The Epitome of Mediocrity: Looking for Requests
Looking for requests. :3
Hello everyone! I like to doodle and what-not, so I thought I might get some feedback here. Feel free to be harsh and give me stuff to fix. I'm really looking for stuff to improve on, and I know there's plenty I could improve on. So, let's get on with it, here's some stuff to look at: Here's some video game stuff! ![]() ^Still working on this a bit, planning on giving it to my friend as a late Birthday present. I'm a terrible friend. DX ![]() ^Spah sappin' mah sentry! Best class ever. I'm always really sad when those pesky spies fry my stuff though. And since this is a Zelda site, I doodled up some Zelda stuff real quick: ![]() ^Uh, wut? ![]() ^Aww, Vaati just can't win. ): Someday I'll get around to making some more legit Zelda art. xD Haven't tried that since I was like 8 though. Some water colors, 'cause I like watercolors: ![]() ![]() ![]() ^Really more of a composition of sketches I liked than an actual watercolor. And a figure study that I really like: ![]() Here are some quick drawings of my friend's Bounty Hunter character. ![]() ![]() ![]() ^I hate bounty hunters, I can't draw them flying to save my life. And here's some computer stuff: ![]() ^My submission for the Doodle for Google contest. ![]() ^Poster I had a lot of fun making. I already know it could use some more variety in font. Dx Okay, let the critiquing commence! ![]() |

Re: The Epitome of Mediocrity: Looking for Requests
Wow, from the title you gave this thread, i was expecting drawings of a much lower level, but these are very nice! I especially like the first picture and the water coloured pieces, the colours are just lovely and strong, and really add well to the atmosphere of the drawing.
The weakest I think are the drawings of the bounty hunters. The proportions just seem slightly off, especially in the last image, his head looks like its slanting. The vaati picture, although a doodle, is very cute, I liked that one a lot. I think you are a lot better than you seem to think you are! These were some lovely pictures. I'm sure your friend will love the picture you are working on, its drawn at a very good standard.

@PocketCucco: Firstly, thank you so much for the feedback.
I must agree with you, the bounty hunters were never my favorite and the last one is certainly the worst (The last one wasn't scanned either, so the angle of the camera may be emphasizing the problems a bit more, not that it excuses an already iffy picture). I'll try to be more aware of proportion in the future. @Ravenwing: Thank you so very much! ![]() I'm really glad to hear that you both like my watercolors since those are my favorite to make. Your opinions really mean a lot to me, thank you both so much! ![]()

Re: The Epitome of Mediocrity: Looking for Requests
![]() Not a very good display of proportion, but it's on the internet anyway, so I figured I'd post it. xP My take on a Star Wars smuggler for my sister. I thought she was kinda cool.

I like the Leon one. The face seems a little off, but everything else in it is fantastic! Good work.

Thank you both so much, I'm so glad you both like Leon!
And my friend didn't notice anything about the face when I gave it to her, so I guess I'm in the clear for now. ![]() Oh, and I was messing around earlier and a Gerudo happened. Not a great Gerudo, but a Gerudo nonetheless. ![]() ![]() She's kinda scary. ![]()

I would have to agree with my sis. These are all awesome. Lots of bright colors really bring out some of the pictures that you have there. I love the Vaati picture. I want it. ![]() But the very last one, its pretty good. I like it, I really do. Its not really that scary, I find it pretty cool. ![]() |

Re: The Epitome of Mediocrity: Looking for Requests
Thanks you two!
![]() Not what I usually do, but I finally finished painting my window with Gallery Glass. It's a Majora's Mask inspired design. I've always loved the clocks of Clock Town, and since I'm incapable of making an actual clock that resembles them, I decided that the design would also lend itself well to this faux stained glass.Anyway, here it is: ![]() And here's a picture to show the size of it a bit (won't let me post it as a picture without the other one disappearing. O_o): http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i1...L/IMG_0727.jpg

Re: The Epitome of Mediocrity: Looking for Requests
Not really sure if this should be here, but I did a quick digital thingy.
I was inspired by Ryan Wood. I combined the pallet of George Romney's "Portrait of Emma, Lady Hamilton" and this coloring book page of Cinderella. Anyway, here it is: ![]() Bleh. Mainly did this for practice with GIMP since I haven't used it much...at all. I should invest in a tablet I think, 'cause boy does my wrist hurt. Dx

Re: The Epitome of Mediocrity: Looking for Requests
Your watercolors are fantastic. Even I'm not that good with them! I think you should make more art with that media, you have great control of it.
The Cinderella is beautiful. The color palette was also a great choice. It looks very old!

Re: The Epitome of Mediocrity: Looking for Requests
Wow, thank you both so much.
That really means a lot Felix, I'm so glad you like them! And I'm glad I pleasantly surprised you, Candc32. ![]() I did a few more Disney things. I think they really help relieve stress, not much thinking, just some coloring. "Mrs. Benjamin West and son Raphael" by Benjamin West was used for the pallet. Here is...actually, I can't find the original coloring page. Whoops. O_o ![]() I also tried out some light textures, dunno if that made a difference or not. xD Another one. More of an experiment with lighting, I wanted something more dynamic like my pallet choice "Judith Slaying Holofernes" by Artemisia Gentileschi. This is the coloring page I used. ![]() Computer coloring is relaxing. ...and I think I'm figuring out GIMP a bit more. So that's a bonus.I just bought some giant water color paper and I can't wait to start on a piece for our fireplace. I'm super pumped after that dose of encouragement! ![]()

Re: The Epitome of Mediocrity: Looking for Requests
Thanks, and No prob
I like your Google as well, when I saw it the first thing I thought was that could and would actually be used by them judging from the quality. Keep it all up, you have talent, are you looking to go into art or is it more of a hobby? The window was great tho, i thought it was actually stained glass at first glance. |

Re: The Epitome of Mediocrity: Looking for Requests
@Blitz: I'm really interested in going into art, I'm not exactly sure what it is I'd like to major in though. I think it'd probably be a good idea to get involved in digital based art though, seeings as that seems to be the direction everything is going in, however, as you can see I could still use quite a bit of practice.
And thank you once again! I can't even express how glad I am to hear that. ![]() Not anything special, but I figured I should post something so my thread isn't just me droning on and on. So here's a picture I did during English class in all pen. I love doodling. Feel free to ignore the fact that it's on notebook paper. Inspired by Alphonse Mucha, I've been seeing a lot of his work lately for some reason.![]() (And yes, I know her head is huge and her hands are itsy-bitsy >.>) And here's the piece I submitted to August art contest on here, I came in second out of four. Just a quick watercolor I did before I went on vacation. ![]() Slightly influenced by a certain Disney ride (guesses anyone? ).
