That's lovely, but I want my reuben dripping with Russian Dressing, saurkraut, nice and buttery, with a Vlassic slice, and a big frosty beer. None of this dainty reuben stuff

(seriously, though- that sounds delicious, I'm just yanking your chan)

Re: A Different Kind of Art, FOOD!

Margar, I like your style! Unfortuneatley, we had limited supplies, so I could only load it up so much.

I got bored, and what do I do when I get bored? Well, I play video games, but what do I do when I get bored and hungry? I make food!

Since I haven't made any in a while, I made some crepes, and decided to play around with plating. It didn't turn out as wll as I had hoped, but I don't think it's too bad (it is a bad picture though)

Re: A Different Kind of Art, FOOD!

Well another Monday goes by, and that means more pictures of food! I also made dinner tonight, so first, here's a picture of the salad I made.

and here's the stuff I did at school.

That's an open face grilled chicken sandwich. It's go roasted red peppers and micro greens under the chicken, and gucamole on the side.

That's another open face sandwich. Remulad spread on the bread topped with sliced cheese and procuitto wrapped arounf canteloup coleslaw. Some slces of yellow tomato and sprouts on the side as garnish.

Re: A Different Kind of Art, FOOD!

I can't say I'd ever think of combining canteloup with procuitto.

EDIT: oh, and for the hell of it-
I made a tasty soup in my crock-pot last night:
Thai ginger coconut chicken soup. It has chicken, onion, carrot, sweet peppers, mushrooms, red pepper, garlic, ginger, coconut milk, broth, and lemongrass. It's heavenly

Re: A Different Kind of Art, FOOD!

That's sooo good! I love Thai cusine.

And canteloupe with prcuitto is classic anti-pasto! in fact I think I have a picture posted of it earlier in the thread as well with some bruchetta.

Thanks, I needed to figure out a way to use up the rest of the space on the plate, so I threw some sprouts on. And all that is is a little balsamic vinagre.

Re: A Different Kind of Art, FOOD!

Okay, so I haven't posted any new pictures the last couple weeks because of [Canadian] Thanksgiving one week, and the other two weeks we did take out ocntainers which didn't look great anyways.

However Lord Zero's question about fried rice rmeinded me how long it's been since I made so.

So I made some.

The chosticks in the second picture are actually from Korea. My grandad brought them beack from the war. Apparently he took them form an army camp they raided.

And yes, I can use chopsticks.

Re: A Different Kind of Art, FOOD!

Woot! Double post. This week we did suchi and sashimi at school.

I have a picture at a better angle, but the damn camera didn't focus properly so you can hardly make anything out. Anyways, the sushi there are a california roll (with the cavar on top), then going across the back we have salmon, cucumber, a big one (shiitakkes, carrot, sweet omlet, and pickled daikon), and carrot. The sashimi are salmon, scallops, and eel.
