Leisurely Works of Paint on Canvas

Scrutiny

Fleeting Panic

Both works are Oil Paint on Canvas

Beautiful use of colours. The pictures show much warmth, especially the green one.
The red woman's hair is very detailed, especially for a picture with little choice of colours. The bodies also seem very much alive, and express much. You've taken a theme and made the best out of it, I think.

Thank you very much.
Yes, I was experimenting with monochromatic shades in both...but left the white in order to give it a gritty, ethereal effect...

Obliant - 2 fantAstic esperiments!

Though the first one captivated me more than the second,
I have a deep respect for people who so effortlessly seem to manage colours so

The first's background green has been beautifully rendered to fit in so many .. shades of green into the one image as well as yellow increasing the mood many times over. The smudged out lines work best and enhance the ethereal faint figure.

The second's colours I believe are tOO strong and so lose the magic you had going with the first, with the white for the hair standing out tOO much - but that's just my taste ^__^

and you're experimenting so that's all good!

Keep painting! :3

I'm just curious about how you do the people, do you draw the outline first and then paint them or just paint the people from the brush?

The artwork is very nice and a fresh breath of air on these boards. The Matricide panting however, could have the other people stand out a bit.

OubliantLeSang, that last painting, is, well, a masterpiece, in my opinion.

I won't lie, I had to check a dictionary to find the meaning of the title, but when I read the definition, my heard did sink.

During the time where I wrote the majority of my poetry, I made sure that my titles had meaning contained in them, so that the title combined with the text of the poem made a complete poem. You have done this same effect, which I admire, in your painting.

I mean, well done; there is much more which I could drag on about, regarding the different states of time this painting could be set in, as it could be just before the mother's death or just after it or whatever, but as the saying goes, a picture paints a thousand words, and this painting is truly an example of that saying.

Wow, thank you very much for your very kind words.
It warms my heart that my work is this appreciated.

THe figures above are not meant to stand out. They are a fleeting image.
A final and ignorant comfort.
