First Sig

Hey this is my first sig and I was wondering what people think.

Oh Jesus.

This is your first?

No, Jesus is not saying its bad. Its freaking good for your first time...

The text could use better placement though, and so could the background (the style of it, I mean.)

Two questions. What program do you use, and what was the original picture?

I think you did awesome chi! Especially considering it's a first siggy. ^_^ I like the texture in the background a lot. ^_^

I used photoshop and yes that was the origanal pic. Do you think I should start a sig shop? Oh yeah some credit goes to V99 for that awsome tut.

Hmmm.... Which version? And I want to talk to you on AIM, maybe give you some pointers.

Great... except you REALLY do need to work on the text placement.

And why a red outline? Why?? It looks horrible, and makes the text stand out. This sig has a subtle style, except for the red outline. Then all you see is 'YUNA' and there's no beauty in that at all.

For your first time, that is awesome. You should think about opening up a shop.

Nice, but you need to work on text and color. Sigs look bland when it's just a pic and text, you need to add some effects, if none, bigger images. Nice job though.

Here are 4 more:

Ew. No offense, but those backgrounds are pretty bad. My first few sigs were extremely similar (with the liqufy and stuff), but I think you could get alot better. Just spend some time going through the filters in Photoshop, and try some random tutorials on sites like Spoono.com, Deviantart.com and Goodtutorials.com

Also add some variety into what stock images you use, and not just generic anime/game character. Use resources around you, take photographs and incorperate them into your work. And using the one colour throughout isn't a great idea, unless well done. So, try to blend different colours throughout your piece, and not just the one colour.

Stop making threads for people to rate your sigs! You've already made one!

The sig is pretty horrible anyway - it needs a lot more improvement to be decent.
But you're on your way, keep practasing and experimenting in Photoshop.

This was to show people my sig and I only made one to do that. Why don't you try that brain of yours and stop being a English *****.

Dude, what the hell? He may have been a bit harsh, but you don't freaking snap at people that dont like your work!

I myself have to kinda agree with Unknown on the sig he was reffering to. The render placement was decent, although the render you used was awful, blocky and poorly cut. Quite bluntly, the background sucks.... flat out, thats the truth. Also, the text is pretty bad, as the whole sig is centered on the text. Plus, the whole sig has the same hue (thats fine), but the saturation value you used was FAR too high. It is way too saturated, and it makes it look bad.

Your more recent sigs are looking better, although the render placement is some of them is bad (the yuna one), the text is getting better, although the major thing I have with these sigs is the ugly backgrounds. Liquify is no way to make a background, it makes it look kinda... well... bad. Most people use brushing techniques. You should try downloading some brushes off of www.deviantart.com or something.

Another thing I have is that the whole sig sharing the same hue is good in some cases (like in V99's) although in your sigs, it makes it look grainy and ugly-ish. Another thing, is that in your sigs where the whole sig isn't the same hue, the renders do not blend into the backgrounds, making it look out of place. Blend the renders and it'll look pretty good (besides the background).

The very last thing I have to say, is that your sigs don't have a focal point. In the sigs with the same hue, they have no focal point whatsoever. Making it so that your eyes don't know the center of your attention, degrading the artwork. And in your sigs without the same hue, the render serves as a decent focal point, although when (and if, reccomended) you start brushing, try to make a place in the background where the brushing comes to a lighter point. And make contrast between different places in your brushing.

OK, sorry for that. I was kinda harsh and nitpicky. You are getting noticeably better, I must say. Im just kinda irked at your rude behavior here. Also, your rude behavior over pm.

Plus, you should really learn to cut pictures out of backgrounds. It is much easier that way, since you can't always have a render of exactly what you want. It kinda turns down people from your sig shop because they cant find a render of [insert something they want in a sig here]
