Rustling in the Woods

Ooc: Don't know if anyone wants to fight. I'll just post this to show you guys what kind of battling I can do. If anyone wants to battle then, by all means, engage with me. I'll be waiting....


Ayden dashed through the viney thickets of Melodia Forest. He panted heavily and his heart raced, outrunning his legs. "Crap!" He paced towards the outskirts of the woods and spun to face his pursuer.

No one was there.

"Huh?" He gazed at the branches that fenced against each other. The sweeping wind swirled around the area, dancing around Ayden who had taken a stance. "Come out, wherever you are!!" His voice echoed off the tree's limbs and against the greenery.

He lowered his guard, momentarily. Then, in an abrupt manner, a rustling reverse his attention behind him to a lunging lizardman above the bushes.

"Die!!" It raised its axe above its head in a flexible motion. Downward travelled its blade almost instantly.

A cloud of earthy smoke erupted from the shattered ground beneath the axeblade. The reptilian beast grimaced. It had missed its target. Searching the scenery, its yellow eyes could find no image of reference. "Damn!" It retorted as it drew its axe from the earth.

"Over here!" An admonishing voice threw words at the back of its head. The lizardman spun to face the snowy-haired boy again. "Heh, I thought I lost you for a second there." Ayden smiled confidently.

"I won't miss this time!" The foe threatened as it readied its arms. It rushed him, suddenly, an audible battle cry hanging from its scaly lips. "Axe of Reptiles, taste his flesh!!" Thereafter, it executed a horizontal slice with the axe. With a expression of surprise, the lizardman realized that he'd missed again.

Ayden fell from the sky above him, like a seraph racing from the heavens to judge the fiendish and cruel. "Your time is up!!" he cried. He chanted a short verse of a mild wind spell. "Blades of air, come forth like the wind!! Sword style, BLUE STORM!!!" He stabbed downward at his enemy, slicing him in two. A small tempest followed, which skewered the remaining flesh with its ripping winds.

A foul shriek followed, then died along with its creator. Ayden stood from his landing spot and gazed at the defeated enemy. "There should be others. I'd better hurry to Tirk."

His race continued.

FFFFWWWWWIIIIIPPPP!!!!!!!!!!

An arrow embedded itself half its length in a tree inches from Ayden's face and the young Hylilian hit the ground and rolled.

Two more arrows hit the ground where the boy was only seconds before.
He lept up, sword in hand to find himself looking at a tall elf plainly clad and holding a powerful looking long bow.

"Name's Starfire, impressive speed and foresight, i must say. Wanna go?" The veteren elf took out to wicked blades and placed them on his arms...

OoC: Hey there. Sure I'll fight you.

IC:

"Sure, I never back down from a challenge." He smiled confidently. He relinquished his blade from his sheath and pointed its end at Starfire.

"You can make the first move." He smirked, but reconsidered after examining the wicked blades that his foe wielded. "Err....maybe I'll go. Besides, you tried to pin me against a tree anyway."

He sprinted at Starfire quickly and changed direction a few feet away. He streaked towards an enshrining tree and leapt off the side, spitting bark from it. He relaxed his arm until within range, then he raised it and slashed downward. "Better hurry up and move!!"

The sparkling blade came streaking down onto the strange elf's shoulder, but he was no longer there. The marvelous blade, Utopia, came biting down into a log the elf was standing on.
WAAPP!!!!
The powerful warrior struck out with his elbow and connected in the young Hyliain's face and suddenly was ten feet away, his longbow disappereared and replaced with two sickle moon blades clasped onto his long arms.
"If I wanted to kill you I would have, I spared you because you have some skill. Now, come at me again. Take your time though, youre nose is bleeding." Starfire quietly mocked...

Ayden doddled after receiving the blow. "Damn..." He wiped the blood from his nose and clutched his sword handle again. "I won't miss this time!" He chraged again, but this time he chanted his famed incantation. "Sparkling winds, I call upon thee."

His eyes shone, as well as his blade. A swirling barrier of twinkling wind enshrined Utopia. He rang out,"Sword style, Seraph Feathers!!!!"

A stronger gust of wind draped his blade. He unleashed its fury in a quick slash at Starfire. A spinning cyclone slid via the tip of the blade, shining vividly, almost blinding.

Starfire crossed his arms in front of him in a warding gesture and waited unitl the last second...
He sprung forward into the eye of the gust of slashing winds and beat away the blade of wind power and struck with his own moon blades and felt his battle scarred blades slash Ayden's exposed chest. The wind immediately abated as the summoner stumbled back a pace, surprised by the ferocity of the strike.
Starfire stood upright, seemingly unhurt, but his tunic cut in many places where the unmerciful winds had seared his tough skin.
"You call that magic? This is magic!" Starfire erupted in a strange Green Fire and, focusing in in his magnificent blades, lept forward into a terrifying slash only to find a sword point slice open his back.

Ayden saw the attack coming and lept forward into a spinning leap and struck down into a blind slash and was rewarded with an agonizing grunt. Ayden landed into a crouch and began to turn around but a fist struck the back of his head and forced his face into the loam of the woods underfoot. Stars exploded in Ayden's vision as he fought to remain concious and to keep fighting...

He shook away the daze that overcome him momentarily, and readied himself again. He bursted at Starfire and executed an upward slash. Starfire nimbly dodged it and contered with a backslap against Ayden's face. It startled him, causing him to stumble recklessly. "Wow...your good." He said as he rubbed his cheek. "I don't think I've had such a hard time before." He smiled. "This is getting good."

"Now it's my turn!" He focused his aura into his blade, energizing it for a ferious strike. "Heh.." He vanished from his position and reappeared behind him. "Sweet dreams." He whacked his opponent with the butt of his sword, striking a devastating blow to his head. Ayden watched him stumble in agony and commented. "Sorry, it was a cheap blow, but I had to hit you sometime." He smiled jokingly.

Blood poured from the wound on the back of Starfire's head as he stuggled against the darkness. He felt himself slowly slipping away...slowly...

Ayden leaned over Starfire's prostrate body, but was suddenly thrown backward by a sudden upsurge of green elvish fire that burst from the fallen elf's body. Starfire's body was lifted up, as if on strings, and set up standing. Ayden watched in amazement as the gash on Starfire's head closed up and the supposed fallen warrior picked up his formidable moon blades, turned around and took his stance.

"Nice try, but not nice...ENOUGH!!!" Starfire lunged forward with an alarming spped and took Ayden by surprise. He puncuated the last word by slamming his elbow into the shocked Hylian's face. Ayden felt his nose break as he flew back into a pine tree, which collapsed on top of him.

"TEMPEST SLASH!" The tree burst open revealing a very much angered warrior. He looked all the part of an enraged warrior, with blood streaming down his face and his magnificent sword glowing with a magnificent blue.

"Looks like this could be fun," Starfire cracked his neck and dashed forward.

The two enraged warriors clashed with a massive magic shockwave and began trading blows in a merciless fashion.

Ayden dodged one swiped, which was followed closely by another. The constant barrage kept him on his toes and tested his reflexes. Ducking, then flipping, rolling, then sidestepping. He eventually escaped Starfire's range of attacks.

"Whew, that was close." He chuckled. Starfire's stern expression projected a glare. Ayden, taken aback by the stare, treaded further from his foe. "Whoa....I guess you ARE serious."

He clasped his sword and positioned himself for an attack. Suddenly, Starfire appeared in front of him and laid a fist in his face. "Ack!" Ayden teetered backwards, overcoming the brunt of the assault.

ooc: this is only my 2nd battle here but i used to write stories and RPG w/ my friends all the time.

Ayden's foot slipped upward and he fell on his back as Starfire lunged at him. The grounded warrior kicked upward instictively and sent the elf flying. Starfire landed in a skillful roll and sprung up onto Ayden's blade. He felt it enter his shoulder and slice to the bone. Regardless of pain, the persistant elf spun into a whirlwind slash and cut deeply into Ayden's chest and left arm. The magnificent sword was wrenched from Ayden's grasp, still embedded in Starfire's bloody shoulder.

His life blood seeped quickly out of the gash in his chest and Ayden staggered down to the ground. His vision grew blurry as a strange green glow filled his vision a second before he blacked out...

He woke up seconds later surrounded by a green aura. His chest felt as good as new and he stood up with no soreness. Starfire stood in front of him glowing, as his shoulder closed up.

Starfire threw Utopia back to Ayden and cracked his neck again. "this is beginning to get interesting and there was no way id let this end like that."

Ayden caught the powerful sword in one hand and twirled it expertly. He then took a stance and braced himself against what he knew was about to come...

Another lunge drew his attention. Ayden crouched until his opponent was close. "Ha! This battles just beginning." The spinning moonblades twirled at him. Instinctively, he skidded backwards and used a nearby tree as bulwark to execute a nimble somersault. He had successfully dodged the attack and leaped at Starfire. He cried,"Whirlwind Hit!!" Slashing down, he barely sliced him, who had sidestepped to escape the bulk of the blow.

Next, he leapt into the air and plunged at him from the sky. Starfire braced himself for the clash below. Ching! The swords met with a thundering clash. The vibration pulsated through the two warriors as they exchanged further assault, each scathing the other until the two doddered of exhaustion.

Panting, Ayden eyed his enemy. "So...eh...why do you insist to fight me, Starfire? What reasons do you have?"

"If you insist..." Starfire jumped at the hylian and began pounding with his magnificent moon blades.

"I got bored and I saw and heard what you did to that reptile-man and thought id have a little FUN!!" He punctuated the last word with a flawless upward slash and tore deep into Ayden's left arm, for the crafty Hylian tried to parry to one side.

Starfire took a step back into the deep night shadows that were all around. Ayden suddenly realized that the sun, which had been high in the sky when the fight started, had disappeared and was replaced with the darkness of a starry night.

"Like my little trick?" Starfire's voice came from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Ayden looked around, visibly worried for he had lost sight of his elusive foe.

RRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!! The keen blade sliced deep into Ayden's back and tore his tunic from his back. The scabbard on Ayden's back saved the life of the young hylian,though, for it softened the blow and slowed the blade enough so the damage was not as bad as it could have been.

Ayden fell forward onto his face, rolled over and started to rise but found himself staring into an arrow, pulled taught back onto the elvish bow.

"Your move, Hylian..."

"Your move, Hylian...." said Starfire, confidently. He aimed an out-stretched arrow at him with a menacing smile.

Ayden sighed. This was a predicament indeed. He was helpless. "So...you saw me and the previous fight, and decided to challenge me, is that it?" His expression stressed to one of disappointment. "You seem to be a strong opponent, but your motives aren't in the right place." He pointed Utopia outward with an admonishing glare shimmering from the influence of the moonlight.

"My move is made, Starfire...." He retorted. His new stance created a new wind that formulated around him. As faint as it was, Starfire could sense an unfamiliar power radiating from the blue-hued steel.

Maybe this new trick will work....

Starfire could feel the magic being focused into the glittering katana, so he released the large arrow straight toward Ayden's heart. The arrow was in mid-flight when the blade suddenly exploded with blue light and a huge wind came and blew the arrow away like a leaf caught in a gale.

"Well, well, well, you've been holding out on me." Starfire remarked as he notched another arrow to his long bow. "Do that again!" Starfire fired another arrow and again the blade glowed a deep blue. The wind picked up and blew the arrow off course, but Starfire expected Ayden to do this. He leaped forward while Ayden's concentration was still on the wind magic and brought his blades to bear, they almost seemed to glow with anticipation as the distance between the two got very small...

Ayden's concentration was broken as Starfire leaped at him. His shining moonblades crashed into his summoned gale with a furious roar. Starfire's momentum kept him afloat as he clashed with the bulwark tempest.

"Agh..." Ayden's wind energy was diminishing as Starfire fought the ripping winds of the Utopia. "Damn!" Ayden released his focused energy and dropped the swirling wall, which gave Starfire the opportunity to strike.

His moonblades gleamed as they impaled through Ayden's shoulder as he fell with recoil. Ayden counteractted with a sturdy kick to the face, sending his adversary a distance away.

As Starfire stood, Ayden beckon another gentle wind to soothe his injury. It abated shortly, mending his scar.

"Neat trick," Starfire remarked as he licked the blood flowing from his lip. "You control the wind with the skill of a Wind Waker but your skill with the blade you bear is that of a true warrior. You have great magic within you, but do you have magic enough to fight the stars?" Starfire dropped his gaze and muttered something in Old Elvish.

The strange, unnatural night went suddenly black but for a single bright star. Ayden felt the hairs on his body stand on end as the dot grew brighter and brighter until it filled the whole sky.

Starfire looked up at Ayden and his eyes glowed green with magic, "Star-Slam..."

The huge Star responded to the elf magician's words and dropped like a stone right on top of Ayden...
