The Deku Link, I challenge you!

This is a message for The Deku Link. I challenge you two a one-on-one battle with my character, Drakan. Since we are both pretty much newbies to this forum, I thought we could try a battle to start our fighting careers. The arena will be a set of ancient ruins in the desert. Here's my intro:

In Character: IC

Drakan walked through the old ruins, keeping a stern vigil out for anyone close by.

For the past hour, he had been sure someone, or perhaps something, had been trailing him. He had wandered into these ruins in hopes of cornering his unseen foe.

The ruins around him were old and dilapidated, ancient relics from a city that existed thousands of years ago. The city had been destroyed in a fierce battle, and all that remained now were some destroyed stone spires and several decaying monuments.

Suddenly, Drakan heard a rustling sound coming from behind him. The dragon warrior drew his twin longswords and pointed one at his foe, a dark figure dressed in red. Drakan smirked, now finally facing his opponent.

"So, at last we meet, Maverick."

The red figure walked out of the bushes, reaveled as a black rito wearing a red cape. "Drakan. I thought you might try to track me down."

" I accept your challenge. Shall we begin?" With that he lunged into the air and dived at Drakan at full speed.

Drakan rolled out of the way of the dive, and put up his swords in a defensive maneuver.

“So, you have been following me all this time.” Drakan said to the Rito wizard. Maverick grinned.

“Took you long enough. Honestly, I wouldn’t think the great Alphazar could be that oblivious to an opponent, but it looks like I’ve once overestimated your abilities”

Drakan’s eyes narrowed. “Did you come here to talk, or is boring me to death your strategy?”

“I came to fight, but only if it’s a real opponent.”

“Well then, prepare to fight one!” Drakan yelled as he rushed towards the wizards, ready to strike.

As the sword charged at Maverick he held up his arm and held it back with his hand. Drakan stared in amazement at the Rito strength. However as the Dragon Warrior inspected his arm, he saw the Rito had used his magic cape to form a bracer on his arm.

"Nice move Maverick, but your little prestidigitation won't save you in this fight."

"Yes, I know." He sadi as he took out a guitar. "That's why I'm switching to good old fashioned lead." As he heald up his weapon, three bursts of electrical energy shot from the gun at Drakan.

The bullets hit Drakan at point-blank range, sending him flying into a nearby pillar. Maverick smirked. “Well, it looks like you’re going to have to eat your words, Drakan. You weren’t a real opponent! Ha-ha!”

“Guess again, Maverick!” Maverick looked over to the pillar to see Drakan rise from the some. The Necromancer stared at the warrior, who should have been defeat by that last move.

“But how?” Drakan responded by ripping off hi red and gold shirt, revealing a silver suit made of many chain links. “Mithril Armor! No wonder you were able to move so quickly AND resist my electric bullets” Drakan grinned.

“Yeah. And that’s not the only secret I got up my sleeve.” Drakan grasped the Pendant around his neck, the Dragon Force Pendant. Suddenly, his eyes glowed red and he held his opposite hand out in front of him. “Fireball attack!” Drakan cried as he shot a flurry of fireballs from his hand straight at Maverick.

The fireballs zoomed at the Rito. "Din's Fire" He uttered as an orb of Fire formed around him, absorbing the blasted. All accept the last which hit the necromancer knocking him ten feat back.

"Lucite hardening, must end life in classic Lorne Green pose, from Battle star Galactica." Maverick began jabbering as he attempted to stand up.

"Your quoting ain't gonna work Maverick. That was enough energy to put down a bull moose."

"Fine, then maybe you'd like to say hello to my little a friend!" Maverick snapped his finger, summoning a small squad of Redead. "Get him boys!"

Drakan stared at the small army of Redeads. “Redeads. It had to be Redeads.” The warrior said in disgust.

Quickly, he rushed in, head strong, and sliced through two Redeads with a combined slash from his two swords. He then lunged in and stabbed one through the heart with his right sword, while blocking and incoming attack from another Redead with his left sword. Though he tried to get in more hits, the zombie minions swarmed the warrior, and he was forced to use his swords in complete defense against the Redeads. He quickly took a leap back from the horde, hoping to regroup.

“Forget it, Drakan! You may be able to take out one or two, but there’s no way even You can fight a whole army!” Maverick cried. A smirk appeared on Drakan’s face.

“That’s where you’re wrong.” With that, Drakan sheathed his longswords and drew his greatsword, the Dragon’s Wrath. In a flash, the mighty blade ignited. Drakan rushed forward and used a devastating fire slash, destroying almost all of the Redeads in a single swipe. Maverick’s eyes widened.

“Oh my” he said, as saw the Redeads fall in a great cloud of smoke. Suddenly, Drakan leapt out of the cloud, the Dragon’s Wrath held above his head in a slashing position.

“Yahhhhh!!!!!” Drakan cried as he slashed at Maverick. The attack took Maverick by surprise, knocking him back into one of the pillars. The attack also managed to singe some of Maverick’s feathers. Drakan stood before Maverick, knowing that the battle was far from over.

Drakan looked, and as the smoke cleared, Maverick appeared unharmed as he was surrounded by a protective bubble. "That was interesting." The bubble deflated and once again became his cape. "You, my friend have done! You have insulted my footwear!" Holds up a singed pair of black sandals.

"O.o" Went Drakan.

"My sandals don't like your stare." Suddenly Maverick's cape encased his arms, becoming razor sharp knives. "Tornado attack!" He began to spin around rapidly like a twister, climbing into the air and charging at Drakan. Drakan was cautios as he knew that one touch from the tornado could me certain death, or at least a nasty cut.

Seeing the strength and intensity of the attack, Drakan quickly ran away from the attack. He managed to outrun the attack for a while, but he knew he could not keep up his pace for long. He could see lots of debris being sucked into the wind by Maverick’s attack. Several times, small rocks and other pieces of debris had hit him, giving him several cuts and scratches on his face and hands. Drakan knew he needed to do something, and fast!

Once again, Drakan grasped the Dragon Force Pendant again and chanted an incantation.

“Dragon’s Might, Burning Bright, Give to me the Power of Flight!” At once, a pair of red dragon wings sprouted from Drakan’s back. The warrior flew straight up into the air, completely confusing Maverick.

“Hey, where’d he go?” Maverick asked.

Suddenly, Drakan rushed through the air, heading straight towards Maverick, holding his Greatsword in front of him.

“Alright, Maverick! It’s time to see what’s tougher: My Metal, or your Magic!”

As the two blade met, they clanged and the two warriors were deadlocked. <He's far too strong> Maverick Thought as his arm began to bend down. <I'll have to you my special attack>

Just as Maverick's arm was about to break, he suddenly dissapeared at light speed. Drakan, was confused by this move.

"Oh what? Too scared to fight me Maverick?" As he called out, Maverick suddenly leaped out from the shadows and lunged on Drakan by surprise. Drakan was being brought down, so he swung his flamming sword at the Rito, but as it hit, the attacker was revealed to be nothing but a stalfos minion, and easily destroyed. Drakan landed.

"What trick is this Maverick?" Suddely, four figures stepped out of the shadows. One on each side, one behind him and one in front of him. The first was revealed to be Maverick.

"Oh it's just..." the second one is also revealed to be Maverick. "A little trick..." The third one is once again Maverick. "I like to call..." Guess who? "The Stalfos Clone."

"Pick the red..." "Get ahead." "Pick the black..." "Send you back."

Drakan looked around, perplexed by Maverick’s technique.

“I’m not here to play games!”

“It looks like you’ll have to” the four Mavericks said in unison. “Like I said, the second you attack one of us, then I’ll attack. You’d better hope you attack the real me.”

Drakan stared at the four. They were perfect replicas of each other, each one a Maverick. <All four could be Stalfos minions. He could just be trying to trick you> Drakan thought.

“How do I know you’re not trying to trick me? You could be trying to sneak attack me from behind.” Drakan said suspiciously.

“I play fair, warrior.” The Maverick to the right said.

“Now guess” The one to the left said.

“Which one of us is real” The one in front of him said.

“And which ones are false.” The one behind him said.

Drakan tried to focus his energy, trying to find the real one, but his efforts were in vain. There was no physical or spiritual difference between the four.

“Alright, I’ll play your game” Drakan said as he sheathed his Greatsword. “But I’ll play by my own rules!” Drakan said as he drew he longswords, striking the Maverick in front of him and the Maverick to the right of him.

The front Maverick bent over in pain and dissolved into a stalfos, while the right Maverick was blown back by the blast and the other two Mavericks instantely reverted to stalfos bones. Drakan walked up to the mortally wounded Maverick.

"H-how, did you know?"

"It's real simple B! I guessed."

"You, have won this day Alphazar, but the war shall be mine. What war you ask? I'll make it up later. Chiakazeme" Maverick takes out three rubber balls and throws them on the ground creating a smokescreen.

Drakan stood there in the now appearing rain. "I guess I've won this battle"

-Meanwhile on Dragon Roost

Medli and Komali are sitting around taking.

"So what you doing tonight?"

"Eh." Suddenly Maverick appears at the door, badely beaten.

"Maverick?!" Medli screamed.

"What happened to you? Box factory again?"

"No I learned my lesson the third time. You guys got some sandals I could borrow?" Medli pointed to the closet. "Thanks."

"Uh, Maverick, maybe you should quite the deathmatches while you're ahead." Suggested Medli.

"No! Drakan has won the day, but he has yet to feel my full fury! The day of Maverick is at hand!"

"Well if you're going to bleed demon blood on the floor, could you at least stand on a coaster?" Medli suggested.

"-_____- Sure"

"You, have won this day Alphazar, but the war shall be mine. What war you ask? I'll make it up later. Chiakazeme" Maverick said as he took out three rubber balls and threw them to the ground, creating a smokescreen. When the smoke cleared, Maverick was gone.

Drakan stood there in the now appearing rain. "I guess I've won this battle" he said. With that, he sheathed his swords and walked away from the battlefield, as the rain poured on his shoulders.

OOC: Great battle, Maverick! Funny ending, too! I believe this post has shown the other fighters that we are strong fighters. I look forward to meeting you again on the battlefield. Until then, Chow!

Thanks dude! I look forward to a rematch one day as well. Now I must go get coaster, or the Ritos shall yell at me again. Hey look! I got thirty posts! I'm a Gerudo! Huzzah!
