A quest for knowledge (Omega Star)
**Ok, finally kinda got it together. As you know I'll be using Jam, (she's in my sig) and I'm kinda gonna go with your idea, but we can see what happens.**
A tall, forgotten relic of man's integrity loomed just in front of the tall girl. Jam sized up the building, her favorite type of man made walls, a library. She was intent upon finding more of what she sought, her precious poetry. So much that could be in their she thought. Jam skipped up the stairs, and nearly bursting through the wooden double-doors. She was bedazzled by the scores of high standing shelves, all frothing with her precious wants. Something must be here Suddenly Jam whipped around. She looked suprisingly up to the second floor. Amidst the rows, a young man was thumbing through an ancient text. Curious, Jam felt her way through the rows, to the stairs, and then up to the young man. Her innate senses tingled. She knew something was not as it seemed about this young man. The man ignored Jam, as she prodded around him, trying to get a peek of the text. Inadvertantly dodging her gaze, Jam became enthralled with finding out more that the book kept. Perhaps, more poems. Let's investigate Jam whispered to herself. **Ok, i really left it way open, so yeah.** |

Re: A quest for knowledge (Omega Star)
Grey thumbed through the arenose tomb searching for answers to questions he shouldn’t have asked.
I must find it. …I will fly By his bloodshot eyes, it looked as though he hadn’t slept in days…but it was more like months. He had scoured the libraries and archives of every town he passed through. Each one left him with more questions and fewer answers. Now he studied in the stillness of this library. “Empty” Grey mused “, just like all the others. So few mortals seek the power of knowledge.” Just then something caught Grey’s attention, the smell of parchment. Not musty like the ancient grimoires he was reading, but fresh and crisp. He turned away from his reading, and saw a young mortal woman. She seemed very intent on reading the cover title of the book. An acolyte of the ancient dragons in a musty library late at night reading an ancient book of sorcery wasn’t exactly the name he wanted to make for himself in the world of men. The mortals will fear I am plotting something…and what will the other dragons say! “Look everyone. There goes Grey, the failure!! Grey panicked. The lack of sleep and food had made him paranoid. He jumped quickly to his feet, tucked the book under his arm, and ran past the mortal girl almost knocking her down. Dashing down the long corridors of books, Grey searched for a way out. |

Re: A quest for knowledge (Omega Star)
As the young man fled down the dusty path intervening betwixt the multitude of book shelves, a trail of misty dust flared from his escape. Jame hurridely scribed upon her parchment, the ink gliding unto the smooth paper. Sending the worded decree from her hand, to the air and levitating, a light framed around the paper. Jam spoke in an ambient, echoing voice:
From strong Patroclus' hand the jav'lin fled* The words blazed to life upon the parchment. Through the shimmering light, a long, black metal rod soared from the paper. A seven inch serrated spike tipped the end of the shaft. Tearing into the air, the speeding barb neared Grey. And with a loud crack, the fatal contraption hit home, pinning Grey into a nearby shelf. Hastily, Jam made her way to her captured prey. Clearly speaking to herself, Jam's voice echoed her running thoughts Unknown to me are the contents of my Sought after item, he so holds to his Breast, a tome of desire it seems to be The tranquil, but startled man examined his infliction. The wicked barb had merely spoiled his garments, a trifle effect. Jam, still conversing with herself, approached the downed man. Once again, her voice lifted as did the parchment Of dead leaves stuck together by the heat** A tornado of browned and blackened leaves swirled from the paper and clouded onto Grey. Encompassing all but Grey's head and arm holding the book, they seemed to melt to his body. With a polite, girlish voice, Jam spoke So, whatcha' readin'? *--Alexander Pope, The Iliad of Homer, 16.566 **--Frost, "Hyla Brook", 11 |
