Swamplands Brawl (One on One)

OoC: My character. What kind of adventurer wouldn't want to get in an epic fight with a super-intelligent, laser rifle-carrying T. rex? ; )

BiC: It was a peaceful night, not unlike any other night. Crickets were chirping, dragonflies were buzzing, and all other manner of wildlife were busy living their lives as they always have in the midst of the Great Swamplands. That is, until a large rocket ship pummeled in to the swamp, tearing up foliage of all kinds. Leaving a trail of fire and destruction in its path, the ship continued to tear up terrain as it slid through, until it was stopped by a group of rather large trees extending from a muddy pool of water. All was silent for a few moments after the ship rammed in to the base of the foliage. Soon, however, something within the ship began to stir, and a large, intimidating creature stepped out of its hull.

"The coordinates must be off," the figure said in a booming, monstrous voice, "I will not be able to find the necessary components for the bomb here." The creature began to slowly walk through the swamplands, pondering to itself. "Now that my ship is wrecked, I will have to find the components necessary to fix it. Hopefully the tasty little organisms that populate this area are not as backwards as I fear, and carry the materials needed within their dwellings."

As it continued through the swamp, it wasn't long before the creature, the being that called itself Saurus, noticed what appeared to be a large travel lodge in the distance. "Ah, how fortunate," Saurus silently said to himself, "hopefully the materials I need to fix my wrecked vehicle with will be present within this dwelling. From the looks of it, there seems to be plenty of organisms within this dwelling, as well; this is also fortunate, as that long flight left me terribly hungry."

The creature decided that it would be a good idea to first send the pathetic humans living within the dwelling in to a frenzy, so he grabbed the laser rifle that was strapped to his back and fired a shot of energy at the dwelling. This left a large hole in the building, and just as he expected, a large number of humans came pouring out; far more than he initially thought there would be, actually. Delighted by this, the dinosaur quickly began to chase a few of the humans that were running through the swamp.

The first organism that he gobbled up was a rather obese man; this was an easy target, considering how slow-moving he was. He then proceeded to devour a couple of small children who--despite running with all of their might for their lives--were not fast enough to escape Saurus's jaws. Finishing off with a pregnant woman and her husband, Saurus had reached his fill. He then decided to head over to the lodge and investigate it to see if any of the materials he needed to fix his ship were present...

BiC: It had been ages since Kenth had a decent meal. The laguz, especially the dragons such as himself, were known for their healthy appetites, and rarely could beorc (humans), ever match the amount they can eat. Lately, however, Kenth had been feeding merely on fish and occasionally whatever fruit he could find. As his powerful stomach grumbled, Kenth could not get the thoughts of the hearty meals he used to eat at home out of his mind. What he would do for one of those meaty meals again. They always comprised of steaks, chicken, ribs, almost any meat one would hear of. There were different vegetables on the side as well, including salads, peas, corn, anything that was growable in the area.

The only moment Kenth could forget about getting a good dinner was when the land he had been traveling through in his dragon form began to grow swamp-like. Muddy, watery areas grew deeper and thicker, with trees popping out in random spots. Kenth hated swamps. They usually smelled awful and guaranteed nothing good to eat. At least nothing he would enjoy. However, right now, the red dragon pretty much had no choice. He landed by the water, reverted to his human form, unsheathed a dagger he kept for such purposes, and drove it into the swamp water several times, until finally a fish on a stick emerged from the muddiness.

"This...actually looks promising," Kenth said to himself, eyeing the strange fish he caught. Knowing looks can be deceiving, he decided to taste the creature with caution. He cut a small piece from the fish's body and immediately popped it in his mouth. It was not the best taste ever, but it certainly wasn't terrible either. Kenth removed the fish's head and tail and munched away, as if he hadn't seen food in days. When the laguz eat, they really eat. The only beorc Kenth knew who could eat even close to the same amount as any laguz was Tellius's hero, Ike. From what he heard, Ike had bigger appetite than almost anyone the hero knew.

Soon after Kenth finished the final bite of fish, he decided it should hold him off until he could find real meat. As he'd sheathed his dagger and reverted back to dragon form, he took the the air once again. The swamp smelled worse than spoiled beef, but Kenth could bear it. If going through meant finding better food later, no smell would hold him back.

Before he could go much of a distance, however, the strangest of strange sights fell upon Kenth's shocked eyes. A giant creature, appearing to be reptile-like, much like Kenth's dragon form, was stomping through the area in what appeared to be a human settlement. It had sharp teeth, powerfully large legs, and a mouth structure similar to that of the dragons Kenth knew, but that was all. What was this creature? Another dragon? No...it couldn't be. It had no wings. Its tiny arms were less than half the size of Kenth's muscular dragon arms. The reptile creature also carried a strange weapon in its little hands. The creature itself had to also be even larger than dragon Kenth, although not by much.

"How can it possibly use that with such little arms?" Kenth asked himself. He quickly reverted to human form again and hid himself behind a tree. Unsure whether or not this was a creature he should mess with, Kenth did his best to stay out of sight.

By now, most of the remaining humans had cleared the area, and Saurus was standing next to the lodge. Quickly placing his laser rifle back in the container strapped to his side, he stuck his head in to the lodge, looking looking around its inside. The inside was completely vacant; all it contained were the belongings of the humans who fled when it was attacked. Unfortunately, none of those items were of use to Saurus. "Nothing," Saurus said with a tone of disappointment. He retracted his head from the lodge, and in a fit of rage, he pulled out his laser rifle again and started firing madly at the lodge.

"STUPID, PRIMITIVE, BACKWARDS (Yet admittedly quite delicious) PRIMATES!" Saurus roared, as the remnants of the lodge came crashing down in flames. "How could these pathetic beasts be so adaptable, yet lack any truly significant technological progress? It baffles me to think that I landed on a world where space flight isn't a common method of transportation."

Saurus then took a deep breath and regained his calm. "Well, let's look at the bright side," he began to silently say to himself, "A). I am in a rather heavily forested, swamp-like area, a habitat that I am familiar with, and B). despite this disastrous misadventure, I was able to get a nice meal, something I can't say that I've had in a while." Taking a few moments to scan the area, he began to walk away from the ruined lodge.

As he walked, he carefully turned his head from side to side, checking to see if there were any other organisms present within the area. It wasn't long before his path was blocked by a number of trees, surrounding him on all sides. "How to proceed, how to proceed," he asked himself. "I could knock down these trees, or make one of my robotic assistants incinerate them... no, I'll do it myself."

Saurus then lifted his laser rifle, and began wildly firing at the trees in random spots. This caused a large fire to blossom around the area, engulfing all nearby foliage. "Yes, this seems to be the most efficient plan of action: burning my way through this foliage." he said to himself, with a smug tone. "Actually, I am still a little hungry; this could possibly reveal any local fauna or any remaining humans hiding among the flora."

"Whoa, what the--?!" Kenth gasped. The weapon carried by the reptile creature had fired a beam unlike anything the laguz had ever seen before. The closest thing in appearance to this was the very breath of a dragon laguz itself. However, Kenth almost didn't realize the tree he'd been hiding behind was blown to bits by the shot.

"Ah!" he exclaimed, knowing now he's presence was going to be revealed. There he stood, in human form, right in front of the gigantic reptile creature, in plain sight. Kenth's first impulse was to just run, but that would do him nothing. He had to fight back. What was this creature capable of doing to him, though? The strange weapon in his little arms was no doubt very powerful. Could Kenth's breath attack rival it at all? There was only one way to find out, but Kenth decided to save it.

"Looks like the choice whether or not to battle you has been made for me," Kenth said to the creature. "Or has it? Catch me if you can!" With that, Kenth sped off into the swampy area, hoping to take advantage of the creature's size and get him stalled. It had to take at least a little time to blow everything out of the way, and Kenth was speedy on his human feet. He had to wait for exactly the right moment to transform...

Saurus stood, waiting for the flames to die down a bit before proceeding. "What is this," Saurus shouted, "some sort of game?" Saurus began to run in the direction that the seemingly human individual ran off in. Saurus proceeded recklessly, zapping any branches or debris that fell before his path. "He's quite fast, and doesn't seem to show as much fear as other humans do when I confront them," Saurus muttered to himself, "there's something strange about this one."

As Saurus clomped on through the wet, swampy soil, he felt the bites of a few smaller organisms upon his feet; quadrupedal aquatic reptiles. Although their bites caused slight pain to Saurus, it was nothing significant; due to the enhanced durability of Saurus's skin, he wasn't slowed down. He was determined to catch up with this strange human.

However, unfortunately for Saurus, his target was quick; he eventually lost site of who he was pursuing. When he lost sight of the man, he found that he was in a clearing of sorts, with a few small ponds of mud scattered around the area. Assuming that his target wasn't too far ahead, he decided to shout out to it. "Come out now," Saurus's voice boomed, "there's no point in hiding." Saurus gazed upon the edges of the clearing, his eyes shifting from tree to tree. "Come out, for I will torch the rest of the trees as I did with the others." Saurus waited a moment, but he heard no response.

"Droids, activate." Saurus softly said. After these words, two small, levitating, spherical robots, armed with what appeared to be small sub-machine guns built in to their sides, rolled out of one of the containers Saurus was wearing. They stood side by side, as Saurus continued to scan the trees. "This should be interesting," Saurus spoke, as he was silently strategizing, expecting to see some sort of movement from behind the trees. "Droids, head out in to the flora and locate the human."

The droids immediately zoomed off in to the forests, as Saurus slowly followed, still keeping track of his surroundings.

"Hehe...looks like he's either given up or gone to get some help," Kenth deducted after checking to see how far behind the giant creature was. "He may think I'm just a human, but pretty soon, he's going to find out that he's dead wrong."

Kenth decided to take a bit of a rest before carrying on with his plan. The idea was to lead the creature into an area large enough for a battle between the two. This swamp was too cramped with plants, trees, and other foliage for their large sizes. Eventually, as soon as Kenth was about to be on his way once more to find such a clearing, more noises sounded from between the trees nearby. Kenth jumped upon seeing yet another strange creature before him. However, this thing did not look natural. It looked man-made.

Hovering about in the air, the new creature had weapons attached to its sides. It was of similar structure to what the giant reptile had back at the human settlement, meaning it was possibly a minion of that creature.

"Well, looks like this overgrown lizard is a little smarter than I anticipated," Kenth decided, speaking aloud. "I hope I can outrun it long enough to find a clearing. See ya!"

With that, the laguz dashed off once more, hoping to find his destination soon before he became a meal for that oversized reptile. Although he was originally trying to trick his new pursuer into thinking that Kenth would be easy to catch, the laguz could not be entirely sure it would work this time. The weapons on the creature began firing little bullets in the kind of fashion one would see arrows coming from ballistae, but Kenth changed his movements to dodge each one. Still, he pressed on, eventually putting on a grin of pleasure several minutes later. A huge clearing about the size of a small town finally appeared before Kenth as he raced through more swamp flora.

"Yes! Finally!" He chimed. "It's quite muddy here, but it'll have to do. Now you'll see true might, creature!" Kenth then stood his ground, and put his fists together. In a mere split second, he turned from a human to an eighteen foot tall dragon that stood on two legs. He was not hesitant to immediately bolt into the sky with his powerful wings and fire a huge deadly beam of dragon breath right at the bullet creature, blasting it apart to shreds.

"You want me, overgrown lizard?! Come and get me!" Kenth yelled as loud as he could, trying to get the reptile's attention. He landed back into the muddy ground of the clearing and returned to his human form upon impact.

Saurus heard the being's challenge, and could see the aerial being in the distance before it plummeted to the earth. "What is this, some sort of flying beast? Could it be a pterosaur? No, it couldn't be... it was able to destroy my machine with what appeared to be... flaming breath? That is not an aspect of the biology of pterosaurs. Interesting... I guess I was right in my suspicion that this creature was not a mere human..." Saurus thought to himself, as he approached the area where the rival beast had landed.

When Saurus spotted the being, a perplexed look covered his face. "Why do you take the form of a pathetic, lowly human? You are certainly far mightier in your flying reptilian form, are you not? If I were you, I wouldn't disguise myself as food." Saurus roared, questioning his rival. "Droid, return!" Saurus shouted, and the remaining droid caught up to him, floating in the air at his side. Saurus began to slowly wander around his opponent, pointing the laser rifle at him.

"I don't take kindly to those who wreck my creations," Saurus said. "I'm not sure what to do with you... abduct you and experiment on you, figuring out how the biology behind your transformations and reptilian form works, or crush you right here and now." Saurus moved a little closer, pointing his laser rifle at his enemy. "Well now, so it's a fight you want? Well, a fight you shall get!" Saurus said, and without hesitation, he began rapidly firing his laser rifle at his opponent.

"That is for me to know, and you to find out!" Kenth replied to the reptile's question about his different forms. As he noticed the creature's weapon being pointed at him, Kenth took to dragon form once more and returned to the air. His powerful wings allowed him to fly quite fast for his heavy dragon form, but the beam coming out of the reptile's weapon was able to rival that speed. Kenth dodged and dodged, each strangely colored beam only barely missing him.

The dragon laguz knew that in his dragon form, he became a large, slower-on-the-ground target, but being fast in the air didn't seem to be quite enough. However, just as he'd thought before about the fish he was eating, looks can be deceiving. The beam finally managed to touch Kenth's hard and scaly dragon hide, but it did little to him at all. It merely left a slight burn mark.

"Well, well. Is that the best you can do? Seems like you've never met a dragon before!" Kenth replied, almost pretending to know that the creature's weapon wouldn't have affected him that much. "Now you'll see true strength!" With that, Kenth bolted high in the air, well beyond the reptile's reach and turned his flight into a dive bomb straight for the creature's body. It was so quick, Kenth wasn't sure how the reptile would be able to get out of this one.

Saurus stood in thought as he saw that his beams hardly damaged his opponent. "Hmm... interesting. Hardened, highly-resistant reptilian skin. Quite like mine; I assume, maybe, this beast was developed in some sort of laboratory, like my natural armor was the result of extraterrestrial experimentation? Well, best not to ponder over this. He seems to be coming my way." Saurus silently said to himself, stopping as he noticed the creature was currently diving at him at an extremely fast speed.

Quickly turning to his robotic assistant, Saurus ordered a single command: "Droid, self-destruct." Just as Saurus said this, the droid hurled itself straight toward the dragon as Saurus immediately rolled out of the way. Once the droid made contact with the dragon, both the droid and the dragon were engulfed in an intense electrical explosion resulting from the droid activating its self destruct mechanism.

Saurus watched as his opponent hit the ground to his side, causing a cloud of smoke, chunks of earth, and electrically-charged scrap metal to fly up in to the air. "Now, let's see if the new self-destruct feature I implemented in these droids is a success or not." Saurus said with a rather inquisitive tone while waiting for the smoke to clear.

Kenth never noticed the second strange creature accompanying the giant reptile. It exploded just before the dragon laguz was going to make contact with the reptile's body and sent him to the ground on his side.

"Blast!" he yelped as his dragon hide made contact with the muddy ground. Well, he's used the only strange creature he has there, so I can take advantage of this, Kenth thought as the mud broke his slide upon hitting the ground. He merely brushed off the easily bearable pain from the impact of his fall and flapped his powerful wings once more. Being much closer to the gigantic creature this time, Kenth threw himself right into the reptile's gut at blinding speed.

"You're wide open now, lizard!" he yelled as his hard dragon scales made contact with the reptile's own scaly skin. He had stumbled backwards upon Kenth's attack, but because he was heavier than the dragon laguz, it took a swipe of Kenth's powerful tail directly in the face to knock him completely to the ground.

"Now you know the power of a dragon laguz, the strongest laguz species in the world, creature. I'd be glad to give you more, if you desire," Kenth replied, crossing his dragon arms as he still hovered in the air.

OoC: I take it Kenth is only weak against lightning/thunder/electricity if it's of a magical nature. Looks like it's time to be a bit more creative...

BiC:

It was beginning to rain. Saurus looked up at the beast, with an expression of concealed rage on his mud-smeared face. It appeared as if he was going to roar at the top of his lungs; however, he didn't. Instead, he took a moment to calm himself, and then he quickly scrambled to his feet.

"Interesting. Very interesting, indeed..." he said, strangely without any pain in his voice. "I have never encountered a creature quite like you before, even though you appear so similar to the dinosaurs I am familiar with." Saurus began to slowly approach the dragon hovering above him. "Your physical skills are quite powerful," he said, as he moved ever closer, "however, mine are too."

Immediately as Saurus finished speaking, he turned at an extreme speed--in a circular way--with his tail sticking in to the air, which hit the dragon and sent it plummeting to the ground. Before the dragon could recover, Saurus charged at the dragon, forehead first, and rammed in to the dragons body, knocking his opponent back several feet.

"Do not underestimate the strength of the Tyrannosaurus. You may have the gift of flight, but know that it isn't a necessity." Saurus's voice boomed. Then, with a swipe of his tail, he sent mud flying all over the dragon, covering him in muck and debris. "I'd be glad to give you more, if you desire." Saurus said, wearing a smug expression upon his face.

OoC: Yes, Kenth is extremely vulnerable to electricity, as it's his biggest weakness. However, if his wings were somehow disabled and he had to stay on the ground in dragon form, he'd be weakened then too. He is slow on the ground as a dragon due to his weight.

BiC: "Arrgh!" Kenth yelped again upon being hit. For the first time, he'd found an opponent with strength and power that matched his own. However, that only meant the laguz would be fighting harder than ever before, and Kenth enjoyed that thought. The comment about being able to fly was what he really wanted to counter, however.

"Don't be so sure. Wings can be more useful than you think," Kenth countered. With that, he began to flap his powerful wings even harder, letting himself get to the air once more. Harder and harder they flapped, sending strong winds, mud, and who knows what else right in the path of the creature, who called himself a dinosaur, a Tyrannosaurus. The hard mud, rocks, plants, even trees that were blown into his body caused him to be pushed back once again. To top things off, Kenth finished with a fire of his breath beam, which moved even faster due to the wind he'd created.

"You know, I think it's time I took this one step further!" Kenth decided after his breath beam knocked the dinosaur over again. He raced through the air by his wings and held out his clawed dragon hands. A powerful slash of each one caused the dinosaur's flesh to bleed. Kenth's clawed feet followed the same example.

The rain grew ever heavier, and the effects made this evident. The pools of mud were growing ever deeper, ever wider, and trees of all shapes and sizes were beginning to sway violently; some falling down. Any of the remaining humans who escaped from the lodge were certainly in a dire situation, for unlike the two great beasts that were battling within the clearing, they did not have great strength or stamina.

Bits of blood could be visible in the mudpool below Saurus and the dragon. Saurus, while taking the lashes from his opponent's claws, was amazed by this creature's strength and stamina, especially in the midst of heavy rains such as these. "Yes, it must be some species of dinosaur; maybe an earlier species or one that evolved a bit later. Hmm, quite interesting; well, this is starting to get a bit painful. Watch carefully; wait for the right moment to strike... then we'll see who the apex predator is." Saurus silently thought to himself, as he felt the stinging blows of the creature's claws.

Saurus was waiting for the right moment to strike, and he found that moment once his opponent slashed him with its clawed feet. Immediately, Saurus stuck out his neck and deeply chomped in to one of the beast's wings, latched on as a lamprey would be to a fish. Through clenched teeth, Saurus said in a muffled tone, "Let's test the limits of your stamina. I will not let go." Certain that the creature would be offset by this sudden, unexpected attack, Saurus held on to the wing, waiting for the creature to fall to the ground.

"AAAAUGH!" Kenth yelped, unable to bear the pain of sharp dinosaur teeth clench into his left wing. "Not...my wing..." Kenth had to get out of this one fast or he would not be able to fly well anymore, if even at all. With that, doing his best to shake off the immense pain, he targeted the dinosaur's jaw and rammed his head directly into it.

The sharp horns that jetted out from Kenth's fair sized dragon head stabbed the giant reptile's flesh, causing him to yelp in pain himself and let go of the dragon's wing. While he still had the time, Kenth checked to see if he could still fly. The wound slowed him down some, but not nearly enough to keep him on the ground. Still, he'd lost the option to dive bomb and that was one of his strongest physical maneuvers.

"Horns, claws, oh, and spikes as well," Kenth said, referring to the few spikes he had on his arms and shoulders. "I doubt you have all three. Oh yes...did I mention I can bite too? Allow me to demonstrate!" With that, the dragon also repeated what he had before to get his claws into the dinosaur's flesh, only this time, Kenth sunk his own jaws into the reptile's left arm, hoping to render his handheld weapon useless.

While the dinosaur tried to pull himself together, Kenth thought about using a vulnerary right away on his wound, but decided to save it for later until he really needed it. He didn't want to kill his opponent right on, as it seemed like he wouldn't find a similar fight in a long time. Better to enjoy it while it lasted. However, there was one problem with this. Kenth noticed he would probably have to return to his human form again soon. And he knew he could not possibly do a thing to this dinosaur beast that way and would quickly become a meal.

In that case, there would only be one option. A laguz stone.

Thunder boomed across the area as the storm took an absolute turn for the worst. Trees began to fly through the air, and debris of all kinds were tossed around the area. However, it wasn't the swamp alone that was witnessing the effects of this storm. Elsewhere, in an area outside the swamp, a large dam was beginning to overflow; the very dam that blocked the river that led in to the swamp. It would be only a matter of time before it would break...

Back at the swamp, Saurus had just finished taking his most recent blows. Saurus took a moment to recover, examining his wounded arm in the process. "This foolish reptile is starting to anger me; I should probably attempt to finish him off- no, then I would never be able to know how his biology works. What gives him the ability to transform, what gives him the ability to breathe his fiery breath. He does seem to hold plenty of stamina, but there is probably some easy way to wear him down that I am overlooking." Saurus thought to himself, as he took a moment to get to his feet, ready to engage his opponent yet again.

Saurus quickly examined the area, noticing his laser rifle resting upon the ground. "Hmm, no good; that bite left a good bit of damage upon my arm." Saurus said within his thoughts, disregarding the weapon. He then examined the crater that was left behind from the dragon's fall earlier, now a small pool filled with rain water. After taking a moment to view the pool, he pulled out some sort of strange, glowing device from his tool bag. "It is fortunate that I carry spare components with me." Saurus silently said to himself. "This electro-bomb is the same type of device triggered when I activate my droids' self-destruct mechanisms; if it explodes within the pool of water, it may result in a shockwave powerful enough to immobilize my opponent. However, there are two problems with this: A). How am I to get this flying beast in to the water, and B). how am I to activate this bomb?" After taking a moment to find the answers to these questions, he tossed the glowing object in to the water.

Immediately after throwing the object, without hesitation, Saurus quickly moved in the direction of his laser rifle, after noticing that his opponent was busy strategizing; seemingly deciding on whether or not to heal himself or whether or not to use some strange stone that he carried with him. Saurus immediately retrieved the rifle, carrying it with one arm; considering the condition one of his arms was in, it would be futile for him to attempt to aim with only one usable arm for the dragon, which would no doubt perform hasty aerial maneuvers to avoid his blasts, but that wasn't the idea that crossed his mind. Saurus, above all else, was resourceful, and knew how to use the environment to his advantage. Spotting a single large tree, loosened from the earth by the storm, Saurus found the opportunity that he was waiting for.

After taking a brief moment to calculate the distance between the tree and his opponent and then the distance between his opponent and the water-filled crater, he dashed in the direction of the tree, not paying attention to whether his opponent was ready to strike again or if he was still strategizing. Once Saurus reached the tree, he immediately used his tail to knock it from the earth. His calculations proved accurate, for once the tree lifted from the ground, it headed straight at his opponent and knocked his opponent in to the crater.

Knowing that he didn't have much time to act, he immediately fired a few powerful shots in to the water, hoping it was enough to trigger the bomb. Fortunately for saurus, the shots hit the bomb, and the pool erupted in electricity. Standing back, he waited to see if his opponent would rise from the pool; he readied himself in a charging position, so that in the case that his opponent rose from the pool, he would be ready to ram in to his opponent with his forehead once again.

Meanwhile, cracks were beginning to appear in the wall of the dam...

"Damn it, I can't fly right in this weather!" Kenth said to himself as the wind heavily picked up and eventually began to push him a little, as heavy as he was in dragon form.

Suddenly, as Kenth waited for his opponent to rise and see what he'd do next, a strange smell filled the air. It was the smell of a lot of metal and laguz noses could pick up scents normal human noses could not. Just what was this creature up to? Before the red dragon knew it, the dinosaur had tossed a glowing metal object into a crater full of water and a tree was hurled in Kenth's direction. He went straight into the crater of water only to feel a huge shock of electricity engulf him.

And electricity was his major weakness.

"Tatatatatatata," Kenth bellowed as the shock electrified him. But hold on. He didn't feel like a dragon anymore. Moments later, he realized his transformation time had run out just as he'd fallen into the pool of water. The electricity had still done heavy damage, but had Kenth still been in dragon form, he could possibly have been wiped out.

Now in human form again, Kenth held his breath under the water and attempted to reach the surface. However, he only found more water pouring over his head and sending him flying down stream. Apparently there had been a river damn built somewhere in this swamp and the rain caused it to overflow. Kenth finally managed to poke his head above the rapidly flowing water several minutes later and wash up on more swampy shore.

"Ugh..." he panted. He was heavily wounded. Taking the time he managed to technically be given by that dinosaur to heal himself with a little vulnerary, he rendered himself good as new. However, it'd only be a matter of time before the creature would find him again and there was only a little more time left before Kenth could transform once more. If he was lucky, he wouldn't have to use a laguz stone after all.

With that, Kenth brainstormed about a good place to hide. But where could he go if the dinosaur could just use another one of his metal weapons to flush the laguz out? Why, right back in the water, of course. The dinosaur would probably think Kenth drowned or something if he did not appear anywhere on land. The dragon laguz immediately jumped back into the water and stayed hidden beneath the currents, hoping he could hold his breath for a little while longer...

The cracks in the dam eventually grew too numerous for the structure to hold. The entire river busted through, heading down in to the swamp. Once a myriad of wetlands, the swamp soon resembled a lake moreso than it did a swamp.

"Hmm, where did he go? He is quite resourceful, like me; unfortunately for him, he does not have the mechanical skill that I possess." Saurus thought to himself. "That electro-bomb proved quite effective; maybe if I could get back to my wrecked ship, I could apply some of the parts I have in there to my laser rifle, making it in to some type of electro-gun; that should be able to subdue my opponent. As for leaving him, he'll probably think I've fled. I better hurry, however; the waters are rising at a rapid pace." Saurus began to dash off in to the woods, while leaving his opponent in his hidden position.

Saurus ran past all of the woods he traveled through to reach his opponent, and reached the lodge that he terrorized earlier; it was now almost completely submerged in water. Saurus continued on, and finally reached his wrecked ship; it was partially submerged in water, but fortunately for him, enough of it was exposed so that he may enter it. Quickly climbing in to the ship, Saurus immediate pulled out what looked like some strange syringe. "Every space ship should come stocked with some sort of first aid," Saurus silently said, "and this alien medical gel should do the trick." Saurus immediately injected his arm with the liquid contained in the syringe; it now began to heal, and was no longer limp.

"Now," Saurus thought to himself, "let's extract the ship's power cables, grab a few batteries, and use them to modify my weapon." Several minutes passed, but he was able to fashion what appeared to be a modifed laser rifle; for a genius of Saurus's nature, these upgrades probably took a little too long. Regardless, Saurus felt satisfied with his new electro-gun, and exited the ship, before it became completely submerged.

Saurus then traveled back through the woods, careful to avoid the deep sections of water scattered all around him. He was now ready, with a rejuvenated arm and a modified weapon, to flush out his opponent and attempt to subdue it.

"He's just handing me the advantage, isn't he?" Kenth said quietly to himself when he finally poked his head out of the water. Immediately as he'd done that, the dragon laguz spotted the dinosaur near the flowing water up ahead. Kenth submerged himself once more, knowing his next plan should not fail.

He may have his little toys at his disposal, but he doesn't have the power of flight or breath, Kenth thought as he drew closer and closer to his opponent. ...or the element of surprise. His transformation rest period had finally ended as he reverted back to dragon form once more and was ready for his plan.

"THINK FAST, DINO BREATH!!" Kenth yelled as he shot out of the water right before the dinosaur's eyes and made contact with his gut once more. Kenth used his wings to push himself as well as the creature through the air. He eventually caused the dinosaur to come into contact with a tall rocky wall. A cliff was at least fifty feet above them. Kenth, after letting go of his opponent, perched himself atop the cliff and watched as the crash caused a portion of the rock to crack and break. Rocks fell right onto the dinosaur, probably causing him even more pain.

"Hehe, you almost had me back there," Kenth admitted. "You're indeed the strongest opponent I've ever faced, but no warrior ever goes into battle unprepared."

Saurus was buried underneath a pile of rocks at the bottom of the ledge. An unusual silence persisted for a few minutes. Not a single noise emanated from the rocks as the water around them rose... that is, until the crackling sound of thunder permeated the area as a long bolt of what appeared to be concentrated lightning shot out of the rocks, up toward the dragon. Once Saurus felt that his attack made contact with the enemy, he rose from the rubble, continuing to fire the lightning out of his makeshift electro-gun.

Obviously bruised quite a bit by this recent attack, he still persisted; his dinosaur stamina, as well as his unnaturally hardened skin, allowed him to withstand alot. Staring at his enemy while continuing to fire, he slowly moved to the top of the pile of rubble, corresponding to the rapid rise in water. With a tone of deep anger, Saurus began to roar at his enemy. "YOU ARE QUITE THE PERSISTENT IMBECILE, AREN'T YOU?" Saurus yelled, continuing to fire his beam.

The waters were beginning to flow far more rapidly, and the amount of space he was able to stand upon was slowly diminishing. Knowing that it wouldn't be long before he was swept up by the rapids, Saurus slowly began to ponder to himself. "This endeavor was a complete failure. This beast obviously has a level of stamina and persistence rivaling mine; it will be impossible, with my current arsenal, to abduct and experiment on him as I had planned. Maybe another time," Saurus thought to himself, again noticing that he barely had any room left to stand, "but for now, I could at least dish out some punishment before I am swept away. Let's at least give this encounter some sort of finish; a grand finale."

Saurus then unloaded the rest of his gun's energy at his enemy, poised atop the cliff, in an extremely powerful electro-beam. He watched with pleasure as he shocked his enemy for a few moments until his gun's power was completely depleted. Content with what little he was able to accomplish, he tossed his modified gun aside, jumped in to the water, and allowed the rapids to carry him away.

BiC: "GAAAAH!" Kenth roared as more electricity overcame him. However, this time, he was in dragon form and it dealt more damage than before. What's more, it's the largest amount of electricity he's ever taken in one blow. Would he even survive this?

"No...not...here..." Kenth muttered to himself as he could not help but fall down to the rubble of rocks below. "I'd done...so good..." Unable to speak anymore after this, Kenth's limp dragon body stayed lying on top of the pile of rocks that once buried his opponent. However, miraculously, he was not dead yet. On the verge of death, maybe, but not completely gone forever. He merely lost consciousness, hoping the dinosaur would not return.

Kenth had already been defeated, what more could that creature want to do to him?
