I was going to reply last night, but it was 11ish and I was super tired. So I apolisgise :3
Ok, then.

You have a very unique style of colouring. It's sort of cell shading using only a few number of colours, yet... far from it. I'm not saying it's bad if you think I'm aiming at that, oh no. ^_^
However, the characters hair doesn't really follow thorugh this same pattern, especially the girl's. It seems you enjoy puting all the colours into the different strands of your material. Remember, Hair is a material as well, so try using your technique and make the hair more (what's the word I'm looking for *ponders*) in depth?

The bodies are fine in the way of having ther sizes almost correct (minor things here and there, but minor and this will reduce over practise and time - no biggie ^_^)
However, their poses are alittle extreme. Like your last picture. The legs are too wide to support the guys wight. Put yourself into the picture. "If you can't do the pose comfortably, than neither can your character" (:

Overall, you doing great. I adore your vibrant colours and the monsters you make are spot on!

The only ones I really liked was the last one and the last one on the first post. Your characters remind me somewhat of Megaman for some reason. Only (no offense) not as cool looking.

Errr.... why are they're calves so huge compared to the rest of their body? It doesn't look right. I'm trying to understand it, but I can't. It can't be anything with dimension because you don't have any sort of reference (i.e. background images) to convey foreshortening. It's all very warped and confusing to me.

Is that just the way you like to draw things? I mean, you've talent but my brain winces a little when I look at their lower bodies.

It's also spelled "rustle", not "russell" - that would be a name.

yeah i agree. im liking the comic, but is sooo sketchy. not that its bad, just that it would look much nicer if it was cleaned up, shaded, shadowed, etc.

Your very much right about the legs. When I created those characters I was really little and was trying for a mega man style, it might not look as good as some mega man stuff cause its not as chibi. Recently I’ve tried to make the legs normal sized and it looks horrible. But if you’ll notice in the comic, Angels legs and the goblins legs look completely normal while J’s are still huge. Also the two girls on the first posts legs are normal. When they’re in armor the legs and forearms/hands are big because they look stupid normal sized. I could show you what I came up with for them having regular proportions if you but I didn’t like it.

Thanks for the spelling tip, I’ll have you know that I am the worst speller in the whole world and am only able to write coherently because I only write in Microsoft Word.

As for the sketchiness of the comic, your right and I could do a lot better. But it is really hard to find motivation to draw a comic if you go all out on every frame. and I'm trying to finish it as fast as I can because I gots a long way to go.

Some of the new ones are alright but I still can't over the fact that those pics really look like a not as good megaman drawing.

Again, they’re not as chibi and that probably makes them look a lot different then Mega Man. Some of their armor is very basic and plain because all the pictures on post 5, (J, Jeff, and Ray, not including J’s third stage) that is their first stage and their second and third stages make them way cooler. I’ll post those some time later.

Please do! I'd be very interested to see... and get you to break a bad habit. It probably looks awkward to you because it's what you've seen for so long so it became your "norm" - your base to decide what looks good and bad to you. It can be very decieving sometimes. It's kind of like older women who still tease and poof their hair because that's what was popular back when they were younger. *whispers* Doesn't quite work that way...

I decided the last picture I tried didn’t give your request justice so I created this real fast.
As you can see I got board real fast with it too.
Its not my best work but I think it gets the point across.



I then decided to work smaller because I can make poses better when they’re small.

Here is some of my earlier work on a different comic, it’s a spaceship/magic/different dimensions, type comic. This is the two main characters, mines the cybernetic lizard, the guy with boots is my older brother’s.

wow you got skillz! i think your characters look much better with smaller calfs. seriously. and, i actually have come to like the sketchy style of your comic, although the new stuff in the comic is really hard to follow since there are no distinct lines to seperate the frames. it a cool style trying to blend in the frames to one a nother, but with sketchyness like that its near impossible. nice stuff tho! the scene from your older comic with the lizard dude looks sick nasty! its totally awesome! i wish i could draw that way, the lizards chopped up limps look very realistic!

You have a pretty good style, and make your pictures stand out. Pretty nice stuff, but the pictures that look best are the ones where you've cleaned up the lines and made them a bit cleaner. Good work.

And, for future postings of yours, don't post that many images at once ... it's kill on some people's computers. Use the url linking instead, and that way you can also have more than ten pictures in one post. ;]

Yay! Good things said about my art! About the sketchiness of my comic, thanx, I really like it too. And I’ll try to make more definent squares latter on.
