Hylian Dan's Fanart

Okay here's my fanart thread. I've only drawn one picture so far, but once the school year ends I should have enough time and energy to get more done. I don't currently take art classes and I'm drawing just for fun, but I'll appreciate any comments/criticisms.

I drew this picture for a Farore art contest. It's of Anju from MM in front of the Clock Tower on the Second Day, searching for Kafei.

Its veary good i like it alot i would like to see your other work

Its great that you draw just for fun, you have a great sense of light direction, and you colour very very well also. The only thing that bothers me in this picture is the nose, but other than that, great work!

Once again, someone has to make me cry over not having a scanner

Ok, yes u raw really good, and i have to work on my coloring, it usaully messes up my drawings, and the only thing that bothers me is that the head just seems a little big....

Great work! I am not that good. My only suggestion would be more detail with shading (I am obsessed with it) to make it look less 2D, with the clock. Try to see which parts stick out on the clock to make shadows! Great art though!

Good. 8/10 I would like to see more of a background. Not just the clock.

3.5/10. The colours and shading are better than any I could do, on paper anyways, but the anatomy is simply horrible. The head is too big, and the hands are extremely misdrawn and small.
Where'd you learn to colour like that? I simply love the way the colours came out.

I think it is rough around the edges and you could of spent more time smoothing those edges but all and all I really like it! keep it up

Scanners are evil. Mine tried to eat the picture and since it was already past midnight when I was loading it, I didn't fill in the resulting discolored patch on the dress.

I kinda wanted it to seem lonely with the rain and all but have the clock there as a reminder of the impending wedding day/doomsday. I wasn't sure if I wanted to add too much backgroud to it. Plus there was a deadline and I had a ton of homework.

Yeah, anatomy isn't exactly my forte. I didn't like how the hands and arms came out, but in my defense, Anju does have a huge head in the game.

Thanks. The only computer drawing program I have is MS Paint, so I'm pretty much limited to coloring by hand. I just tried to do the best coloring I could with colored pencils, and I referred to the official art for most of the shading on Anju. I think the colors got a bit duller when photobucket resized it, because the original looks slightly more vibrant.

hey, HEY, HEY!! the anatomy isn't very good, but c'mon! horrible?? i've seen worse! and don't you think a 3.5/10 is a little low?? I give it a 6/10 or maybe a 6.5/10 becuase anyu is one of my favorite characters

i dont think the anatomy is that bad, i like the pic alot!, your shading is well done too. the ears look weird to me, but the rest is great, it looks like you spent alot of time on the clock...congrats to you

Ah yes, I saw that in the farore art contest. NOw, I would very much like to see some of your other work. And its good that u draw for fun, although i think that it is SUPPOSED to be fun anyway. at least to me. anyway, post some more up please!

That's a really nice drawing you got there Hylian Dan. You colored it well and correctly (going one direction, and not every other one too) And the shading is good too for the materials you used. Again, I really like the color! Feel free to post anymore of your artworks.

I always have difficulty "judging" a piece of artwork. I just dont like to think of a drawing as somthing as technical as numbers. "A man is not a number." I cant remember what movie that quote was from...anyway.

My point is, I cant give a rating.

But, your ablity is Fanatstico! I like just the clock as the background. So much of art is opinion, but stick with your OWN instincts. That way you will find satisfying rewards more than just results.

I really do hope to see more! Post anything, or ask me any questions.

I really like it Anju is my favorite charater and the picture really captures her emotion on the second day. Very good Hylian Dan.
