Battle at the Castle

Ooc: Anyone

Ic:
Seryth Narovoy, the Phoenix slowly and cautiously watched his footsteps as he walked towards a large- and from the looks of- unforgiving castle. Rain began as a small trickle and soon turned into a full throttled storm, thunder and all. That was why Seryth was here- to be safe (though it seemed safer outside than inside), and dry which he could do in only a few minutes with some hand movements.

The castle that lay before Seryth was large and could be found atop a large hill by a cliff, a general placement of a castle a while back, and was the kind of castle that screamed out forsaken. It was made of large, crudely shapened granite, and the watch tower of it was broken in half. The half most likely fell off that cliff. Bits and pieces were broken off in the archers' towers and long, drenched vines seeped in and out of the cracks.

No matter how menacing the castle looked, though Seryth took off, quick on his feet to escape the rain, soon turning into hail, pounding upon his back. His boots were very wet, the moisutre of the water coming through them. Escaping the trees that once surrounded him, Seryth came to a small door leading into the castle. He slowly turned the knob and looked inside.

It was dark. Very dark, pitch black, in fact. Seryth waved a hand around and instantly a burst of flame arose to light the area up. Before the warrior could notice anything related to eye-work, he noticed an amazingly bad smell. A smell of dead bodies. There was obviously some sort of battle that took place right in this old castle or something of the like.

After getting used to the dead body smell (which was a very hard task), Seryth continued onward. His foot steps were light, however they echoed and resonated throughout the whole of the castle. The floor was prefectly dry and was made out of some type of rock or stone with dirt filling up the gaps between it.

The walls were made out of a solid, rock hard material that Seryth could not identify. Soon, unlit torches lined the walls, so Seryth didn't have to burn his hand anymore. He picked one up, the metal scratching against metal echoing once more inside the castle.

Before long, Seryth had made his way into a large, open room filled with empty knights' armor holding various weapons. The ceiling was very high up and came to a point at the end of it. There were four walkways that could be found in four corners of the expansive room. Seryth decided not to go on and that this would be a fine place to camp out.

Of course, the Phoenix could never be left alone or in peace without some sort of catch. This time the catch was footsteps running across in random places. From his luck, Seryth expected a hardened warrior brandishing a large weapon of some sort waiting to beat the crap out of him. He still had some time, though.

Seryth had barely sat down when the footsteps were heard. Nevertheless, he stood back up instantly and held onto the hilt of the Adaru, in case he needed a quick draw. He looked around and inside all of the doorways. Nothing.

Instantly, a Flesh Keeper came hurtling down as if out of no where to meet Seryth's head. Seryth jumped back in surprise and hurtled his sword towards the Flesh Keeper's stomach. He hit the creature straight in the stomach hardly. It cried out in pain as a large wound with flowing blood formed and it fell to the ground.

"That was it?" Seryth said sarcastically.

Of course it wasn't. That was too easy. Something or someone had obviously heard the Flesh Keeper scream and footsteps now from hard boots or some hard surface were trodden quickly inside one of the rooms. Seryth did not notice for the echoing of the steps made the sound seem as if it came all over the place. With a bit of focus, the sound was strongest coming from the right top corner. He drew the Adaru and awaited his opponent.

Soon, a shadowed figure came out from the doorway, towards Seryth, ready to meet him head-on.

"Back off!" Seryth yelled out. "You will not survive!"

Re: Battle at the Castle

OoC: Okay, I'll use my character, Raven. BTY, where did you get that picture of Seryth?

BiC: Raven saw a warrior facing him, weapon drawn, standing in the middle of the large room. The warrior held a large sword and was unmistakably an older male. The warrior was taller than Raven and Raven knew that this battle wasn't going to be easy.

Raven had come into the castle to seek shelter from the heavy rain outside. He had flew to the castle and was nearly blown off the cliff. He needed to rest, but he wasn't going to find any here with this warrior around.

"Who are you?" asked the warrior. He took a step towards Raven

"Wait a minute," replied Raven. "I don't want any trouble, I'm just here to rest. My names Raven." Raven waited for a responce.

OoC: Sorry its so short but I've got to go now. I might log on again a bit later.

Re: Battle at the Castle

Seryth then decided to pace around to his intruder's reply and then looked back.

"It seems both of us have nothing to occupy our time. Why not a quick spar to make us sleep well tonight?" Seryth said interrogatively.

"Sounds good." Raven replied quickly.

"Then let us draw our weapons, then."

The Phoenix then held the Adaru in front of himself in case his new opponent made a quick, unexpected attack. Before anything could happen, though Raven had already drawn his sword and was running at an amazingly quick pace at Seryth about ready to send his sword plummeting down to his head. Seryth only smiled and cast a strong gaze at Raven, causing him to fall to the ground. He clutched his chest and then stood back up and let go.

"That would be an invisible crystalis in case you are wondering. Don't try breaking it, it won't work." Seryth said hurriedly.

Raven only looked around himself but didn't find anything that could break what was crushing his body. After all, crystal can only break crystal.

Despite his newly attained condition, Raven lifted his sword and slammed it downwards to Seryth's chest. Seryth brought the Adaru up to meet the opposing weapon with a great screeching force which echoed throughout the whole castle it seemed.

Seryth's opponent then ran back and performed a backflip, gaining many feet between himself and Seryth. He drew his long bow and shot an arrow with the greatest of speed. Seryth blocked it and cracked it with the Adaru. Raven shot another, same outcome.

It was now Seryth's turn. He made a run for Raven, but while he did this, Raven discovered the pain surging throughout his whole body. The crystalis was now tightening, beginning to crush his lungs. He breathed in deeply and was back to normal status, though soon it wouldn't be that easy.

While Seryth was in midrun, he sent one of his daggers flying towards Raven with great speed. Raven promptly dropped his bow and unsheathed his sword to block the dagger. It fell down to the ground with a loud clang, but not before chipping off part of Raven's blade. The crystalis was now tightening even more on Raven, he could now feel his lungs beginning to feel pressure . . .

Re: Battle at the Castle

BiC: Seryth kept on running towards Raven, the Adaru in hand. As he ran he got faster and faster, until he was running at a speed so fast he found it hard to stop. He kept on running until he was a couple of metres away from Raven. Then he jumped at Raven and swung his sword at him. But by the time the attack reached the young warrior, Raven fainted and fell to the floor in exhaustion. Seryth dropped his sword and knelt down beside Raven. He held his wrist and looked for a pulse. Raven was still alive but only just. Seryth then stood up and began to walk out of the room.

"Pitiful!" said Seryth walking out of the room. But then he was stopped.

"Where do you think your going?" asked Raven. He had managed to get back up to his feet and held his sword, pointing it at Seryth.

"How are you...?” Seryth was amazed by the will of his opponent. No one had ever got straight up again after he had been crushed by the power of Deshantaru. "Very well. If you wish to continue I will not back down. Seryth grabbed the hilt of his sword and pulled it from its scabbard. Raven was weak but still he didn't want to lose a battle like this.

"If we are going to battle then let’s make it a bit fairer," said Raven. He then walked out of the room back into the room he had come in from. Seryth followed to find a slightly smaller but well lit room. There were several candles on the walls as well as a large chandelier on the ceiling. At the far end of the room there was a fountain built into the wall. Raven was knelling at the fountain, drinking and healing his wounds. Then he got back up to his feet and simply said, "Follow me." He walked through another door into a much larger, taller room where the ceiling was made of class and there was only one other exit at the opposite wall. Seryth didn't follow straight away but instead walked to the fountain and drank from its water so that both warriors were almost fully healthy.

But then Seryth's attention was caught by the door that Raven gone through. A blinding light lit up the doorway and so Seryth walked through into the room. He found Raven floating just above the ground with his bow at the ready and two large, white wings either side of him.

"Lets begin," said Raven as Seryth got ready to fight.

Re: Battle at the Castle

To begin, Seryth sent a full Gyaretto attack flaming towards Raven, reaching to the top of the ceiling. The speed of it was great. Raven tried to find the time to fly above it, though just before he reached the top of the ceiling, his legs were hit, he not getting above the Gyaretto in time. Raven was sent straight to the ground with a loud thud, but got back up in an instant. He held his two legs, yet soon let go.

A loud twang was heard as two arrows were sent hurtling towards Seryth with graet accuracy and force. Seryth's eyes widened as he rolled to the side. It was unfortunate, though for when he rolled he was grazed by one. He grunted in pain, but ignored it and continued to fight.

After both heroes had been hurt, Seryth took his chance to take some of the material he had seen in the castle to perform his Craftsman ability. He then made his own bow and arrows with quick speed, though the bow was somewhat crude. He drew an arrow and with graet speed, he let it go, traveling at great speeds towards Raven.

Good for Raven, he had drawn his sword and cracked the oncoming arrow into to pieces, being unharmed. After he blocked the attack, he countered by flying straight down towards Seryth and used his sword to hack downwards. Seryth brought the Adaru up after dropping his crude bow and blocked the attack with a loud clang. Raven still pressed on, though and pushed his sword. Seryth pushed into Raven's sword as well until both pulled away due to the power of the lock.

Seryth performed a backflip to gain some distance from Raven and performed the Single Gyaretto attack. It missed as Raven jumped to the side and drew his longbow, sending two arrows Seryth's way. Seryth ducked and drew his bow to do the same thing. Same result.

Raven was fast, as was Seryth and both warriors were quite powerful. Raven needed to find some way to get to Seryth. He had only caused a couple cuts, but nothing vital to Seryth's well being. There had to be a way, though he had no idea what that way was. He decided to circle around Seryth to find a weak point, but made sure to attain some defense by holding his sword up valiantly.

There it was! He found it. It was Seryth's waist where his armor wasn't as thick. It was there that he could send a great deal of pain to the Phoenix. Obviously, Seryth was watching, making sure not to let his guard down by dropping his bow once more and holding the Adaru to his chest. Raven smiled and flew downwards with great force to Seryth's waist, though Seryth turned around to block the attack with that same repetitive clang heard twice before then.

Though Raven had found Seryth's weak point, it was hard to hit it, for Seryth knew where it was and made a point to protect it. Raven needed to find a way to get to that point while Seryth was off guard. That was the exact problem, though. He was almost never off guard.

The Phoenix was tired of sitting and waiting so as Raven then flew away from him, he sent another Single Gyaretto headed straight for Raven. Another miss. It seemed that the battle would be a draw unless one of the two warriors did something drastic and unexpected, though the likelyhood of this happening was not very high at all.

Re: Battle at the Castle

Then Raven got an idear. He quickly flew back out the door witch he had come through. Seryth went to follow but only took a few steps before Raven came flying back into the room with something on hid head. He was wearing one of the knight's healmets that were in the large, open room where the two had met. Raven then flew straight up at the ceiling, shattering the glass. Many shards fell to the fllor, one right above Seryth. Raven knew what Seryth would do and flew down at him at incredible speed. Seryth then raised the Adaru to smash the shard of glass above his head. This is when Raven decided to strike. He swung his sword horizontaly at Seryth, slashing his waist. Seryth fell backwards on the floor. He held his waist and then looked at his blood stained hand and smiled.
