Strangers... (Ansem vs Pip)

OOC: This is my first true battle.

IC: It is night. These roads that lie across the surface of the earth are like veins, suddenly bereft of their pulse. So many roads, so many destinations, so many people in for the night that the terrain is empty, desolate. In the day these scratches are throbbing with life - people and animals and monsters and magicians, all jostling each other, all headed one way or the other. But not now. The moon rides low in the sky and casts its icy eye on the landscape, and a little nondescript figure stands in the middle of one such road, not sure of where he should go. Upon closer inspection, he is not so indescript - the height of a child, his arms reach down to the ground and he walks on his knuckles - a tail juts out from under the hem of his robe, and swishes like a cat considering.
He does not know where he is. It happens sometimes; an unfortunate side-effect of once being an agent of Chaos. He was politely sipping bitter tea with the Queen of Titan, pretending to be interested in her endless prattle on the difficulties in lunar agriculture, when he suddenly went blip. A part of him wishes for something more dramatic, but all he ever gets is a blip.
He can sense the magic in the air. It is as palpable as the strong smell of lilacs in early June.
In the distance, he sees a figure.
"See," he whispers, and suddenly it is as if he is standing directly in front of the man. A tall, dashing figure with fire-touched hair. He has a weapon across his back - Pip does not like weapons. They are too uncertain, and sometimes equally effective when used poorly as when wielded with the utmost skill. He blinks away the spell and takes a moment to collect his thoughts.
He listens to the wind and it whispers violence.
