Depths of Hell (Open)

The sun was set high in the skies, its rays beating down on an empty desert. A sea of sand stretching out as far as the eye could see, which had no remorse for those who faced against it.

...Mother Nature was her cruelest here.

And yet in this death trap, there was a speck of life. A miracle which flourished even in an area so barren. As the trees and shrubs brought color, it also brought refuge. As the basin brought water, it also retained life. The sands may have proved fatal, but this gave hope.

...And this is where one man waited.

The tan cloak masking his appearance was tattered perfusively, but still provided him protection from the sands, as well as the blazing star above. The winds weren't kind to him, but he continued to percivere as he gazed into the horizon.

...The seconds seemed like hours.

There was no sign of movement from him until something caught his attention. Something moving in the distance. His eyes growing wider...in hopes it was that which he was waiting for.

OoC: Read up on Junai before you post, it'll make for a better fight in the end.

Re: Depths of Hell (Open)

OOC: Hey, I'll be using Darian, here is the link.

BIC:

He walked through the thick humid air of the desert. A figure came into view, it looked humanoid, and as he walked closer he realised it was a familar face...a face he hadn't seen in a long time, although he couldn't put a name to that face. Darian marched onwards, the opposite man kept walking in his direction. Nothing was said, it was silent. All that could be heard was the intense winds, flying about on express routes it's forefathers had made decades before.

'...' Darian's mind was blank, it was concentrating on one thing, who was in front of him. He kept the same look on his face, a serious one. He didn't want to seem weak enough to be killed. After all, in a desert like this, anyone could be wanting to attack him. The wind was extremely vigorous, Darian ignored it though. His long brown hair fluttered in it. They were getting closer now.

Although he could not see the man's face clearly, it still looked so familiar, it was beginning to frustrate Darian.

Darian had a weapon holstered round his back, it was a six feet long Obsidian Greatsword. Its mightyness made itself clear. They kept on walking, as if they didn't notice each other were there.

Re: Depths of Hell (Open)

One foot after the other, each step moving farther away from the last. The leather of his boots skiffed across the desert sand, but the sound could not escape the howling winds encompassing the two of them.

As the two came face-to-face, he looked into the eyes of the man standing before him. There was a resemblance of some sort he couldn't quite pick off, but it was of no consequence in his mind.

For now...

He waited patiently for a break in the winds, and when the gods answered his prayer, breaking the silence between the two of them was made quite easy. "So, young warrior..." A brief pause set into motion. A hand crawled out from the tattered cloak, latching at the seams. A simple pull and the garment was pulled away, tossed into the air and caught by the returning wind.

Dust settled once more, and this once shrouded figure was revealed for his true form.

It was an astonishing sight. A being draped in so much black, and yet not a drop of sweat beaded on his body. Wings set arched behind him, their colors shining vibrantly in the sunlight, as did the weapons at his side. He stared at the young man in front of him once again, ready to speak on his own behalf.
"...what exactly do you want of me?"

Re: Depths of Hell (Open)

Darian arched his eyebrow, not that he was showing he wasn't scared, but because now it was unfolding how familar he really was. Darian looked to the scar on his right arm, these two had met before, he was sure of it. He knew this was a powerful figure, maybe he should challenge him, after all. It would be a challenge. Darian knew there was nothing to throw off of him to make him look as powerful as the winged being standing opposite him. He stood there, and tried to respond to the question that was said with no real emotion, a clever technique. Then it was unravelled why he was really here.

"I remember asking someone to a fight, in the middle of this here...lush paradise. But it doesn't seem like he's showed up." He said. He knew it was him, he was just seeing what the response would be, maybe he shouldn't have been messing around with such a powerful person.

"Ah...here he is, standing...right...infront...of...me." He said, with a stern look on his face, a smirk came onto it. "So I guess you accepted." He then looked to the sun, which was blazing through the intense winds. "Is there a prize to this?" He drew out his sword, a long, shimmering Obsidian metallic beast. It's quality spoke for itself. The green jewels embedded in the middle of it reflected from the beautiful sunlight. He stuck the sword in the sand infront of him. The man's face stayed the same, still staring Darian in the face. Darian had gotten himself into something he shouldn't have, he just didn't know it yet. The man looked at the scar on Darian's arm, that seemed familar too.
