And I think you did quite well on the live model, don't be so hard on yourself! I especially like the bottom one. I totally agree with you though, charcoal is a *****.

I hear ya with the life drawing. Im absolute crap at that so i can understand. They look ok though.
Life drawing is boring.
I understand it's essential to drawing well and everything, but it's painfully boring.

Ha ha, thank you.
And yeah, whenever I use charcoal, I tend to use the charcoal pencils, if only because I can hold them like pencils. But charcoal is either too permanent or not permanent enough, it's a mess.

Ground Man's Theme (Unfinished)
From MegaMan and Bass, Ground Man's theme. It's not finished, and I dunno if I should finish it. I just put it up here because... I dunno.

Pokemon GSC Medley (Way Unfinished)

Completely unfinished medley I started for Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal. These three songs just slam together-- they don't have any transitions yet.

Untitled 107
Another untitled song. Dunno, I think it was supposed to suggest either a dense forest or winding labyrinth of some kind.

I'm not trying to "come up with a style of anime". I just draw how I like to. I would especially hate for it to come off as particularly anime-- that's one thing I'm trying to avoid, although the anime roots are undeniably there and in full view.

^ Cowboy Crawdad rides again. Here he dun got hisself appointed honorary temporary just-in-case sheriff-but-not of this here dustbowl known as Bonedusk.
I dunno what's up with that sheriff there. I didn't plan him out at all-- I had no clue what he'd look like, so I just started drawing this completely scattershot thing until that formed. So his proportions are inconsistent for his body type (he should probably be more rotund in the waist and it should probably be farther down).

Also I can't draw guns off the top of my head to save my life

Punch-Out!! Jazz Remix (Unfinished)
Unfinished jazz remake of the Punch-Out!! fight music.
Goddamn, there are no good VSTis or soundfonts for jazz. Especially brass.

Yeah he looks so threatening with his water pistol of death

Also, not that this matters, but in case nobody can read my handwriting (which is to be expected), the sheriff is going "Yer tougher 'n a deputy, pard, but Ah can't go makin' yeh sheriff, seein' as Ah'm sheriff, comb-prenn-day?".
The only reason that's significant is so that people don't wonder why I didn't just call him a "deputy".

Just out of curiosity, do you not have a deviantart account, Tonchiki?

Very cute cartoons. You coloring especially brings them to life.

No. Not yet. I don't do DA because the basic idea seems to be "I'm going to post my unfinished works so you can come here and steal them" or "have a look at every step of everything I do during this project". Soooo no.

If you feel that way. Most people, if they post unfinished things, put it in scraps, and you can always watermark. I just enjoy getting feedback/views on my work--I'm just not so much a fan of how most people there seem to be so preoccupied with Naruto things...

I do have an account just for the sake of reserving it-- I actually think I started putting some of these doodles on it-- but as such, it wouldn't have anything of substance on it until I finish something solid, so I don't use it.
Nobody is going to comment on my random crappy doodles on deviantArt, and frankly there's not even much to say because they're only doodles and can't be properly critiqued (but I welcome it as much as possible). That, and I am absolutely not putting up unfinished important ideas.

Oh, back there, yeah, like three pieces of crap. But upwards of 85% of these are completely colorless, because I can't color worth a fudge.

P.S.: I hope everyone knows that the first post has every single thing I've put in this thread so far-- you don't have to go looking through the thread for them...

Eh, I suppose. I'm kind of obsessed with DA now, I just don't like how when people actually do comment, though, it is usually just some sugar-coated bs. Do you mind giving me the address for it anyway? I'd like to check it out even so.

If you colored those pictures in your sig and avvy and such, I'd say that's pretty darn good. I just wish for your other doodles you would do them more justice--like putting them on a nice clean sheet of paper and cleaning them up a bit. They're very fun and creative, and it detracts from them a bit being on smeared notebook paper, you know?

Ehhhhhh.... There's really, really no point. There are only a couple things there, and none of them are things that aren't here (I think I even copy/pasted the descriptions from here word-for-word). It's just not really ready to go "live" yet.

I still say they suck-- I have no clue what I'm doing in Photoshop (or coloring in Flash, since that's what I usually use).

Them being on smeared notebook paper is kinda the charm. I mean, they're doodles during class. They're not meant to be finished pieces by any stretch of the word. They're put here in all their messy purity because, well, that's what they are. They're doodles.

That said, I'm not good at getting anything to look finished. It almost always looks better as a sketch.

Ah, okay. Well, I admire how you are able to do so many, and put them up. It takes me forever to get to do a picture, and I spend too long on it, and often times find myself throwing the little doodles away. I still wouldn't say the colored ones suck, though. Is there a particular reason for you choosing to color in Flash over Photoshop?

I'm not trying to toot my own horn here or anything, but most of what's here is my worst stuff. I have untold amounts of ideas and characters, many of which are extremely important and close to me, that I can't show until I get a major part of it done and noticed, so it doesn't get stolen from me. So I have a hell of a lot more than this. Unfortunately I cannot under any circumstances show it yet.
Quote:

For one, Flash is possibly my favorite program ever. I love it to death-- you can do anything in it (draw, make games, make animaitons, make comics, rudimentary video editing...). But mostly I'm used to its interface and I've gotten pretty savvy to how it ticks. If something goes wrong in Photoshop, I most likely won't know why. In Flash, I'll probably have a good hunch, even if it's not supposed to happen. Quite often, the program glitches up the vectors. There's no real reason for it to happen, but I know exactly what it is and how to fix it. I just got really used to how it works and I love the program.

Also, it's good for getting a flatter, cartoony-looking drawing in color, since you draw with vectors. It works well for a certain feel.
