Re: A Duel by the Flowing Stream
I gave a good stretch and yawned, I had been walking all morning. A babbling stream gurgled beside me. I knelt down beside it, dipping my hands into the cool water and taking a long drink. Wiping my mouth on my sleeve I stood and gave another good stretch. A deer scampered out from a clearing and into the brush. I smiled, I had to admit, I loved wildlife. Before continuing I took a moment to take a deep breath and appreciate the peacefulness of my surroundings. Taking a step forward I started walking again. Suddenly I stopped, my ears perked up.
“Who’s there?” I yelled as I whirled around and unsheathed my sword. There was no one there, the wind rustled some of the loser parts of my Sheikan bodysuit. I fingered my sword idly, awaiting an unsuspected foe to pop up, but there was nothing. A shadow darted behind me, I whirled around. I sheathed my sword and reached into hidden pockets, slipping my metal nails on. I began running, the shadow darted in-between the trees from the other side of the stream. I leapt into a tree, clinging to it with the claws then leaping to another, and another. With a great leap I leapt off the tree and drew my sword. Brining it down hard my sword clanked against a massive 5-foot sword. A strange looking man stood before me, he had flaming red hair with black streaks in it and white eyes, he was slightly taller then me and wore a brown cloak with the hood down.
“Who are you?” I asked. My respond was a painful punch to the face. I reeled back and slammed into a tree, blood trickling from my nose.
“Nice to meet you to,” I said sarcastically as I wiped the blood away from my nose. I stood readily holding my sword, eyeing my new opponent carefully.
