Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
-BATTLE OF THE OCEAN OF GLASS-
OOC: This is my first ZU battle, so if I screw up, please let me know. My fighter will be the Pseudo Humanoid Zolf Kadreen (see the link in my sig.) Warning! this battle may contain violence, coarse language, and gore. BiC- Zolf is wandering in a dark, untamed wilderness. Grass coated with dew crunches beneath his feet, and the scent of pine needles wafts in the air. He takes a deep breath, taking in the morning's birth. Strange enough to him, his random shifts didn't usually occur as frequent at this time of the day. He secured his bone saber on the sheath at his side, and started on a trek through the forest. At one point, he reaches a small clearing, where the branches on the trees are snapped partially off, leaving them to hang like executed prisoners that had been forgotten. In the center of the clearing, there was a small fountain, carved from ivory. It was a sight, indeed. It was bordered with carvings of angelic figures that danced without care. Zolf was intriuged, and walked over to the fountain, which was on a matching ivory platform. He stepped onto the platform, and placed his hand in the crisp, cool water that emanated from it's heavenly orifice. As suddenly as the fountain had caught his notice, it seemed to change somehow... It was too late before Zolf realized that the platform was melting, and he fell through into some kind of dark, subterranean cave. He landed on an unstable platform, and nearly fell off. He discovered that he could see through the thing, and realized it was glass. he realized that he was floating, but he refused to touch the substance, because it might prove fatal, like how his parents' lives came to an end. He heard a noise down there with him, and yelled: "Who's there?!" As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he saw the dark liquid was covered in these glass plates, and he was sure he saw someone's silhouette.

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
OOC: This is also one of my first battles so lets see of we can make it work. If you want to see my character go to the character approval board and look under Salocin.
BIC: "It is nice don't you think?" Salocin said as his opponents eyes adjusted to the darkness. "One minute your looking at a wonderfully carved fountain and the next you are in my trap."- Please write some more at the - symbol in your own thread. If I screwed this up message me.

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
OOC-Hahahaha...
![]() BIC- Zolf's whitish eyes glinted in the dark as his vision became clearer. "Your trap, eh?" He drew his bonesaber. "And just who are you, to build a trap for me? I don't even know who you are." Zolf peered off into the darkness, placing his hand on the glass surface, and he heard a strange noise below him. He attempted to jump up, but his pseudo humanoid hand had temporarily merged with the glass, so he was forced back down, and his head struck the glass plate. "Damn it!" He rubbed his head with his free hand in frustration, dropping his bonesaber onto the platform. The bonesaber slid off of the platform, into the murky depths. "GRAH!" Zolf drew a vial with his free hand, and it bubbled over with smoke as he withdrew the cork securing it. "If you wish to fight me, you'll be sadly disappointed to know that I have mastered the power of science, and I will be the one to send you to an even darker place than this."

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
OOC: Damn you're really good with details
BIC: "Right," Salocin replied to his new opponent. "We shall see just how good you are." As soon as he finished the words he lept backward in a large arc and a back flip. When he landed on the ground he had withdraw his bow and was aiming at the creature. "I am going to test you on your agility, strength, and your knowledge of the ages. If you were to somehow pass the tests I will give you a new potion that you have never even heard of." Zolf just stared. He wanted that potion, whatever it was, very badly. "Fine. Test me if you will," but in the back of his mind he was worried. What if his powers woudn't work or didn't work properly. But he needed that potion now, no matter what. "Alright. The first test is agility," Salocin said and he snapped his fingers. A huge gap seemed to spred in between the two combatants. Then a green light showed the gap and the opponents. There were tiny pillars about 7 inches in diameter. "Come to me," Salocin said. He had barely wispered but the sound carried all the way over to Zolf. OOC: Please post soon I should be back later today.

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
OOC- Thanks, hehe.
BIC-Zolf was intrigued by the mysterious bow-wielding figure, and his talk of potions. He felt he was strangely attracted to the thought of possessing the odd concoction Salocin spoke of. He ran a hand through his long purple hair, gazing at the tiny pillars which stood above the fluid. He gripped the vial in his hand firmly between his thumb and forefinger, pondering. he walked towards the edge of the shaky glass platform, towards the pillars. He poured the vial on the blackness before him, and a pillar of ice formed from it. He shakily stepped onto the iceberg, and pulled his stuck hand, and the glass plate attached to it, off of the liquid below. He lifted it easily, now that he wasn't standing on it, and did an agile jump onto the first pillar, holding the plate steadily above him, for balance. Salocin saw that Zolf was coming, and gaining speed. He aimed Shadow directly at Zolf, and fired. Zolf had hidden the translucent plate as he had neared Salocin, and as the the arrow shot through the air at him, he drew the glass plate in front of him, and the arrow shattered upon impact, making a loud crack and sending splinters in all directions, and the plate itself broke in two pieces as the projectile struck. Zolf now held both of the shards, and gained speed as he jumped from one small pillar to the next. "You know, this test reminds me of the obstacle courses of my younger days...only tougher." Zolf grinned as he jumped.

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
OOC: Very interesting way of deflecting the arrow. Cool
BIC: Salocin was surpriseda the speed of whish the boy had withdraw the glass and reflected his arrow. He was...impressed. As the boy (he looked around 19) Salocin thought, was 20 yards away he knocked another arrow and fired. This time he was extremely surprised. He boy had just been about to leap to the next platform when he took another vile and gulped it quickly. He then grabbed the pillar he was leaping from, wrenched it from it's place, and threw it at the oncoming arrow. The arrow splintered but the pillar was racing toward Salocin. Salocin quickly ducked and rolled to the side and when he came up he had the dagger in his hands. He also had just enough time to see his opponent land on his platform.

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
OOC- The 1st Test completed... btw cool pillar attack...this next part is a little far fetched.
BIC- Zolf looked at Salocin, his strange eyes glowing in the dark. "I have passed the first test...I believe I deserve to know your name..." Salocin watched the boy with interest, flicking some dust off of his dark green clothing. He scratched the bottom of his chin as he spoke. "I see...you are much more powerful than I realized...Very well. I am Salocin." Zolf placed his hands on his sides. "And I am Zolf Kadreen....or did you know that? What is this place?" Zolf peered off into the shadowy abyss, seeing buoyant plates of glass swirl around in each other in the vast blackness. Salocin smiled. "This is a forgotten place, made by time, as a sort of...Khrono waste pit...every time someone makes a decision, it creates an alternate route of their life, which could have been travelled. What happens to that path? well, unused time itself is congealed into this matter, and it lays here, unbeknownest to most mortals. You are lucky you didn't fall in...you could have been stuck in a continum for the rest of eternity...The entrance was only meant for those of the sacred order. I found this place, and decided to use it as a place to find a challenge." Zolf nodded slowly, taking this all in, still very confused. "So...you said there were more tests, did you not?"

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
OOC: Very far-fetched but as always cool.
BIC:"You are correct, there are always more challenges in life but here there are only two more," Salocin said." But first your name. "Zolf," he replied quickly and quietly. "Well then Zolf your strength shall be tested now, but not in the way you might think. No amount of potion will hepl you surive through this," Salocin snapped his fingers. One of the floating glass squares floated over next to Salocin facing Zolf. Salocin snapped his fingers again and in the frame Zolf saw Saria. "Wha-?" Zolf said in puzzlement. He saw Saria screaming in pain though not making a noise in the huge space."No. Are you doing this?" Zolf screamed at Salocin. "Watch." Zolf looked at the glass again this time Saria's house was charred and her body was lying on a splintered board. In the center of the carnage was Zolf, staring wide eyed at the destruction he had caused and the loved one he had lost. "Noooooooooooooooooo," he cried has the picture started to change again he dragged himself from the ground, drew back his hand and smashed the glass. He knelt back on the groung silent tears were dripping from his eyes. "Was the hell was that," he said with his voice cracking. "That's what would have happened if you had stayed at the house," Salocin said. OOC: That was kind of long but I think it was pretty good. Also if I misspelled his care givers name. :embrsd:

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
OOC- Her name is Sonia, but that's cool.
BIC- Zolf's breathing quickened, and small tears threatened to break forth from his eyes, his screams dimmed down. It's all false, Zolf...You kept that from happening...it isn't real...you can do this. Zolf's breathing began to slow down, but seeing Sonia like that was too much. Sweat trickled down his back and his hands gripped the platform they were standing upon, he used his ability to morph a chunk of the floor into a perfectly round sphere, and he hurled it at the illusion. The false Sonia's corpse and the Zolf illusion himself broke off into pieces...nothing but another glass plate was showing this, and it's shards sunk back down into the blackness. He rubbed a hand across his face, and sighed. "I am beginning to understand this place...Those plates reflect the unused paths of time, and show the person who looks...the opposite outcome of their most important decision..." Zolf shook with fury as he looked at Salocin. Zolf tossed the two shards of glass he carried with him off of the platform. They struck a floating platform, and it stood up on it's side, and slid over to Salocin, revealing to him the figure of Temon, his archery teacher. He was standing within a building, and he was preparing his bow, as he had heard noises outside. Outside his window, a shadow spirit burst from the well, sending flames in all directions, one flying directly at his window. Suddenly, Salocin saw his younger self break through the back door and call Temon out of there. Temon ran, carrying his bow, and escaped just as the building burst into flames. Temon thanked Salocin, and ran into the center of the square, bow ready to fire at whatever was out here. He saw a Shiekah standing next to a man in green, but he didn't see the shadow creature burst out behind him, and he was lifted off of his feet, and smashed into the side of a building. he was lifted off his feet by the invisible creature again, and slammed into the ground. Salocin's eyes grew wide with anger as he watched, he fell to his knees as he watched as his mentor brutally murdered before his eyes. The final attack of the creature sent Temon hurtling through the air, spinning. His flight was stopped as his body was impaled on a weathervane. he looked down at the young Salocin down below, and uttered farewell through a bleeding mouth, as the rain began to fall. Zolf couldn't see what was going on, but he could tell by watching Salocin that his message was getting across. "That...is why what you did to me was wrong..." He sent another sphere at the glass plate, and shattered it. Salocin pounded his fist into the platform, releasing a scream of his own. "I hope your last test is tough, Salocin..." Zolf's left arm suddenly seemed to liquify, and he looked at it, pleased. "I think I am getting a weak concept on this power shift, thanks to you."

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
OOC: Dude how the heck do you come up with this stuff? Truly awsome.
BIC:Salocin could not beleive he had lost control of himself like that. Since Temon's death he had thought he had come to terms wiht it, but he could not control himself. He did not like showing that weakness to his opponent but he couldn't help it. Seeing it that way had brought back a new wave of pain. Regaining control of himself he said,"There is one final test. More difficult than the first two combined." "I am ready," Zolf replied. "Well then the final test tests your knowledge of the Ages," said Salocin."But you have a time limit." He snapped his fingers a third time and cords shot out and binded Zolf to the floor. He was now on his back when a huge blade came from the ceiling above him. "If you do not answer the questions in the aloted time..." Salocin made a sweeping downward motion with his hand. "Ready?" ha asked. "Do I have a that option right about now?" Zolf asked. "No." "Didn't think so." "First question," Salocin said with impatience,"What, according to all the legends, was the Hero of Time's name?" Zolf thought for a moment. "Link," he said quickly. "Good," Salocin replied,"Next is, what was his faithful companions name?" OOC: If you want you can think up a couple of questions to.

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
OOC-Glad you like my ideas...Aha! a zelda trivia quiz! this will be interesting.
BiC- Zolf stared at the blade hanging from the ceiling, pondering the answer.C'mon...think! What was the ally of the Hero of Time?! Gah, I have not heard too much about this land...it's too far away...and alot less advanced...was it a bird? no no, that wasn't it...the ancient legends say it was something mildly helpful, yet the Hero found in it a strong friendship that led him on another quest...The Great Deku Tree...it gave him something those children in green had...it navigated him through his-- wait a minute, that's it! Zolf looked up at him and confidently spoke one word. "Navi!" Salocin nodded. "Correct, Zolf." Salocin cracked his knuckles as he gave the next question. "What type of instrument is the sacred treasure of the Royal Family?" Zolf racked his brain for the answer. He hadn't heard much of this at all. He thought for more than an hour. He thought of something else that helped him. The Princess, Zelda. Zolf had snuck into the castle a few weeks ago, to get a glimpse of the rumored beauty. He had looked in, and saw the Princess playing a beautiful blue instrument, no bigger than a potato. It's heavenly sound echoed throughout the courtyard, enamoring Zolf. He looked from the castle wall he leaning from to a guard who was also listening. The guard spoke to himself. "Ahh..the way she plays that ocarina..." He sighed. "If only the Princess weren't smitten with that man in the green tunic..." the guard said. Zolf spoke again. "Uhhh...it's an Ocarina?" he winced and waited for the blade to fall.

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
"You are...correct,"Salocin said. He was surprized at the boy's knowledge." Now for the final question but sadly you only have roughly two minutes left, so think fast. Who is The Hero of Time's sworn brother?" How the hell am I supposed to know that? Zolf thought. He had heard legends but very few. Once he had heard that after sving the land of Hyrule he visited his "brother"-
"30 seconds left Zolf, you had better hurry," Salocin said mildly. But the place he had needed to go was blocked because of Goron trouble and their leader was... "5,4,3," said Salocin. "Daruni!" Zolf exclaimed with a second to spare. "One," Salocin said, but the boy had answered in time. He was surprised that he felt...relief. He had not wanted the boy to die. The cords binding Zolf retracted into the darkness and he stood. "I beleive you owe me somethin," he said with sweat dripping down his face. "Yes I do indeed," Salocin replied. He withdrew from inside his tunic a bottle filled with a blue substance like no one has eve seen. You could look through it and at the same time peer it to it's very depths and be mystifyed by it. "It is called the blue potion. It is extremly rare as only a few know how to brew it. If you are ever in dire need it will replenish your health as well as give you one magic power for a short time," Salocin explained. "What is the magic power?" Zolf asked. "It is different for each person but do not test it, only use it when you are in dire straights," Salocin warned. Salocin snapped his fingers and every thing faded in front of Zolf. Zolf woke up on the cool dew filled grass of the forest. Had it all been a deam? Zolf questioned. He reached into his shirt and fell a bottle. It was the blue potion! So where is Salocin? He looked around then a little voice in his ear said. "Untill we meet again," in barely more than a whisper. Zolf spun around expecting to find Salocin standing there but he was alone. Well that wasn't so bad he thought and continued walking through the woods. OOC: Sorry I kind of finished it but you know... Well this was hecka fun and we should do it again some time. Also can more than 2 people fight in a battle- like if you were battling with Zolf and losing could Salocin come to Zolf's rescue? If so pm me if "Zolf" needs help in a battle and Salocin would be there.

Re: Battle of the Ocean of Glass (anyone)
BIC- I must say you did an excellent job...yes, you can have battles that are two-on-two but only if the thread states it at the title...too bad this is over.
