Transgression of The Mind (Wielder of The Sword)
OoC: WoTS, it appears that your battle with KM is still going, and I haven't got the patience to wait for it to end to do our battle, since I'm so psyched *gets charged* for ours. Here is a link to my halfdragon character, Sabbath. He is obviously who I shall be using. And I know tons already about your own character, Blitz, so it is not necessary that you provide a link to him. Anyway, I suppose I will start this battle out. It will take place not in a forest, thats way too overused. How about ... ah what the fudge, lets just say in a hilly area, like your fight with KM is. I shall start us out, I guess. Here we go ...
BiC: Sabbath peaked yet another one of the small hills, and stared about at the landscape around him. All he saw for miles around were hills similar to the one he stood on. The halfdragon let out a sigh, his white hair rustling about in the wind. The sun had set only minutes before, and the sky above him was dark blue ... just enough light to see by. The grass swayed beneath him, and he reached down, running his fingers through the soft plantation. He had left Ellington, a town three leagues north of the hills he was now in, over five hours ago, and had met not a single resistence since then. It unnerved him ... usually danger was everywhere. And with all the cover around here what with all the hills, he felt much less assured. As his fingers slid between the blades of green, he suddenly stood, drawing out Saverth, and grasped its red hilt fiercely. His eyes flashed red, and he forced himself to stay calm. Someone was following him. But it feels like a controlled presence ... I sense powerful magic about. Perhaps more powerful than me ... who ... or what ... is this radiating from? Sabbath whirled around, swinging out Saverth, and was not at all surprised to both hear and see it smote upon the shaft of another blade. For a second, the halfdragon only looked at the sword. Then his eyes fell upon its wielder. Just a boy ... a harmless little boy. Though his eyes were raw with deep knowledge and force. Sabbath was unable to steal his gaze away from him for a second, then yanked Saverth back to his side, and paced around the boy. He also paced around Sabbath, so they made small circles on the hill. "Who are you, and why are you following me?" questioned Sabbath calmly. His anger and tension had melted away. He knew that this was just a boy, but he still remained vigilant, in case he held a secret he had yet to discover. "I am called many names," said the boy, equally calmly. "I am Keir. You can call me Blitz." "Blitz," repeated Sabbath, rolling the name around his forked tongue. "Blitz Keir ... your name holds a power, child." Blitz's eyes flashed dangerously. "Do not call me child, dragon!" "And do not call me dragon, child!" Sabbath shot back. Both adversaries shot forward and their weapons met in a shower of sparks. Both whirled around, swinging their swords over their backs to block nonexistent swings to their spines, and their swords collided again. Both had swept at each others ankles. As they strained and pushed against each other, Blitz spoke. "I am no child ..." he muttered. "I merely appear as one." "I suspected that by the power within you," gasped out Sabbath. "And I am not a savage dragon ... I am a halfdragon, one of my lost race. We have control of our emotions, and when we truly do transform into our dragon forms, we have control over our movements." "And that I also guessed," said Blitz, strain stretching out his words. The Supernova Sword and Saverth whirled apart, and both men struck at each others heads. The swords met near the top, and sparks glanced off their indestructable surfaces. Sabbath grinned, a tiny glint in his eye. This was a worthy foe, indeed. Blitz also shared the excitement for battle, and returned the smile. To the halfdragon, it seemed odd for a man in a childs body to have a bloodlust in his eye. He shrugged off the odd sight, and pushed as hard as he could against his opponents sword. It did not give. And neither did his. Again, at the same sinuous moment, both halfdragon and human shoved away from each other, and at the same time, flung out their hands. From both, erupted a great tongue of flame, which shot forward, fast as an arrow, and collided halfway between the two. The heat from it was inexplicably more hot than expected, and the bright light that radiated from its center made both Blitz and Sabbath shut their eyes for a second. The light quickly faded, and they were back in twilight. Sabbath twirled his sword between his fingers, and they paced around each other again. Once or twice they struck out against each other, connecting blades. "You are indeed powerful, Blitz Keir," said Sabbath quietly. "And truly gifted with magic, just as powerful as mine. It seems we are equally matched." Sabbath shrugged matter-of-factly. Blitz's mouth twisted into a smile. He knew that his halfdragon adversary wanted a fight to the death. And he was prepared to give it to him. "Ready when you are," said Blitz with a smile. Sabbath's smile grew, and he struck out again at the boy that was a man. OoC: Wow, that actually produced very VERY good results. Your move, amigo. |

Re: Transgression of The Mind (Wielder of The Sword)
OoC: I can definitely see this battle happening. You've improved vastly since we last encountered... Prepare for your greatest battle yet!
![]() BiC: Wary of his opponent’s speed, Blitz leapt up and over the halfdragon’s head. Within an instant he was behind the opponent, lashing out at him. Sabbath did not have time to turn around, but lunged away from the blade easily. The Supernova sang as it whittled through the air, missing its target by a full foot or more. Blitz lunged at the enemy’s back again, but this time Sabbath had more than enough time to whip around and guard against the blow with his longsword which had slithered into his hand like water into a crack in the ground. Pushing against his enemy’s blade, Blitz found himself caught in yet another swordlock. He chuckled with bemusement. At least they were about the same height; he always found it more difficult to fight those taller than himself, a classification which included approximately three-quarters of the sentient population. “Have you ever fought a human before?” Blitz asked out of morbid, but genuine, curiosity. Sabbath appeared equally amused, for he returned the chuckle. “Yes. But have you ever fought a halfdragon before?” He seemed rather satisfied with his quip. The human restrained a full-blown laugh at the question because, to him, it was quite ridiculous. “Humans, dragons, halfdragons, machines, lizardmen, elementals, mages, elves, immortals, genetic superbeings…” he muttered, straining hard under the weight of his foe’s sword. “They’re all the same to me. All of them can bleed and die, just like you.” At that, Sabbath sneered in offense. “Do not compare me with creatures of other races, boy!” With a burst of strength, he broke the swordlock and landed a quick blow on the right of Blitz’ chest. He let out a gasp of surprise, but immediately leapt back. Though the runic clothing did not tear beneath Sabbath’s Saverth, a dark-violet stain began to spread from the point of impact. Not bad, the human thought. But Drake could do better. Putting on a burst of speed, Blitz rushed the halfdragon. Given that he had just leapt away, Sabbath had not expected this, and received a shoulder wound for his carelessness. Crimson filtered softly the mail, invisibly staining the black shirt. Again, Blitz leapt back and took a defensive stance. Sabbath staggered slightly, but regained his composure after a moment. “Heh, heh… Impressive.” Blitz smirked at the compliment. “But I have only begun to fight.” “I should hope so. At this rate, I could easily take you down.” “Hah!” Sabbath snarled; a decent swordsman, and he could hold his own in an insult contest. This human is quite haughty, given his life span. I shall do him the honor of shortening it! Making certain that both the Saverth and his favorite longsword were equipped in a cross shape, the halfdragon rushed his opponent. The blades came within centimeters of scissoring Blitz’ head clean off of his neck, but the human dropped to a crouch and swiped the Supernova across Sabbath’s legs. Blood spattered on the ground as the halfdragon jumped away and nursed the wound carefully. “I repeat,” said Blitz coolly, still in his crouching stance. “They can all bleed and die. Just… like… you.” He forced a poisonous sting into each of the last three words, making sure they all struck their mark. Sabbath cried out in rage at the human’s harsh words, completely forgetting about his injured left calf. Repressed hatred boiled up within him; he could now easily transcend to his fulldragon counterpart, but he was not quite done toying with this human boy. Just a little longer, he thought maliciously. Then he shall suffer my blade... OoC: Interesting title, by the way. It sounds like something I would've named a chapter from my old fic. Oh, and sorry it took so long to get back to you. Somehow, I didn't expect things to be this... interesting. ![]()

Re: Transgression of The Mind (Wielder of The Sword)
OoC: Yes, an eventful battle it shall be. But lets agree on one thing … this should end in a tie. Why? Because I think that both of these guys are evenly matched, and could tear each other apart. So lets have this be interesting
![]() BiC: Shrugging off his anger, Sabbath sheathed his longsword and yanked out his staff, whirling it around in a dizzying pattern that sent the wind around the two warriors into a frenzied howling. This display of skill did not hinder Blitz in the least, although Sabbath had not been going for impressing his opponent. It was merely something he did every time he prepared to battle with it. “A staff?” said Blitz with a raised eyebrow. “You are well endowed indeed, my worthy adversary.” Sabbath ignored the human, not voicing his distaste for overconfidence. Overconfidence led to mistakes, which led to a mortal wound for being careless, like had just been. The boy thought he had been toying with him. Well now we shall see who has fun with who. The halfdragon shot towards the human with speed disproportional to his stature. Blitz did not have the time to react, and barely got the Supernova sword up in time to parry a swing that would have rent his head into two pieces. The swing had such force behind it that he was forced to use both hands to ward off the blow. However, as he was distracted with this sword lock, Sabbath’s staff jabbed forward twice, slamming the Keir in the stomach hard. Blitz doubled over, then felt Saverth bite into his side. Growing slightly angry, he thrust out the Supernova sword. Sabbath backed away, but not before the sword grazed his side as well, though not as fiercely. Sabbath set his staff back in its holder across his back. Blitz shrugged in confusion. “Pick your weapons and stick with them, halfdragon,” he ordered. “This battle does not have rules. I will do what I must,” replied Sabbath coolly. “I fight in many ways, these being but a few. I could stun you with magic right now, or I could take both my staff and Saverth out again and strike. Or I could do longsword and staff, or just staff, or just longsword …” “You do not need to explain it to me, sir,” said Blitz, slightly annoyed. He watched the halfdragon spinning his signature sword around his hand. Their eyes locked together. Neither moved. Neither breathed. It seemed as though they had suddenly frozen in reality, their iron wills clashing together for the first time. Suddenly, two mental probes spiked into each others consciousness, and both yelled in confusion, trying to ward off the mental attack. Both managed it, and when they opened their eyes, they found themselves on their knees, breathing hard. They looked at each other for a split second, then dove forward, slashing hard at each other. The mental connection that had just occurred linked and unlinked them. Both knew exactly when and where and how hard their opponent was going to strike, and the battle raged on harder than either of them had ever fought before. The swords whistled through the air and smote together hard, sending yet more showers of sparks into the air. Then momentum would whirl them apart again, and they would fly back together. This continued on for well over five minutes, before both backed off mercifully, sweating profusely. “What just happened?” demanded Blitz feverishly. Sabbath had no idea, and forcibly calmed himself, already feeling spikes trying to poke out of his back. His eyes, which had been glowing red, receded back to their normal bright green color, and he shrugged traumatically. “I don’t know …” he said slowly, “our minds seem to have … melded together. We know what is going to happen in both of our thoughts. Since we both plan our moves before executing them, this will never end.” They both feel silent, mulling it over. Then they leapt forward, each knowing what the other was going to do. They spun past each other, and their swords flew above and behind their heads, crushing together with backbreaking force. They faced opposite directions, swords stuck together with a force unbelievably strong for both of them. Then they flew apart, whirled around, and struck at each others stomachs. Yet again the swords stopped each other halfway between the two. “So what now, Keir?” inquired Sabbath, strain again stretching his words. “Do we battle here for eternity until death takes us?” Blitz mulled it over, and then Sabbath said his answer corresponding with him, for he already knew what he was going to say. “Yes.” And they pulled both swords away and struck again. OoC: Now what? I have just linked both their minds so they know each others thoughts. Their only hope of beating each other now is improvising. But even that requires split second thought. Oh, this will be a battle to remember ![]() |

Re: Transgression of The Mind (Wielder of The Sword)
OoC: Sorry this took so long, but I finally came up with a good reply. I hope this doesn't ruin what you were going for. I thought about having this happen to Sabbath, but I don't want to call him stupid.
![]() BiC: Once, twice, three times the metal shafts struck with a loud ring. They clashed high, low, mid, combinations of the three. The sound would have been deafening to someone not accustomed to it; obviously, Blitz and Sabbath were not among those. A heavy wind began to pick up around the two combatants, muffling the sound of the clashing weapons a bit, and gently flattening the nearby shrubbery. Whether the wind was caused by the fighters’ rapid movements or by way of nature was difficult to discern. Autumn leaves floated lazily to the ground around them, strangely beautiful in this chaotic dance of death. Despite the apparent hopelessness of the situation, Blitz knew that there were two possible solutions to his dilemma. On one hand, he could dish out something that Sabbath, even in his enlightened state, could not react quickly enough to. The second solution, although much more realistic, would be considerably difficult. Though aware of this, Blitz had been working on the second solution for quite some time. Such actions as these went against all of his training, but there was always that lingering feeling over his head. Invoking it would be far from impossible. Then it happened. Blood trickled from Sabbath’s arm softly. The halfdragon stopped short, gazing at his arm in utter disbelief. “But… but how?” he wondered aloud. Blitz laughed loudly at his accomplishment, however embarrassing it was. “It appears that I now have the advantage, Sabbath.” Taking a few steps back, the human readied his sword for a counterattack should his foe take the opportunity to strike. “You see, I’ve spent half of my life not thinking. Until I was thirteen, such was only second nature to me.” His bemused smile was genuine in its entirety. Suddenly, Sabbath had a strange respect for this individual. His possession of this trait was both humiliating and bewildering. Was Blitz calling himself stupid? No, that couldn’t be it, thought the halfdragon in mild confusion. He must be hiding something. Perhaps he can bypass this telekinetic link…? Blitz rushed again, and once more Sabbath had not seen it coming. Despite that, he was able to raise his sword in defense. But just before the blades made contact, the human landed both feet into the halfdragon’s chest, sending him careening downhill. Landing with an “Oof!” he felt dazed. His vision swam in circles, doing laps in the back of his cornea, but settled after several moments. After shaking his head to focus himself, he examined the bootprint on his black shirt. A dirty print had been left in the center. Although the shirt was cleanable, Sabbath felt anger boil up within him. Damn! Now he can predict my actions, but I can’t predict his! The very thought of it was aggravating. His enemy, this human, was standing over Sabbath and grinning like an idiot. Who does he think he is?! No being can stand before the might of the halfdragons and live! Yes, he was sure of it now: Blitz was most certainly stupid. Sabbath would have to do him the favor of showing him his place.

Re: Transgression of The Mind (Wielder of The Sword)
OoC: Aah ... so Blitz is acting stupid so Sabbath may not read his mind ... very clever indeed. Well, lets just see how this goes.
BiC: Sabbath did an odd sort of backflip off of the ground, planting a hand in the soft grass and clutching it hard with the hand not brandishing Saverth with a tight, white knuckled hand. Blitz stood ready for him, the Supernova sword ready and waiting to gore out Sabbath if need be. You are indeed a worthy and tricky opponent, Blitz Keir. As they stared each other down once more, they both felt it again. The mental probe spiked into their conscious like a knife slipping between a pair of exposed ribs. For a second ... just a split second ... Blitz's concentration of ignorance slipped from the pain of the mental intrusion, and Sabbath felt his own probe glaze all over the Keir's mind ... He lunged forward, striking out with agility unmatched by anything he had ever tried, or even thought of doing, before. A deep wound inflicted hard into Blitz's side, startling him back to stupidity, but not before scarlet blood began to leak down his side. "Damn you," said the boy, clutching the Supernova sword in front of him with both hands. "So you expect to stop me that way? Well prepare to be dissapointed, halfdragon!" Knowing that his only chance to survive against the enraged child was to force himself down to as stupid as he was acting, Sabbath, for the first time in his entirely long, stressful life, let his conscious mind slip, and all knowledge stowed into the very back. Improvisation took hold of him, and both fighters were totally unpredictable. They struck forward at random, both slicing each others skin open at random intervals. Their eyes nearly went cross from the lightning quick movements each were making. As their blades met time and time again, the ground beneath their feet began to crumble from the ascending powers. Both were transforming. Blitz's eyes were glowing fiercely, and the stupidity from both feuders quickly disintegrated into nothing as they realized that the mental transgression had faded from existence. Unnoticed by either of them, their bodies began to burn fiercely with holy light, and their feet lifted slowly, almost hesitantly, from the ground. They bit and tore at each others flesh. Sabbath jerked back for a second as the Supernova sword opened up a nasty gash across his cheek. Blitz gasped as Saverth bit through his upper arm with speed matched by both. As they both continued to recklessly batter at each other, the sky all around the battle sight began to swirl, the clouds restlessly feigning patterns of stormy wonder, painting the sky with signs of a storm caused by the raging warriors below. They still fought hard, both of their bodies now splattered with each others blood, but neither slowed down; the powers within their bodies burnt far too fiercely, and they hardly felt the wounds at all. They were now over twenty feet into the air, their feet moving as if they were still standing on stiff, solid ground. And just as suddenly as the probes had left their minds, they stung back in, and the sky opened up. A blinding cry tore through the air, and a flash of lightning slashed out, striking both of them with an explosion that obliterated all of the grass and hills for a mile around. The sound of the fiery eruption reached their ears a second later, and they were instantly thrown into deafness, their bodies reacting accordingly. They jerked away, dripping with dark blood, and as the lightning slowly faded, they circled each other in the air, staring each other down with glowing, translucent eyes that pierced each of their souls. "Blitz Keir," called Sabbath, whirling Saverth high above his head, "our powers have transcended. We are the same!" The blood red sky above them boiled fiercely at his words. Even as the halfdragon spoke, he knew that his adversaries power was unpredictable, even with their minds connected. Blitz stared back with a gaze of iron hard power. Both of their bodies shone with the heavenly light. As they continued to circle each other, Blitz screamed "this is not over, Sabbath! Neither have won, and perhaps it shall simply stay that way! This will go to the death, be it by the sword or the raw power that now courses through us both!" Sabbath gripped Saverth tighter, his sweaty, blood soaked fingers clutching the hilt harder than ever. "THEN COME PROVE IT!" he bellowed. Blitz drove forward, ramrodding the Supernova sword at his foe with a cry. Sabbath swept Saverth down and knocked the fatal blow away mere seconds before it struck his flesh. They circled again, then let out a warcry, and flew together, their weapons ringing in their ears, a sign of pure destruction. OoC: Well, I was hardly able to follow myself there ... I think that I just took this fight up a few levels. They have both been fed godly powers, and could destroy the land surrounding them with their very temporary might. Perhaps this could be a sign of their equivilance(sp?) ... but whatever. Your move next, buddy. |

Re: Transgression of The Mind (Wielder of The Sword)
So you're saying that whatever happens is up to me? Heh, heh...
You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into. Oh, and I'd like to make this statement--I will not be ascending again for a VERY LONG TIME. If this disappoints you, then I'm sorry. But I've ascended in both of my previous battles, and it's getting rather boring. I'd like a flat-out sword fight for once. Oh, and let's delete these OoC posts after you read this one. I'll go ahead and delete my other one.

Re: Transgression of The Mind (Wielder of The Sword)
Never delete.
I'll fix it, don't worry. Let's just finish the Cloud Castle battle first, then we can get to work on this again. Actually, Keiji is going back to his mom's today, so he won't be able to post (unless his mom finally got a computer). If that happens, we can focus on this, okay? Okay.

Re: Transgression of The Mind (Wielder of The Sword)
No, no, no. I would never let this die. It's too good. It's also great comic-relief. I mean, our characters are forcing themselves to become stupid! XD That's hilarious, especially considering it's the only way they can fight each other.
