Molgera and more

I've been practising digital art.

A skeleton alchemist character I drew for my friend's imaginary MMORGP, as my part of an art trade:

For another friend's birthday, I drew his favourite Zelda character, Linebeck:

Finally, my try at a Molgera boss, this time among the clouds:

Constructive criticism would be much appreciated.

Well thats interesting a lot more defined than your other sketches.

The alchemist skeleton is awesome because it made me smile looking at it. Just the idea of a skeleton holding up a vial and going 'Aha! I've done it!" just got me.
The only crit I'd really have is to be consistant - not so much in the colouring but the drawing itself. I'm referring to his hand because while the rest of him is made of bones, his hand looks like a normal fleshy one.

As for Linebeck, I've only seen a few pictures of him since I haven't played the game he's from but he does look like what I've seen. A good rendition of him. What I would suggest is to even out the colouring. Some of it is really splotchy and dark, like the are on his cheeks. Its too dark and burnt looking, what you should do it get something like a soft edged brush, lower the opacity on it and select a surrounding colour and gradually work over the burnt areas. If you keep selecting back and forth between colours you'll get a nice smooth color gradient kind of look.

That being said, use the burn and dodge tools lightly. Burn is great for lightly darkening areas but don't go overboard with it. It's a simple matter to add it lightly, select that new colour it creates and use that to make a gradual shadow as you keep upping the burn one step at a time.

Hope that wasn't too confusin ^_^;

Thanks, HitokiriChibi ^^ I appreciate that you took your time commenting this.

I agree, the hands are rather flesh-like. Well, I admit I rushed through it. I will try to be more consistant.

About the Linebeck picture, well, I was very impatient when I drew it. So, that's why it's so messy.

Well, I'm a little bit confused, but I understand what you mean in general.

Again, thanks a lot for the good advice.

Molgera is supposed to have wings, or fins. I remember appendages when I fought it in TWW. And why does it look like he's on a cloud in the sky? I know he's the boss of the Wiind Temple, but he lives in a sand pit.

The other two pictures are good, though.

Oh, I forgot the wings/fins. When I checked Molgera's official art for reference, I never noticed them... Oops. He is on a cloud in the sky; just like Gohma changes her habitat from time to time (most notably, forest in OoT and volcano in TWW), Molgera has changed it's habitat. Of course, this is a different Molgera than the one from TWW.

I think the originals like from ALttP are just worms with no fins or anything. It's the head that made me think it was the one from TWW. Otherwise, it is a nice picture.
