Transparency issue.

Erm, can someone help me? My avatar is supposed to be transparent, but it's not. I've tried everything. I can send you the photoshop file if you're willing to take a look at it and tell me what I've done wrong...

Re: Transparency issue.

Did you make sure the background was transparent, and not white? I will make you the transparent avatar if you wish.

Re: Transparency issue.

And don't forget to save it as a .PNG, it's best for this type of work.

And if you're not using the New windows or Firefox it'll never look transparent.

???

Re: Transparency issue.

Also note that IE6 and lower does not display alpha transparency (or the more common "png transparency", though that is a technically incorrect expression). There is a fix for it, I'll be talking to Scott about that today.

But yeah, it could simply be IE's fault for not displaying correctly, if that is what you use, rather than something you did. You could always update to IE7, though.

It's not transparent on Firefox either if you took that to note.

It's either something to do as what you saved it as or, a layer you forgot to remove, or your uploading it through a url from a webhosting site that messed with it. I don't know, I'm just throwing ideas in the air. But it isn't the IE6 problem.

Re: Transparency issue.

I'm disappointed in you Saria. Considering I made you the sig...You didn't even ask me first what could be going wrong. Non have you given me any credit what-so-ever. That sig did take some thought...

To make anything transparent, you need to make sure you see those Gary and White boxes in photoshop.
Make as a .png or gif (PNG way better quality, but big filesize).

Done...

Meh. I don't have access to Firefox where I use the internet. Which is not at home, sadly.

My bad.

I'm sure they know that.

THE REAL CRIMINAL HERE IS THE ALMIGHTY PHOTOBUCKET!

As much as I love that image host. It turns out that for some reason when uploading PNGs with transparency, the transparent part turns white. I don't know why. It was working fine before, but I've noticed that it's been doing this within the last 2 weeks. It may have been like this before that.

So use www.imageshack.us, hopefull Photobucket will be fixed shortly.

-whine- I'm sorry. I didn't want to bother you again after you made me the sig, and told me how to gradient fill. I'll credit you as well. Thanks again, and sorry...
