Battle on the Beachside (Anyone)

Battle on the Beachside

Ooc: Ooo, look at me, I started a battle. Anyone can join in. I only want one person in here, and one that can actually finish a battle rather than stalling out of it after five posts.

Ic: Stars lit up the Earth faintly, the moon full and bright, its craters showing clearly. The guiding lighthouse stood behind Seryth as he sat by the rambunctious ocean, its tall waves pulling in on to the shore. There was a tall rock formation off to the side of the ocean that Seryth could look upon and empty his mind. He took in a deep breath of the fresh, oceanic air, and let it out through his nose followed by a content sigh. Seryth was sitting on the highest reaches of the formation.
Though there was no one around, bar the man inside the lighthouse. There were usually a few people around this time, maybe an item showing their love toward each other. No, there was no one. The beach was totally deserted.
Hm, there are usually a few people here around this time. . .
Seryth stood up and held his palm at his forehead and took a good look. He saw nothing. Not one sign of life.
I’ll check it out down there.
Seryth quickly jumped down each ledge carefully and landed on the wet sand. He again took a good look: nothing. Seryth began to walk across keeping alert. He drew both blades. It’d be wrong not to in a case like this.
He began to detect a faint jogging in the distance. He began to run toward it. It was only someone jogging down the beach.
Well at least there’s someone here. I was hoping I’d have a good fight.
There was another noise. Soon there was a somewhat distinct shadow in the distance. Seryth could see some type of weapon at the person’s side. It was too much of a blur to tell. Seryth decided to stop whoever this person was.
“Hey there! Who is it?!”
The figure stopped in its tracks and looked around. It spotted Seryth with both of his blades drawn, and began to walk towards him. . .

Re: Battle on the Beachside (Anyone)

OoC: Well, I need to test this new character of mine out, so if you're up to it, I'll take on the battle.

IC: It was a crisp autumn night. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, with gave birth to a magnificant light from the cresent moon and the stars etched around it. Ezykiel took in a deep breath of the somewhat salty air and let out a content sigh of relief as he exited the bar. With the door now shut behind him, he made his way down the steps and pulled out his pocket watch.

Eleven-thirty...

He hadn't realized how long he'd actually been in that place, but nonetheless it was well worth the time. Ezykiel smiled at little, tucking his pocket watch back into its pocket as he descended down the ramaining steps. It seemed it was a better time as any to find himself a room at the nearby inn, but as he took one quick look to his right, something caught his eye. A silhouette of someone near the lighthouse. It was hard to make out much of anything, but the gleam of light Ezykiel saw had to have been from some kind of blade. He turned off quickly from where he was, making his way past a few lone homes at the edge of the town. His pace quickened as he made his way onto the beach, but as he looked at where he saw the silhouette before, there wasn't anyone in sight. Ezykiel sighed, staring out to the ocean as the waves crashed up onto shore.

What a waste of time that turned out to be...

Just as he began to turn back, a voice rang out from not too far away,"Hey there! Who is it?!" Ezykiel looked around until he caught sight of someone, supposedly the one that belted out the remark. But his eyes didn't catch onto the person, they were caught by the blades that shined in the moonlight. They were quite exceptional, but nothing to what lie at his left side. He turned his body so that he was completely facing them, his arms folded as he began to speak.
"Just a lone traveler. And you, sir?"
"Traveler? Heh..." The blade in his left hand raised, loosely pointing at Ezykiel's holster and sheath, "You don't see many travelers walking around with a blade and a gun."

Ezykiel smirked, raising a hand to his chin, rubbing it a little. There wasn't much he could do to worm his way out of this one.
"It seems I can't pull the wool over your eyes, but it matters not." He opened his eyes and dropped his arms to his side, drawing closer to the man on the beach. "Why praytell are you out here with your blades drawn?"
"Must I really explain myself to the likes of you?"
"Well now, I suppose not. You certainly have the right to your privacy. Curiosity gets the best of me at times."
"Just as I am curious as to what I have to do to get you to unsheath that blade of yours..."
"Ahh, is that all..." Ezykiel withdrew his rapier from its sheath. As he pulled it across his chest to his right side, the golden beauty shimmered in the moonlight. His eyes became stern, but the smirk on his face never left as he spoke to the man once again.
"You're looking for a challenge, I presume?"

Re: Battle on the Beachside (Anyone)

"If you are up to it." Seryth answered.

"Up to it? Of course." answered Ezykiel.

"First, may I ask the name of my opponent?"

"Ezykiel, you?

"Seryth. Well, I guess we are ready, then. Cross blades."

Seryth motioned Ezykiel to cross his blades. The warriors made contact, and at Seryth's count to three, the fight was on.

Both warriors jumped back as if the other was supposed to attack. Seryth gave Ezykiel a smirk and the warriors dashed toward each other, their blades held forward. The clash of steel against steel was made, and soon after, the warriors were parrying, dodging, and attacking, their blades touching some how in every motion.

Well, this isn't going anywhere. . . Seryth thought, so he took his chance and front flipped clear over Ezykiel's head and went for a good stab to Ezykiel's back. Due to warrior instincts, though, the effort had gone amiss. Ezykiel blocked the attack, and soon after this, the warriors were caught yet again in a cross of blades.

"You're doing well." said Seryth.

"Thanks. Though, we just started." Ezykiel answered.

"Never seen you around here."

"Yeah, what's it to you?"

After a short conversation between blades, the warriors were at full speed again. Ezykiel would go for a low slash, Seryth would dodge and vice versa. The fight would end in a stale mate if this went on. Seryth yet again, took things into his own hands and slid barely between Ezykiel's legs and quickly slashed his leg. It was deep enough to make a mortal wound, but it as effective, as Ezykiel kneeled down and held his leg.
