(Dump) My Artwork Thread [Critiques]
Hey all!
I just wanted to show a bit of my artwork off since I reopened my art request shop. Most of my work shown will be art requests, but I will also try to throw in a few fan arts here and there. Here's a few pix to start things off: Dragon Forest (request made by Exodus) Human Forest (request made by Exodus) Kokiri Child Zelda and Sheik Any comments and/or criticism will be very much appreciated! I'm afraid my artwork is a bit rusty, so I could use some advice from all you great artists out there. Thanks to stopping by! ~KIAS

Re: (Dump) My Artwork Thread [Critiques]
The dragon is very cute and you have a very individual style.
Comment on Zelda & Sheik: Zelda's head is a bit too large. The nose, lips and chin should be reduced. ![]()

Re: (Dump) My Artwork Thread [Critiques]
My connection is being very stoopid at the mo' so I was only able to load the first pikcher >_<.
It's very cute, most defintely ^-^ but there is one thing I think would help improve it *smiles*. The scales of the dragon are all done very flatly, maybe you could try to make them... um, how do I say this... form to the shape of the dragon, like, make some areas curve (maybe drawing out lines that defined the surface shape first then overlapping them with the finer details would help?). I hope you get what I mean by that KIASis :/ if not, just tell me, and I'll try to get an example from somewhere for you ;3 (If anyone can add onto this advice of mine to make it better, then feel free to)

More Artwork!!! ^___^
Hey everyone!
I finished another easy drawing today! I tried to work on my side views a little bit, and I think I got better! :embrsd: Princess M'sha II ^ This one's my DragonFable character, named after my Star Wars character. The skin tone is waaay off, but I was just experimenting. I used a model for this one: a side view of Majic from the series "Orphen". I'm also changing mediums, and obviously I got the wrong colour for skintone. *sigh* More to come later! Thanks again for all your support! ~KIAS

Warning: Partial Nudity
Thanks for the criticism. Yeah, my weakest points are proportions and hands right now. I'm just not so sure how I could improve proportions, though....There are a few books I have on drawing that help with proportions a bit, I think. Anyways, here's another one that just came from my head. I'm on a roll! ^_^ Any coments/criticism will be greatly appreciated! (NOTE: I'm experimenting with different colour mediums, so it's not great right now...)
(WARNING: PARTIAL NUDITY) Princess M'sha in the Ocean I guess you could say I was trying to convey a scene with the Princess M'sha (my character) crying. I've seen a lot of Japanime where women cry in the bath because they're by themselves in the comfort of their bathtubs. Please don't get the wrong idea from this. Also, I wanted to show the beauty of a woman's body (or at least part of it lol). Thanks for viewing! ~KIAS

Re: (Dump) My Artwork Thread [Critiques]
Thanks for your criticism, Shana, but what could I do better? What's wrong with it? Sorry, but could you elaborate a bit more? Thanks!

Re: (Dump) My Artwork Thread [Critiques]
Of all the work you've posted so far, I'd have to say that the Kokiri boy is my favorite. But like others have said, you need to work on your proportions, escpeically with the heads... Zelda's head is huge. And with the crying princess... one thing that bothers me is that it doesn't look like she has a "back" to her head. It looks like her neck and the back of her head are a straight line when the back of the head should be a little more "out".
But the only way to get better is to draw, draw, draw whether it be from a book, magazine, life, whatever. |

NEW ARTWORK!!!
Thanks, TheLastSheikah for your clear criticism. I'll try to work on heads a bit more. In the meantime, here are some pieces of my yet to be approved BA character, Mer. (Mer= guide in Egyptian Hieroglyphics)
Mer With Cloak ^Here's Mer just walking around with her cloak on. In case you didn't know, I sort of modeled Mer after the character Orphen from the "Orphen" anime. Mer With Dark Knives Attack ^Here is Mer using her Dark Knives attack. Hyah! Jackal Mer ^I know it seems odd, but Mer turns into a black jackal during the night. It's supposed to be a side effect from wearing the magical Ring of Set (the weapon she uses for her spells). Well, that's all for now! Thanks for viewing! Comments/criticism would be greatly appreciated! ~KIAS

Re: (Dump) My Artwork Thread [Critiques]
I really like your dark knives drawing.
That one just stands out to me the most. [: Other than that- I'd have to say you've got some nice potential, kias. But I've gotta agree with everyone else- your proportions are a tad bit off- for instance- I know you're trying to work with some "japanime" (?) and the eyes are supposed to be larger than average, but you drew the eyes a little bit too big (like on your zelda-shiek and M'sha drawings). And looking at your "Mer with cloak" drawing- I see her neck is too wide, and it makes her look sorta- masculine. x: Hope that helps a bit. ^^ Oh- and what did you use to colour these? They are coloured quite well. |

Re: (Dump) My Artwork Thread [Critiques]
Thank you so much, Saharah. ^^ I finally found the awesome medium I love. I'm using Copic brand markers for the light skin (Mer) and Prisma Color brand markers for the dark skin (M'sha). I also have Prisma Color for yellow and brown (M'sha's hair colour brown), but that's it. The rest is Crayola. I'm saving up for either a Prisma Color set or a Copic set when I attend next year's Anime Expo. I'll have more artwork soon! Right now, I just need a break. *phew*

Re: (Dump) My Artwork Thread [Critiques]
take a look at Burne Hogarth's work, he's made alot of books on the human form, and they could really help you out.
also, in regards to colouring, it would be helpful to add a bit more gradiation around the edges, so as to give off the illusion of actual space, i.e 3D.

Re: (Dump) My Artwork Thread [Critiques]
Thanks, vacumgod! Will do!!! ^__^
Ok, I've got a quick lil' sketch up now. I REALLY NEED SOME CRITICISM BECAUSE I'M GOING TO SUBMIT THE COMPLETED VERSION OF THIS TO A dA CONTEST, AND IT WILL BE ON A BANNER ON A SITE I'M ON. Pleeeaaase give me some criticism! NOTE: please don't critique on details. I mainly want criticism on the pose and proportions. The man's face isn't even finished yet, and I'm missing some other details. Thanks!!! ~KIAS "A Heaven Laid in Tears"- Sketch
