Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

(Before "A Matter Of Character" between me and Linkrules)

OoC: Okay, Murasame, I'm gonna start this exactly how we planned.

BiC: The vampire called Maximilian was sitting in the darkness of the windowless, highest floor of Immortal Eye Ltd. with Solomon Delgado, a brown-haired vampire in a business suit, and Bastian Faust, who looking nothing more than an average teenager. All three were close allies, and ran the company together as the Council. They were each sitting in a chair, meditating on what moves to make concerning company growth, and whether they should move the company headquarters to a new location.

"...Well, Max, what do you think?"

"Ah, guys, you know me. I've long since retired from worrying about those kinds of things, but I can tell you right away, this is the best place for a sunset I've seen yet."

Sol chuckled a little at this. "We should start looking at vacation packages, then?"

Bastian shifted in his seat, and stared at the wall even more closely. He was dressed in a black tee, and a pair of dark jeans, and a baseball cap.

"So, where's that girl you were talking about, Max?"

"Ah, Valdaria. She's gone for a little ride on Astralis." He seemed almost entranced as he talked about her, and closed his eyes.

"You love her, don't you?"

"Of course."

"Good to hear...sorry about Cassandra."

"Don't be sorry, Bastian. There's nothing anyone could do. At least I still have good memories to go back to. "

Bastian sadly nodded his head, eerily mature for his appearance. No one by first site would believe that he's seen eighty years of life ebb away on this Earth.

As they sat in that room that denied access to sunlight, none of them anticpated a tall samurai warrior jumped from rooftop to rooftop. This warrior was unlike any seen in this world, and he carried on his shoulder a small, man-like creature with spiky dark purple hair that coated most of it's body. His armor was also very elaborate, consisting of a strange reptile skin and some kind of bone. Around one of his arms was wrapped in a thick black chain that coiled until it reached his wrist, then the excess of chain attached to a katana with a black blade, which was gripped firmly in his hand as he gracefully leapt.

Just as he reached Immortal Eye, the creature on his shoulder grew slightly, and it sprouted large, dark purple wings and it carried the warrior upwards, over the cars that passed by, and all of the rectangular apartment buildings, to the very roof of the building. At this point the smiling purple being slid off the swordsman, and began to claw into the roof. Upon closer view, it was now evident that the samurai had one red eye, like a demon of some sort. He raised his blade high, and prepared to slice into the rooftop.

Re: Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

Murasame stood on the roof with his blade high in the air.

"This is it" Konjiro said with confidence in his voice. Murasame put the blade down and looked around.

"This place is so different from my time, but I know this is the same country I was born in", Murasame said as he looked down at the street and the buildings.
The samurai knew this because of the language he heard the civilians speak.

“You’re wasting my time" Konjiro said in an angry tone. Murasame approached the spot on the roof where he stood before, and raised his blade in preparation to attack. He slashed at the roof, and the samurai cut a thin diagonal line with ease. Then he slashed at the roof again making a second cut, both formed a X. The surface with the thin cuts started to crumble and fell onto the table in the conference room.

"What the hell!" Max yelled as he looked though the new sky light. Murasame then jumped though the giant jagged hole and landed on the table. The force of the samurai hitting the table caused it to break and sent business paper flying in the air. Solomon and Bastian drew there weapons and stared at the warrior that had rudely disrupted their meeting. Murasame looked around at the strange room with an angry look on his face, his red eye glowing. Murasame stood up and stared at the two rings on his left hand, one was glowing yellow the other green.

“Long time no see Murasame", Max said in a calm voice.

Re: Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

"...Konjiro, too? Ah, I see you truly hold up your oath as a true friend, as usual." Max proclaimed as the purple infernal creature vanished in a puff of purple smoke off of Murasame, reappearing on Max's shoulder, and he nodded first to his comrade the samurai, then to his returned familiar. The creature was resting with one arm around Max's neck, the other gripped firmly on his shoulder.

"So, this is your company, eh?"

"Yeah. Not many people worth killing, except for perhaps my lawyers."

Murasame did not laugh, for he did not know what a lawyer was, being from a time where disputes were settled with the drawing of blades, so he simply nodded quietly. Max turned, and gazed upwards through the hole in the ceiling.

"You'll have to pay for that ceiling." He said, his eyes growing wide as he often does when thinking of sparring. Murasame recognized this, and readied his blade. The vampire in the torn black robe whispered in Konjiro's ear, and the small demon nodded, becoming a haze of dark purple smoke, which clouded over Max's entire body. When the smoke was no more, the vampire was wearing a suit of ornate purple armor, with a black cloth that draped over his lower midsection, held secure by a dark leather belt that wasn't there before. In addition to a shining black lining, the armor had only a single mark: a glimmering black eye design on the right side of his breastplate.

Murasame took a fighting stance, and his ally did too, as they prepared to do battle. Solomon and Bastian, who knew that the two would like to be alone for whatever it might be that they were doing, had left shortly before the fight began, taking the executive elevator.

The demon samurai rushed at Max, fists at the ready. Max took the stance of an expert martial artist, blocking all of the warrior's blows.

"I see you've been training. Counter this--" Murasame sent a powerful kick in Max's direction, hitting him squarely in the gut, causing him to fly backwards, hitting the back wall of the room.

"Good one, Mura. How about a little of this?" Max glowed red for a second, and then what was left was a massive amount of bats with purple auras that flew around the room, clawing at the samurai in a wild, feral rush. The japanese warrior swung at the bats with his sword, Tokijin, but they were moving too quickly, clouding his vision.

Murasame then decided he could fight them better in an open space, and jumped upwards, bursting another hole in the roof as he landed firmly on the top of the massive skyscraper.

He waited for the bats to resurface through the other two holes, but a new hole burst open behind him, and the flying creatures swirled together, glowed red again, and became Max again.

The two clashed in a flurry of hand-to-hand attacks, intermixed with a few scissorkicks and flips, a lone helicopter passin overhead, fortunately not noticing the battle going on at Immortal Eye. Max countered a few of Murasame's moves, who had to use the blunt side of his sword to fight, as he couldn't remove it or it's chain from his arm.

The eccentric blood-drinker grinned as he felt Konjiro at his side in battle once again. He almost felt whole again as he opened his right hand, and whitish, blue smoke came out of his wrist, and what appeared to be small bolts of lightning crackled in the blue light as it extended, taking the shape of Max's trusted phantom blade, Jenorath. A new development was the purple aura spread to Jenorath, and it crackled with bright energy as it took the form of a Nodachi sword.

"A fan of Mura's culture, eh Konjiro? Very well. Akira taught me how to use one of these as well."

As one might know, the Nodachi is a much longer version of a samurai sword, and requires much more strength to wield, but the vampire's preternatural power allowed him to wield it like an extension of his arm.

Murasame also drew his blade, and prepared himself for anything the vampire might have up his sleeve, including leaves.

Re: Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

Murasame stood silent, watching the vampire's stance closely. The sun was beating down on the two, as they evaluated each others stance, watching for flaws. The opponents leaped forward at the same time, but Murasame grounded himself right before colliding with Max. Using the slick rooftop to his advantage, the samurai slid underneath the vampire attempting to penetrate the armor, but failed. Instead of finding a weak spot the samurai hit the kneecap of the purple armor sending Max forward even more, causing him to use a handstand to regain balance. Murasame continued to slide, but soon stopped when he stabbed his katana deep into the rooftop.

"Tricky Murasame, Triicky!"

"That armor is very strong."

"Thanks for bringin' 'um back, man."

"Your welcome."

Murasame ran forward at full speed, but suddenly stopped half way. The samurai stood approximately 6 Feet from Max, and let go of his Tokijin cause it to it the floor. As the sword laid on the floor, Murasame released massive slack on his chain, and unexpected by Max, the samurai abruptly swung his right arm causing the chain to reach out with the blade, slicing at Max's leg armor.

From the impact of Mura's attack, Max fell forward, headfirst, but radiated with a red aura, and became a flurry of bats once again, to avoid himself open to another of the warrior's powerful assaults. The winged creatures then soared at the armor-clad swordsman once more.

Keeping the burning clawmarks and cuts on his face in mind, he quickly performed what appeared to be a suicide dive, but upon closer inspection, he had fallen onto a smaller building, it's wider black roof scattered haphazardly with air-conditioning units and a water tower.

"Come on, " Murasame yelled, turning his back to the approaching black cloud of bats. He ran until reaching the water tower, he waited until the bats neared, then quickly slashed a deep and wide gash, spraying the beasts back with a tumultuous onslaught of water, causing them to crash into a large air conditioning unit. After impact, the soaking creatures assumed a human form, which angrily spat water.

"Low blow, dude."

Re: Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

Max got to his feet, his purple armor now glistening with moist droplets of the same water which now flooded the rooftop, and occasionally splashed onto a unfortunate passerby. He gripped Jenorath's new form tightly, ready to continue the fight.

"I see you aren't as adapted to using an Eastern Sword as opposed to Western, Max. Akira taught you the basics of eastern swordplay, but gunplay is his specialty, or so you said to me once before."

The samurai noted aloud. He then charged at Max, who, this time around, was standing perfectly still.

"Hmm...good observation. Observe this!"

Max's mystic seasonal ring illuminated on his finger, and he took a deep breath, and quickly released a massive gust of autumn wind, pushing Murasame backwards, so he was running in place. It looked slightly comical, and Max laughed while he used the technique, interrupting his intervals of breath enough for Murasame to reach Max, and swing at his head.

Max narrowly ducked from the warrior's assault, and swung his blade at his friend's legs, causing a decent cut through his ninjitsu pants, and causing some blood to spill. Max had his fill of blood today, so in no way did it increase or provoke his hunger. Murasame then swung down for a second attempt for damage, cutting the vampire's cheek as he rolled to the left, sending a flash of light generated by Max's mind into Murasame's eyes.

While the samurai was blinded, Max swung his Nodachi diagonally and upwards, creating sparks as it skidded across the demon bone armor. Murasame decide he would now activate a little of his ring's power as well, and the white gem in the center of his armor began to release mist, and an icy chill from Murasame's body froze the small amount of water left of the roof, creating slippery points.

As he returned slack to the chain by wrapping around his arm, it turned a faint blue which made it's way all to his katana. Max stood at the ready, waiting for Murasame's next attack.

Re: Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

Murasame's Tokijin was suddenly engulfed in an arctic mist. Max inspected the blade and the new stance closely.

"So you learned how to use The Ring of Winter."

The samurai simply nodded. Murasame raised his now arctic katana and slashed at the rooftop. When the blade hit the ground it sent a row of large ice spikes embedded in the ground. Max thought he knew what was coming and jumped back to the edge of the roof. As Max expected the spikes stopped right in front of him, but to Max's surprise the spikes began to glow with a crimson, demonic light, coursing across the spikes like electricity. The new energy caused the ice spikes to shatter into a thousand small shards. Murasame held his open palm in Max's direction, and the ring in Murasame's armor shined. Murasame closed his palm and sent the shards towards Max.

Max slashed at the shards, but was unable to hit them all. Five shards hit the vampire. Three hit his left leg and two hit him in his left shoulder.

In retaliation Max sent a demonic blast from his Nodachi, the blast sent Murasame flying backwards. The samurai hit the air conditioner behind him with great force. Murasame's body tore right through the metallic box, and he landed on the other side.

As Murasame stood up he heard a voice in the sky.

"Drop your weapons and put your hands up!"

Re: Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

The two sparring warriors glanced upwards, and a large police helicopter was hovering overhead, the swift fwup-fwup-fwup-fwup of the sleek machine trying to drown out the voice on the megaphone.

"You are under arrest! I repeat, drop those weapons!"

Neither of the two friends so much as flinched when he commanded them to drop their blades. They just kept staring at the helicopter, swords at their sides. Max grinned and stepped forward, actually dropping his sword. He then resumed staring at the helicopter.

"Now, put your hands up!"

Max seemed solemn now, and put his hands in the air. Shortly after he did, his ring began to glow, and the armor on his arms dissapeared, leaving only one bare arm and one cloaked sleeve. Murasame now understood what his old comrade was about to do. The sleeve widened, and a single object appeared in the vampire's hand: a leaf. The men in the flying machine couldn't make out what it was as Max sent it flying at them at an awesome speed, and before the officers knew it, they were falling. The rotating metallic blade that had kept them afloat had been separated by the small projectile, cutting it like butter. Max reached his sword out to the air, and the rotary flew to him, attracted by his vampiric force, and he sent it at Murasame.

Eventually there was an explosion down below; the helicopter had just hit the street. Max had confidence the men had used parachutes before they were killed, but didn't care too much. They had got in the way.

In a flash, Murasame jumped upwards, and landed perfectly on the blade, causing it to slowly land on the edge of the roof.

"That was an interesting strategy, Max. But not very practical. Good way of getting rid of fools, though. Didn't he see that we were battling? I am starting to think this world has gained a lack of honor over these many years."

"You're very correct about that, Murasame." Max said, summoning Jenorath to his hand, which became a Nodachi sword once more upon touch of the purple aura. Murasame took his stance as well, and this time their swords clashed several times upon meeting in the center of the building, smoke rising from the two demonic energies meeting at such quick intervals.

Re: Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

As the two warriors continued to fight, they had no idea that a large group of onlookers had gathered at the base of the building. The collection of citizens consisted of policemen, firefighters, press, and bystanders. The cops were setting up caution tap, and yelling at the crowd.

“Stay behind the tape”, one office was yelling using a megaphone.
While the police were controlling the crowd, the firefighters were putting out the raging fire resonating from the crash site.Solomon was watching from his office on the 40th floor, his assistant was standing next to him ready for orders.

“This is bad”, Solomon said in an annoyed tone. The assistant nodded his head.

“Your orders sir.”

“Lets just wait, we only need to take action if they are caught.”

The crowd of onlookers moved to the side so that a large black van could pull up next to the front door.

“Move in now!”. The back door of the van swung open and 10, heavily armed Swat members ran to the door. Murasame Jumped to the edge of the roof and looked down.

“Looks like we have company.”

“The more the merrier”, Max said in a confident tone.

Both Max and Murasame watch the door located on the roof. Without warning the door slammed open and the Swat team had their guns pointed at both warriors. Murasame readied his sword for the bullets, he knew what this weapons were due to his time around Max. Out of the corner of his eye, Murasame saw Max run forward.

“Open fire!”. Bullets began flying at Murasame, but he blocked them with his blade. The bullets hitting the sword caused sparks to fly in every direction. Max jumped in the air to avoid the projectiles. The vampire landed in the middle of the group and grabbed one of the Swat members. Murasame watch as Max jumped on top of the empty water tower Murasame used to escape the bat onslaught. Max had the scared man by the neck, as he yelled and tried to escape the vampires grasp.

“You have no idea what you just got involved in”, Max said from his high perch.

Re: Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

The Vampyrus clad in indigo armor held the man in the black kevlar vest even higher upwards with one arm, as if he weighed nothing at all. The Swat officer was staring down at Max with scared eyes. Ectoplasm glowed on Max's arm.

"This...was supposed to be a private occasion."

The other special enforcers decided their teammate couldn't be spared, and replied with a hail of bullets. Max evaded every shot, using the hostage's bulletproof vest to block the shots.

"Give up, and get lost," Max ordered sternly, holding the now-unconscious officer limply at his side. Another bullet went off, and Max felt the side of his cheek burning like fire. He restrained his urge to shake with anger at the foolishness of these men, and remembered the calmness he was taught.

"Very well, then."

Murasame hadn't seen his friend handle a situation so calmly in a long time. While the officers were preoccupied with Max and his hostage, the samurai had silently lunged forward and knocked two distracted sentry SWAT officers helmets together with great strength. After hearing gunfire he turned to see that Max was still grasping the limp man by the collar, and was apparently about to kick some major ass.

The sun was now at it's peak; the day had reached noon. The nightwalker with red eyes opened his mouth, using his mystical gust of autumn technique at the interrupting party, sending two armored men closest to the edge of the skyscraper skidding helplessly off, the look on their faces priceless as they began a downward descent. The remaining officers aimed their guns, but Max hurled his hostage at the other SWAT members, giving him time to attack.

This is the point at which Max took a stance and began to use a variation of the martial art he was taught at Kagrua-Ji monastery, T'ai Chi Ch'uan, or "Ultimate Supreme Fist." He ran through the group of paramilitary police, dodging all but two punches with his fast footwork. Before the two officers that were able to make contact realized what had happened, Max's right leg was tightly folded around the first's wrist, and his left arm was folded around the second's ankle. The vampire quickly performed a unique spiral move in a splitsecond, breaking both of the men's bones in the areas he grasped, and landing on his knees as more enforcers approached.

Meanwhile, another group of SWAT officers entered through the doorway, and Murasame greeted them with blade in hand.

Re: Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

Murasame watched the officers carefully to make sure he knew the exact moment they pulled the trigger on there large assault rifles. All of the 6 officers fired in the samurai’s direction. Murasame ran to the commander of the squad, dodging the bullets that were fired in his direction. Before the armed officer could say a word Murasame slammed the hilt of his katana into the man’s glass face guard. The force of the hit caused the hilt to shatter the glass. The man let out a cry of pain and held his head up as a large stream of blood shot up into the air.

“Oh God,” the man yelled as he walk away from Murasame, the blood had blinded the man, which forced him to wonder around the rooftop.

Wasting no time Murasame ran forward and greeted a Swat officer with a high kick to the face. The force of the kick caused him to hit the door behind him. Murasame jumped high into the air and used the sun to block his descent into the middle of the last four officers. The samurai placed both of his hands on the left and right arms of the officer on his left. Murasame then jumped into the air and placed his feet on the screaming officers shoulders and pulled with great force on his arms while his legs pushed on the shoulders. A loud snap was heard on the roof top. Murasame then used the Swat officer’s body as a springboard and jumped to the large water tower. To Murasame’s surprise he over shot the tower, but throw his blade at the empty structure. Tokijin became embedded in the tower and he used his chain to pull himself to the metal structure.

The samurai landed on the corner behind the water tower and slashed all the support legs. Before the tower could hit the floor Murasame kicked it towards the access door to the roof, it hit the door and stayed there blocking the stairway.

“Good thinking Mura.”

Max turned back around to kick the last swat member off the roof. After the job was done Max turned around again to talk to Murasame, but was greeted with a high kick to his face that sent him flying to the neighboring building’s fire escape. Max hit the side of the wall and sent pieces of brick in all directions. The vampire fell to the fire escape and got up to his feet to see that Murasame was facing him on the other side of the metal walkway.

Max transformed into bats and began to attach Murasame from all sides. To escape the bats Murasame stabbed his katana into metal flooring of the fire escape, once the blade hit the floor it released a surge of demonic energy that engulfed all the floors of the escape. Murasame had planned that the demonic energy would force the bats away from him, but the sword released more energy than planned and caused every floor of the fire escape to shake violently.

The demonic energy blasted Murasame and the bats off of the escape. Max reformed as he was falling, the demonic blast had weakened Max and he could not retain the form. Both warriors hit the alleyway with great force, and could not move. The cops began to run to the alley, but stopped as they saw that the fire escape was falling a part. Each floor of the structure had separated and was falling into the alley. The warriors were then buried as it crashed on top of there seemingly lifeless bodies.

Re: Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

Each floor began to creak, and the lowest section of the fire escape released a loud metallic clang as it tore from the building, the lingering demonic energy causing the metal stairway to literally collapse into all of it's components with the two warriors. When it was over, no one could see the either one of the mysterious duo under the layered maze-like grids black metal, but they assumed one thing: they were dead.

There were at least fifty floors worth of fire escape laying in that wide alleyway, and three police vehicles were crushed and pierced in the destruction. The entire police department unit seemed very relieved, and got closer to the wreckage. There were three ambulance parked behind the police, and the paramedics didn't even try to see if Max and Murasame had survived, too busy placing bodies in black bags, and treating other injured bystanders. They all looked puzzled as to what happened, and they would have later noted it as a freak accident, if it had remained a finished affair.

There was a single faint glow of red and purple energy weakly rising from openings in the remains of the thick debris, and smaller particles of rubble began to rise from the pavement, while larger pieces vibrated. The officers' reaction to this was belated, and before they ducked for cover or ran, there was a massive detonation of light as metal was flung hap-hazardly in all directions, and blasting all of the cars backwards. One officer was killed as the escape ladder had struck him into the back while he was looking in the opposite direction, breaking his back in two. Another died when a piece of broken walkway was hurled at his vehicle, taking his head off as it shattered through the windshield.

All in all, it was a gruesome affair. Maximilian and Murasame stood where they once were buried, a deep crater around each of their feet, demonic energies surrounding both. Murasame had a chunk of metal lodged in his arm, and Max had several cuts on his face just as the wound on his cheek pushed the bullet that the SWAT officer had fired so ignorantly at his face. They were now sure no one dared approach them now, and their blades clashed once again.

Murasame's red eye appeared indignant and furious, and Max's fangs were now completely extended.

"Now, that's entertainment."

Re: Reunion Of The Once-Lost (Murasame)

The warriors jumped back to plan there next attacks, but Murasame moved back to address his wound. Max watched as Murasame pulled the long thin piece of scrap metal from his forearm, once the metal was out a cascade of blood leaked out that ran down his left arm and left leg. Murasame then turned around and walked towards an ambulance located outside the alley, no one dared to attack him, in fact they all ran away, it was as if the samurai was a plague. Murasame stopped behind the emergency vehicle and slashed at its back doors. The doors fell apart and Murasame hopped up into the back of the automobile and searched for some kind of medical warps. Max wasted no time, the badly damaged cop car in the alley caught his eye. Vampire approached the wrecked car and put his hands underneath it and lifted the automobile. Once it was over his head, he threw it at the ambulance.

“What happens when you turn around during a pitch,” Max yelled as he threw the car.

The small car hit the ambulance, and sent them both flying at the building to the side of the automobiles.

“Ya get hit *****,” Max said answering his own question.

The ambulance was on its side with the cop car on top of it. Max grabbed the back of the cop car and threw it off the ambulance. The side of the emergency vehicle began to freeze and fell a part. As the ice fell apart Murasame jumped out of the new exit and landed in front of Max. The samurai had blood soaked medical warp around his wound. As Murasame looked behind Max, he saw a helicopter hovering behind the vampire. A cop equipped with a rocket launcher and one with a machine gun both opened fire at the two warriors.

“Behind you,” Murasame said as he jumped above the two wreaked cars.

Max heard the sound of the gunfire and slammed his sword at the street and caused it to crumble at his feet.

Before Murasame could get high enough to avoid the explosion that was about to occur below him, he was hit in the leg by the machine gunner. As the samurai was fallen the two automobiles were hit by the rocket and exploded. The flames and the force of the explosion hit him and sent him flying forward engulfed in flames. Murasame fell into the large hole Max had used to escape to the sewer below.

Murasame stood up in the shallow water and tore off his burnt trenchcoat.

“I think we should go,” Max said.

“I agree.”

Max and Murasame ran in the sewer for what seemed like hours, until they reached the exit of the sewer located under a bridge. When the made it out they saw a black limo in front of the exit. The back door opened up and Solomon stepped out.

“I think that’s enough fun for one day,” Solomon said to the two warriors as if they were children.

OOC: I think that’s the end of the battle.
