I'll also be posting music I play, songs I've written and covers of songs. Feel free to request songs for me to cover! Challenge me, go find songs for me to cover. I'm an acoustic guitar player so my songs will be acoustic. But that's it. DEMOS. Sunday Existentialism [demo] Just A Little Bit Come on, Grow up. Summer Said Christmas Song Four Years COVERS. Bleeding Love (Originally by Leona Lewis.) Good Riddance (Originally by Green Day.) I Will Follow You Into The Dark (Originally by Death Cab For Cutie.) Soo, yeah! Re: The Kenzy Project
Haha, thanks for the incredibly kind words. I appreciate it.
I'm getting kind of ahead of myself, being so excited about all this and am currently recording my cover of Bleeding Love written by Jesse McCartney and that Ryan guy for Leona Lewis' album. There was recently a compilation record released called Rocking Romance which has a bunch of current day alternative artists performing covers of popular love songs, and Bleeding Love was one of them, and after hearing the cover I wanted to cover it. So yeah. I'll have that up here soon. |

Re: The Kenzy Project
Oh god I HATE that song. And I am really pumped to hear you make it good.
Suggestions: Gallows Pole by Led Zeppelin off of their 1970 album Led Zeppelin III. Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp by Led Zeppelin off of their 1970 album Led Zeppelin III Thank You by Led Zeppelin off of their 1969 album Led Zeppelin II. And uh, Time of Your Life by Green Day. All acoustic masterpieces.

Re: The Kenzy Project
Oh no, I feel safer covering bad songs cause the chances of me making them better are greater. I'll go learn some of those songs, but I'm real scared I won't be able to even halfway live up to the sound of the original song.

Re: The Kenzy Project
Ahahahah! Don't worry, dude. Your every bit as good at singing and playing the guitar as Jimmy Page and Robert Plant are, you have no worries.
Jimmy was a terrible, awful guitar player, his strength was in writing. So you've got no troubles there. And really, any drunken karaoke singer is better than Robert Plant.

Re: The Kenzy Project
I'm gonna tackle Good Riddance by Green Day first. It's real easy to play so I should have fun messing with it.
Big question, should I do a traditional cover of the song and keep it slow, or should I speed it up and do a fast paced version? As I typed this I realized I could just do both. So I might just do that. |

And which uploading site should I use? I used that one cause uploading the files was so easy, I never tried it from the downloading side. |

Re: The Kenzy Project
This is a very cool project, one that I wish I had thought of.

Re: The Kenzy Project
You can still get involved. We could do stuff where people could request song covers, once this hopefully gets more popular, and then you and I could cover the same song then post it on here and compare the different approaches to covering it. And if any other musicians want to come in they can do similar things as well.

Re: The Kenzy Project
That could be fun. I've always had problems when it comes to writing original material, but doing my own arrangements of other songs is stuff I do all the time. But I don't want to detract from this being your thing too much.

Re: The Kenzy Project
Well we could have it as a special event kind of thing. Every few weeks or so. Whatever gets more people in here, I want to get more community involvement and stuff, more feedback.

Re: The Kenzy Project
Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been dealing with allergies so my voice hasn't been all that great. I really need to find a long term solution for this if I want to play shows in Spring, ever. But oh well. For right now I'll just wait for a day my throats more clear and I'll record. Really sorryy.

EDIT: well I listened to Sunday Existentialism. Very cool! At times it ounded like the vocals were too loud and "shouty". The mix if the music was cool, and I loved the sounds and the little solo thing at the end. I can't listen to bleeding love because I clicked on it once, then accidentally closed the window and when Iclicked the link again I got an erroe saying that my IP was already downloading it... You should totally use mediafire.com. so much simpler and faster ![]() Good stuff though ![]()

Re: The Kenzy Project
The uploading site you used keeps saying my IP is already downloading, and thus won't let me listen to the songs. =/

Re: The Kenzy Project
Okay. So. It's not Time Of Your Life. Cause I want to take time and get out the sound proof wall and all my fancy stuff to record that one. But I do have a new original song.
Short, sad, and just my style. Here's the DL link, it's also up in the first post. Song's called Just A Little Bit. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FPC00AYF Also, I've got another short sweet song done, Come On, Grow Up. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D2W3FW4V |
