That is quite nice, GD. Except her face doesn't really look like a girl's all that much. :/

Yesh. But after this picture, you must start up your own thread. You seem to have enough confidence for your own thread.

Every time I make an art thread, no one replies to it. :/

Here's one with shading. This is Temari, Gaara, and Kankuro.

Yes, obviously. Make it more feminine. Sorry, I just didn't have anymore suggestions at the moment. :/

Kanna: Heh, the blonde girl reminds me of Katie Kazoo, lol. Nice drawing. Again, proportions are fine, you just need to work on human anatomy.

Mine is the same, however I still have one to put my doodles into, so I don't spam this thread up with just simple drawings, which I'm sure you will want to upload, because I didn't hear you saying that you weren't confident about showing your art. So still, start a thread.

Ok, Critic.

SHADE MORE.
Did you trace this one? Use a picture? if you didn't then I would be super impressed. But still, if it was a copy picture, its a good. You have smooth lines which is very nice to look at.

Shading, shading, shading. See your picture. It looks so flat. how to make it 3D? Add shading! "Oh but I'm horrible at it", Ack hush. Practise makes perfect. Cel shading is the most simplistic, and probably best to start off with. See your Red hair. Use a DARKER red (do not just use the same red and lean heavier on it) where the light DOES NOT get to. Same with the skin tone. Use darker clothes underneath the neck were you rarely get any light to, and also under the hair, where there are shadows.

Now, look over HUNDREDS of pictures to look over shading and you'll get the idea of it more and more.

Good luck. And when you set up your thread, I'll comment on it!

I kind of get the idea, but I use Crayola colored pencils to color my drawings. So, it's really hard for me to shade.

Re: Critique Central!

Try smearing then, Kanna. I do that when I shade with a normal pencil, so it might work on Crayola colored pencils (I use those too, lol). Just don't smear too much or you might ruin it. Crayola colored pencils don't erase very well, you know.

Re: Critique Central!

Ooh! I can't resist!

I drew this around a year and a half/two years ago, and was probably the first thing I submitted online.
It's Hexadecimal, all kitted out in her black-leather...undergarments from ReBoot season 3.
At the time, I only had Red, Orange, Brown, Black, Grey and Green felt tips at hand, so they're the only things I used to both draw and colour the entire thing with. For shading, such as in the Ribbon wings, for example, I would colour one half in red, the other in black, then colour over the black edges with the red, which kind of weathered away the paper and let the colours bleed a little, or, for making darker reds to accentuate contours of her body, I'd colour over the same area several times until the colours were over-absorbed by the paper and darkened. Crude, but it worked okay.
Her right foot looks all wrong though.

Even if you only had 6 felt tips, you still did an outstanding job! It's so amazing! I just don't have the words to describe how well it was drawn and colored!

SuperDecimel: That is unbelievably fantastic, SuperDecimel! Haha, Hexadecimal, she's just like I remember from the show, you've captured her devilish charm wonderfully with your felts. That's quite honestly some of the best use of felts I've seen in a long, long time. Incredible work.

Kanna Michi: That is beautifully drawn! I'm not the biggest fan of Naruto, but I must say that's rather charming. Your line work, form and general structure is nice, but your shading is off a little bit. I can understand with crayola coloured pencils, but it does look a little 'rushed'-ish in a way. I do like it though, and the expressions on their faces is great.

My sincerest apologies, m'dear! I didn't look carefully enough and was looking at a quote rather than the actual picture. Edited previous post, I shall ensure to be more careful next time.

My only suggestion is that you use your lines to their maximum potential to convey the *TEXTURE* of the material/object you are drawing.
The bear, for example, I would recommend would benefit from having a "furry" outline, while the straps across his torso retain a hard-edged quality to indicate their material. That way you differentiate between their differences and, believe it or not, adds a depth to the whole image rather than it just being lines on a page ^___^

Hope that was helpful =D
Ah, thank you so much, Asia! ^-^ You don't know how much I appreciate your feedback. I'll certainly take that advice to heart. And, I've been trying to work on depth... at least, with objects like the axe. But, It's so hard with accessories. Must. Keep. Trying. >.<''

Ah, I remember this one! =D

It's so amazing how you managed to do so wonderfully with such limited materials. It's simply magnificent. I very much like the sheen on the staff. Wonderful. :3

Oh, and here's a piece I never got comments on in my thread. I was trying to mess with human proportions and make it inhuman. One of my only tries at making a scene. I'm considering trying to make a background. Kind of foresty and stuff. X3

Eep, I do not have much time online before the modem is removed for the night, so I can only comment on one piece.

However, Hyrulian Hero - did you read the first post of this thread? or at least the rules? :/
Let's all abide by them so as not to allow this to become a messy pile of mismatched goo.

Ashley

And another thing I loved about your piece was the different line widths you used for the outline and details - brilliant! =D

This thread is fantastic. I love how AQ and GD critique it. I think I might post something soon, too. That is, if I get access to a scanner. *sigh* And, SuperDecimal, that looks fabulous! I rather like that one. ^^

Re: Critique Central!

*dances around like a looney!* Thanks Asia!
I hate to admit it, but I'm so bored of people not criticing me as well as you did just there. I NEED people to tell me what I do wrong or I just keep on doing it ^_^

The head. Yeah, I can see that, and I think I have been doing it throughout my pictures I'm sure you hidding underneath a pillow Asia YOU KNOW ITS TRUE
I will really try and fix that that bad habit.

The bum? WHAT BUM Oh why, oh why do we have bums? She is a Cop, she doesn't need it <.< >.>

The Suit jacket, I was wondering what was wrong with it, BUT you've helped to clear the annoying bug in my brain, plus show were the problme is on my drawing

STOP WITH THE ASHLEY Heh.

And here Cio, I hope this helps. If you don't understand what any of it means just ask me, since just now I'm tired haha.

But I like how you try different things. OH. Even though it is hard to not get ahold of a pencil some times when an idea comes into you, but try to use a pencil before a pen, so you don't get those sketchy scrapeing texture lines. If not, really try to lean LIGHTLY so you can then go over the goo outline heavier. (: <-- that goes to everyone
