Well I can't take credit for the plating. That was my chef. I've never been to good at it to tell the truth. But I was in a short little aprenticeship video thingy where m chef went through how to do it with me. The plate came out okay, but not as good as his.

I'm starving and looking at these pictures of food isn't helping. Mmmm...yum.

Yesterday morning my class did a meal in cooperation with EcoSource with all localy grown food (anything grown within 100 miles). There was press there to cover it, and I got quoted from my interview with the Toronto Star! There's no pictures of the food in the Star, but there was somebody there taking a bunch of pictures and making me pose way too much, so I'm hoping that maybe another paper will have pictures of the food and I'll post them.

I also made lunch for a friend today. It was fried rice and quite good if I do say so my self. But I just realised I forgot to take pictures.

EDIT: The story was also featured in The Mississauga News. This one has a pic, but you can't see much. Although I am in it. See that tiny face with the hat wayy back in the top right? Moi.

Cream of mushroom soup. Not amazing on the presentation, but everyone liked it.



Snapper steamed in a pouch with some veg and a butter sauce. Went over rather well. The p;ating also looks pretty good if I do say so myself.


Another crepe, but this one I plated on my own. I also think it looks better.

Still have some more good pics on my phone, but still can't find the micro SD card.

It really does, but I got carried away with the cinnamon a little.

This is just a simple little asian stir fry my placement supervisor quckly showed me. I didn't actualy make or plate it, but it was part of my leanings.

After scarfing down that snack, I made myself dinner at the end of the night.

Penne Alfredo. Simple, easy, and soooooo gooud!


This was the next night. We spent a while preparing these, so I had to try one! It's a chicken breast stuffed with baccon, leeks and swiss cheese, with a pancetta crust ontop of a roasted red pepper sauce. I also plated this one my self with some direction.

Okay, it's been a couple weeks since I updated, but here's some new pics!


Breaded and fried flounder with fries. Nice little garnish on top as well.

We did this from scratch at school, so we got to clean the flounder as well. I'll just link those pics for the sake of the faint of heart. They are neat though.

Cleaned fish. The one on top wasn't done too well, you can kind of see they went all the way through the fish. Mine's on the bottom, it was great.


Roast chicken dinner complete with potato croquette, dresing, gravy and vegetables.


The chef at my coop placement and I were playing around with roti for a couple days and it turned out really well. Made some fried rice to go with it.



I helped my chef at school with a catering thing. We made a few different h'ourdeurves. These are summer rolls on top (simmilar to spring rolls, but not fried) and a neat little one on bottom. A cucumber slice marinaded in vinagre and ginger, with a little dollop of spicy tuna topped with a cherry tomato, lemon zest and red onion. It was amazing and played on almost every flavour.

This is making me HUNGRY. I want that crepe!
