A Shot in the Dark (random)

ooc: There seems to be a lack of battles at the moment, so I'll try and alleviate that issue. I shall be using my new character, Tarhedron.

bic: The night was dark. Tarhedron knew that this world's moon was in the sky, as he had seen it earlier. It was now, however, hidden behind a large thunderstorm that had rolled in overhead, letting down a good amount of rain upon him. The occasional lightning flashes wreaked havoc upon his helmet sensors, since they were adjusted for night vision. This bothered him.

What bothered him even more was that he knew someone was following, and he could not spot them. Tarhedron was used to people following him, trying to wait for him to tire, so that they could sneak up and steal his very expensive looking equipment. Unfortunately for them, he always noticed this, and removed the presence, once they made their move. This was different though.

Tarhedron stopped. Another flash of lightning blinded him for a second, and he turned as his vision returned. A quick survey of the landscape showed there to be a few large trees near the gravel path he was travelling, but apart from that, an open plain for several miles in every direction. He directed his attention to where he had come from, and spoke, his voice amplified by the helm hiding his face. "Show yourself!" He called out. At that moment, another flash of lightning illuminated his form, clearly revealing the tall, lithe form, and the staff held at ready by his side.

Re: A Shot in the Dark (random)

ooc: Ok, Kokori, here's my character you'll be fighting, Greg!

bic: It was none other than Greg Korvain, ruthless assassian and most wanted on Earth. He however, was here on this strange planet and just saw this strange local, with his staff raised.

'Heh, so you finaly found me eh? Now just give me some of that equipment and we'll be just fine,'Greg had said.

'God, you human, always the same greedy type. Well, I'm not gonna let you even go anywhere, nor live!' With that, the strange character sent some weird blast after Greg, who luckily doged it. The blast then his a nearby tree, setting it on fire.

'Fight magic, with magic,' Greg had said. He then cast Lightning magic on him, he however doged it at a very fast pace. No one could dodge his magic, no one.

'What is you name, strange person,' Greg had asked.

'It's Tarhedron and I'm space elf. Why,' Tarhedron asked Greg.

'Just wanted to know who my victims were and their name, it helps me give good memories,' Greg had said in a bit of happy tone.

'Well then, theif, this'll be your last memory!' Tarhedron then charged twords Greg, who had just pulled out his katana. How would this go,Greg wondered, he never met a foe like him before...

Re: A Shot in the Dark (random)

ooc: A quick thought... the "space elf" reference was do give people an understanding without reading the massive thing I linked to. Eldar would be the race. And in case you're wondering, "mon-keigh" is the term Eldar use in reference to most humans.

bic: Tarhedron scanned his opponent using the sensors in his helm, and found the mon-keigh to be armed with multiple firearms. I'll have to be mindful of that, he thought.

Greg mistook the momentary pause for scanning as an opportunity to attack, and he came in low and fast. Just as his swing was about to hit home, Tarhedron suddenly swung his staff and hit Greg across the cheek with the upper end of it, creating a satsifying thud, and knocking him back. He staggered back, holding his cheek. This guy's fast! he thought to himself, But let's see if he can dodge bullets!

Tarhedron watched the mon-keigh closely, and considered how to best end these pointless assaults. The it put his sword away suddenly, and Tarhedron felt before he saw him reach for his guns. To allow the mon-keigh to feel powerful, he waited for the two red weapons to be removed from their holsters. The mon-keigh growled something about eating lead, and began to fire. The bullets were inaccurate, Tarhedron noted, as he raised a psionic shield in front of him. A few bullets broke through, and struck his body armor, which made several metalic pangs. As the bullets continued to fling towards him, he felt several more break through the barrier, and one struck the hip joint of his left leg. A bit of crimson blood oozed out of a small hole formed there.

Tarhedron's wraithbone chestpiece began to glow brightly, and he called out "Cease this!" With that, he channeled a bit of his mental power through his rune staff, and forced both of the mon-keigh's firearms away, clattering on the ground about 6 meters back.

Re: A Shot in the Dark (random)

ooc:Wel KK, I'm ready to battle! And yeah, I'll use Eldar and mon-keigh.

bic:'Hmm, your pretty good,' Greg had said to Tarhedron. Greg then made a quick dash to pick up his Uzi's but was then met with a flash of light from his staff. He was then thrown onto the grond and couldn't get up for a few seconds.

'I'll remember not to turn my back on you,' Greg whispered

'Mon-keigh, come battle at me with your sword, coward,' Tarhedron yelled with his staff raised.

'The...name..is..Greg..' With that, Greg than pulled out his katana and made a mad dash to him. Tarhedron then doged it.

'Well young Eldar, can you doge lightning?' With that, Greg cast a lighitning spell. A quick lightning bolt then shot at Tarhedron and shocked him. He seemed to be a bit paralized, but then shook it off.

'Silly mon-keigh,' Tarhedron whispered.

'Well, that was just a warm-up of things to come.' With that, Greg then mumbeld a few words under his breath and there was a yellow glow around him. Tarhedron mearly smirked, thinking that the mon-keigh known as Greg would produce a powerful attack.

Re: A Shot in the Dark (random)

Knowing that there was probably a powerful attack coming, Tarhedron stood still, and waited. The mon-keigh called 'Greg' charged forward, katana drawn and glowing, and still Tarhedron remained unmoved. Greg uttered some sort of war cry, and slashed his blade up at Tarhedron's head. Greg felt the sword hit home, but...

...There was something wrong. He did not hear any outburst of pain, or any other sign of a hit upon a person. It took him a split second to realize that his opponent had angled his head slightly, and the sword had slammed into the side of the helmet, creating a small crack, where his sword seemed to be stuck. "Maybe you should try and feint an attack occasionally, mon-keigh," Tarhedron sneered at him, and withdrew his own sword from its scabbard affixed to his back, and swung it around in one fluid motion. Greg released his sword, and dove away from the blade-which stopped before it reached where he had been standing.

Damn! Greg thought, and made a dash for his uzis. He retrieved them, without being attacked, and turned to see Tarhedron effortlessly remove the sword from his helmet, and hold it in his left hand. The staff was floating off to the side, so apparently Tarhedron had some sort of telekinesis.

The eldar slowly advanced toward him, both swords pointing down at about a 45* angle to the ground. A bolt of lightning struck a mile behind Tarhedron, and it made him look even more menacing. Not knowing what else to do, Greg fired both uzis in Tarhedron's direction. With blinding speed, the swords were whipped around, deflecting most of the bullets. Puffs of mud shot up all around, as the bullets impacted with the ground.
