Dark Link vs Link - Finished.

Well, after much laboring, I finally got it done!
Here is the the piece.



Used quite a few layers... and for the first time! Go me!
This is a scene depicted from a fan fiction of mine.

This is absolutely amazing.
Just a couple of flaws though. What's with Dark Link's hand? It's like....disfigured or something. Maybe it's just me...
And doesn't Link use his left hand for his sword? Well, that's really a flaw....a bit of a throw-off for me, but not a flaw.

And one more thing, Link's fist seems to be going through his other arm...lol.

Which hand? I going to assume you mean the open palmed one.
Yeah, I'm not too good with hands, but its probably the color and blurr that makes it look a bit odd.

Lefty? Didn't really consider that when I was drawing, and didn't think it'd matter. Lets hope not too many don't think so either =]

The hand is just pronounced, which might make it look that way,

When I saw the picture, I cracked up. That was actually smart.
Oh I see now, that's Dark Link's other hand I'm looking at. XD
Actually, link can use both hands for the sword...but he's usually portrayed with the sword in the left hand.
You should also put some shadowing under the master sword's hilt, where Link's fist is.

I think it was after Zelda 1 that they decided to make Link left-handed.

Ah, that hand on dark link was really throwing me off but then I saw the reference image and realised its meant to be both his hands, one a fist the other open.

Aside from that, Dark Link's eyes seem to be looking up above Link, instead of at him. It's probably because the pupil is longer and actually touches his eyelid. if you made it not touch, it would look more focused on Link. Aside from that, Dark Link's face is good - the shading is nice and delicate on it.

In Link's case, his face seems alot more lumpy and his arm looks just a bit too thick. Perhaps those things are more to my personal preference though.

The background and the shiny triforce are beautiful, by the way. You always seem to do buildings really nicely ^_^

I can't help but concur on some of your comments.
You're right about Dark Links eyes - I went a bit wild with the pupils,
I think I'm gonna make them smaller, initially because I want him looking a bit more sinister, but hopefully it'll straighten out his eyes too.

My reference for Dark Link's skin tone was actually that of Gollums.
Unfortuantly, when I tried cutting him up a bit, he looked like he had make up on.

As for everything on Link - Maybe Jackie Chan wasn't such a good reference for a white, teenager. He does look a bit goofy.

I purposely had the triforce shine to split the picture in two.
