Grasp of Darkness (Master Wolf)

OOC: I swear, if we don’t make this one longer than fifteen posts, I’m gonna pull my hair out. (*Uses Naoru Aurashino*)

BiC: The wind upon Naoru’s face brought pain. Not that pain was something this man (OOC: I will refer to him as “Demon” in this a lot, but he still looks and speaks like a human) really disliked, but nonetheless, he stopped and made himself a shelter from the gale.

“So…” he spoke to himself softly, as the glow of the Tokiyama pulsated. “Tokumaru has entered the Dome, hiding himself from my powers as he gains strength. Humph. Utter folly.” The demon fell back onto his makeshift bed and sighed. “But it doesn’t really matter, now does it, Tokiyama?”

At that moment, the glow around the Tokiyama materialized into a serpent-like creature. “Nnnno……” it sad, curling around its master’s arm. “Na-Oh-Ru…… Iiiiittttt…. Nnnnotttttt maaaaatttterrr aaaaaaa’ttttallllll….” Naoru sent the serpent back to the Tokiyama, and closed his eyes, drifting into a deep sleep.

As he slept, the gale intensified, and the sounds of yet another angry mob came rushing with them. “Slay the Demon!!!” They all yelled. “Slay the Demon!!!” After chanting this numerous times, a lone figure trotted out of the mob holding a long sword. “Do not fret, citizens of Kairos,” he said gallantly, “this Demon shall meet his end here!” A long silence followed, and then the man disappeared unto the woods.

By this time, Naoru had awoken from his sleep. “Ah…” he said, sensing a great power approaching. “So… the mortals have sent someone to deal with me. Heh… No matter. I shall slay them all and feast upon their bones.”

At that very moment, Naoru held up two fingers and caught a dagger that had been thrown from behind him. “Fine then,” the Demon said, “warrior, show yourself.” The man with the longsword jumped out of the trees and stood in front of Naoru.

“Demon,” he said, “I am here to slay you.” Naoru looked at him incredulously.

“All I did was kill a couple of people…”

“Insolence.” Snapped the man with the longsword as he held it out to Naoru. “You murdered a whole quadrant of people, along with the King and Queen of Kairos. Now, I, Tamriff, shall see you dead!”

OOC: Sorry for the shortness!

Re: Grasp of Darkness (Master Wolf)

“So, the gallant warrior, taking pity on the people, has come to slay the evil demon and bring peace to the land,” Naoru said sarcastically.

“I wasn’t sent by them, demon,” Tamriff spat. “This is purely a personal matter.”

“Oh, really? And what matter would that be?”

Tamriff fought to control his anger as he gazed at the murderer. “That quadrant you destroyed,” he spat through gritted teeth, “Just happened to contain my parents. The parents whom I had been searching for the last four years.” Tears were coming from his eyes now. “All that time, I thought they were still alive… and you destroyed that hope. For that, you must die.”

Naoru spread his arms. “Very well,” he sighed. “Come on. Plunge that sword into my heart. Cut off my head, and show it off to the people if you wish. You will be their hero, and your parent’s death will be avenged.”

“I am no coward. If I am to kill you, it will be in a fair fight.”

A shadow of a smile played along the demon’s lips. “You will regret your decision soon, human,” he said as he got up and unsheathed a long purple sword crackling with Dark magic.

Tamriff’s eyes widened at the sight of the Tokiyama. He felt a pang of fear in his stomach, but forced himself not to show it.

“Shall we begin?” the demon asked coolly.

Tamriff said nothing, his eyes on his opponent.

Re: Grasp of Darkness (Master Wolf)

OOC: This aught to be fun! BA WARNING: Foul Language/Gore

BiC: Naoru stood in the harsh wind, staring into the eyes of Tamriff. “Such folly…” he said, playing childishly around with the Tokiyama. “Your parents… hmm…. Quite an appeasing slaughter…”

Tamriff’s emotions rose to a fever pitch, and he clenched the hilt of his sword with bravery. “B…B-astard! They died for no reason! Why the hell would you kill them?!? For pleasure?!? Does it please you to see the blood of humans scattered across the ground? Answer me!” At this moment, anger flooded from Tamriff, and his eyes were imbued with hatred; all of it was focused upon the Demon.

Naoru chuckled loudly. “Foolish boy…” he said, readying the Tokiyama in his kata stance, “I shall teach you how heartless battle can be. I kill for the sole purpose of gaining greater power. Your foolish parents had none! Nothing! Until I regain the power I lost when giving that pathetic fool Hanshin a fragment of my energies, I can do nothing but slaughter until I find someone of absolute strength!” At this point, the Demon’s Demonic Aura had increased to a maleficent level. “And I will continue my slaughter for power, starting with you, Tamriff! Now, Die!”

Naoru rushed in with the Tokiyama and forcefully thrust it at Tamriff, who’s anger had led him off guard. In quick retaliation, Tamriff swung around quickly until his back was facing Naoru’s back, and then, he flipped backwards, using Naoru’s shoulder as support, and landed in front of the Demon. “YAH!!!” Tamriff held his longsword taught, and entered a swordfight with Naoru; Swashbuckling Style.

The blades clinked together with the sound of metal, and, of all things, Naoru yawned. “You are boring me, young one. Please, a good slaughter doesn’t come cheaply. Give me all that you have!” At that moment, Tamriff’s Longsword and the Tokiyama entered a deadlock. Sparks were sent flying everywhere in a dazzling array of light that resembled the welding of a sword.

As Tamriff pushed harder and took the deadlock’s advantage, he looked deep into Naoru’s eyes. This passion, this sole duty to win… Why did Naoru persevere so much to win this fihgt? What good was power if he had already slaughtered all those to test it upon? “Demon…” he said, “No… Naoru… I can see it in your eyes… You were human once…” Naoru sneered at the man, and took back the deadlock’s advantage.

“Fool…” He said, thinking back at his childhood. “I was born from the Mage Demons and the Warrior Demons. Or at least… that’s what I thought…” Naoru backflipped from the Deadlock and landed a few feet away. “I was once a human, yes… In a previous life. I was a human who studied the Dark Arts, and then realized how the worked. But when I died, my soul chose to inhabit the lifeless shell of a baby that was doomed to die prematurely inside its mother’s womb. My high-level dark energies gave the fetus its life, and I was then born again, as a true Demon.”

Tamriff thought about it, but his mind was too riddled with anger to focus. His sole objective now was to kill Naoru and avenge his parents. (OOC: “His” being Tamriff’s) “Die, Demon!” yelled Tamriff as he rushed towards Naoru and, much to his surprise, stabbed him through the heart.

As the Demon fell to the ground in silence, Tamriff paused. “Wait…” he said, sensing a dark aura approaching him at astronomical speeds. Just as the warrior turned around, a Dark blade went straight through his left shoulder.

“Imbecile…” Said Naoru, who was holding the blade.

Tamriff fell to the ground slowly as Naoru pulled the Tokiyama from his shoulder. “Damn you…” the warrior said. “Such… cheap… subterfuge…”

The warrior lay lifeless in his own blood, now on the verge of defeat. Naoru raised his hand towards Tamriff, and called upon the Oni-Garandou. “Now… Tamriff…. Become one with me!”

OOC: Oh dear, how will he get out of this one?

Re: Grasp of Darkness (Master Wolf)

Tamriff could not feel his head. Nor his body, for that matter. The world was absent of any feeling. He could only lie in his own blood, see the Oni-Gar growing, and await the end.

At least I died trying, Tamriff thought as he felt himself going. Mom, Dad… I'm sorry.

Then he felt something in the earth under him; a small thump, thump, thump. Probably just a rabbit, thumping around in its hole.

A rabbit… "That's it!" Cried Tamriff. Quickly, he spun himself onto his stomach and excavated a large hole of earth from beneath him and peered at what remained. As he'd thought, a frightened-looking rabbit stared back at him. Without a second thought, he grabbed it by the ears and threw it at Naoru. The demon did not flinch.

"Fool," he sneered at Tamriff. "Do you think you can distract me? The Oni-Gar is almost ready!" He gestured to the large cosmic hole growing above the two warriors. Tamriff chose not to respond and whispered, "Heal". A soothing mud spread over his wounds. He prayer his hunch would be correct.

"Now," repeated Naoru, "become one with me!" The void swirled faster, and started to suck in everything. Even Tamriff.

Crap, thought Tamriff. He felt himself lifted from the ground... but at the same time pulled into it. He spared a glance to his sides, and saw he was slowly sinking into the earth.

"How could this be?" raged Naoru. The demon increased his concentration, and the Oni-Gar began to suck up the wildlife around the two fighters. Still Tamriff did not budge.

Naoru lost his concentration and rushed to Tamriff, drawing his sword as he went. The Earth's hold broke on the young man broke as soon as the Oni-Gar dissapeared, and by the time the demon had made three steps towards his opponnent the latter had already dissapeared into the nearby trees.

OoC: :p

Re: Grasp of Darkness (Master Wolf)

OOC:

BiC: Naoru’s face was full of anger. His prey had escaped. “Such cheap subterfuge…” He said, quoting Tamriff, “Those were your words, were they not?” Naoru drove the Tokiyama into the ground as the dark aura around him soared into the blade. “What folly…” In a flash of darkness, Naoru disappeared, and the Tokiyama rose from the ground and rushed into the forest; not one person was wielding it.

* * *

Tamriff stopped to a dead halt and began to breathe heavily; sweat coming off of his face like buckets. “Heh…” he said cockily, sheathing his longsword as he walked away from the battle. “Look’s like I escaped the Demon…” a look of remorse quickly embodied his pale face. “But still… my parents are not avenged.” He continued to walk in his sorrow. The Demon had taken all that was important to him, all that he had worked so hard to get. (OOC: Que CD player starting to play: “In the End”)

Tamriff walked out into a large open field, and it started to rain torrentially. Every drop of rain that landed on his body felt like one hundred tons being added onto his melancholy sorrow. Soon, the rain entered a typhoon-ish cycle, and Tamriff realized that the rain was becoming abnormal. “Someone else is causing this…” He said nervously.

At that moment, the Tokiyama flew down from the skies and landed in front of Tamriff forcefully, causing a dark, visible shockwave to emit from the ground. “Wh, what is this?!?” Yelled Tamriff as a dark aura began to come out from the sword, taking on the shape of a man.

“Ha, ha, ha!” Yelled a voice. “I wish to create a world upon the blood of men1 A world in which I rule! And do you know what, Tamriff? I must destroy in order to create!!!” The aura materialized, revealing the Demonic Warrior, Naoru. Tamriff stood in his spot, rain pouring down like mad, as he unsheathed his blade for the continuation to a monumental battle.

OOC: I’m in a mega rush here, sorry for the shortness.
