he lost balance from the blow. He fell backwards, off the small cloud, droping his sword as he scrambled to get hold of the magic platform. The blind foxfolk failed. "Kai! Help me!" he yelled as he fell to his certain death

"Use the parachute!" the purple-winged dragoon yelled back.

"What's a parachute?!"

Kai sighed as she dove down to rescue the falling figure...

OoC: Suspense!!

Edit: You made your character before June, and this is your first battle?! Wierd...

OoC: Yeah, suspense. To let Latio die or save him. What should I do...? Also, I think Rising Light only made her char in October, that's what her post is dated anyway.

BiC:

Kai dove to the falling figure of Latio. Grabbing his outstreched hand, she opened her wings to stop their decent. For a second, the dragoon thought that the rush of air that hit her wings would tear them off it was strong. However, she managed to stop in the air and glide over to another cloud platform to drop off the fox. Kai settled on it too and rolled her wings much like a person would roll their arms after lifting something heavy.

Latio fell on his knees when he was put down. "T, thanks," he said shakily.

"You were skydiving and you don't know what a parachute is?!" she asked him. He replied with a head shake. Kai sighed again, "It's that heavy pack you're wearing on your back. You pull a string and the parachute comes out, slowing you down when you fall."

"Oh," Latio said simply and felt for the string that releases it.

Suddenly, Lyra hopped up to the cloud beside them. A hint of guilt showed on her face, "I didn't mean to knock you over." Her red hair had frizzled out of her ponytail a bit.

The foxfolk stood up, "Your gonna get it for that."

The Hylian's face then turned a bright pink, "Hey! I said I was sorry!"

Latio leaped to her fluffy platform. I wonder how he can tell were the clouds without seeing them?, Kai questioned. The clash of metal soon hit her ears as she saw the two fighters going at it again. The dragoon admired the skill of Lyra. Latio was a tricky opponent yet she was holding her own. She's a tribute to her race. Then again, so is Latio.

OoC: Sorry about the wait! I had a lot of school work. And I edited my posts so all my thoughts were in italics. Also-While I did join in June, I didn't create a BA character until about a month ago. And I haven't done any battles until now because I wanted some experience in the Battle School before actually fighting.

BiC:
Lyra attacked Latio with her sword, and he blocked them all. “Is that your best shot?” he asked mockingly as Lyra tried to hit him with her sword.

Lyra looked for an opening to attack at. She saw his leg was wide open and smiled. “Maybe, maybe not!” She replied as she swung at his leg. The sword hit it’s target, and Latio winced. He attacked the small Hylian, and she blocked his attacks. Her arms were growing tired from the consistent blocking, but that was all she could do at the moment without getting hit. The foxfolk then did a back flip and landed on the original cloud. Lyra jumped after him, swinging her sword in midair. Latio blocked the blow with the side of his scimitar. The attack, stronger from the extra momentum, made him loose balance, and he fell off the cloud.

Lyra cursed as she raced over to the edge of the cloud. Latio was calling out to Kai to help him. How can she help him? she thought. She turned to Kia, and saw that underneath the cape that she wore were wings. “Wow,” Lyra muttered as Kai went to rescue Latio. Lyra watched anxiously, hoping that Kai would be able to save Latio. I certainly don’t want to be known as a murderer around here. She was relieved to see Kai catch the foxfolk, and raced over to the cloud next to the one that Kai and Latio were on.

Feeling guilty about what had happened, Lyra said to Latio, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to knock you over!” She pushed away some stray hairs that had fallen out of her pony tail.

As the foxfolk stood up, he replied, “You’re gonna pay for that!”

Lyra felt her face flush. “Hey! I said I was sorry!”

Latio jumped over to the cloud that Lyra was standing on, and they fought again. Lyra blocked Latio’s blows, waiting for the right opportunity to strike. Lyra focused on the fight, tuning out everything around her. Lyra felt beads of sweat forming on her fore head, wiped at it with her left hand quickly. However, as she did this, Latio struck her leg, much like what Lyra had done to him.

Lyra winced, and swung angrily at him. He dodged the blow, and circled around Lyra. She spun around quickly, and was nearly hit by his sword. Lyra blocked the attack, but the force of it caused her to stumble. She fell to the ground, her hair hanging off the edge of the cloud. Talk about close. Lyra got up, as fast as she could, and jumped to a nearby cloud.

OoC: In my third post, Latio droped Horizon Scar off the cloud when he fell, so he doesn't have it now.

BiC: "Now, let's try this again, need a hand?" Latio said as he kicked the woman's shortsword off the edge of the solid cloud. "Or are you going to fight me some more?"

The Hylian seemed to reach out for Latio's hand, then jumped up and tackled the foxfolk down to the fluffy 'ground.' She then stood up and started kicking at the knocked down figure, who rolled around her and kicked her in the back. Lyra heard a crack, and fell to her knees.

OoC: Sorry it's short, it's friday night and all my anime shows are on.

OoC: Ooo, what show do you watch? And don't worry about the wait, Rising Light. Just as long as it doesn't take you more than a week.

BiC:

Kai looked as the fighters began to fist fight. Or rather, Lyra started literally kicking the crud out of Latio. The foxfolk then countered with a kick of his own that toppled the Hylian. Now they look immature, the dragoon giggled at the spectacle. Lyra quickly stood up but the observer realized that there was something wrong about the way she was standing. Her face showed hidden pain that she didn't want to reveal even though her opponent was blind. Latio didn't seriously hurt her, did he?

Suddenly, a sharp and cold wind came out of nowhere carrying the smell of rain. Kai was almost blown off balance by surprise and the other two acted in a similar way. What was that? The dragoon looked around and noticed that to the left the cloud platforms were starting to converge into one huge cloud. All the fluffy platforms began to turn a greyish color. Another wind blew, forcefully pushing her cloud to the large mass and dropping her to her knees so she wouldn't fall off. "I think were going to get caught in a storm," she yelled to the two warriors.

"Is it bad?" Latio asked back.

"It kind of looks that way," Lyra commented. Kai took another look at the large thunderhead.

"As long as we stay on top of the cloud, we should be fine," the dragoon decided. "Haven't you ever wanted to fight on top of a thunder cloud?"

OoC: A storm is brewin'. I just had to say that.

OoC: Sorry again for the wait (and the crappy post). History essays are evil...and Tales of Symponia is addicting.

BiC:
Lyra felt her anger rise as Latio kicked her sword off the edge. He offered a hand, and Lyra looked like she was going to take it, when instead, she tackled him to he ground. She then began to kick him. The kicks weren't too hard, but they were hard enough to cause a few bruises. Latio then rolled around her and kicked her in her back.

She heard a crack, and the nex thing she knew, she was on the ground. She got up quickly, only to find that made the pain even worse. She couldn't stand up straight, and she was on the verge of tears. Don't show weakness, she reminded herself as she tried in vain to ignore the pain.

She suddenly felt a cold wind that came out of nowhere. Along with it came the smell of rain. "I think we're going to be caught in a storm," Kai said as another forceful wind blew.

"Is it bad?" Lyra heard Latio ask.

"It looks that way," Lyra respnded, looking at the cloud that she was standing on grown larger and larger.

"As long as we stay on top of the cloud, we should be fine," the dragoon decided. "Haven't you ever wanted to fight on top of a thunder cloud?"

[i]No, not particulary,[i] Lyra thought. Having been caught in many storms, Lyra knew that this was going to be particulary bad. “One with lots of lightning,” she murmured. Lyra did not want to be on a cloud during a storm. “Should we…reschedule this fight?” she asked Latio.

"Ha! You think I'm scared of a little thunder?" Latio said bravely. "But if you give in, go ahead, surrender."

Kai looked worried "Latio, you're smarter than this. Please reconsider."

The foxfolk thought it over. "Well, if you say so, m'lady." As he walked by the dragoon, he gave her a slight kiss on the cheek. She blushed and turned away. "Ok, we'll finish this later. Um, Kai?"

"Yes?"

"Could you get my weapon?"

She sighed. "Fine." The winged woman came up struggling with holding up the huge weapon, and went back down to retreive the old shortsword. "And here's yours, Lyra."

"I'll send you a note saying where to meet me, Lyra. We will fight then."

"And I'll win."

OoC: I choose the field! And yes, I am aware that Kai is bethrothed. I'll send you a PM once I make the battle, Rising Light.

OoC: So I see my first hosted battle has ended on a weather account. Stupid rain. It wasn't much of a battle for me but I had some fun being an observer. Thanks for joining you two. Oh, and on that bethrothed note, Kai's been banished so that kind of negates that whole thing.
