I'm back, bigger and better!

Ok, so I actually drew a person. I sat down with my art teacher, asking her how I could make the faces I drew better. I also asked if she knew how to draw anime/manga, and she did. So after spending my lunch there, I came out with this. I think this is a huge improvement, and I thank her so much for her time and teachings. so here's the product:

Ok, comments, suggestions welcome.

Cool. I give it a 8/10. I wish it was on white paper and was colored. . I wish I had a scanner so I can send my own pic of my "Dragon Sorcerer" He kicks a** and he has a look like "Aren't you gonna make a move. Or should I go all MidEvil on your a**?" lol.

I couldn't find any white paper. I like reusing paper too. I just don't waste. I didn't have time to color, my lunch doesn't last forever. Anyways, thank-you for the constructive critisizim.

Re: I'm back, bigger and better!

Please check out my other thread as well. I would like to know how much improvement I made, and how much I could be making more. I think the little sessions with the art teacher have done me alot of good.

Re: I'm back, bigger and better!

You did make a big improvment. Your proportioning needs a bit of work. Other than that it's pretty good.

Re: I'm back, bigger and better!

My art teacher said the same thing about the proportion. She has invited me back tommorrow. I might post what I come up with tommorow, depending how good it is. We are focusing on proportion. Thanks! I may even color!

Re: I'm back, bigger and better!

Better, better..... This does show me a little more of what your style is like. Still there is always room for MORE improvement. ^^ THe shape of the face is a little odd, but that is understandable. THe hand looks like it was drawn when your hand was shakey, but I just love the hand. Relatively, the hand is too small for the face, but that's not too hard to fix. Just use your own hand as reference. It helps. The smaller hair strands are rough around the edges but still getting better. I would reccommend straying away from those kinds of eyes when drawing anime or manga. Though it does appear in some ""How to Draw Manga" books, when you read manga, that style is never used. Still it can help you get on your way. She is missing eyebrows, but it's okay. Everybody forgets those one time or another. Overalll great improvement. Keep at it.

Re: I'm back, bigger and better!

I can tell you've been taking a page out of Katy Coope's book. More specifically, page 34 of her How to Draw Manga book. S'ok though, because that book is really helpful for learning fundamental cutesy manga style artstuffs. Just learn how to develop your own style and try drawing things not traced from a book. It might be harder and not look as good, but it's a lot better to learn by doing your own thing.

Re: I'm back, bigger and better!

Today, I'm going to focus on drawing some of the characters from the Lion King. Simple, but I want to try something new again.
