[Dump]Gunstarblue's and Monkey D. Luffy's Art Thread

Well, okay. I'll start this off. Me and Monkey will be posting our random art in this thread. Please give only CONTRUCTIVE CRITICISM; no "OMG 74H7 15 FR34K1N 4W50M3!" or whatever. Advice is welcomed.

I drew this pic a few days ago in homeroom. Me and my friend were drawing random stuff.

At first I was trying to draw Godzilla terrorizing Tokyo, but that didn't work out, so I flipped the paper over and this came out.

I really like it, even though I use a simple style. You can see I drew it on loose-leaf but I ttried to erase most of the lines on photoshop.

This is probably the quickest picture I ever drew. Most of my pictures (belive it or not) usually take around six to eight hours to finish(usually have troubles w/ head and face). This one was about 1 1/2 or less hours.

EDIT: btw, they're shooting at each other(if you couldn't tell), even though one is on top of the other.

This is some of my art, I hope you enjoy. I, too, will have colored pictures coming and I will have new art soon (when I have time to draw them <_<).

To the first post - it looks as though the anatomy could use a little work. For example, on the human, the arm with the gun is significantly longer than the other, and one leg is a little longer than the other leg, too. I like the facial expression, though.

To the second post - These look pretty good, but Kakashi's nose is off centre and kind of looks like it pointing a different direction to the rest of the face. The colin one is particularly good, my only advice here is that you could work on your rendering by drawing exactly what you see in terms of areas of light and dark, rather than using lines so much, because this makes a picture look a bit unrealistic, especially around the nose area.

Both arms hold guns. But yeah, I know what you mean. My bad. But the reason one leg is longer is because it's closer to the viewer.
Yeah, most people ssay that about the face for some reason.

Ah, sorry - I missed the gun in the other hand.

With the leg that's closer to the viewer - I think you should work on foreshortening if you want to get that effect. As it is, they both look roughly straight and so it looks longer. For a person at that distance and in that stance, I don't think the effect of foreshortening would be that dramatic.

Woot! I finished it! After coloring it, I took your advice Mikshe(if that is your real name ) and with the help of photoshop shortened the giraffe-long arm and lengthened the foot so there is less forshortening.





I think it looks a lot better! Thanks for the advice again. More pics to come!

You did an awsome job on the...white-haired guy. My friend that is here with me says that the green monster/thing is cool. Just a 'challenge', why don't you try to add some detail in his face. Just an experiment.

Okay. Really the monster's face is turned sideways(dodging a bullet?), but I'll try to add a face to it; why not.

Finished. It's scary and funny at the same time(monster's face). When I look at it, first I flinch, then I LOL, literally.



As you can see, I added a creepy eye, a goatee, and skeletal whisker things.

Still more pics coming up. I just finished pencilling a new one; and I'll show it soon, then color it of course. Plus I have some old ones to put up as well.

EDIT: Notice, please excuse my fascination for/excessive use of white hair and how convenient it is in colored pictures, so you may be seeing a lot of it.

I'm going to add some art when my scanner works. I will have two pieces: an anime picture of myself and Shank's Pirate ship(One Piece). So when I can upload pictures, I'll edit this post.

OMG!!! 1 day ago I drew the exact same picture! holy crap! thats nice! mine had really good shading. but my scanner broke *sigh* so I never posted it or anything. I drew a boatload of pictures with the same style, useing many facial expressions. If only my scanner weren't broken Id post it.

How do you get it colored so well. Like what do you use to color it everything I color comes out like crap.

Well, I use photoshop and I use whatever colors I think will look good.

I didn't draw that, though. My scanner's not here right now. I copied it from the internet and colored it in photoshop.
